The Last Ride
Hi, hello. i have been having a bunch of random story ideas and I finally decided to put pen to paper and write this story, I also posted on my AO3 account as I am trying to brush up on my skills. I truly hope you enjoy this and I hope to get some type of feedback in case it is horrible.
The jolt woke me. Not a violent shudder, but a gentle nudge, like a child testing if youโre really asleep. My eyes fluttered open, met by an unfamiliar blur. Gradually, shapes solidified. I was sitting, upright, in a seat upholstered in a faded, almost regal, fabric. A deep burgundy, worn smooth with age.
Panic, a cold fist, squeezed my chest. Where was I?
The last thing I remembered was the sterile scent of antiseptic, the rhythmic beeping of machines, and the white, oh, the relentless white of the hospital room. My vision had been narrowing, sounds fadingโฆ and then, nothing.
Now, this.
I blinked again, trying to clear the fog in my head. The roomโฆ it wasn't really a room. More like a compartment. A long, narrow space with windows that stretched along one side, offering glimpses ofโฆ well, nothing discernible. Just a smear of muted colors, like an abstract painting perpetually out of focus. Across from me, a man sat staring out the window. His profile was etched with lines of weariness, his hair the color of tarnished silver. He wore a suit, impeccably tailored, but slightly rumpled, as if he'd been traveling for days.
"Excuse me," I managed, my voice a rusty croak. "Whereโฆ where are we?"
He didn't turn, didn't even acknowledge my presence. I tried again, louder this time. "Hello? Can you hear me?"
Finally, he shifted slightly, his gaze still fixed on the passing blur. "Patience," he murmured, his voice a low rumble. "We'll be there soon enough."
"There? Where is 'there'?" I insisted, my anxiety escalating. I reached out to touch his arm, but my hand passed right through it.
I recoiled, a gasp escaping my lips. My heart hammered against my ribs, a frantic bird trapped in a cage. This wasnโt right. None of this was right.
He finally turned to face me, his eyes โ a startling shade of blue โ filled with an unfathomable sadness. "Don't fret so, dear. You'll understand everythingโฆ eventually."
His words offered little comfort. I looked around the compartment again, taking in the details. The walls were paneled in dark wood, intricately carved with patterns I couldn't quite decipher. A single, antique lamp cast a soft, amber glow, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. There was a sense of timelessness about the place, as if it existed outside the normal flow of reality.
I noticed a small table beside my seat, and on it, a book. Its cover was blank, devoid of title or author. Hesitantly, I picked it up. The leather felt worn and supple beneath my fingertips. I opened it.
The pages were also blank.
Frustration welled up inside me. "What is this? What's happening?"
The man sighed, a sound like wind whistling through a lonely canyon. "It's different for everyone. Some remember. Someโฆ don't."
"Remember what? Remember where I am? Remember how I got here?"
He closed his eyes for a moment, as if gathering his strength. "The answersโฆ they're inside you. You just need to find them." He offered no further explanation. I sank back into my seat, feeling lost and utterly alone. The only sound was the rhythmic hum that vibrated through the floor, a constant, unwavering drone.
I tried to recall the events leading up toโฆ this. The hospital, yes. The illness. It had been swift, brutal. A relentless tide that had swept me away before I had a chance to truly fight. But beyond that, the memories were fragmented, like shards of broken glass.
I thought of my husband, David. His face, etched with worry, swam into focus. The way he held my hand, his touch gentle and reassuring, even when his own fear was palpable. The promises we had made, the life we had plannedโฆ all gone, vanished like smoke in the wind.
A tear escaped my eye, tracing a path down my cheek. Grief, sharp and agonizing, pierced through the confusion. I missed him. I missed him with every fiber of my being. As the hours drifted by, I became aware of other occupants in nearby compartments. I saw them through the gaps between the carriages, fleeting glimpses of faces etched with a mixture of emotions: confusion, fear, resignation, even peace. Some were alone, others were accompanied by companions, their interactions ranging from tense silence to quiet conversation.
