Ward of the Cold
┌── •✧• ──┐
" Look at you, Ward of the Sea The mirror does not lie, it does not conceal It will show you the eyes of a killer, cold and remorseless Look down to see sharp teeth, bared to kill the hopeless that evolution has deemed as prey Lift up those claws, pointed like spears carefully designed to poke and prod at your living toys And smile to show that cunning demeanor as you play with the lives of those you destroy. Oh, Ward of the Sea, you are built for the cold Both inside and outwards, in lands where not even the bold may go. The darkness in your eyes is evil and cruel You are a monster Through and through. "

Killer whale mer-folk are not very common in the Oceans.
The earliest of their species made the unfortunate habit of playing into their instinctive, animalistic nature. They were sadists, psychopaths, and, more importantly, killers.
Because of this, other merfolk feared Orca-mers more than any other species, and actively avoided them. As most Pods of Orca-mers were nomadic, townspeople would have riots as any passed through their territory, inciting violence on the Killer Whales without provocation. Some of the Orcas enjoyed this game, using it as an excuse to attack townsfolk and give into their nature. However, most began to fear for the lives of their families and children, and began to migrate onto land for safety.
The Orcas who remain in the ocean still are either extremely solitary creatures who avoid other merfolk like the plague, or they're dangerous criminals who take advantage of the stigma that is applied to their race.
---
The Ringwater Pod, Tallulah's family, was one of the "miscreant" type of Orcas. The Pod went from town to town, causing mayhem and chaos, as well as just doing whatever they wanted to.
Tia's mother was the matriarch of the Pod, and every bit as "traditional" to the cunning and cruel nature that they were stereotyped as. Tallulah's father, a surprisingly kind and gentle man (I mean, not that that's odd for an orca, but his wife is WACK in the head lmao how did they even get married-), wanted a better life for his daughter, and ran off to live on the land with Tallulah when she was around 10 years old.

Tia’s Nighmare
This is a WIP of a comic I’m trying to do….trying….
It takes place during book 7, in Tallulah’s mind whoooooooo
I feel like there’s so much story potential in book seven….like, what if Malleus couldn’t control everyone’s dreams completely, and some ended up living through their worst nightmares instead of their perfect world????
Also I’m convinced that everyone in the in the spell-induced dreams (other than Malleus, the dreamer, and any “guests” all have buttons as their pupils. For sillies.

Oooh Alice's madness returns?!? AND TWST
I had the game for years now and the visuals are just very unique
It wouldn't be nice to compare crowley to the therapist that Alice has in the orphanage since the therapist has done some uhh questionable stuff to say the least! But the whole thing with their relationship is that the therapist is trying to blurr out or full on erase Alice's memories because if she connects the pieces then she would discover the heck ton of crimes he has made i think that a yuu with a crowley that is actively trying to manipulate yuu's memories out of selfishness I think that the therapist said "But you were too stubborn.." when he actually gets confronted by Alice and he tells her about how he was planning on doing the same thing he did with other children to her but that she just refused to accept it and continued to explore and find out for herself
The final scene of the game it shows how Alice embraces her Wonderland self and can actually heal moving on
Alice asylum was meant to show the same journey of trauma but more expanded? In a way? The concept dresses are really beautiful and imo can really show out the phase it's trying to portrait (And also baby kitten cheshire!!!) the denial dress is so beautiful to me
I think that Alice irl and Wonderland Alice are very different and I think that Wonderland Alice is really the version Alice can be
The ruins and the infernal train GODDDD
I actually have so much love for this game that i have incorporated some of the elements of the game into my own hcs of twst as a world and created ocs out of it
Hehe i forgot to say hi I am just very excited to see someone see the vision yk?
AHHHH SO MUCH!!!
I swear, I learn more and more about this game every passing day, and despite how interested I am in it, I still haven't watched any play-throughs of it LOL-
As usual, thank our local Anon McGee for their vision that's been so graciously shared to us all in turn!
I think once I watch the actual game, I'll be able to write a oneshot that's in a lot more detail and with a lot more of the original game's mechanics embedded into the Twisted Wonderland storyline!
But, I mean, in regards to Crowley and the Therapist...are we SURRRRRE he doesn't deserve to share the same role as him? I mean, he is actively putting Yuu's life in danger in the game, and doesn't even try to help. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to make Crowley's character be a little more antagonistic to Yuu/Alice like the therapist, would it?
EDIT:
I have been informed that said Therapist is not the best with Children in the inappropriate sense! OKAY
SO
Maybe he WOULDN'T be the exact same as the Therapist, but he's definitely still up to some shady stuff. Probably.
Maybe.

When Yuu wants things done on the sly? of course they pick Ruggie over Floyd and jade. The twins are a lot of things but not subtle. Helps that Yuu can easily pay Ruggie off with doughnuts they ether make with Trey or get from him.
The tweels are...how do I say this....LOUD. They cause a ripple (heheh get it? Because they're fish people??) on campus wherever they go. After all, that is their job, pretty much! They cause as much of a scene as they can so that word gets out around that they're not trivial rivals. Azul knows this, of course, which is why he keeps the twins employed as his seconds-in-command (besides the fact they're friends, too, lol).
So, in summary, the Twins act like they do for the sole purpose of making people shake in fear and therefore, reduce the risk of people trying to cross them.
