Hello everyone, these photos were taken while we were in Gaza. We were staying in Nusairat, and as shown in the video, the destruction that occurred after the Israeli raid in front of the house where we were displaced. It was a scary day for me and my little girl.

Mai is from Gaza, a strong and hardworking young woman. She was working and pursuing her master’s degree while being the sole breadwinner for her entire family.

But the war stopped everything… her job was lost, her studies were put on hold, and all sources of income disappeared.

The pressure didn’t stop there…

Her mother is in a critical health condition and urgently needs a new heart device costing $25,000. Every day without this device poses a serious threat to her life.

As for her brother, he suffered a severe injury to his hand and needed 80 stitches, amid difficult medical conditions and scarce resources.

Since February 2024, Mai has been running a campaign to help her mother and save her family, but so far she’s been struggling alone, and the support has been insufficient. Despite all this, she keeps trying, resisting, and searching for any glimmer of hope.

A tent that doesn't hold back fear

In a neglected corner of an area threatened by invasion, a small tent stretches across a dusty, uneasy land. It is inhabited by the Siraj family—a father, a mother, three children, and his extended family of 24—who have been displaced six times over the past few years. Each time, they thought it would be their last, but war kept knocking on their door again.

Their last home, which they had built with great hope from scraps of brick and wood, was targeted by the Zionists a year and a half ago in a violent raid. Since then, they have been living in this tent, which offers neither protection against the cold of winter nor the heat of summer, nor does it ward off fear. The area they now reside in is under threat of being stormed at any moment, and the father, Siraj, is unable to sleep at night, worried about his children.

"We want nothing more than to get out of here. We just want to live in safety," the mother says, cradling her little girl close to her chest. The family has tried to flee again, but transportation costs have become an insurmountable obstacle, as they don't even have enough to eat.

Today, the Seraj family appeals to compassionate hearts: Help us move to a safe place. We are not asking for a home, just a way out of danger.

Measuring transportation costs could mean the difference between life and death for a family exhausted by displacement.