I tried to speak to them, to ask them questions, but my voice seemed to fade into the background noise, unheard and unheeded. It was as if we were all trapped in our own individual bubbles, existing in the same space but unable to truly connect.
The scenery outside the windows remained stubbornly indistinct. Sometimes, I thought I saw shapes forming in the swirling colors โ towering mountains, vast oceans, sprawling cities โ but they always dissolved before I could make sense of them. It was like trying to grasp a dream, the images constantly shifting and transforming, just beyond my reach.
I returned to the blank book, hoping to find some clue, some indication of my purpose. I ran my fingers over the smooth pages, willing them to reveal their secrets. But they remained stubbornly empty.
The man across from me continued to stare out the window, his face an unreadable mask. I wondered who he was, where he was going, what he knew. He seemed to possess a calmness, an acceptance that I desperately craved.
"How long have you been here?" I asked him, breaking the silence.
He didn't turn. "Long enough," he replied, his voice still low and gravelly.
"Do you know where we're going?"
"Eventually. Youโll discover it, one way or another.โ
"And what happens when we get there?" I pressed.
He finally turned to face me, his blue eyes piercingly intense. "That, my dear, is the question, isn't it?"
His answer offered no solace. I felt a growing sense of unease, a feeling that I was on the verge of something significant, something terrifying.
I began to experiment, to test the boundaries of my reality. I tried to open the compartment door, but it was locked, sealed shut. I tried to break the window, but my hands passed right through the glass, as if it were nothing more than an illusion.
I was trapped. Utterly and completely trapped.
Days, or perhaps weeks, blurred into a continuous stream of monotony. The hum of theโฆ whatever it was we were traveling onโฆ became a constant companion, a dull ache in the background of my awareness. I slept fitfully, plagued by fragmented dreams that offered no clarity.
I spent hours staring at the blank book, willing it to reveal its secrets. I tried writing in it, using my finger to trace letters on the page, but nothing appeared. It was as if the book was waiting for something, for a key that would unlock its hidden potential.
One day, I found myself drawn to the window. The colors outside seemed to be shifting, becoming more vibrant, more defined. I could almost make out shapes, forms that hinted at a landscape of unimaginable beauty.
As I watched, a single point of light appeared in the distance, a tiny spark in the vast expanse of color. It grew larger, brighter, until it filled my vision with its radiant glow. A wave of warmth washed over me, a feeling of profound peace that I hadn't experienced sinceโฆ well, since before the illness. It was as if a heavy burden had been lifted from my shoulders, a weight that I hadn't even realized I was carrying.
The man across from me stirred. He looked at me, a faint smile playing on his lips. "It's time," he said softly.
"Time for what?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
He didn't answer. The light outside intensified, bathing the compartment in its golden radiance. I felt a pull, a gentle but irresistible force drawing me towards the window. I hesitated, fear warring with anticipation. What awaited me beyond this journey? What would I find at my final destination?
I thought of David, of the life we had shared, of the love that still burned bright within my heart. And I knew, with a certainty that transcended all doubt, that I wasn't alone. That somehow, somewhere, we would be together again.
I took a deep breath and reached out, my hand passing through the window without resistance. I stepped through the opening, into the light.
The sensation was overwhelming. It was like being embraced by a thousand suns, each one radiating warmth and love. I closed my eyes, surrendering to the feeling, letting it wash over me, cleansing me of all pain and sorrow.
When I opened my eyes again, I was standing in a garden.
It was unlike any garden I had ever seen. The flowers were impossibly vibrant, their colors shifting and changing in the light. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blossoms, and the sound of birds singing in perfect harmony.
A path, paved with smooth, white stones, wound its way through the garden, leading towards a distant horizon. And standing at the beginning of the path, waiting for me, was David.
He looked younger, more radiant than I remembered. His eyes sparkled with joy, and his smile was as warm and welcoming as the sun.
"Eleanor," he said, his voice filled with love. "You're finally here."
I ran to him, tears streaming down my face. He embraced me, holding me close, and I knew, in that moment, that I was home.
The journey was over. The destination had been reached. And I was finally, truly, at peace.
