I started picking out outfits for my mermaid AU, but got sidetracked with skirts. I feel like the more reasonable thing to wear while out on the sea is pants or shorts with knee high boots, but Mirabelle looks so good in a skirt! She is so pretty and I can’t get over it. I ended up doing a lot of skirt studies instead of getting anything done, again… below I have close ups of each drawing. Enjoy!

More plans for that Mermaid ISAT Au I was working on! Now I know I should be writing for my other stories, but this silly little plot is taking over my head. I can’t stop thinking about it!

I fell like Bonnie would be the type to imitate everything their sister does and ends up following her to work more often than not. Because of this little habit, Bonnie would sneak onto the merchants ships that Nille works for. Usually, this would end up in a light scolding from their sister, but this time pirates attack the ship and the siblings were separated in the chaos.

Nille pushes Bonnie into one of the last life boats, ending up saving their life at the cost of being separated. She gives Bonnie her hair chain in order for Bonnie to agree to leave in the dingy life boat (Not very stable cause the merchant ship Nille worked for was sketchy ‘hence the pirate attack).

Bonnie would be lost at sea for a while until a mermaid (Siffrin) finds them and brings them back home (unknowing to the mer). They would be found covered in dried bits of seaweed, cuts, and bruises. Bonnie would be unconscious throughout the whole journey to the mainland causing Frin to worry (Bonnie doesn’t end up finding out about Frin’s mermaid-ness until much later in the story).

Siffrin would give them the “sea’s blessing” (A mystery tattoo in the shape of a strange symbol (A star). No one knows where it comes from, but it is said to bring good luck to anyone’s ship if a person with the symbol is present.) on their upper arm. For Siffrin, the symbol is a way for them to see if the random guppy they found is alright and also works as a tracker. He can find Bonnie anywhere they are and would later follow their trail after being worried about them (and maybe also boredom from being kept in the sea for so long/ the need to explore).

Bonnie doesn’t care about the cool new protection they have and only wants to find their sisters which would eventually lead them to Odile’s research boat where the party meets up. They would sneak onto the vessel thinking it was a merchant ship, but ends up convincing Odile to help them anyway.

Isabeau was a guard Odile hired to protect her ship while sea bound and Mira is a researcher who transferred over to Odile’s team from Euphrasie branch, therefore the party meets and the story begins.

None of them realizes what lays in store for them ahead, but relationships and silly confrontations start soon after Siffrin finds his way on board Odile’s ship. Maybe if I ever write more for it we can see where this would lead, lol.

Prologue part two:

Siffrin swam with all his might toward the floating structure. Stars sparkles in his eyes while he thought of all the cool trinkets he might find. Perhaps he’d find some shines of the best quality! Maybe a curved shiny or a soft shiny or even a shiny he has never seen before, the possibilities were endless.

The smile that spread across his face widen at the thought. Their fangs pointed slightly outside their mouth as they swam faster and faster, picking up speed as they neared the surface.

Up and up and up until Siffrin could practically feel the sun’s rays on their scales. It felt nice being this close to the surface and Siffrin preened at the warm. He closed his eyes taking in the temperature change. They slowed their approach slightly with a happy wiggle and-

*SMACK*

Ow, what the stars?! A piece of the floating not-boat hit him in the head! He bit his lip while rubbing the bump forming on his temple. Stupid not-bat attacking him. He should bite back! Show dominance and take no prisoners, that’s what Loop says!

He floated back in the water, putting space unbeaten the two, and narrowed his eyes. Siffrin bobbed his head left to right. He circled around his attacker, letting out a warning hiss. When the not-boat didn’t back down, Siffrin took it as his chance to strike!

Bearing his fangs, Siffrin bit the piece of not-boat floating in the water. The piece splintered and broke off in his mouth. Siffrin immediately spit out the material ‘cause gross that tasted bad. He brushed his tongue getting the horrible taste off. Not to self: don’t munch on random things.

At least the not-boat knew not to mess with Siffrin anymore. There was a big bite mark taken out of the separate piece from the main structure. It was nasty looking and showed that Siffrin would fight back if the not-boat tried to attack him again!

