Headcanon: Diluc is in a queer platonic relationship with Zhongli Queer-platonic definition: committed intimate relationships between significant others whose relationship is not romantic in nature I also hc Diluc as aroace and idk what Zhongli is, but no label just feels right

Kaeya attends some fancy event in Liyue for an undisclosed reason, and spots Zhongli. They moment they see each other they kinda just know (Archon + Khaenri'ahn). Kaeya strikes up a conversation and Zhongli is genuinely curious and talks to him

I love the hc that Zhongli feels responsible/guilty about Khaenri'ah and takes on a protective role for Kaeya, so insert that here

As Kaeya talks to him, he realizes that the man is old and boring, just like a certain someone he knows. So he convinces Zhongli to go back to Mondstat with him and he ofc does

Kaeya does some arranging with Charles and secret and next thing you know, he and Zhongli are stepping foot into Angels Share. Diluc is immediately pissed that some random dude is bothering his brother, and Venti is confused as to why the other archon is there

They don't have much time to figure it out tho bc Kaeya immediately orders some food + drinks from Charles (he and Diluc are working that day), says something flirty and mysterious about Zhongli to piss his brother off, and whisks the man upstairs

Diluc, obviously, gets super protective and brings their order upstairs, trying to remain professional but still pissed and Zhongli ofc has no idea whats going on

Upstairs, is a candlelit setting with roses and stuff (not even Diluc or Zhongli knew about this) and Kaeya sits them down. As they're talking, Diluc soon comes upstairs and places the meals and drinks in front them, barely able to conceal his anger

Diluc, about to pop a blood vessel: I'm not sure I've had the pleasure of meeting you before, my name is Diluc Ragnvindr, owner of this establishment and the finest wine of Mondstat, you are?

Zhongli: A pleasure to meet you, I am Zhongli, consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor

Diluc, gritting his teeth: I see... and may I ask how you met Mr. Alberich?

Zhongli: My apologies for my bluntness, but is it typical in Mondstat for the waiter to ask so many prying questions?

Kaeya, smugly smiling: Ah, this appears to be a misstep on my part. Allow me to properly introduce you two, Diluc, this is my newest friend, who you needn't be concerned about. Zhongli, this is Diluc, my big brother. He tends to worry too much about the men I choose to be around

Zhongli: Oh my apologies, I can fully understand being a worried sibling, I have a few of my own to worry about. I can assure you I mean no harm to your brother

Diluc, still pissed but a little less: Hmph

Kaeya ends up tricking Diluc into sitting down with Zhongli, saying he'd be right back or smt, and the two enjoy the evening together

Kaeya goes back downstairs to catch Venti up on the details and the two start pushing Diluc and Zhongli closer and closer together. Eventually, though neither catches feelings, they do appreciate each others company a ton and decide be smt more without dating

Definition: Dumbass

So I haven't really had time to write these past couple of weeks, but here's my beginning draft for this prompt I made (and y'all really liked! Thanks for 100 notes <3) (prompt under the cut) I'll do my best to keep working on it, but I mostly want to focus my attentions on 'Under the Reborn Star'. I did, however, come up with a title for it. I think it's fitting because all three of them (Kaeya, Albedo, Diluc) are really really dumb

“Chief Alchemist Albedo, fancy seeing you here”

“...this is my office”

Albedo sat at his desk, a pair of reading glasses on his face and a wave-tooth headband pushing back his hair. It was later in the evening, around 8:45, and most of the knights had already gone home for the day.

“Yes but it’s so late,” Kaeya made his way over the shorter man, standing directly in front of his desk and forcing Albedo to look directly up at him, “I must say, you look adorable like this”

“Working?”

“Relaxed” Kaeya smirked, one hand going on his hip as he continued, “What do you say we head out of here and relax some more?”

Albedo sighed, going back to the paperwork he was previously working on with a glare, “I’m working, have a nice night and get home safe”

“Oh how cold, and I thought I was the cryo user,” Kaeya sat on the desk, back facing the alchemist with his legs crossed. He laid one hand behind him on the desk as he turned and leaned over Albedo, “Are you certain you wouldn’t want to be around little ol’ me for just a couple hours longer?”

Albedo gripped his pen tighter, pausing in what he was doing before continuing to write, though his actions far more strained, “Captain Kaeya, I can assure you that I have no intentions of leaving this desk to rendezvous with you. Please, leave my office.”

Kaeya pouted, shifting slightly away from the shorter man though staying put, “How can we call each other friends if we never see each other outside of work?”

“I typically describe us as coworkers”

Kaeya blinked back his shock and mild hurt at Albedo’s statement. Pulling his hand away from Albedo entirely, he slowly stood up, turning once more to face him, “Well I suppose that had slipped my vocabulary”

“I’m sure it did” A sharp pang stabbed Kaeya in the heart, his heartbeat quickening as he quickly looked over Albedo’s face. The younger man did not react at all, still fully immersed in his paperwork and clearly annoyed.

