More updates are being made and this is a small team, but for such a new program compared to blue sky the UI is great and clean. 10/10 would recommend

After watching dimension 20 for years now I finally decided to try watching Exandria Unlimited and Calamity since I was already familiar with Brennan and Aabria’s DM styles. Even though it took a bit of an adjustment- thanks to Flando’s timestamps I was finally able to break down the episodes into bite sized pieces, but once I got used to watching them a bit at a time I began to really enjoy it!

I watched the LOVM and enjoyed the series a lot as well which intruiged me to the original campaign since I found out the show only covered a couple arcs- so I figured the only way to catch up to the Mount Everest of content ahead of me was to begin where it all starts :3

Doodling this tracker felt really fun and gave me some motivation to chip away at the season with the progress bars, I like seeing how far along I am and taking note of moments I like best

I definitely won’t be doing this for every episode but I wanted to keep little snapshots of how I’m liking the campaign, and since I don’t know anyone else who’s watching C1 from the beginning I figured why not post it here

I’m new to the critter space and the community but I’m excited to look around and engage in another actual play, anyone else re/watching from the start? Any suggestions for getting through the show?

With the tone shift Depresbian Dairies is going to take, in addition to the fact that I don’t really relate to Skirt-Wearing-Wren anymore (I’ll be 21 this year and my current look resonates more with 16 year old me) I decided to come up with some new outfits that ring truer to how I presently dress and feel. So that being said, what do we think- which outfit do you think looks best? I’m thinking maybe rotate them sometimes but mostly I’m trying to stick to just one. (Also we’re going all white with colored hair because there wasn’t enough contrast between the blues in my old design.) But yeah gimmie your thoughts please 🙏

She’s come such a long way 🪴 I’m so excited, I’ve written the ending and beginning- just gotta add the stuff in the middle. Trieste’s magic system has been developed and so has a lot of the lore of the world- I can’t wait to start doing environment studies for The Mock Witch comic ☺️

And about the AI opt-out setting Tumblr will deploy tomorrow, I’ll just let you with the words of the person in charge of the heist:

Andrew Spittle, Automattic’s head of AI replied: “We will notify existing partners on a regular basis about anyone who’s opted out since the last time we provided a list. […] I believe partners will honor this based on our conversations with them to this point.”

So Tumblr will notify openAi and Midjourney that you wish your posts to not be used and it’s entirely up to them to comply or not. And as we know, we are talking about some of the less ethical companies on the internet (which honestly is kind of a feat), so that cute little setting will most than probably do nothing and less.

I adore all of cait mays designs this season and since I’m making a YouTube video on techniques for lineless digital painting I figured I’d make Fanart of my favorite bad kids- this one is of fig using a technique of blocks of color, gradients, and a few sketchy defining lines to separate features!

Not gonna lie I’m proud of myself for this one, I’m chronically ill and 2024 started off rough for my health- this is the first painting I’ve completed in the new year!

I also think the concept I came up for figs band tee was pretty cool- it’s her name with a cig and a fig beneath as a logo. I tried my best to do a flame inspired font but it may have been a bit much

Just wanted to give a small update on Depresbian Dairies:

Tldr- the theme of this comic will be changing a bit due to changes in my health.

So it’s been six months since I’ve made a DD comic, and honestly if you read the last one you can take a guess as to why. See, I started making Depresbian Dairies when my symptoms were starting to affect me so much my illness became visible- and I wanted to fight it. To find a way to see humor and light in something that’s been pretty grim.

But the truth is managing my symptoms has only gotten more difficult and especially since 2024 began and I had a 22 day flair up— I’ve been feeling anything but humorous and positive about my chronic pain.

How am I supposed to draw funny and lighthearted panels when I’m just, really angry, and upset at my situation- yknow?

So,, for a little while Depresbian Diaries is going to be a little less “finding humor in the melancholy” and be more along the lines of “yeah it sucks, and it’s okay to admit that you don’t like what’s happening, but you’re not alone”. With single panels of affirmations or the occasional vent art

What’s been the biggest struggle is the muscles and joints from my shoulders to fingertips being tired and sore. I’ve been drawing maybe 3-4 times a week as opposed to my daily sketching.

I’d be lying if I said I’m not devastated. I’m just hoping with enough time and consistency aimed at pacing my energy- I can work out a schedule that lets me draw regularly so I can meet deadlines set for myself.

2024 hasn’t been easy so I’m trying to have more of a work life balance- hopefully by working ahead of schedule I’ll be able to stop pushing myself over the edge. I’ve been recuperating since the beginning of January and being that it’s February now I feel hopeful and nervous- but I’m working at it. In the video above I talk about having chronic pain as an artist and the struggles that come with it.
