The Grinch : a Bucky Barnes imagine

Summary: She hates Christmas. Like, hates it. Can Bucky change her mind?

Warnings: Just fluffy Bucky, is that a warning?

“I don’t wanna,” she groaned, burying her face into the pillow. It was way too early. She couldn’t even see the time, but she knew it was way too early.

“Come on, sugar!,” Bucky chuckled. He’d been bouncing all over the Tower for a week. Bucky has always loved Christmas. And now that he was, well, well, he loved it even more.

“Leave me alone,” she grumbled into the pillow and Bucky huffed, seemingly giving up and leaving the bed. She smiled triumphantly to herself and went back to sleep.

Little did she know, Bucky had other plans.

He’d gone downstairs and fixed all of her favorites for breakfast. Laid it all out on a tray and had Thor bring it up to her, clad in a Santa hat.

“Happy Christmas morning!,” Thor beamed, practically bursting through the bedroom door. “What the hell!,” she cried out, wrapping the sheets around her and practically coming off the bed.

“Sargent Barnes has requested I bring you breakfast to start your Christmas morning,” Thor said, sitting it down. She groaned again and rolled her eyes. She wanted to fight it, but the food smelled too good.

Thor bid her a good morning and left, but she had a feeling it wasn’t over.

Next was Clint, in a Santa hat, looking like this was the worst moment of his entire life. He brought a huge stocking filled to the top with all of her favorites. Chocolates. Bath bombs. She felt a small smile creep across her face.

“Thanks Barton,” she said, still sorting through the stocking. He grumbled a response and left.

Next was Steve, arm full of beautifully wrapped gifts. She smiled, sitting up more. “Merry Christmas,” he smiled, sitting them at her feet. He kissed her cheek and left.

She began to open the boxes, filled again with things she loved. Practical gifts. Sentimental gifts. She couldn’t stop smiling.

The door opened slightly and she looked up, Bucky standing there watching her. “Merry Christmas, sugar,” he said quietly before making his way over.

He sat next to her and pulled a sprig of mistletoe from his pocket, holding it over her head and kissing her passionately before pulling away.

“One more,” he said, holding out a small box wrapped in red and silver. She took it, unwrapping it slowly before opening the box to see the diamond ring.

She beamed up at him and he did the same before kissing her again. “Merry Christmas, sugar.”

“Merry Christmas, Buck.”

Movie night in the Avengers tower was always a blast. After Tony had the theater installed it was decided that every week, one teammate would get to choose what movie everyone would watch while the rest of the team pot lucked the snacks and drinks. They spent so much time fighting bad guys and carrying the many responsibilities of earth, it was often easy for them to forget that there was more to their lives than death and endless work. By taking time every week to sit and just enjoy each others company, it gave them a way to regain the calm aspect of their lives, give them a sense of peace and family, even if it was temporary.

This week, was Sam’s pick. The moment you found out it was his turn you could not help but give out an annoyed groan, because you knew exactly what he was going to choose. A couple days prior, as if by sheer coincidence you both were having a conversation about the many movies you had and had not seen over the years. You admitted that you had never been huge on cinematic features, you were a reader so the Hollywood movie business had pretty much evaded your attention. It wasn’t until you answered ‘nope, haven’t seen it’ to the terminator series did you become convinced that your friendship was failing.

It was not just you he was mad at, your person Bucky had not seen the movies either, putting you both in hot water with the flying bird. You ended up making a promise for you both ( despite Bucky’s steady protests ) that you would watch the movies when you could, and share your honest thoughts.

A/N: So this is just a random one for everyone whilst I’m on my break until the 17th of December. It’s christmas and smut all in one go. enjoy.

The sight of a warm fireplace was something that comforted you deeply. The crackle accompanied by the soft light and warmth, it all just made you feel safe.

A blanket wrapped around your shoulders, you sat in front of the fireplace, sipping at a cup of coffee as the pale shine from the moon outside cast a shadow on the wall of the living room.

It was a calm night, the type that made you sleepy at 8 pm as you sipped at a piping cup of tea, the liquid warming you from the inside out. A muffled yawn passed your lips as you stared into fire that cascaded upon the wood in front of you.

It had been Steve’s idea. A romantic getaway around Christmastime to ‘escape’ as he’d put it. You didn’t need to escape, Bucky was enough of a safe haven as you needed, but you weren’t going to refuse an all expenses paid weekend to a cute little log cabin in the middle of the best season of the year.

“I hope you’re not passing out on me.”

You smiled at the sound of the voice coming from behind you, and without turning around you replied, “I’m bored to sleep without you here.”

You listened as the sound of heavy, sock covered footsteps echoed in your ears, approaching you from the side. A kiss was pressed to the top of your head as Bucky sat next to you, rubbing your covered shoulder gently to help heat you up even more with the friction he provided.
