This is a birthday art/edit for Yuuri that I did ages ago based on Epel Felmier's Birthday Bloom (all edits of Yuuri use bases from Epel's in-game media). Their birthday is 4/17, and I prepped ahead of time back when it was still late 2024 (lol). Somehow though.. I was still late??????? Lmao time isn't real ig ??

Updated Sebek Facts: Self-Confidence (pt2)

We get many examples throughout the game of Sebek’s apparent self-confidence: he says that the prefect should be astounded by the rapidity of his personal development and explains that he has overcome his aversion to bitter vegetables because he can overcome any hardship.

When Ortho tells Sebek “I’m glad you’re here!” during Fairy Gala IF Sebek responds, “You should be.”

He also declares that he will be taking first place in the Harveston race, crush anyone who challenges him during New Years and after explaining why he can understand a dialect of fae he follows with, “ARE YOU NOT IMPRESSED?”

Deuce tells him that “Having confidence is fine and all, but you shouldn't make things harder for others. That's just being obnoxious,” and other characters also comment on how condescending Sebek can sound such as Grim, Ace (multiple times), Jack, Leona, Vil, Azul, Idia and Trey.

Examples we have seen include Sebek declaring his superiority over others during Fairy Gala IF, Harveston, and New Years, while during Book 7 he calls Grim and the prefect “the bottom of the Class A barrel.”

It is possible that Sebek’s supposed self-confidence is hiding insecurity: Lilia says he suspects Sebek was “terribly anxious” until receiving his acceptance letter to NRC, as his magic manifested late and he might have question if he was a worthy enough mage to attend the school.

Lilia explains, “He's a calm, clever boy... when Malleus isn't involved, that is. So l'm certain he could objectively evaluate his own magic.”

Silver says that Sebek had been devastated when Silver’s magic manifested first, and Lilia says that Sebek compensated for his delayed magic with smarts and stamina, working doggedly to improve the skills he had: “I suspect that training is what really got him here. You won’t find many people as hardworking as he. Sebek’s conviction is a powerful thing indeed.”

🫂 and 🎶 for the ask game?

🫂- How does your F/O comfort you when you're upset?

Yuuri isn't the best at comforting people but they sure do try. They are the type to bring someone all their favorite things in the hope of lifting their spirits (for Sebek, this is food). They don't always know what to say but they will always listen and tell Sebek that he's "very valid" (among other things). They are very affectionate which can accidentally startle the emotions out of Sebek and fluster him instead. They are a calming force just by being his partner.

"What? Tell me about what happened!! I'm here for you!"

Sebek grows into becoming a good listener as he comes to understand humans and human culture (and mature some). He is very dedicated and protective and will sometimes become invigorated at the idea that his partner is upset. Yuuri is also a loud person so they sometimes just scream together until they feel better (like long ranting sessions). He offers this outright.

"YUURI, DO YOU NEED TO SCREAM OUT YOUR UPSET?"

Recently, what has reminded me of SebeYuuri has been this song by MilkyyMelodies Hazbin Hotel AU song Forever Longing because of a planned storyline for Yuuri and Sebek to be separated by Sebek's return to Briar Valley or from Yuuri's return to her own world.

The song that reminds me of them constantly, though, is Madilyn Bailey's Dusk Till Dawn. They are always there for each other even if they annoy everyone else with how loud and screamy they can (lovingly) be.

sebek Zigvolt deserves more appreciation

I just like them as so much as characters.

rook is unapologetically himself. He stays true to himself and his ideals no matter what anyone says. Even though literally everyone, including his closest friend Vil, thinks he's weird and even off-putting. Don't get me wrong about Vil. He and Rook are amazingly close but there are multiple instances where Vil finds Rook irritating. He is often told in some manner to curb himself, to tone down his passion for finding the beauty & positivity in all things. All he does is be unabashedly genuine & passionate & artistic & honest. He's also one of the few characters who is relatively kind to Game Canon You from beginning to end in game Canon. In multiple instances in his dialogue he invites others to join him in his hobbies and activities and despite being faced w/ hostility. Even on his birthday, Malleus did not want to go despite sending an invite-which yes Mal can have preferences - but still the fact that the King of lonely rejects an invite shows how fairly isolated Rook is. Yet despite criticism from all around, he maintains this unending positivity & drive to improve. I love Rook hunt

Sebek too. He is a very driven & honest Character. In multiple vignettes he is shown to be helpful, to Show care, to Show admiration for skill in his peers. Yes, he is standoffish. However, he is not deceitful nor manipulative nor does he seem to intend harm unlike a great deal of many especially early on. A lot of comments about humans seem to stem from internalized racism. There is a lot of canonical instances discrimination against fae, especially those who are notably different dwarves & the pixies. So it would be unsurprising if Sebek also grew up under discrimination AND scrutiny both from human community & the fae Community. We know that his grandfather Baul is very vocal about his disapproval of his fae daughter's marriage w/ a human. Yet despite this, he still does his best & still clearly cares. He grew up w/ parents who went against a lot of opposition to be together and are very loving and likely took some of that determination & attitude w/ him in life. He will give praise for skill and will help those he can. His circumstances & upbringing (Scrutiny & discrimination from both fae & humans, even his own grandfather though he mentions that progress has been made there). Despite all of this, he is doing his best and is a wonderfully genuine and honest and expressive and determined guy

So yeah

I love Sebek and Rook. They're great characters and I think they need more appreciation.

Ramshackle Coffin - Yuu (Yuuri) & "Black Rabbit Candy"

While templates were used for these, I drew them and it took me more time than I thought but less than what it could have if I had been a perfectionist. Yuuri's candy/logo comes from a hairclip that they wear that isn't in some Picrews/art. I need to draw it/them.

Yuuri may eventually get a Diasomnia Coffin as they are honorarily in the dorm through their relationship with Sebek. And even a Scarabia one through their friendship with Kalim (and Jamil). This coffin is the Diasomnia template with pink instead of green.
