ATTENTION ALL GIRLS AND LADIES: if you walk from home, school, office or anywhere and you are alone and you come across a little boy crying holding a piece of paper with an address on it, DO NOT TAKE HIM THERE! take him straight to the police station for this is the new 'gang' way of rape. The incident is getting worse. Warn your families. Reblog this so this message can get accross to everyone.

this is a bit random but do you have any advice for like one's senior year of highschool?
Take it easy. You’ve already done the hardest shit. As long as you pass your classes you’re golden. Don’t worry about straight A’s.
Use all the free equipment and materials available to your max ability. Shit’s hard to get ahold of post-grad.
If you have any fave teachers, see if you can keep in touch or drop in to say hi im the future. Some of mine seemed chill with that and you get clout with their future students for surviving.
DO NOT DROP OUT. I knew a couple kids that made it to grade 11 and then just said Fuckit and dipped. DO NOT DO THAT. IT IS JUST A FEW MONTHS AND YOU’RE FREE FOREVER I SWEAR TO GOT YOU CAND DO SHIT WITHOUT A GED JUST HANG IN THERE
Some highschools will pay for a limited number of college courses if you graduate early and take em at the same time. I graduated a few months early and knocked out my college english prerequisites at the same time.
There are like no people in trades right now so see if there’s an after school or elective or college compliant course on welding or automotives or something. I know a full after school group of 8 or 9 that got hired off as pipe welders p much immediately after grad.
People are gonna hassle you about your plans. Don’t stress about that. Almost nobody is moving out of their parent’s house for a few years at least- I moved out at 17 with no plans to go back and still wound up living with family for a bit down the road.
And don’t worry too much about your career- literally just find a place you don’t 100% hate and stick around till you get promoted to a better position or a better opportunity pops up. I fell into my career by full on accident that way and so have all my old friends.
Some friends fall apart after grad, but you don’t HAVE to. Check in on one another. Offer your couch for visits if you move to different towns. Keep up on the group chat. Meet up for coffee and bitch about shit. If you grow apart, you grow apart, but there’s no reason to just let that happen on its own.
Know that becoming an adult isn’t a sudden and abrupt and terrifying thing. You’ll likely just crawl out of bed one day and realize you wound up in your own place paying taxes and taking your friend’s kids to the park without your own notice and realize a decade has passed. And you’ll still be yourself the whole entire time
Drive sober or have a designated driver for all grad festivities. Every year, an unfortunate percentage of new graduates die in car wrecks. And that’s supposed to be when your life is STARTING. I personally know a few kids who are never going to be any older than they were because they just… stopped existing. And I still can’t fully wrap my mind around that. So take care of yourself, and watch out for your friends.
That’s all I’ve got, but it’s been a long damn while. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

this is your gentle reminder to stop fighting against your adhd and instead structure your life around it
buy a pack of chapsticks and put one in the pocket of all of your coats and jackets because you always forget to bring one and chapped lips is sensory hell
leave important things where you can see them. if they go in a box or a drawer you will forget they exist
put any appointments or deadlines in your phone calendar As Soon As you get them. set a reminder for a week before, a day before, an hour before, as many as you need as often as you need them.
when that little voice in your head says "i dont need to write that down, ill remember it" that is the devil talking!!! write it down anyway!!
plan for down time. have a few hours at the end of every day to just do fun stuff like engage in your hyperfixations. even if you didnt get all of your work done that day, have the rest anyway. you probably spent the whole day beating yourself up for not doing what you Should be doing, so you still need the break.
if you never eat vegetables because its too much effort to chop and cook them, get the frozen or canned shit. it doesnt go off for ages and you just have to microwave it. theres no point buying fresh vegetables if they just keep going off and being left to rot in the bottom of your fridge
if you struggle to decide what to have for dinner every day, take the decision out of it. choose a set of meals and eat those on rotation until you get sick of them, then choose some new ones and do it again.
its not stupid if it works! our brains literally have a chemical deficiency. you are allowed to accommodate yourself. go forth and stop making your life more difficult than it has to be because "this shouldn't be this hard". it is hard, so make it easier.