I looked back, and I could see theโฆ the thing we were riding. It was just a blur of color, fading into the distance. I didn't need to know what it was or where it came from. All that mattered was that it had brought me here, to this place, to this moment.
I took David's hand, and together, we walked down the path, towards the horizon. The future was unknown, but it was filled with hope, with love, and with the promise of eternal happiness.
As we walked, I glanced back one last time. The blur of color was gone, vanished without a trace. And in its place, I saw a single, shimmering star, twinkling in the twilight sky.
I smiled, knowing that somewhere, out there in the vast expanse of the universe, another soul was beginning its journey. And I hoped, with all my heart, that it would find its way home, just as I had.

N.B: i wrote this all in a jumbled 3rd POV/ really formally cause thatโs how my brain was operating. I might comeback later and fix it.
The first episode of Link Click: Bridon Arc opens up many intriguing possibilities for theories, especially given its focus on fate, mystery, and new characters. Here are a few theories based on the episode's events and overarching themes:
The Photo's Connection to Cheng Xiaoshiโs Parents โข The mysterious photo found in the Time Photo Studio suggests that Cheng Xiaoshiโs parents may play a crucial role in the larger story. It's possible that the photo contains evidence of their involvement in the supernatural phenomena or a link to why Cheng Xiaoshi has his unique ability. This could lead to revelations about the origins of both his and Lu Guang's powers.
Lu Guangโs Risky Time Interference
It could also mean that Lu Guang has crossed the limit by "retracing the path of destiny" to save Cheng Xiaoshi. This might make the powers go beyond the limit, creating new timelines or raising new enemies who understand the use of time manipulation. It hints at a tug-of-war between fate and free will.
3. The Fate Deadlock
The "fated deadlock" from the synopsis could be interpreted as some kind of time loop or a fixed point in time, which Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi can't change no matter what, lest some terrible consequences occur. This connects to the show's main theme of cause and effect: how one action in the past trickles down into the present and future. Here I wanna deep dive on the 3 points I made above.
Theory 1: The Photo's Connection to Cheng Xiaoshi's Parents What we know:
โข A mysterious photo linked to Cheng Xiaoshiโs parents appears in the Time Photo Studio. This could hold significant clues about his family's past and possibly their connection to time manipulation. Speculation: โข Family Connection to Time Abilities: Cheng Xiaoshiโs parents may have been researchers or individuals connected to the supernatural phenomena surrounding time and photographs. If true, this could explain how Cheng developed his ability to enter photos.
Hidden Truths About His Parents' Fate: The picture may show why his parents are not there. It could be that they have some sort of danger connected with time manipulation, which would explain their disappearance or even death. โข Trigger for Cheng's Powers: The photo may be the source or the key to unlocking memories or truths that Cheng has repressed, making it crucial to the Bridon Arc. Implications
This would deepen the emotional connection of the story with Cheng's character as he will be confronted with some painful realities about his family.
The picture can also cause new conflicts since people who knew about its importance might want to capture the attention it receives.
Theory 2: Lu Guang's Risky Time Interference What we know:
Lu Guang "retrace the path of destiny" in order to save Cheng Xiaoshi; this calculated approach he was showing means he knew the risks and yet is ready to get going for Cheng's sake. Speculation:
Time Loops and Paradoxes: Lu Guang can create some kind of loop where, through interference, he causes an event which he is trying to prevent. For example, if he tries to save Cheng, he could put them in danger.
Fate vs. Free Will: The show has continually struggled with whether things are set in their ways or if they can be changed. The interference of Lu Guang might press the limits of free will to the extent that some things are fixed, no matter what he does.
Backlash of Overuse: Pushing the limits of their abilities may result in unwanted consequences, such as harming Lu Guang's health or further destabilizing the timeline, hence bringing greater consequences to their world. Implications: โข The theory leads to a tale in which the decisions of Lu Guang are emotional and moral dilemmas; it is costly to pay for his devotion towards Cheng Xiaoshi.
It could also introduce new adversaries who see time interference as dangerous and seek to prevent him from continuing.
