This post is just to see if this blog is still visibile or not, because recently I had problems with it (couldn't see my posts in the tags, couldn't see my replies in the comment sections of other posts). I usually don't repost this kind of posts, but I have so much going through my mind right now and I just have to write it down.

I know exactly how that boy is feeling. I was bullied when I was a kid, and continued to get bullied for many, many years. I was bullied for the way I looked, the way I dressed, and all the times I acted different from the norm.

After some time, tired of the way things were, I decided to just stop. I began dressing myself simpler, I started to talk less, because I thought that maybe, just maybe, they would have stopped making fun of me if I comformed. If I stood out less. I remember not buying clothes I really liked because I thought the others would find them extravagant. I even remember curling up perfectly my hair, then washing them up before going to school because I thought they were going to laugh at me. For some curled up hair.

One day I came home to school crying because I didn't like my glasses, because I thought they made me look ugly. But the truth was that I didn't think they were ugly, I thought the others would find them (and me) ugly. So, my father sat next to me, looked me in the eyes and said: "Sofia, it doesn't matter what you look like, how you dress, how you act. People are always going to find something to make fun of. So, in the end, you might as well just be yourself. People are going to criticize you the same, but at least you'll get to say, at the end of the day, that you were true to yourself, that you did what you liked, lived how you wanted. And remember: the world can be ugly, but you are not."

This is, and will always be, the most beautiful, honest and precious thing he said to me, and the best lesson I learned from him.

Because it is all true. And I just wish Evan knew it too.

And his mother is right: children really need to understand that words hurt more than punches sometimes. Parents need to acknowledge that children can learn a lot more than they think is possible from a very young age.

To Evan and all the people who, like me, suffered or are suffering from being bullied, just remember that you really are not alone in this, and that one day things will be better. But, most importantly, remember that the world can be ugly, but you are not. You are beautiful and precious just the way you are.

By the way I have NEVER been more excited over a single footage that doesn't even show the character. The Green Goblin is probably my favorite Spiderman villain and all it takes is a frame of one of his bombs to make me shiver. I just HOPE with all my heart that he will be played by William Dafoe, cause he was brilliant in the role.

I don't know how many times Loki as to say this for the people around him to understand that what he ultimately seeks isn't power, but affection.

This, as a comic book reader, makes me a little sad. It really hurts that because of the Captain Marvel movie a lot of people find Captain Marvel boring. In the comics, she's the complete opposite: she's kind, fierce, loving, she cares deeply about all the people she saves, she has a strong moral code and the personality of a leader. And she's not just "brute strenght", she's really intelligent too.

The Captain Marvel movie didn't do her justice: it didn't explain her motivations, the inner conflicts she's often put through in the comics, her fragile side. I think they wanted to give us a hero that was "strong and badass", that wasn't weak. But ultimately, they just bumped into another stereotype: that kindness, love, emotions make women weak. This is just not true. As the perfect example, look at Wonder Woman. She's a Goddess whose strenght is defined by her love, by her kindness. Would people say she's weak because of that?

I think Marvel understood this with Wanda: her strenght derives from her emotions, from the pain that should make her weak, but instead it makes her strong. I just hope Marvel is going to explore better Captain Marvel so more people can love her, because she is a great character.

I don't want to join the company of shitty men harassing Brie Larson but Captain Marvel is just not a very interesting or compelling character. Her defining characteristic is just brute strength. It's like a parody of why people think Superman is boring.

Alright, I'd like to talk about this moment:

Look at his face and the way he says it. It looks like he is not surprised at all about the fact that he considers the other Lokis as "monsters", and you want to know why?

Because of this. Remember that this is 2012 Loki, who just a year before had discovered he was "the monster that parents tell their children about at night". He had believed it, and I think he still believes it. He's not surprised because that's all he thought he could be, until Mobius told him he is not meant to be a bad person, if he doesn't want to. But a thought like that doesn't wash away that easily. That's why I find this scene was brilliant, and deeply sad.