Luckily, it seemed his intimidation tactics worked as the not-boat floated away from him. Ha! Take that! It’s retreating and Siffrin won! Hehe, Loop would be so proud if he was here.

Oh, wait! Siffrin wanted to check out the not-boat for trinkets and it was getting away! Stop swimming not-boat! Siffrin didn’t mean it… well mostly.

Quickly following after the runaway, Siffrin chased after the structure. He dived and weaved through the jagged tops of the reef below until he finally caught up with the not-boat. This time however, Siffrin breached the water’s surface and grabbed onto the edge of the not-boat to make sure it didn’t try to run again. No shines would leave under his watch!

It was harder to avoid the swaying piece Siffrin attacked this close to the main structure. He was still mad that the stupid not-boat attacked him. Siffrin pulled himself up using the side of the not-boat and pushed the sticking out piece away. It moved easily enough, satisfying a part of Siffrin.

He smiled at the sight and wiggled happily. Now back to the important business of shines!

Except, Siffrin couldn’t see any shines at first glance. He was honestly disappointed and could feel his fins lower with his mood, but then his eyes caught something glistening in the light.

Pulling himself up further onto the not-boat, Siffrin unsteadily looked closer under the not-boat’s seats and saw-

Oh my stars is that a guppy?!

I’m gonna make another part cause this took too long to type out, lol. Siffrin was fighting with an oar at the start of this section by the way. The not-boat is a fishing boat so it has oars. I’m pretty sure everyone knows who the kid is, but I’m putting a cliffhanger anyway.

Oops, I forgot to post this here yesterday. I finished the next chapter of "Lost in Time", finally. Don't mind the wacky proportions of the outlines behind the main figures. I was free handing most of this sketch due to my power going out... Regardless, here is the link to the story if anyone wants to read it:

Prologue / Prototype (1):

Siffrin liked collecting trinkets. From weirdly shaped shells to discarded human treasures, the mer gathered a whole cave full of the delightful and dreary alike. He enjoyed seeing how each piece of his collection fit together and tried to understand how certain trinkets worked (Surface dwellers always had such fascinating gadgets even though Siffrin didn’t understand them half the time). Shiny and sparkly things, especially, took his interest.

Unfortunately, the small mer lived deep down where shiny, sparkling things rarely where… unless they are fish which aren’t as fun to keep around. Siffrin would know… Loop is the pinnacle of no fun!

Besides, the more interesting pieces always rusted away and lacked their shine if they were able to keep their shape from the intense pressure of the Deep Dark. Therefore, Siffrin would often travel out and venture quite far to find things for his collection! The journeys were always well worth the threat of sunburns and cuts from jagged rocks, despite Loop’s protests.

They didn’t understand why Loop didn’t like them going near the surface. Didn’t Loop know that is where all the cool things where? It was boring staying down in the Deep Dark all the time! Where was the spice, the call of adventure, and, most importantly, the shiny sparkles that Siffrin loved? Loop just didn’t get it.

So he maybe sort of sneaked away from Loop’s careful eye every so often to head up to the surface. Ya, Loop would always get worried and angry when Siffrin came back, but it was always worth it for those pretty sparkles! The tiny mer even shared some of his haul with the leviathan which Siffrin knew they liked. Therefore, there really wasn’t any harm done when Siffrin left.

… Exact this time something happened that Siffrin wasn’t expecting.

It hadn’t been that long since Siffrin had snuck away. He was collecting small things here and there, nothing to big, and was honestly just relaxing in the warm waters. They had been to this particular part of the ocean before and nothing had ever disturbed the waters ever since they first starting visiting.

The little sandy sunken island filled with seaweed, boulders, and sand mounds was peaceful. Only small fish and crabs resided in the area and Siffrin long since claimed the space as his private little hideout. Of course, sparkly things were hidden within the area as far as the eye could see and Siffrin would be the one to find them all!

They were focused on their mission to find and collect so when a big shadow covered the space they were searching, Siffrin was confused. He couldn’t sense a storm brewing and this area rarely had clouds come by, therefore what was going on?

His confusion only furthered when he heard the weird clanking sound to follow and his curiosity sparked. It was a strange clanking, not like that of metal hitting a surface but of something soft yet just as sturdy. An unknown! Oh how stars gathered in Siffrin’s eyes!