Theory 3: The Fate Deadlock What we know:
The "fated deadlock" is a certain point in time or situation that keeps occurring no matter how many interventions are made. Speculation: โข Fixed Points in Time: There may be specific events or outcomes tied to Cheng Xiaoshiโs life that cannot be avoided. For instance, his death (or the situation leading to it) could be a fixed event that repeats despite Lu Guangโs efforts.
Conflict with Other Time Manipulators: The standoff could involve another faction or individual that actually works to make sure these events do occur as they were "supposed to." This would create an adversary that is the polar opposite of Lu Guang's changes. โข Emotional Themes of Acceptance: In the case of an impossible deadlock, the arc could well become about themes of loss and acceptance, where the characters must learn to accept their limitations. Implications:
This might result in a dramatic plot twist: Lu Guang realizes that he cannot alter Cheng Xiaoshi's fate and is forced to learn to live with the loss or find other ways to resolve the situation. โข The impasse could be a metaphor for the fact that the show explores human emotions, where some things in life are inevitable, but it's about how we face them.
Conclusion: These theories make Link Click: Bridon Arc a deeply emotional and philosophical sequel to the series. The photo, the choices of Lu Guang, and the concept of a "fate deadlock" all intermingle with the show's exploration of destiny, consequences, and the limits of human agency. Each layer builds suspense while promising emotional and moral depth.

Personality and Traits โ A Charismatic Rebel
Wei Wuxian is untrammeled by conventions of the society or sect traditions and indeed by rigid morality, playful, humorous, or mischievous, one who often uses humor to dissolve or provoke any kind of reaction whatsoever. Despite all that is light-hearted, he happens to be sharp-witted and deep emotionally.
Smooth-tongued and affable, he easily wins people over with his charisma and likability, though his defiance of authority often puts him at odds with traditionalists. Resourceful and imaginative, as a cultivator, he is incredibly intelligent and inventive, creating new techniques such as demonic cultivation in order to challenge convention. Bravery and Self-Sacrifice
Wei Wuxian has lots of principle, sometimes self-destructive. He stands against the cultivation world or against his own sect for the protection of the oppressed.
Protector of the Weak: Wei Wuxian is strongly just, and he constantly puts protection on the front burner, as was taking care of Wen remnants despite their outcast status.
Martyr Complex: Wei Wuxian often takes on blame to save others, which contributes to his tragic downfall.
Background and Motivations
The upbringing of Wei Wuxian plays an important role in the development of his character:
โ Orphaned Childhood
Orphaned when young, he was then adopted by the Yunmeng Jiang Sect. With such a tragic life, Wei Wuxian grew up optimistic and carefree, and soon became very attached to Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli. These early experiences of loss make him extremely empathetic toward other sufferers, such as the Wen remnants.
โ Philosophical Beliefs
Wei Wuxian believes that morality is determined by intent and not by tradition or superficial rules. It is for this reason that he invented and practiced demonic cultivation even when he knew it would make him an outcast.
Strengths and Abilities
Wei Wuxian is a genius in cultivation. He had mastered traditional techniques and later pioneered demonic cultivation. Natural Talent: He has expertise in swordplay and is very knowledgeable in talismans and spiritual arts.
His adaptability and innovativeness are unmatched; he even invented the Stygian Tiger Seal.
Demonic Cultivation: After the loss of his golden core, Wei Wuxian developed Demonic Cultivation with the help of resentful energy. Although very controversial, this very ability underlines his genius to be able to go where no one else ever had. He controls the fierce corpses and controls resentful spirits with Chenqing, his flute.
Relationships
Wei Wuxian's relationships highlight his loyalty, empathy, and emotional complexity. โ Lan Wangji (Soulmate):
Lan Wangji serves as Wei Wuxian's anchor, offering unconditional love and acceptance. Their relationship evolves from rivalry to profound partnership, with Lan Wangji becoming Wei Wuxian's moral and emotional support. Wei Wuxian deeply admires Lan Wangjiโs integrity and steadfastness, even if he often teases him.