Now, with Ruggie, his goals and priorities are different. Raised broke as dirt, everything he does is an act of survival- or just to get something he wants at the time. Unlike the Tweels, he doesn't benefit from people being intimidated by him...quite the opposite,, in fact! Besides the main point of people not really being intimidated by a scrawny little hyena, the more people who know what Ruggie is up to, then the more wary they'll be around him. So it stands to reason that Ruggie is always operating in the shadows.
If Yuu wants something done? The tweels might be the way to go more often than not (if they can be persuaded into acting without Azul getting wind of it and insisting on a contract), since they get results quickly without much resistance. But if you need something done that's a little more low-key, then guess who's your man?
That's right, the shifty hyena!
Of course, it's gonna cost you. Either in Thaumarks or food. Even a box of donuts will suffice for most jobs you want done!

Hello! May i have a request with Jade and the reader who is experienced on hiking and camping.
When reader found out that there is something relate with camping or mountain expedition club (the Mountain Appreciation Club) they immediately wanna join the club.
Jade might surprise (or amused) on how well prepared they were and reader explaining that they were one of the member hikers as a 'Gadget Hiker' and ever went to Appalachian Mountain that is one of a dangerous mountain when at night.
I hope you like the idea and have a good day! 💞
Fun Fact! .....mmm, Jade go brr.
He's such an interesting character to me because he plays his cards so close to his chest. Like, we get why Azul is the way he is because we know his backstory. Floyd is pretty much an open book. But Jade? He's just a silly guy who keeps his thoughts to himself. But is still just as terrifying as his twin!
So fun!
Anyway, I love the request, and I hope I do it justice here!
I got a lil carried away :/
╔═*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*═╗
Being bored was something you never thought would happen in this world. There was far too much for you to do, after all! You had to survive, for one thing. You had to help Crowley with his work! You had to clean on campus and fix up Ramshackle the best you could! You had to study for classes that you couldn't even take exams for half the time due to your lack of magic! You had to make sure Grim didn't fail his classes, because if he failed, you would, too! You had to help other students with their emotional issues! You had to-
But after some time, the distress and anxiety it all caused you to think about became...rather mundane. The worry of what might happen and what tomorrow might bring didn't seem so terrifying to think of. It had become your norm, after a while. You weren't too sure if it was a necessarily good or bad thing, but at least you weren't constantly burnt-out and an anxious mess!
With this newfound inner peace, however, came the inevitable "boredom". Or something like it. The craving for something new.
Or something reminiscent.
Walking out of Alchemy class after a particularly rough day, you hoisted Grim up onto your shoulders- as became the norm, since his stubby legs couldn't keep up with your gait- and began the trek back to Ramshackle.
But something caught your eye as you passed by the main corridor of the building. A cork-board with many different posters and papers on it that you couldn't even see the board underneath it anymore. Some of the papers were pinned with the same tack, some were stacked up so tightly that they fell to the ground in a cluster of assorted papers.
There were a variety of things to catch your eye on there- job advertisements, offerings for contracts, odd jobs to do around school, study tips, tutoring help, library hours, all sorts of things that would pertain to students at NRC.
But the one that caught your eye most was a club poster. It wasn't very good, by any means. A plain white background with basic pictures of mushrooms, trees, and fauna placed carefully around the print in the center of the page.
"Mountain Lover's Club
Meets at 5'oclock every Wednesday, Room 2-B"
There were no names signed on the paper to show who owned the club, nor the other members in it, but the word "mountain" was enough to send a delighted chill up your spine.
The intense memories of your old world, of the birds in the trees, the sound of wind rushing through bushes and water running nearby, of the feeling of rocks underneath your feet and rough tree bark scraping across your hands flew through your mind, and you stared at the paper for a minute longer than you should have.
"Oi, Hench-human!" Grim yowled, smacking his paw across your face (gently, of course, and without his claws out) to get your attention "What're you staring at that for? I'm hungry!"
"Hm?" Jolted out of your thoughts, you glanced to Grim with an absentminded smile "Oh, yeah, sorry about that. Let's get back home," as an afterthought, you glanced at the paper one last time, memorizing the time and room number before continuing on your trek "And if you ever hit me again, Grim, you're going to have to sleep on the floor."
𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊
"Room 2-B, 2-B, 2-B," You repeated under your breath like a mantra, walking through the halls of the main building an hour after dropping off Grim at the dorm. It felt odd to be in here after class, you thought to yourself. It didn't seem like the same place without a horde of students rushing to their next classes, or idly standing in the hallway taking up space.
Of course, there were other clubs meeting in this building, and occasionally one or two students would pass by you, or you would walk by a room with several students quietly chatting inside, but even so. It still felt empty.
You crossed your arms together, peering at every room's door, looking for the right number combination. Eventually, you stumbled onto lucky Room 2-B! The wooden door was open slightly ajar, so you knocked quietly on it before pushing it open the rest of the way, stepping inside.
It was a classroom you've never been in before, but looked to be something relating to math, given the half-erased equations up on the chalkboard. Chairs and desks were pushed neatly to the walls of the room to allow for more floor space, and there were a stack of textbooks underneath one of the desks. Something that wasn't part of the classroom, you could guess, was the folding table set up in the middle of the room. Set on top of it was a cage, of sorts, made up of glass.
"Hello?" You called out, wincing at how loud your voice sounded in the empty room. Huh. No one was here. But this was the right room, you were sure of it. Maybe the group went out to get something and would be back soon? Either way, you could afford to spare a few minutes waiting on them.