He turned, swirled, and shifted in the water trying to follow the unique noise until his eyes landed on a weird bump floating where the waterline sat. It looked kind of like a boat, but made of something Siffrin didn’t know of. This structure wasn’t smooth like all the other boats Siffrin had seen and gave off a sort of patchwork feel. Didn’t look that sturdy at all! Like a boat, but not so a not-boat!

The sound was coming from a part of the not-boat that was longer and sticking out into the water. The waves were pushing the piece back to hit the side of the not-boat and Siffrin wanted to take a closer look. Maybe there were shines on this not-boat!

No one would mind if Siffrin took some since it looked like the not-boat was barely holding itself together.

Now, this is an adventure!

Crawls out of the hole she has died in. *Coughs up blood while wheezing* "I- I did it. The chapter, it is done! I can finally rest."

No, but really I finally finished the next chapter of "That Color-Filled Shade", and I don't know how to feel about it. It was going to be small! It was going to be baby! That is not what happened and now I have this behemoth of a notes page on my phone/ sketchbook depicting what I want to happen when, although have no idea how to connect all these brain thoughts! This chapter was a result of those feelings and I am not going to clean it up one bit. Just gonna run with the punches now and see what happens! Here are two more mer-may doodles for The King and Euphrasie! I’m going off of the assumption that everyone from the forgotten island is a mer. I like to think that the forgotten island got submerged in water by some unknown factor (a wish craft misusage maybe?) and all the mers that survived got misplaced. The two lovely figures above ended up in the same place, Vaugarde! They both separately keep the secret that they were mer until they meet in college. The call of the sea was always singing out to them which lead them to driving into marine biology!

The King was more laid back in his research, caring more for the secrets the depth kept rather than the flora and fauna. His design is more messy because of this, although would get more well kept and give off evil villain vibes once he finds a book on the forgotten island. Suddenly, the feeling of being out of place is overwhelming knowing his home is closer than he ever thought possible. He wants to dig deeper into these records, but his memory problems and some unknown force stop him. His efforts get more frantic and morally questionable as time progressed. The introduction of Euphrasie heightens that desire and greed to know more about his birthplace as The King suspects she just might be a mer too given her white hair and mannerisms…

Euphrasie, on the other hand, felt a strong urge to protect the ocean. She wants to find ways to better provide for the sea and the place that supported her growing up! Unfortunately, she landed on the same project with The King and things got dicey from there. They both find the book on the forgotten island together and research it for a time before she starts noticing The King getting more unhinged the deeper they dig. She put a stop to the project, taking the book when she left and all records they found along the way, but that didn’t stop The King form his study. The regret of not being able to do anything to help her friend still sits heavily over her heart…

Both figures don’t know the other is a mer, only have suspicions. They don’t know if any other mers survived after their land was taken with them… that is until Siffrin made his appearance…

Mer-May, Mer-May, Mer-May!

Guys, it’s Mer-May, therefore take this mermaid Siffrin! They are crossed with a Lantern fish which isn’t the same as an angler! Lantern fish are tiny fish that live down in the depths of the ocean and glow a bright blue to camouflage themselves from predators! I like to think Siffrin would glow blue too when embarrassed. They live of the coast of Bambouche with their good buddy Loop who is twice their size. Siffrin is a tiny mermaid compared to others. A small tiny baby!

His outfit consist of trash that has been thrown in the ocean (Kind of like Tidy the mermaid from that one WEBTOON). Their cloak is now a fishing net with a thin layer of black shiny material underneath. It was made by Loop! Siffrin decorated the neck pierce to have shells, one being a sand dollar to match Loop’s chest star. They also ripped up a garbage bag to use as a thin crop top and gloves respectively. Once transformed into a human, they get pants that are made from a cloth and tied together with pieces of rope. I feel like Loop would decorate their pants with pearls for added flare being the dramatic star that they are. Loop would also eventually gift Siffrin his hat, although I haven’t been able to make a design for it that I’m in love with…

I have ideas for the other cast members as well for this AU, but haven’t put them on paper yet. Maybe next time…

The song “Wine and Wheat” by Madds Buckley has been in my head for so long and I feel like it fits well with Mirabelle from “In Stars and Time”. She has her own Change god / Change belief struggle with her sexuality, so I combined the two! Maybe this could fit into a looping Mirabelle story at one point who knows! For the drawing itself, I paralleled it to @orbitalmoonrat ‘s format for Madds Buckley’s song!