โ Jiang Cheng (Brotherly Bond):
The relationship between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng is quite complicated; their brotherly love is founded on misunderstandings and differing values. Even though they had a falling out, the sacrifice that Wei Wuxian did for the Jiang family proves that his loyalty still stays. ย โ Jiang Yanli (Sisterly Love):
Jiang Yanli is Wei Wuxian's surrogate sister and one of his biggest emotional anchors; her death was a blow from which he will never recover and has contributed much to his eventual emotional collapse.
โ Wen Remnants:
In Wei Wuxian's unstoppable protection of the Wen remnants, especially Wen Ning and Wen Qing, lies great justice and compassion.
Weaknesses and Vulnerabilities
Despite his strengths, Wei Wuxian is nowhere near invincible, and his weaknesses make him all the more human:ย โ Self-Sacrificial Tendencies:
Wei Wuxian often puts others before himself, which leads to his demise. His decision to protect the Wen clan leads to his betrayal and abandonment.
โ Reckless Idealism:
While his ideals are noble, the fact that he went against the conventions of society and authority makes him an easy target for criticism and persecution.
โ Guilt and Trauma:
Wei Wuxian carries a lot of guilt for all the deaths and suffering brought about by his actions, especially during the Sunshot Campaign and the fall of the Wen clan.
Symbolism and Themes
Wei Wuxian embodies the spirit of breaking with tradition in order to seek justice and compassion. His character is closely related to the following themes:
Freedom: His whole life is a quest to be free, both in the choices he makes and in the philosophy he holds.
Redemption: His resurrection enables him to confront his past and find peace.
Love and Acceptance: His relationship with Lan Wangji shows the power of unconditional love to change a person.
Character Arc
The story of Wei Wuxian is that of tragedy, resilience, and redemption:
Tragedy: His fall from grace after being labeled the Yiling Patriarch marks his lowest point.
Resilience: Despite losing everything, he remains true to his principles.
His resurrection gives him a second chance in life, to make up misunderstandings with loved ones, and to be with his happiness-Lan Wangji.
To be honest, I have a lot more to write on him, I will continue on another post with the personality and traits as well as some more universal themes such justice, love and self acceptance. Like honestly Wei Wuxian is the reason I'm so obsessed with complex characters and will always defend them. This man is precious and is everything.

with that logic then Emmy is a bad friend. Damon asked her to look out for Banks and she didnโt. You forgot that while they were all in jail Michael was the one visiting and looking out for them? He threw himself into basketball, hardly going back home cause he wanted to earn his own money and build his own wealth so when his friends got out he had something to share with them. Which btw he did. When he loves Rika you all call him an idiot cause โshe send his friends to jailโ
But when he hates on Rika cause he thought she send his friends to jail, he is evil and trash cause โhow can he treat the person he loves like that rightโ.
The truth is no matter what he do you will all find a reason to hate him. Cause all you are saying can also be flip on the rest of the guys and paint them as horrible friends.
Mind you Michael was the guys only safety net. The morning everything blow up he called Damon to hide so he can help him leave town, he paid to make sure they were protected in jail. Mind you he was still very much a teenager. He set and build plans to help them reintegrated into society once they got released. Risked his life to save a drowning Will, who was left to drown by Damon (but yโall ainโt calling Damon a bad friend). Was ready to throw himself infront of Emmy and Martin and so much more.
Plus to say he never wanted Banks and Kai together and never say the vision of them is just false asf. Michael was the one who took Banks from Gabriel house and brought her to Kai, he was the first to notice them having something, and told her โYou are better off & safer with him than in Gabrielโs house.โ
The truth is you just wanna hate him and find bs reasons to.
devils night: unpopular opinion: michael crist edition.
michael was actually such a bad friend if you really think about it. this is so ironic because his character is built off the fact that he's diehard for his friends to the point of having insane loyalty to them. he's supposed to be loyal to the point where he chooses to torment rika for that friendship's sake, to the level where he struggles with choosing love/rika over the guys in corrupt.