So you curiously stepped forward, towards the table, leaning down a bit to properly look at the cage. A terrarium, you knew by looking more closely at it. Inside was a pile of loose, fluffy dirt, and on the table beside it, laying on a towel, were small containers. Some were filled with more of the dirt, one had different colored moss, one had what looked to be seeds in it, and one (with the lid tightly firm on it) held a mess of squiggling insects that looked similar to the ones on your world, but too different to be exact.
The sound of footsteps, light on the floor, could just be faintly heard before someone entered the room. Before you could turn around, you heard them ask "Can I help you?"
To say you were frightened after turning to face the person would be an understatement. To say you almost had a heart attack would also be an understatement.
You turned, and for a moment, you got a flash of when you had last met this man. Sharp teeth, sharp claws, a predatory look in his eyes as he twirled around your group like a cat playing with his food.
He stared at you, baring his teeth in a sadistic grin, his brother beside him mimicking the same expression.
"Now, now, it wouldn't do for you to accomplish your task so easily now, would it~?"
You let out a breath, taking an instinctive step back. Which, unfortunately for you, was right smack into the table behind you.
Jade's eyes grew wide as the polite, forced smile left his lips, and he moved far too quickly for someone of his size, darting not towards you, but for the objects behind you. He wedged himself between you and the table, grabbing onto the table itself with one hand, and steadying the terrarium and containers with his other arm; while propping you up so you wouldn't stumble any more.
"Careful!" He hissed, as you practically shoved yourself off of him and moved closer to the door.
You tried to catch your breath- it all happened within a few seconds of him coming into the room, and frankly, you didn't have the mental fortitude to process it all as fast as it occurred. Lifting up a hand to signal for him to give you a minute (not that it mattered much anyway, since his back was still to you and his attention on the table), you steadied yourself and took the opportunity to examine the situation.
Jade Leech, one of the twins working with Azul, hunched his long figure over the table, his hands darting between containers to check their contents. The last time you saw him was not just when he and his brother were stopping you from reaching the museum during your contract, but when Azul had overblotted. Both of the times you saw them were more than enough to leave a lasting impression on you.
They were formidable in every sense of the word, and in any form they took. In the sea, they were creatures who could squeeze you so tight you'd burst. Fast and deadly, predatory instincts ran rampant through their blood. On land, they were still just as intimidating, with powerful capabilities in magic and physical strength. Together, the twins were an unstoppable force. Even separate, they were immovable objects. With Azul and Floyd, after the incident was said and done with, you knew where you stood with them. Floyd was an open book- he had no qualms with sharing how he really felt, and although he did occasionally have ulterior motives, you knew that he was pretty straight-forward. Azul was standoffish after everything, most likely ashamed and insecure about his show of grand weakness and "cringe", as Floyd put it. Azul left you alone as long as you left him alone.
But Jade? Whoo, boy, that man was an enigma! He was silent, deadly, and just as cunning as Azul was. He was a man of few words, in most situations, and the thought of getting on his bad side was enough to make your stomach queasy.
Oh, well, best to try and get on his good side now, at least.
"I'm sorry- you just- scared the crap out of me," You began, finally able to regain the use of your voice.
Jade straightened himself up, deciding that the objects on his table were no longer in harm's way, and turned to you, a curious look in his eyes "I apologize, as well, I should have known better," He said softly, that same polite smile plastered on his face again.
Oh. You hadn't expected him to apologize. How....strange.
"Ahem, well, I guess we can put it behind us, then," You continued "Is this the room that the Mountain Lover's club meets in?" Please say no, please say I'm in the wrong room, please say no, please say no-
"Indeed it is," He responded with a gentle nod, his smile widening a bit "Do you have interest in mountains, by any chance, Prefect?"
Say no, say no! "I do," You idiot! "I was wondering what all this club does- are the rest of the members coming soon, or...?"
"Oh, no," Jade chuckled, crossing to the other side of the table and taking a seat busying his hands with building the terrarium, packing the soil down on the bottom "I'm afraid it's just myself at the moment. But as for what we- or shall I say, I- do...I hike in the mountains just off-campus and gather specimens I find interesting. Leaves, plants....seeds," He smiled and held up the container that had some small black seeds in it to demonstrate his point. As he sprinkled some of them into the soil, he continued "I also gather different species of wild fungi to experiment with, both in dishes and otherwise, as well as to grow in the Botanical Gardens on campus."
Glancing back up at you with a look that sent goosebumps crawling up your arms, he asked "If you're interested in joining, or, say...wish to understand the 'club' a bit more, then might I suggest joining me for an excursion tomorrow? I'll be spending all of the late afternoon and night looking for nocturnal flora- plants that you can only find during the nightly hours."
You wanted to say no. As much as you loved the mountains, and nature, and missed your home, you wanted to say no.
But the feeling of a cool breeze on your skin, the scent of the trees and flowers, even the itching feeling of unwanted bugs on your skin forced you to open your mouth and say:
"I'd love to."
Jade's teeth clacked together as he chuckled, the sharp things looking as if they might be ready to tear into your skin at any moment. "Wonderful. I'll meet you at the campus' exit tomorrow at...shall we say 5 o'clock? Most classes will be done by then, and it gives you a chance to get homework done." How thoughtful. As a hindsight, he added "And I do hope all of that contract nonsense is water under the bridge, to quote a land-dweller's saying, right?"
