Thinking about updating the fanfictions I haven't touched in months or years now. Might be homophobic not to since it's pride month :/

I have become illuminated to the ship of Wriothesley x Lyney. You can't tell me that the enemies to lovers potential and sexual tension wouldn't be off the charts. The two start off as frenemies with benefits because Arlecchino needs a Fatui agent to be in contact with the Fortress. But they find out there are feelings there as they uncover each other's masks?? Lyney and Wriothesley discover true trust in each other, and finally talk things out. PLEEAAASE I NEED MORE OF THEM DESPERATELY

Ok so Lyney is the flirtatious femboy the fandom has been waiting for.

I'm tempted to write a short fanfic for Aether and Lyney because I think the pairing has a lot of possible ship dynamics. Go for the angst angle with Fatui stuff, fluff for the sake of it, or literally anything else.

Lyney is a pretty 2D character if you just need flirting, but his lore and backstory is extremely interesting. For fanfiction purposes you could warp him to fit so many different dynamics. He's so flexible :)

Neuvillette turning out to be so babygirl and a fandom favorite overnight wasn't on my bingo card for Fontaine.

I thought he'd just be some character people thirst over. All I expected was for him to be a foil for Furina. But Fontaine is turning out to be pretty interesting.

Also I can't wait to see Neuvillette interact with Wriothesley. I just know the fan content is going to be so good. All I want is a hurt/comfort fic whose premise has to do with the Hydro Dragon's tears.

I'm excited to see who people ship Focalors with in Genshin. For now I don't see anybody that could be shipped with her that really does it for me personally.

Except perhaps I'm not really excited. I'm mostly just scared. The archon's history of shipping is varied. Zhongli has one super popular ship everyone knows. Ei is obviously with Yae. I personally think Venti goes best with Xiao, but I don't know if he has one perfectly concrete ship. Nahida's a child and I'm glad I never see ships with her in them.

Hoyo has a tendency to create characters in pairs for automatic investment and/or shipping. Think Beidou & Ningguang or Kaveh & Alhaitham. There are platonic pairings in there too like Nahida & Wanderer.

Focalors does have Neuvillette as her most explicit partner right now. But that ship doesn't satiate my soul. He seems like a proper fellow that just wants to keep up the law. But Focalors? I want her to be a gremlin. I need her to be absolutely insane and evil.

As such I expect people to ship her with whoever is the most unhinged and in opposition to her in Fontaine. Oh wait that's Arlecchino. Huh

As an asexual & gray aromantic I often find myself asking why the fuck I am constantly writing romance fanfiction.

But I also feel like the answer to that is pretty obvious. I'm a human and humans crave intimacy and connections with others.

Except sometimes it feels like my romance stories aren't quite right. I do the build up and pining, but I never feel the need to make another character look at someone else and get the hots for them. Sexual tension is also a thing I don't care for at all.

This is kind of a shame because I miss out on a large portion of what a lot of people in fandoms enjoy.

I do enjoy the sexy times in some stories, but only if it's character before kink. And yes, I will always kink shame the author if they prioritize their sexy times over the integrity of the character.

Anyway, this is all just a long way of saying I don't enjoy sex scenes. Writers are really out there mashing two characters together like dolls for 0 reason besides them being horny.

Sampard idea because they're all I care about now:

Me and My Husband animatic! Sampo-centric with angst.

The animatic opens with the classic sigh and a shot of Sampo, tired and all alone. This would be used to show that despite all the charisma and antics he's unhappy.

Sampo feels unloved and as if the whole universe thinks nothing of his existence. Except there is Gepard who would be the "My Husband" in this animatic.

He expresses that Gepard is the only constant that he's ever had, even if Gepard hates him.

Sampo expresses how much of a clown he thinks he really is. But Gepard is what keeps him going.

I'm not an artist so I can't give real concepts for visuals. But I'd imagine that moments where we see Sampo's thoughts on himself would be drawn with darker colors. And when we see what others think of Sampo the colors are brighter. It'd also be cool if the animatic was shot like a chase.

But the fun thing would be we see Sampo chasing after Gepard. You see, it's good because that's depressing.