but like,, he was also so rubbish as a friend and person. it may have been due to oversight and PD not thinking about the overarching relationships that clearly, but c'mon, michael escaped prison while his friends were sent in and has huge guilt over this...
yet, he never once thinks to help damon's sister, who he KNOWS exists and who he knows would be SUFFERING in a house run by big, bad gabriel torrance. he knows his best friend is in jail, that she was the only family damon cared about to the point of keeping her under wraps and hidden away from everyone, and yet, michael never reaches out or tries to help banks??
and michael also knows kai is agonising over her in hideaway, they're actively against damon at this time and he has this top secret info to his name, yet he never thinks to tell kai who banks really is. everyone (including PD) uses the argument michael minds his own business, but no he fucking doesn't, if he did then he never would've messed with nik back during devils night or threatened her at the hotel.
the fact is that we should've either gotten a humanising moment/mention of michael actually being sweet for once in his life, and see him at least keeping an eye on banks if not reaching out while damon was in prison (although, i think it would've been a great platonic bonding scene if he had sought her out before the events of hideaway even if it's just to offer her an out that she may not take, or to simply ask how she is). OR, michael perving on banks that one night, him discovering she's damon's sisterโ that whole thread should've been omitted because it honestly made no sense to me and just made me dislike michael even more.

Okay so this is a post that I have been planning for a while now to be honest. Devil's Night Series as been a series that honest got me hooked on reading again and all the characters hold a special place in my heart especially Michael and Rika. I have bared witness to all the hate that Michael gets and as a person who like and can relate to him on some level it actually rub med wrong. I also find it crazy how Michael and Emory are literally the same character in different font but Michael gets a lot more hate.
But this is a Michael post so I will be sticking to just my analysis of him and maybe this can shed some light on his actions and have a discussion. Keep in mind this isn't me trying to justify the shit he does but instead explain his actions.
โฆ So first I wanna touch on who Michael is as a person. We have seen throughout the series and especially in Corrupt that he is a for the most part a loyal person especially when it comes to his chosen family which at the start of the series was solely the other 3 horsemen. But let's go see where this stems from. Michael is considered to be the black sheep of his family despite being the eldest son. We have seen in flashbacks that his father has an unwavering hatred towards him ever since he was younger (a literal toddler), even though we never found out the reason why. I have a theory however, that Evan's hatred stem from the fact that Michael is similar to him when it comes to their stubborn mindset making him harder to manipulate and control compared to Trevor who is literally his father's dog. Now back to regular program... this dysfunctional dynamic in his family is what lead him to find companionship, brotherhood and trust in Kai, Will and Damon. They became his real family. He has proven time and time again that he would and will do anything to protect or even avenge them. He was always giving them advice and even cleaning up after them whenever they fuck up, which we know is a lot.๐คฃ๐คฃ But nonetheless because of his pact and loyalty he will do all this even at a risk of hurting himself both physically and emotionally.
โฆ During the events of Corrupt it is noted on several occasion that he is also extremely self destructive. This can be explained as a direct result of his upbringing. One of the things that I realize that alot of readers and fan of the series like to skip over is the extreme abuse that Michael suffered at the hands of his father. I get that as opposed to Damon and Emmy, it wasn't a main highlight in his novel so people tend to downplay it or outright ignores it. Michael was physically & mentally abused by his father simultaneously for years, from his childhood to when he was mid to late teen (he was 16 if i recall correctly). It was at this time that he finally fought back against Evan, with Rika being an unknowing witness to the event that lead to the stop of the physical abusing but the increased in the verbal and mental abuse. And where was his mom during all of this? Acting and being oblivious ofc. But we can see that he still; in present day Corrupt; is affected by his fathers words which reflects in his self loathing and believing he doesn't deserve to be happy or the love of anyone, especially not Rika. The Rika he loved and his world revolved around since he was 3. The same Rika that his dad as been grooming and basically training to be the perfect match/wife for Trevor. And he would rather continuing to live in emotional pain than accepting that someone can love him, that's why he was so hellbent on avenging his friends at the risk of burning the bridge with Rika in the process.