You swallowed thickly and forced a smile, flashing him a thumbs-up "Yup! Water under the bridge- I'll see you at 5 tomorrow, bye-" And with that less-than-graceful statement, you ran out of the room as quickly as you could and back to the safety of your own dorm.
𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊
At 4:45 in the afternoon the next day, you set out of your dorm, giving a tearful Grim a goodbye hug and pat. Grim was convinced you wouldn't come back alive. While you hoped otherwise, you couldn't say that you didn't think the same thing. As soon as you told Ace, Deuce, and Grim what you were planning on doing, the entire trio began yelling at you for being such an idiot...and then started mourning for your future demise at the hands of Jade Leech.
"All night, alone! In the secluded mountains! With HIM!" Ace yelled, practically tearing his hair out. As with Grim, you shared Ace's pain. But you needed some sort of connection to your homeworld, and if Jade could show you those mountains and help you establish that connection, then by Sevens, you would go up in the mountains with him!
After the boys finished their pre-funeral for you, you got to work on packing. It was fairly difficult, since you didn't have the privilege of having your old belongings here with you, but skipping out on a class and borrowing some money from Trey (with the promise of working at Sam's shop to pay him back) gave you the opportunity to buy some of the items you would need for the excursion. Bug spray, hiking boots, good pants, a jacket, hat, water, food supplies, sleeping bag (just in case), emergency supply kit, medicine....everything that you packed in your old bag back at home, you bought and packed then and there. Good thing you were used to the heavy backpack, or else you would most definitely be struggling to walk right now! As soon as you tugged that backpack on, all of the old muscles in your back that had been honed to hiking perfection perked right up, almost seeming overjoyed at being used again.
Already at the exit to the school's campus was none other than your new hiking buddy and potential murderer. When he saw you approaching, he made a show of checking the time on his watch "Prefect! You're five minutes earlier than the set time."
"So are you," You pointed out with a small smile.
Jade raised a brow, considering your point "Fair enough. Being early means being on time- being on time is considered being late for some."
"Very wise, Shakespeare." You nodded sarcastically.
"Who?"
"I, uh-" Shoot, new world, they didn't have Shakespeare here! "Nothing. Lead the way, Mister Leech."
Brushing aside your awkward blunder, Jade began to walk off of campus, his own backpack eerily similar to yours, you noticed "Now, during this trip, I will not be sharing any of my supplies unless it is under an extreme circumstance. You had time to prepare ahead, and I expect-"
"I know, I'm good," You interrupted him, holding up a hand as you jogged to walk next to him. You felt better already, more at home, as the two of you made your way to the nearest treeline. The rising slope of the mountain was enough to send an exhilarating rush through your veins.
"Oh, you are, are you?" Jade smirked "We shall see, Prefect, we shall see."
And see he did. The two of you began the trek up the mountain, taking the time to admire every bit and piece that nature had to offer on the way. When an unknown creature came into view, Jade was prepared to pull you back to safety, but was surprised to see you keep your distance, despite curiosity about the animal. When there was a pond, Jade expected you to immediately dunk your water bottle into the water to fill it back up, but was shocked to see you pull out a water purifying device to cleanse it of bacteria before filling up your bottle and offering him the use of the device, as well. Bug spray? You had some already. Bandaid to cover up that nasty-looking scrape from a rock? You had one already out of your bag. When it got dark? You pulled out a lantern of your own instead of mooching off of Jade's light.
"Prefect," He started after a few hours of hiking, his breath heavy from walking so long, but filled with a delighted energy nonetheless "Tell me, how did you know to bring all that you did? I expected to be covering for you left and right, but each time, you leave me in a state of utter confusion."
You laughed at this, pausing to look at an interesting bug perched on top of a branch eye-level to you "Ooh, well, I said that I liked mountains," You explained, catching back up with him "Back on my world, I was pretty into all this nature stuff. Hiking like this was enough of a thrill for me. I know what to pack like the back of my hand, and your world is similar enough to mine that my list of things to pack is still good."
As Jade stopped suddenly and squatted down to dig a peculiar-looking blue mushroom- one of the "nocturnal flora" that he was hoping to find, apparently- you leaned up against a tree.
"I even hiked up on the Appalachian trail way back when."
"The what now?" He asked, pulling out an empty container and gently placing the mushroom inside before locking it and stuffing it back into his bag. He stood up and began to walk again, with you alongside him.
"It's this mountain range back at home. It's considered suuuper dangerous if you don't know what you're doing." You smiled at the memory "There's a lot of things that can go wrong up there. You could get lost, trip and break a leg without getting found for a few days, tons of predators, venomous animals, you name it!" You sighed, closing your eyes for a second as you recalled the feeling you had of traveling that path "Oh, but it was so beautiful..."
Jade was quiet for a moment, and you glanced back over to him to see what if he had wandered off or something. But he was still next to you, as silent as ever. But he was just watching you with a small smile on his face. Not the same smile that gave you the willies, that reminded you of a killer ready to eat his next meal. But one that was a little softer around the edges, one more...genuine.
"What are you looking at?" You asked with a snort, lightly hitting his arm. Imagine if Ace were here to see you hit Jade Leech! He would die on the spot!
"Ooh, nothing, Y/N," He answered quickly, quickening his pace to walk ahead of you "Hurry up, we're nearing the top!"
You just rolled your eyes and tried to match his pace. It was a few minutes before you realized that that moment was the first time he called you by your own name instead of 'Prefect'.
𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊
The top of the mountain was truly a sight to behold. There was a small clearing, and a pond that held even smaller fish inside of it. And alongside all of that, there were a multitude of flowers sprouting up everywhere, despite the colder temperature. They had white buds with a pink dash of color on the outer ridges, and a purple antenna-looking thing stood in the middle of the flower.
"Those are commonly called Dead Lillies," Jade explained once you remarked on their odd looks. He was currently unpacking some of his stuff, since the two of you decided to rest a bit before heading back down "They bloom in colder temperatures, and the stalks contain a sappy liquid that can be used as glue- it's popular amongst hikers, mainly because said sap can close up a wound without introducing toxins to the bloodstream, and because the petals taste of honey."
"Huh," You remarked, tugging off your backpack and sitting beside Jade. He offered you one of the nutrition bars he had brought along for the trip, despite claiming at the beginning that he wouldn't give you anything. Despite you having plenty of snacks, you accepted it with a smile "Pretty cool...you sure do know a lot about land for a mer-thing, don't you?"
"Mer-thing?" Jade gave you a sardonic look "I believe the correct term is mer-man, although what would I know, I'm just a mer-thing!"
"Shut up, you know what I meant!" You reached a hand out and shoved him lightly.
"Fufu, I suppose I do know quite a lot about land for a sea-dweller," He nodded "I find the difference in our plants and nature to be...well, rather fascinating! Under the sea, where my brother and I were raised, at least, it's quite dark. Not much grows under there, and what little does isn't quite as pretty as the flora up here. When we first came to live up here, I was taken aback by the stark differences and felt compelled to look into them more."
"Cool," You agreed, laying down in the grass to look up at the night sky.
This trip certainly was quite a...well, trip. You started out uneasy about it all, to say the least. But as the time dragged on, you noticed a difference in how Jade acted. As soon as he was in nature, not surrounded by students, he was...more calm. Relaxed. He smiled genuinely. He laughed.
And, most importantly, he didn't scare the crap out of you. Unless he wanted to- but even then, you could tell that he was just pulling a prank, and didn't want to genuinely upset or hurt you.
"I quite like the stars," Jade admitted once he settled down into the grass as well, using his jacket as a pillow to rest his head on as he stared up at the sky. His expression was one of utter delight, like a child looking at something wonderful for the very first time.
"Oh?" You questioned, propping your head up with a hand as you glanced at him "Are you interested in Astrology, too? Land and sky?"
The eel-mer waved a hand at you flippantly, not bothering to look at you "No, no, nothing like that. I just...like the way they look." With his mouth slightly ajar, the tips of his bottom teeth barely visible, and the shine of the star's lights in his eyes, he looked...oddly at peace. He finally looked his age. He wasn't the terrifying, intimidating figure that sent most of the students at NRC running away like cowards. Right here, he was...just a teenager. A teenager far, far away from his home that somehow managed to make a new home on land, in the solitude of nature.
You quite liked this teenager, you realized.
Maybe you would join the club, after all.

The next time Azul asks Yuu about a contract I wanna picture Yuu bringing Ruggie or Riddle to read through it. Both aren't letting Yuu be taken advantage of and go through the contract with a fine tooth comb.
It might take a good bit of buttering up to Ruggie to get him to the point where he'll defend you as much as he would any of the children in his neighborhood (or just to see you as a member of his pack lol), but after you increase your friendship status to MAX with the boy (defending him from Leona during book two definitely helps, don't worry), he's going to defend you from all those shady dangers that you wouldn't even have the slightest clue that's happening!
Riddle insists on coming with you because 1) he doesn't like Azul's "shady" contracts and believes that the school would be a MUCH better place without the deals, regardless of if the contracts are technically legal. Plus, after you help him with his overblot, he sees you like one of his own students. And he refuses to idly sit by and watch one of his own sign away their life knowing that he could have prevented that. Well, I mean, he's all for his Heartslabyul student learning their lessons the hard way, so he's pretty much just playing favorites with you lol.
The look on Azul's face as you bring two morally-different guys into his VIP lounge is absolutely hilarious. He tried to get the Leech twins to distract them away from you, but no cigar. They're practically glued to your side, interjecting Azul's speech to ask questions. What's the catch? What's this footnote here say? What's this foreign language you put here?
Needless to say, after this incident, Azul doesn't try and offer you a contract ever again.

Fluff but I picture Trey making it a point to send or give Yuu whatever sweets they have left after unbirthday parties. Since those happen literally everday... Trey might as well be the feeding Yuu and Grime. Both for thanks after chapter 1 and trying to manage and handle Deuce along with Ace.
Short lil oneshot (I love Trey sm, he's such a fun guy-)
Can be read as platonic or romantic!
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
"I wanted you to know that everyone here at Heartslabyul really appreciated what you did for Riddle during his...crisis. So please, take this as a show of gratitude.
-Trey"
The little handwritten note was taped to a little white box, tied together with a little jute cord as neatly as could be. The box itself was given to you by a Heartslabyul student after your last class, the student giving you Trey's apologies for not being able to hand-deliver it himself.
Inside were some decent-sized cherry and walnut tarts, lightly dusted with some powdered sugar.
Needless to say, you and Grim enjoyed them together later that night while doing homework.
That one instance was easy enough to excuse, but then the boxes started showing up more frequently.
Sometimes it would be set out in front of Ramshackle's door waiting for you to stumble upon it after classes, sometimes a Heartslabyul student would hand it to you in the halls again, sometimes Ace or Deuce would give it over begrudgingly, and sometimes Trey himself would bring it over with that friendly, endearing smile of his. The more boxes you received, the more likely it would be Trey to bring them over.
