THE FIRST TIME SIRIUS SEES REMUS IN MY BAND AU "WHATS IT GONNA TAKE?"

Guitar chords hit Sirius' ear drums, and he stopped in his tracks, causing a girl behind him to walk directly in to his back. "Sorry-" he muttered without looking at her, as he spun around in an attempt to locate the notes that were so familiar to him.

In his drunken state, Sirius could hardly remember what the song was called, never mind the lyrics. They sat on the tip of his tongue though, as if teasing him with something he just couldn't taste. 

One step after the other, Sirius followed the noise. He felt like a hound dog, following the scent of some poor animal. The thought almost made him laugh out loud, imagining himself as a dog as he stumbled against the crowd. It was a fitting idea, considering how often he pissed outside. 

Sirius had almost forgotten about the music he was hunting down- (maybe he wouldn't make a good dog?)- until he stumbled across the man pulling the chords. He was a Bob Dylan type- tall and lanky, a mess of brown hair on his head. But Sirius's mind wasn't on the boys looks- rather the way his fingers plucked strings like that's what they were made for, his guitar case open in front of him in hopes the drunkards would spare him change. Sirius finally recognized the song, too, even though the Bob Dylan man couldn't sing for shit. Standing drunk in the street, Sirius closed his eyes as David Bowies "Big Brother" filled the air around him.

a piece of the second chapter of my band au, Whats It Gonna Take? (since I'm going to update very soon)

Stumbling over half-burnt logs and empty bottles, Remus managed to make his way to the truck his father had gifted him. It was a piece of shit, nothing but an old farm truck, but it was his baby. He pulled open the door on the passenger side, and pulled out his acoustic guitar. It was scratched and dented, he had part of the fret board duct taped together, but it worked. He held the instrument high over his head with a wobbly arm as he climbed in to the bed of his truck, sitting cross legged once he found his bearings.

The chords he plucked weren't loud enough for the rest of the party to hear, not over the crackling of the fire and everybody cheering for Brian, who had begun tossing the burning stick in the air and catching it- but it was loud enough for him, and loud enough for Norman, who had come and sat next to Remus in the truck bed. Remus's eyes were focused on the strings, his shaky hands plucking as he tried to remember the right chords despite the world spinning around him.

Norman lit a cigarette, and shook his hair out of his face. "You are truly blessed. You know that, Lupin?"

"You know I don't believe in that shit," Remus slurred, with a hint of a smile on his lips as he plucked the wrong chord.

"I'm serious, man." His friend pressed. "This, right here, is the only proof I need that God is real."

Taking his hand off the strings and picking up his bottle, Remus shook his head and raised his eyes to meet the other boys. "My shit playing?" He teased, taking a sip from his bottle despite the twisting in his stomach.

"Nah," Norman spoke quietly, as if lost in every word. He averted his gaze, focusing on the fire in front of them instead. "Just- you, Lupin."

My Xenophilius Thoughts

(as somebody who grew up in a small town and understands the pack mentality + is a supporter of the "it's the seventies, they will do drugs" mentality)

HE IS A FUCKING MALFOY!! HES A MALFOY!!!

A ravenclaw through and through

he is four years younger than lucius malfoy (so the same age as the marauders)

he began growing his hair out in first year to match his older brother

was always the black sheep in his family

such a weirdo, just a little freakazoid

collected rocks as a child, leading to his interest in semi precious stones and minerals as a teenager

began smoking weed in fourth year as a silent rebellion

got really in to it

by seventh year his hair is down to his middle back

by sixth/seventh year he's really in to hallucinogenics (mushroom, specifically. he grows them himself)

this sprouts his love for plants and gardening

was part of the first wave of metalheads, another (less silent) rebellion

Pandora fell first (second year) but kept it hidden, he fell harder (fifth year) and could NOT keep it hidden

he raised a Venus fly trap for her ("it's not even magical, muggles keep them too!")

almost mute through sixth year, due to his hallucinogenic usage

hes one of those "if it comes from the earth, it's safe for me" people

friends with barty, Evan, pandora, and dorcas throughout fourth to sixth year

somehow never needs a trip sitter

his first and only bad trip was when he and barty were driving around after sneaking out of hogsmeade

and barty, trying to do a line off the dashboard, hit the wheel with his knee and they hit the ditch

he introduced Pandora to nargles, wrackspurts etc.

too skinny (a product of his usage)

too spacey (once again, a product of his usage)

managed to befriend a unicorn foal in the forbidden forest at age 12
