Outsiders rant. SPOILERS!!!

You know what's absolutely crazy? Everybody's ages.

Pony's young. 14's young, he's the baby. But the way Johnny's described, so young and weak, I feel like Pony's 16 and Johnny's freaking 12.

And even worse? DALLAS IS 17. ONE YEAR OLDER THAN JOHNNY!!!! The way they act, Johnny is the baby. And with all Dally's been through and how everyone treats him, I keep thinking he's 22. I feel like yeah, Darry relatively fits as 22(though I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he's barely older than some of my friends). A freaking 17 year old traveling around the country and committing many crimes and even committing suicide at the ripe age of 17? Baffling.

Sodapop Curtis is 16. SIXTEEN!!! The same age as Johnny, the scared little baby puppy who'd been kicked too many times. Soda seems 16ish, but it's still kinda weird in comparison. He smokes, has sex, has a job, AND is raising a kid.

And I always forget about him, but Two-bit. He's 18 and a half. Not the oldest, yeah, but how is he older than Soda AND Dally?! Again, I feel like Dally acts way older, and the fact that Soda may or may not be a dad at 16 is kind of scary.

And I'm not even going to get into the talk of how young these kids are dealing with drugs and sex, because I know it was also viewed way differently back then. But they're honestly all kids, and either had to grow up fast, or act younger than they are as an almost survival resopnse.

UPDATE: It was super fun, but I didn't see anyone I knew. I handed out some stickers to cops and gave decorated clothespins to people. There was a guy with a megaphone saying "Donald Trump has a small penis!" and "J.D. Vance is a bottom!"(someonne shouted 'we don't claim him!') and everyone would clap each time. He followed around Christian protestors(nothing against Christians, I just hate jerks) and said stuff. And there's a bunch of free goodies as always.

American public school locker room

I have a locker room update! So, the gym is closed because they're redoing the resin coating or whatever, so we're allowed in the locker rooms and have gym outside. The reason we won't have them next year is because they fired our only female gym teacher since so many kids are leaving. And with no female teacher to watch the locker rooms, they just decided it's better to have no locker rooms. So I guess they'd rather have girls changing in front of the old male teachers than let them have a locker room. Plus, there's a female staff lady who's always in that hallway anyway and we all like her.

Anyways, I love when people vandalize and it just represents humanity.

I may or may not have put the trans sticker my friend gave me.

There are two sides to every kid. Especially toddlers.

My friend moved when her sister was around four, and the little girl told me that they were giving the house to homeless people so they could stop sleeping in tents(they did not, in fact).

This is the same girl who would pretend to kick me and my friend(her sister) while we pushed her on the swing, yelling "Kill-bird!" and cackling maniacally when we pretended to fall dead.

Being A Gifted Kid

It's not being overly genius and having everything easy

It's staring at the word "nos"(Knows) and wondering why it looks weird

It's being bored in class

It's getting answers but not knowing the formula

It's not getting the material until the day before the test

It's crying over homework just like everyone else

It's comparing yourself to the other smart kids, needing to be more like them

It's never feeling good enough

It's knowing the inevitable future of working until you burn out
