I am Youssef from Gaza, father of Lana, Abdul Karim, and Adam. My home was destroyed and we are living in tents under the scorching sun. My wife is eight months pregnant and her health is difficult due to malnutrition. Be in my place. How would I wait for my child, who was born in poor condition? My heart is broken. I dreamed of a wonderful life to spend with them, a dignified life. A life not filled with death, fear, destruction, and deprivation. I wanted to fill his room with toys and his closet with clothes. I wanted to buy him children's books, but I couldn't. The war came and my hopes were shattered. My goal became providing him with a 70-pound carton of milk and food. I can barely afford anything. Everything is expensive, and we no longer have the income to buy his needs. Bayd Al-Karam has been deprived of many of his basic needs. He has been deprived of security and stability. No fruits, no meat, no flour. A kilo of flour costs £30. Vegetables are exorbitantly expensive. A kilo of tomatoes costs £20, a kilo of eggplant £20, a head of garlic £25, a kilo of peppers £25. Nothing but fear fills my children's eyes. As soon as they hear the sounds of explosions around them, they start crying. Today, a kilo of onions costs £70, a kilo of zucchini £30, and a kilo of lemons £50. Water is undrinkable, and we struggle to obtain it through waiting in line, and most of the time, we are unable to obtain it.

Why are we condemned to live through all this agony? Why are we thrown into hunger, cold, fear, and slow death?!

Here is my story. My family of five and I were living a peaceful and stable life in our beautiful little house. We worked hard to provide a decent life for our three children, and they were proud to see our children learn and grow in a safe and stable environment. But in a sudden moment, their lives changed forever.

The disaster happened when our house was completely destroyed due to the war. They lost everything: their home, their source of income, and even their children’s education. They became homeless and insecure, living in difficult and dangerous conditions. The children, who used to go to school with joy and hope, are now deprived of their most basic rights to education, and live in constant fear.

And now. My husband and I are trying hard to secure their basic needs, but we face great challenges. Every day is a struggle for survival, and an attempt to rebuild what they lost. Despite the pain and suffering, there is still hope in our hearts that we can rebuild our lives with the support of kind people. 💔🙏🙏

Do u know what's DISGUSTING? It's when you have to remove insects from the only loaf of bread you're allowed to eat each day, but to make fun of ourselves, we call these insects "free protein." And as the saying goes, when you're hungry, your mind shuts down. Now I cover my nose when eating a loaf of bread so I don't smell it, and I avoid looking at it so I don't see the insects… But that's not important, there's worse. Malnutrition is starting to affect my 6 y.old brother , as intestinal worms are eating away at her body from the inside out and destroying her health. With 28 family members to take care of, they can barely afford to buy food, because of the high prices. Especially since they now have to pay $500 for a bag of flour and $100 for a kilo of sugar in Gaza!

Ibrahim has a chance to escape Gaza and reunite with his sister in Canada since their application for family reunification has been approved. However, they struggle to save money for the travel costs since they can barely afford to buy food to sustain themselves!

I once had a modest but loving home with my husband, Mohammad, and our four children: Mahmoud, Somaya, Mostafa, and little Sila.

Our house was small, but it held our world — filled with warmth, laughter, and dreams.

Mohammad worked as a tailor, using his hands to stitch dignity into our days, providing just enough for us to live in peace.

But in a single, brutal moment… everything disappeared.

An airstrike hit our neighborhood.

Our home collapsed under the force of the explosion.😭💔

We escaped with nothing — not clothes, not memories, not even the toys my children cherished.

Mohammad’s tailor shop was demolished by Israeli bulldozers, leaving him without work, without tools, without hope.

Studying for a degree is challenging in many different ways, from the endless deadlines, essays, exams, to juggling that part-time job to support yourself while doing all that. If you find university difficult, imagine how difficult it must be for university students in Gaza! All universities in Gaza have been bombed, and while students are trying to continue their studies online, it is extremely hard to find reliable Internet and stable electricity for them to do so!

The Ihyaa Foundation is a Gazan youth-led iniative that provides a free space with electricity and Internet connection for university students so that they can continue their studies and take their exams! The initiative also provides books and stationery for students who are unable to afford them!

They need to collect $2,000 by this Monday so that they can rent a room with Internet for students to continue their studies!