My personal goal is to try and make fanfic binding as accessible to everyone as possible, so here are some resources on how to make a fanfic hardcover for under $25.
This is a barebones bind for the broke college students and such. Happy to field questions, too!
Here's a proposed budget breakdown:

Loosely organized thoughts:
Fanfic bookbinders often share typesets amongst each other. Never pay for a typeset for a fanfic.
You'll hear a lot about grain direction for your printer paper, but as a newbie on a budget without your own printer, settle for some nice 92 bright paper. If you like the hobby, splurge after but expect to pay at least 2-3x more for short grain paper.
Printing is a pain because some copy shops won't let you print intellectual property smut, and it's very expensive. You are better off bartering instead or looking for a free printer on Buy Nothing.
You know the thick paper wrapping that comes with online orders? It's a good weight for endpapers if you need to scrounge. Paper grocery bags or gift bags (birthday presents) might work, too.
Ask your local library to give you covers from books they are throwing out. Ask for outdated textbooks (those covers are built like tanks) or three-ring binders that are too busted to be binders anymore.
Obtain a used book that was mass produced (so your destruction of it does not impede anyone's access) and maybe even become a little vindictive with it.
If you can afford it, I recommend the Olfa SVR knife (~$10)
If you can afford it, upgrade your ruler to a t-square.

I really hope this resource is helpful! I want to stress how possible this is and encourage people to cherish what they love through art.
If you are interested in fanfic binding and have a little more disposable income, I have an affordable Fan Fiction Bookbinding Starter Pack that I carry on my site. I pack them myself and drop them 1x/month on the 15th.

Mr. Teaboot, sir, as a security person how do you feel about people (staff working areas) informing you of other people threatening them? I don't want to bother our security people, but I have had a regular become threatening and loom over me like he was going to hit me and I'm not sure if it would be appropriate to bring this up to them?
I would ask you to describe the person and what they look like, when they usually show up, and to tell me the next time they come in. I’d ask that you write down the time and date on your phone when they do come in so I can save CCTV footage if needed. I would ask you to inform your manager and write down a statement of events in your notes app each time something happens that can be used as evidence in case the manager ends up banning them from entering. If they are banned and continue to appear, I would make note and record that as well. Having evidence and a paper trail of events as they progress will help you have the legal system on your side of they do end up escalating and causing harm to you or your business.
I don’t know the quality or capacity of your security people, but you would likely not be the first person to come to them either á similar concern. A much bigger issue is if this customer DOES cause an incident of violence- physical OR verbal- and we only hear that it was a long, ongoing thing after the fact. The reaction to THAT is usually, “and WHY didn’t anyone tell us???” So. You really have nothing to lose.
I would just go up to one of them and say “hey, there’s a customer that’s been showing threatening behaviour, can I give you a description?” Or, “what should I do?”, or, “is there anything you can do to help?”.
Whatever THEIR response, I’d still keep notes for yourself, though. Implication of physical force is assault.
Tell security. It’s what we’re paid to handle. It’s the whole reason I’m here

Can I just say something honestly and very seriously to all you writers?
With the Internet going down the "nothing adult, no death, no nothing. Make it kid friendly" route,
Please don't ever stop making art or writing wips that are gruesome, horror, other things like that. Don't let the Internet sanitize how you wanna tell a story. Channel your rage into your art and keep going and don't give up

fruit-in-jars 101 by stacynguyen
"What is jam? What makes something authentically jam? Can bacon really be made into jam?
It was all very Existentialist.
The answer to those questions is a bit complicated and non-definitive. The U.S. FDA has defined jam and jelly in very specific and mathematical terms (such-and-such percentage of juice to fruit to water to sugar = jam/jelly); it also uses jam and preserve interchangeably, for the most part. While interesting, the FDA’s definitions did not matter much to me because the FDA wasn’t really using the terms in the way that we usually use the terms. Also, the FDA wasn’t comprehensive in its definitions. It didn’t tackle other fruit spreads like marmalades or curds, for instance.
The more I looked into, the more I thought, dude, this information would make a good infographic."
