That’s kinda the best part to me though. The Joker isn’t funny. He’s a bad clown. He is a madman with a delusion of humor.

He’s the boy at the back of the class that thinks dark humor is just saying the most offensive thing he can. He’s the coworker who will make everyone else uncomfortable and then ask why no one has a sense of humor. We all know him, in some diluted form or another, and we all know he’s not funny.

I think it’s incredible how the Gotham universe shows us a concentrated version of what we all know, showing us extreme caricatures of ourselves that we can see our virtues and flaws reflected in.

Sorry if this is pretentious, I just love this universe so much on so many levels

I can remain silent on this matter no more. That part in Under The Red Hood when Joker says "When I wore that number, it was classy. More flashy maitre d' than motorcycle fetish." And then he says something SIMILAR WHEN HE MEETS JASON??? you're a fucking clown. How could you not come up with a better secondary joke instead of repeating the same one???

I’d say this is very in character actually! The bonus shows the perfect logical reason but, like you mentioned, he’s still just a kid! Light up shoes are the coolest! I really wish we as a fandom had more headcanons about Damien being a kid. No one is immune to being young, and he’s suppressed so much of it. Let’s give him more joy🧡