I really wouldn't refer to any fanfiction as shit unless it's actively hateful.

Even if a fanfic isn't "good" and it doesn't get that many kudos or comments, if writers care that much maybe you're not writing fanfic for the right reasons?

Personally I write fanfiction because I love the characters or the world (or the idea of them) of whatever I'm writing. I want to share my love with people that'll appreciate that.

Ok, ok. I will answer the question originally asked. And my answer is yes. By agreeing, I think that fics with lots of hits but few kudos/comments are "shit".

Except I resent saying that. Why? It means the idea of your story probably drew in a lot of people but it wasn't executed well enough for those same people to like it.

I highlight this because "shit" fics should be allowed to exist. Bad or mediocre art makes up the majority of what's out there. That should be accepted.

If you don't get many kudos or comments but lots of hits my advice is to keep writing. You'll improve as time goes on and if you're writing out of passion, I think you'll be fine anyways. Keep at it!

So, yeah.

Real talk, if your fic gets a fair amount of hits on AO3 but no comments or Kudos, does that mean it's shit?

I told myself I wouldn't play Honkai: Star Rail because Genshin is enough for me. But I'm gay as hell and Sampo x Gepard calls me. They're just SO. I want to chew on both of them.

Chapter 4 update! Story summary: Guizhong died 2 years ago. Zhongli has grieved, and now dates Ajax. But his adoptive son has not moved on. Xiao boils in silence every dinner, and every night Ajax stays over until he's assigned to a project with Venti. His life begins to change.

Chapter 4 excerpt:

"Fine, you're right. Zhongli said it would take time for him to open up to me. I've been over at their place so much this summer and each time Xiao hides in his room. But I haven't been trying hard enough. After all, if things go as planned he'll be family one day," Ajax grinned weakly at the idea. What a fool.

Ajax stood, and with a sunset smile, he faced Yelan and said, "I'll be worthy. I'll prove it to you, Agent 303."

"Somehow, I doubt that," Yelan said over her shoulder, having stood with him.

"You didn't say I wouldn't."

The office door closed softly behind him. The sound of it is as abrupt to the room as his presence had been.

I just got an idea to base a fanfic around. So character A got hurt really bad and is in the hospital. Character B goes to visit, and puts up a front of being ok and being super reassuring with character A. The two have pinned after one another for a long time, and character A doesn't want to worry about character B who not long ago was close to death.

The main premise I'm getting at is this:

Character A visits character B and shares all types of stories of how their friends and family have been doing. Eats next to them, all while putting up a soft smile. After their visiting time is up, they keep the smile as they talk to staff on the way out.

But once they get to their car, this person breaks down. Starts sobbing, their breath hitching as they bury their face into their hands. Throw in incoherent yelling in there for spice. Bonus points if it's raining!

Does anyone know if there are Zhongchi fics where after Zhongli retires as archon, he decides to side with the Fatui/Tsaritsa? It honestly really seems like all the archons are awfully passive about the Fatui gathering all the super powerful Gnosis. So what if Zhongli became a harbinger, or perhaps a co-head of the Fatui alongside the Tsaritsa?

A story like this could be played for some golden crack, or it could be a 250k word fic where in the end all archons fight and defeat Celestia/the Abyss or whatever. Or perhaps both, both are good.

But would it be a slowburn Zhongchi, or would they already be in love beforehand? There's so much potential here and I don't have the stamina as a writer to do it justice.

I always debate whether or not to include modern concepts or technology in my works. On one hand, it dates the artwork but is that entirely a bad thing? Being timeless is ultimately impossible because the artist creating the work is a product of their time. Modern concepts are going to find their way into the work somehow. A painting technique, certain words, philosophies. This is my excuse for inserting memes into my art LMAO

80% Rule

I don't know who originated it, but I heard it from Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions on Youtube. So instead of putting in 100% on one project which burns you out massively, you put in what feels like 80%. And man, that was the advise I really needed. When editing my chapters I always feel like I have to offer my readers an absolute masterpiece. But like, I write fanfiction and I write for free. Instead of spending hours making minor changes that only make my work sound a little flashier I can move on to the next chapter.