"We had extras left over after the Unbirthday party today, and Rule 27 states that no extra food must be thrown out, or the offending party must stand on their head until the sun winks at them," He would offer as an excuse, throwing you a wink of his own.
Or maybe he would say "I baked some of these as an experiment, I'd love to see what you- and Grim, of course- think about it. Honest opinions, only."
Or maybe "I just felt like taking a walk tonight, and decided to bring you guys something. Ramshackle dorm is eating right, aren't ya'll? How about your teeth? With all these sweets, you can't risk getting cavities. I doubt Headmage Crowley will pay for dental care, ahaha."
Or even just "Take some extra sweets for taking good care of Ace and Deuce. Who knows what sort of extra trouble they'd be getting into if they weren't hanging around you guys all the time."
Excuse after excuse after excuse. Soon enough, it got to the point where his visits would be predictable- around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, after his last class ended. The ringing of Ramshackle's old doorbell would make you smile, knowing who was outside pressing the button.
Opening the door to see- who else?- Trey standing there with a sheepish smile and a box in his hands made you flash him a smile of your own.
"So, what's the deal this time?" You asked with a chuckle, leaning up against the doorway.
"Am I that predictable?" Trey laughed in response "Rule 27 again, would you believe it?" He handed the box to you, and you lowered your hands to give it to Grim, who snatched it out of your hands like the greedy little cat he was and ran off to eat it himself.
"I'm starting to think you're making too much food on purpose, you know," You said "Surely you don't like seeing little old me that much, do you?"
Trey shrugged nonchalantly, his tongue sticking out between his teeth in an open-mouthed grin. What a goofball. "You'd be surprised at how much of an agreeable person you are to see when you're surrounded by a bunch of nitwits all the time!"
"Is that an insult or a compliment?" You raised an eyebrow.
"Who knows," He ran a hand through his hair, adjusting his glasses with his other hand "Maybe you should just start joining me in our dorm more often, save me the trouble of walking all the way out here, you know?" Leaning in closer to you, he added in a conspiratorial whisper "Plus, these sorts of desserts taste a lot better right out of the oven, while they're still warm."
"Oooh, how enticing of an offer," Leaning your head back slightly to look Trey in the eyes, you tilted your head "I'll have to think about it, alright?"
Looking slightly disappointed, Trey covered up the look with another smile "Yeah, yeah, I get it. No problem, you'll text me when-"
"I'm just messing with you, dummy," You put a hand over his mouth, squishing the skin and shaking his head side to side "I'd be more than delighted to, as long as you can convince Riddle not to do his whole 'Off with your head' shtick on me."
Trey stuck his tongue out, making you draw your hand back with a disgusted sound "Mm, no promises on that front, but! I can show you a fun time with Doodle Suit, how about that?"
"Hmmm," Pretending to think about it, you snapped your fingers "Can we use it to prank other students?"
"Hmmmm," He mimicked your expression "Sure, why not?"
"Then you have a deal, Mister Clover!"

I'll do some Ace angst. Picture him pulling Yuu aside to vent about not having signature spell. he does admit that its pretty hypocritical he's complaining about not having his own spell to someone that doesn't have magic at all. but he feels like Yuu is the only one he can really talk to about it. Probably says he feels like Deuce is leaving behind and seeing all the others first years have spells doesn't make him feel any better.
ACE ANGST ACE ANGST ACE AN-
not proofread, ofc, because I'm not a nerd and Mama also raised a lazy sissy-
﹌﹌
A signature spell is very personal to a mage. This was one of the very first topics covered in Professor Trein's class regarding magic's history. Signature spells were a sign of power, since only capable magic-users could cultivate one, and they were deeply ingrained in a mage's spirit. They showed the personality of a mage, showed their beliefs, what they would fight for, who they would die for.
Ace knew all of this.
He wasn't too worried with getting his own spell, at first. He was just a freshman, after all! None of his other freshmen peers had their own signature spells, and with the giant ego Ace had, he just assumed he'd find out what his spell was sooner rather than later.
But then Jack revealed that he already had his signature spell, allowing him to transform to his beast form without the use of an illegal Transformation potion.
That was alright, Jack was a try-hard in every sense of the word. Ace shrugged it off and teased the Beastman relentlessly on various wolf-slang. Wow, Jack, you're such an alpha, so red-pilled-
But then Deuce found his spell. A spell that let him take abuse from his attackers and pile-drive it back onto them.
That was fine, right? Deuce was determined to be an Honors student now for his mother and poured all of his effort into learning and being a better person. Ace could let his friend have a win without being sore about it, for sure.
Epel found his after he and the Prefect left to find the Housewardens plus Jamil. He was so excited to show off his new spell to Ace and the others once they were all back at school, wrapping his friends up in a protective coffin and lifting them up into the air before unceremoniously dropping them.
That was....that was okay. Epel's spell saved the Prefect, after all. He couldn't be too upset about it, right?
But Sebek and Silver had their own signature spells, too. Which wasn't too suprising, in hindsight, given their status as Diasomnia students.
But it...it started to hurt a bit.
And as the days wore on, as Ace had time to sit and stew on his newfound place as the only Freshmen in his friend group to not have a Signature Spell....he only got more upset over it.