โฆ I will be the first to admit that he is blunt, brutal and overall mean in his speech especially at times when he speak to Rika. Michael is not one to cut words and will things in the most brutal of ways especially when he is angry or hurting as I genuinely believe he is one of those ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ณ๐ต ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ฆ, ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ณ๐ต ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ฆ type person who believe that if they are hurting others should too. Though for some reason this doesn't extend to when it comes romantic feelings. Wit that let's focus on his interactions with Rika. Even from the first encounter we saw of the two of them we knew that they had history between them and that their relationship runs deep, this is something that is immediately confirmed. I think one of the biggest issues that the fandom have against Michael is that he is hard on Rika, which is true, but the thing is I think readers are so used to the MMC babying the FMC that the concept of hard love is so alien to them. I will say though some of the things he did say to her are beyond harsh and outright so fucking cruel, like calling her just a pussy or even this:
This was just uncall for, but it goes back to what I mentioned before of him believing that if he is hurt, everyone should also hurt, not an excuse but merely an explanation. And as harsh as he is some of his actions are from his perspective a way of teaching her to be stronger and fight her own battles and not wait on others to come to her rescue. He was the first to recognize her fire help her make it shine brighter:
Another instance that I see people always judging him about is the events of Conclave which I find fucking ridiculous cause he literally reacted how any normal person would. For month Rika as been distant from him, all methods and efforts to try and get through to her as been futile, fast forward to that night on the ship, he walked in on his fiancรฉ in the arms of his best friend finding comfort, when she has been brushing him off for months. Rightfully so both him and Banks were upset but everyone tend to only judge him. Come to find out that the woman he loves thinks so low of him, that he would leave her because of fertility issues and even confided in someone else. So yea him walking away from the situation was honestly a normal and natural reaction. Like he is allowed to feel and react like anyone in his shoes would. and I find it crazy how people love saying he doesn't care for, love or respect Rika when there is evidence proving otherwise.

โฆ Like you can bring up that he didn't apologize to her and it is clear that this is one of people's biggest freeze moment but let's not forget that people have different ways for expressing themselves and in MichaelRika case, they have proven over and over again on multiple occasions that they prefer and believe in actions over words. Rika wanted Michael to show her that he is sorry to basically dedicate his life to her and guess what? He did just that.
โฆ I could go on more but as this post turn out longer than I anticipated I will end it her on this note. Michael to me is the perfect representation of a complex character, he is a product of cause and effect and it shines through alot through the series. I wanna finish by saying that I am in no way shape or form defending his actions but simply highlighting and explaining them.

I figured since I have no idea what to post why not make the first one be about my fav character of all time.
When I speak of characters that I can never hate he will always be first on the list. WWX was the character that changed the way I a view things and just think in general. He was and is a perfect example of a flawed character and that's the thing I love sm about MXTX she never shy away from showing us that not everyone is perfect and you can see that across all her works. As basically an orphan he was taken in by the Jiang Clan and even with the way that Madam Yu treated him he was always ready to sacrifice himself for the clan because in his eyes 'that's the least he can do for the people who took him in'.
He also perfectly depict (imo) what a person discovering their sexuality is like. we can tell that he has always been open minded; shown when him and LWJ was punished and he showed LWJ the magazine of 2 men having sex, so it's not like he ever condemned his feelings towards LWJ it's just that it's a serious case of bi-panic ad a man confused in bi and didn't know. I was clear as day that he had feelings for LWJ cause even when he teases LWJ about the other girls you can see him feeling sad thinking LWJ does have feelings for them and not realize that LWJ basically married him in the cave at Cloud Recess. ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Wei WuXian has experience so much trauma in life and what makes MDZS/MXTX so great is that the trauma was never a result of the character's sexuality has we have seen in a lot of media. Yes, he experienced things, but that is a result of their society, from the wars to the raids to the massacre, all of these are things that shaped him as a character and not to say he always makes the right choice cause truth be told he doesn't, that's what made him such a well written and relatable character.
I know that this is all over but this is just how my thoughts were coming out and I wanna share. I will one day do a better character analysis on him but for now, that's all.
