The writer behind the first Doctor Fate ongoing will insist he did not write pedophilia but for real, in ISSUE #1, he writes 10 year old Eric aged in a adult body finding himself uncomfortable with Linda’s changed demeanor towards him and there’s no other way to interpret this than her approaching him more than it being romantic. Linda is also written to be acutely aware what she’s doing is downright inappropriate yet she continues the behavior.

That’s why you won’t find this blog supporting that version of Doctor Fate nor pretend we can skirt around that detail or because you can’t. It’s surprising Jared Stevens is considered the blacklisted Fate when this exists. This should of stayed to minimal to no acknowledgement in current continuity.

They honestly do honestly. I find that DC, when they do certain characters, tend to recycle stories. Despite Khalid being 10 years old, writers keep emphasizing his youth and inexperience ad-naseum. We had this in his solo, in the previous justice society book, and now another JSA book.

It’s crazy how Justice League Dark, despite clearly pushing him to the side in favor of Diana, Zatanna, Constantine, and Kent to a point, managed to make him knowledgeable (more than Bobo, Kirk, Diana, etc.) and mature. Even fucking Bendis, despite doing the inexperience and confidence pigeon hole, let him still know his things & be a therapist.

Still have a problem with this cowardly characterization of the only PoC Doctor Fate. And how many times is he gonna create a fucking big shield?! I knew some shit like that was gonna happen so Doctor Fate can’t fix the plot.

I always imagine that the Wizard himself, unlike good and loveable Billy who is more righteous and virtuous, has that thing in common with Alfred where they don’t give a damn if he is catching bodies for the bad guys. Bro charred some monster monkeys in front of children & didn’t blink. Black Adam was his champion also and he didn’t play.

Basically, the Wizard is this:

One of the sub-plot lines that was rushed in Geoff John’s Justice Society of America was the 31st Century plot line involving Khalid and the Substitute Legion investigating a time displace Mordru and the Legion’s belief he will lead to destruction, plotted out by Eclipso.

Honestly, I thought this was a interesting plot line and it sadly got glossed over for Helena Wayne’s plot line for te rioting villains & second chances. Khalid accompanied them to Sorcerer’s World and then got to meet the future JSA. It left some questions like why did the Substitute Legion get involved? Why did they reach out to KHALID instead of their Doctor Fate? Why was this so risky to them too?

And then it gets wrapped up in a dumb way; Khalid just about reveals Eclipsó but Helena’s narration HAD to note he was scared (he’s already fought that bitch twice in JLD & Flash. Wtf would he be scared of?!) and it was Helena & 16 year old Mordru saving the day.

Just one of those thing we’ll be left to wondering for all time.

A while back, Bendis’s magic OC Xanadoth once accused Black Adam of being a disciple of a Lord of Chaos. I remember reading thinking Bendis just having no clue what he’s doing (he still didn’t) but they showed a character in the same storyline in a flashback with the Champion lightning emblem.

The thing is: Mamaragan is the only character who bears that emblem consistently & his younger appearances gives him a built frame & straight hair at times. Xanadoth also claims Black Adam is also a DISCIPLE, which he’s only been for Mamaragan

If this is true, Mamaragan was apparently a Lord of Chaos LONG ago. The flashback that says this happened during the time of Mesopotamia, which is long before Egypt and thus long before Black Adam and prolly when he was not even on the Council.

This is certainly a deviation where he was a Lord of Order before if even true.