"Hey, Carrot-top, you coming or not?" Deuce called out, his voice loud enough to be heard over the bustling crowd of students in the hallway. "Mm..." Ace was uncharacteristically mellow, as he had been for the past day or so. He glanced over at Deuce, with Epel and Jack alongside him. They were planning on going off-campus for a shopping trip, hoping to convince Sebek and Silver to join in with them, as well. "Yeah, I think I'll pass," He said with a casual shrug, balancing his textbooks in the nook of his arm.
"Oh-" Epel looked surprised "Are you sure? Why not? We were gonna go to an ice cream shop after- don'tcha love ice cream?"
Ace only tilted his head to the side as he shrugged again "Sorry, I got a lotta homework. You know how Housewarden Rosehearts gets about homework."
"Well, I have a lot of homework, too," Deuce started, glancing at Epel and Jack before stepping towards Ace "I should stay, too-"
"NO!" Ace cried out, lifting up a free hand to shove Deuce's chest lightly. Seeing the look of shock and confusion on his friend's face, Ace cleared his throat, trying to sound a little more agreeable "Sorry, I just- I know how much you were looking forward to this whole thing. Go on, I'll see you guys later."
He was being strangely nice and unusually solemn, his friends knew that, and Ace knew that they knew that. He didn't really care, though. And, like he thought, they eventually gave hushed goodbyes and made their way through the hall and out of the building.
As soon as they were out of sight, the careless smile that Ace had forced onto his face vanished and was replaced by a small scowl. He turned on his heel and walked to the other exit of the building, walking around the edge of the campus to avoid running into his friends again.
He was behind the Library, kicking clumps of dirt up from the ground with every step, when he heard a voice call out to him.
"Ace!" Oh, what fun! It was the Prefect!
Despite his innate desire to remain in a bad mood, Ace couldn't help but feel a slight relief at the sight of them. His scowl lifted into a tight-lipped, hesitant smile "Hey, Prefect!" He held up a finger gun to them, attempting to sound light-hearted. But his voice instead came out wavery, almost pained.
As the magicless student approached closer, they reached out an arm and locked it with Ace's, causing the boy to roll his eyes. Y/N always did enjoy holding onto him in some way since they became friends. It was almost second nature to hold hands or interlock arms while walking.
"So, what's wrong?" Was the first thing they asked, not bothering to tiptoe around the subject.
"Nothing." Ace tried. But of course, that wouldn't work around them. They knew him too well.
"Bullcrap," Y/N said "You were supposed to go shopping with the others today, and instead, you're over here ruining a perfectly good lawn. Plus, Deuce said you had homework to do, so why aren't you doing that?" They tugged on Ace's arm, making him stop, and spun around to look at him better "You've been acting off for a while now. Tell me what's wrong so I can help you. Please."
There was a moment of silence between the two. Y/N, staring intently at Ace, their eyes full of concern and worry for their friend. Ace, looking everywhere but at the Prefect, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.
Then his eyes started to tear up, and before he could stop himself, Ace was crying. A big, heaving mess of a sobbing boy. He held his hands up to his face, trying desperately to wipe away his tears as they fell, to no avail. He hated being like this, especially in front of his friends. He hated crying in general- it was something he thought of as ugly, as something only sissies did. He liked to think he was so strong, so tough, that he wouldn't let anything get him to this point. He was embarrassed, ashamed to be seen like this in front of Y/N.
But to his surprise, he felt them wrap their arms around his back, and Ace leaned down, burying his face into their shoulder and holding them back as tightly as he could, making a mess of their already ratty uniform.
"It's not fair!" He choked out, his voice muffled "I want to have a special spell, too! Why am I the only one who doesn't have one yet? Am I not good enough? Am I not a strong enough mage? Even- Even Epel found his spell before me, and he saved- he saved your life! I can't compete with that, I can't be as strong and as good as everyone else! I'm gonna be as weak as- I'm gonna be powerless. I'm going to be as useless to other people as you are!"
Y/N didn't say anything in response, or maybe they did and Ace just couldn't hear them over his cries. Regardless, once he finally managed to calm down enough to only have a few tears roll down his cheeks, silent as he could get in the situation, The Prefect put their hands on his shoulders and pulled him away, looking him in the eyes.
They looked at him with not pity, nor anger at his apparent insult- as Ace had thought they would- but a knowing face, and a small smile.
"Ace," They started, lifting up their hands and cupping Ace's face in their hands, wiping away the streaks of tears with their thumbs "Is that why you've been so upset? It's not a race to see who can find their own spells first. It's something that comes naturally. It's a coin toss to see who gets it first. It all...depends on the situation, from what I can see."
They glanced to the side quickly before they dropped their hands, locking their elbow with Ace's again and beginning to walk, this time more slowly "Deuce wouldn't have found out his spell for a while if Epel hadn't of said a certain phrase to him, and he wouldn't have known to use it if Vil didn't overblot. Epel wouldn't have found his spell if we hadn't ran off together to do something incredibly dangerous and incredibly reckless...Silver and Sebek don't count, though, since they had a literal war hero as their teacher. And Jack is just...Jack." Ace finally stopped crying completely, and was instead left with shuddery breaths.
"I'm sorry- sorry I called you useless-" he tried to start, but the Prefect interrupted him.
"No, you had a point. In battle, I am useless. I can't use magic at all...But trust me, Ace, you'll find out your Signature spell, too. And you know what?" There was a mischevious look in Y/N's eyes.
"...What?" Ace asked, wiping his face with his free hand.
