One of the most interesting creatures of the Ordovician are the Eurypterids, or sea scorpions. They’re not really scorpions, but they ARE arthropods. In fact, they’re the largest arthropods. They may have even been among the first animals to spend time on land. These are crinoids! They first appear in the Ordovician period, and they survive nearly the same today with over 600 species.