Kaeya huffed, an attempt to regain some of his dignity, and made his way towards the door, “Well then, my apologies for bothering you on such a busy night. I suppose we will see each other tomorrow”

Albedo did not respond.

As soon as Kaeya closed the door behind him, Albedo had his head buried in his hands. With a groan, he gripped his hair and stared up at the ceiling. His heart was beating rapidly and it had taken everything within himself to not to turn red the moment he saw Kaeya. Albedo hated how he got whenever the other man was around, he never quite knew how to act and always ended up saying something the out of place in an attempt to balance out the panic in his mind.

He couldn’t keep doing this, I typically describe us as coworkers. It was true, his face always flushed even considering him and Kaeya and as friends, though he could not understand why. Perhaps he was cursed? Forced to ruin his relationship with the cavalry captain in an attempt to harm the Knights of Favonius’ reputation? That could be it, he could not understand why else he would get sick whenever he was around the other or speak in such a rude way to the man.

Albedo looked back down to the paperwork on his desk. It wasn’t anything essential to the knights, he always finishes his work far in advance. No, he was trying to figure out what illness he had exactly. It could be a curse, but he wasn’t sure why out of everyone in the knights he would be the one chosen to be cursed, or why it would be working in such a slow and ineffective manner. As far as he was aware, no one else had been suffering from these symptoms which would only make the curse that more ineffective.

It could be an illness, though he didn’t exactly know of any with a side effect of rudeness, perhaps his experimentations had introduced him to a type of virus. That was far more likely, he was patient zero and needed to work hard to create a cure. It didn’t seem to be contagious, so he should be good to go at his own pace. Regardless though, he did not want to experience these symptoms any longer.

I haven't been active all week bc I've been stressing over classes

I studied my ass off for my first exam and still failed (I was able to retake, but still). I did the same for the second, but I was still scared that I would stress the hell out again and It's seriously been taking a toll on me

Well I just got my test back today...

I PASSED

I got higher than the best case scenario I planned for! I'm so excited to get back to studying again. That was actually killing me and I'm so happy that it went well :)

Albedo pulling Kaeya out of convenience

I love the idea of this so much

It relies on the idea that Albedo is sort of robotic, like he only does things that are logical and beneficial, and one of those things is pursuing Kaeya.

Different people take on a partner for different reasons, permanent companionship, to have children, if they come from a similar background/culture, financial, etc.

As far as Albedo is aware, this would benefit him and out of everyone, there is one person who makes the most sense to pursue: Kaeya

He doesn't need to worry about birthing children, after all he is a homunculus so that is not something that needs to be considered. They have a similar enough background, relatively similar finances, plus the Ragnvinder's wealth (bc Diluc would help is brother out if he needed it). Having someone you can rely closely to is also important in their field of work.

So of course, Albedo pursues him. He often goes to the library to read about normal human behavior, which is why he decided to pursue this in the first place. That's also where he gets all of his "how to get a partner ideas" from

So he asks Kaeya out at some random moment (tavern in front of Diluc or in the middle of the KoF would be lovely) and in the most neutral, monotone way like it's some business transaction.

Kaeya obviously says yes lol. So they date and Albedo is throwing around cheesy a*s lines, overly romantic gestures, and suggesting next steps like it's nothing. Kaeya's a mess the entire time bc he never knows how to react to anything and eventually Albedo starts developing actual feelings that he doesn't know what to do with either

Kaeya tries too hard with getting Albedo to like him, overly flirting, touching, seeking him out, obsessing over him and trying to always be around him

Albedo tries hard to distance himself from Kaeya bc he doesn't know what the hell this feeling inside of him is but he's pretty sure literal butterflies have found their way into his stomach to torture him and somehow Kaeya's the one who did it to him

Diluc is pissed bc he thinks that Albedo is leading his brother on, and who does he think he is? So like the good big brother he is he goes to give Albedo the shovel talk and Albedo is all like "what's a crush" and Diluc realizes that he isn't a jerk, just dumb

Kaeya ends up giving up bc he's like, Albedo clearly doesn't like me, I don't wanna harass this dude plus I look desperate.

Diluc helps Albedo start reciprocating Kaeya's feelings, then they realize that he gave up so now they need a new plan. Except Diluc doesn't talk to his brother so he tries to hangout with him to get to know him better and Kaeya's all suspicious

Kaeya thinks that Albedo and Diluc have joined forces bc they both hate him and now feels super shitty and sad about it. Every time the two try to interact with him he thinks it's a plan to humiliate or hurt him and gets super depressed

Albedo and Diluc don't understand what they're doing wrong and amp it up 10× (now also trying to get Diluc and Kae to fix their relationship) and they just make everything worse

Klee is basically the go to vent person in all of this (not venting all their feelings ofc, but Klee is super helpful regardless) and through the power of Klee everything ends up perfect in the end

Diluc and Kaeya are brothers again, Kaeya and Albedo are dating, and Diluc and Albedo each earned a new friend