As for the colors on Mirabelle, I think her primary color would be red-ish, pink-ish. Her bow needed to be white to match her gloves so I’m gonna change that and her shawl would be more maroon but I don’t have the right color. I do like that in the background I put the aromatic and asexual colors 💚💜

Profile (4/4) for the rise gang! I should have posted this profile sooner, but things got hectic. Here, we have Raph from the ROTTMNT and my interpretation of his human design. The tattoo on his arm says “Like a Boss” and is surrounded by flowers in his brothers colors. I also gave him Hello Kitty patches on his pants as I see him repairing clothes in his spare time. He is closeted Bi-gender due to him not wanting to share that information quite yet. Maybe when Angelo gets home the two could have a whole cute gender reveal moment today, although I haven’t thought that far in the fic yet. Unfortunately he was a bit too big in the space to allow for a cool weapon pose, so his are on the side ❤️

I was having a bit of trouble keeping track of all the information for each character in “In Stars and Time” the video game, so I went onto the wiki and compiled the basic details of each character! I did little doodles of each of their spites as well, so it’s easier to understand! None of this information is mine! It’s just put in an easier way for everyone to quickly check some info for their stories! I included each character’s nicknames for each other, where they are from, and their starter weapons. I ran out of room for Bonnie and the other characters, although I’m planning to make them a sheet too.

Anyway, for those of us who like to write stories, I hope this helps when you’re in a bind!

Profile (3/4) for the rise cast! This time I have Donnie and all his purple glory. I made his information on little data boxes instead of notecards cause there was no way he wouldn’t have it on his tablet. I really like how his human design turned out! He also has faded tips of purple in his hair, similar to Leo’s, but you can’t really see it from this position. His outfit consists of his jacket pulled under and over his tech belt with a code on his shirt! Very lovely, very nerdy. He does have a crescent moon earring, although with a different moon phase on his ear. It’s hard to see because of the dark purple on brown… still cute, though!

Chapter two of "That Color-Filled Shade" is out now! I will give a fair warning and mention that this chapter goes heavily into a panicked state of mind and implies some tough topics. Please heed the tags at the top of Archive before reading further as I am going to go deep into these topics later! Love how this little doodle came out with all the red highlights and I am glad the fading of red to grey didn't get too muddied. So, I made some fan art for this amazing fanfiction by "ronzeaby" called "the chokehold of a broken family bond" on archiveofourown.org. I love the way the author writes this story and creates tension. The scene above is from chapter five where things get spicey. If you haven't read the fiction, you should give it a try. The story is about how Siffrin was picked up by The King when he first arrived in Vaugarde as a little boy, and chaos ensues. It's like Tangled, basically. I don't want to spoil too much of the story, so if you're interested click the link below and give the author some love! They deserve it!

Profile (2/4) for the Rottmnt cast. Leo’s human design was when I really started getting invested with each character’s individuality! I added blues and greens and wrote his font in an elegant swirly way to differentiate from Angelo’s loose writing. His outfit fits a fancy boy style while keeping some sportiness to it. The knee brace was a parallel to the 2012 story, although I covered his arm as a way to hid his scarring from the Kranng invasion. Sorry guys, Leo didn’t lose his arm in this AU… yet. >:)

He also gets crescent moon earrings to match the star theme!

I started writing a new story! This time I'm trying my hand at writing for "In Stars and Time"! I have made a little doodle for the first chapter above. The tale is about Siffrin freaking out about seeing colors for the first time (Only red so far). He notices that Isa is a redhead and freaks out about it, basically. That's it! That is the whole fiction! All I have so far and what I'm basing the story off of so go check it out if you are interested! (Spoilers, but why are you here if you haven't seen the game? Ya, that’s right! I made character profiles for each of the rise turtles because I can! It took me so long to make each of them, but we’re starting with Mikey’s (A.K.A Angelo form my “Lost in Time” story). I thought it was cute so I’m it posting here!