"I bet your spell will be even cooler that theirs. They'll be, like, totally jealous."
Sniffing, he smiled weakly "You think so?"
"I know so, buddy," Slapping Ace on the back, the Prefect pulled him into another hug "You've been one of my best friends since I've been here, and you protect me whenever you can. You're one of the strongest guys in this school, and don't let anyone tell you anything different, alright?"
"Alright."
"Awesome- now, come on, I'm gonna beat your ass in basketball after you called me a lame, useless nobody."
Ace made a noise as Y/N yanked on his hand "Wait, I didn't say all that, and you said-"
"Too late, prepare to get your butt handed to you in your own sport!"

Random Twisted Wonderland Headcanons I have that I feel the need to share with the world, sucks to be anyone reading this!
KALIM
Kalim wasn't going to be invited to NRC, obviously, since he didn't have "exemplary" magic, as either Jamil or Crowley said in the game (I forgot which, FORGIVE ME), but it's clear that he would have been accepted into Royal Sword Academy due to his nature.
Kalim's family knew that Kalim would have been safer at Royal Sword, but they also knew that the school wouldn't accept their "donations" as well. Plus, they knew Jamil was going to NRC, and knew how much Kalim had bonded to the boy.
And, obviously, Jamil would be more than happy to watch over Kalim and ensure that he gets better at magic and has a good time, right? So off to NRC you go, Kalim! Oh, lookie here, you're in the same dorm as Jamil now! How convenient!
So, to sum it up, the Asim family made sure Kalim got into NRC despite the "dangerous" students because they knew Jamil would be there to protect and serve him. Ouchies
MERFOLK
Two different kinds of merfolk- sirens and fishfolk (aka, the kinds of merfolk desended from animals-- not sure what to call them, so fisfolk is a placeholder lol--, like the tweels and Azul). Sort of the same vibe as Beastmen and humans
While it's not technically cannibalism for a "fishfolk" to eat the creature they're descended from, a lot of cultures believe it to be a sin to do so, and some just get the willies from it.
Nudity is really not a big deal to merfolk. Like, most of them don't wear clothes, and those that do only wear robes and stuff to symbolize their class/status in society underwater. On land, they have to have a crash course in how to wear clothes and what to wear when. Floyd was very prone to accidentally forget to wear clothes and wander the halls of Octavinelle naked during his freshman year (much to the horror of his dorm members)
The Merfolk don't eat each other 24/7, nor pose as much of a threat to each other as wild animals do- some find it extremely offensive that land-dwellers assume all mer-predators eat whatever other merpeople they can sink their teeth into. They live together in a society similar to the one on land. Of course, the elements and wild creatures pose more of a threat to them than natural land-predators, but the merfolk themselves aren't in the habit of killing one another.
HOWEVER, there is a special law amongst them that if another merperson is causing undue harm to them/a loved one, murder is justified. And, of course, they must consume the flesh of the merperson killed and send the head back to the killed one's family for closure reasons. They may not eat each other that often, but in the Ocean, it's more natural and well-accepted to eat whoever you killed (in self-defense, ofc, if it wasn't in self-defense, then you are going to JAIL, queen!) to show that you respected the fight they put up and to honor their memory. It's more of an ancient tradition that's now just a part of what they do.
HEARSLABYUL
This one was brought to me in a VISION (aka me reading part 3 of Cater's Vignette for one of his cards when I noticed the background Heartslabyul students all had Suit characters on their faces)
All of the dorm members are assigned a "card suit" after their orientation- this suit is determined by the Housewarden (who is assigned the role of the "king/queen" of the dorm and doesn't need a suit), who bases his decision off of the personality of the student, their grades, and their ambitions. No one but the Housewarden knows why they're put in the suit they are.
There's a big initiation ceremony when the Housewarden finishes deciding the Suits for the freshmen, and they host a special ceremony in their dorm's yard that involves a series of tasks for the freshmen to go through- involving a maze-run with juniors chasing after them, a hedgehog obstacle course, and a special game that the Housewarden makes per year off of one of the Queen of Heart's rules. Once the initiation ceremony is done, and the suits are given to each freshmen, they will then be responsible for painting their suit on their face wherever they want to for the rest of their time on campus.
IGNIHYDE
For most Housewardens, a student needs to challenge the existing housewarden and duel them to claim their title.
For Ignihyde, they do things differently. Because they're all more skilled in technology for the most part, they'll have a challenge to see who can build something the best (whether it be a robot, a toy machine, etc etc- the decision of what to make will be voted on by the dorm members). At the end of the challenge, all of the students in the dorm will vote on who did the best- but they aren't told which invention was made by whom as to avoid favoritism, and boom! That's the new Dorm Leader.
Idia brought Ortho into the dorm and everyone just assumed that that was his challenge to the existing dorm leader LMAO
It really wasn't....but the current dorm leader was so in awe of Ortho and Idia's intelligence that he gave up his position (practically forcing it into Idia lol) for him.

Requests will be CLOSED for a week, at least
I’m getting some burnout, so I won’t be accepting any new requests. I may post some tidbits of my own stuff/doodles, or I may even write some of the already-existing requests if I get into the mood.
Please understand that I’m just a person who has work outside of this website, and that my requests were only open because I felt like getting some creative ideas to write. I am under no obligation to write what you request if it makes me uncomfortable, if I can’t think of a good idea for it, don’t have the motivation, or if I just don’t want to ^^
