The kiss scene was, of course, epic but my favorite part was his leaning in but stopping when she shifts her face a tiny bit downward because he's so focusing on her and so attuned he notices even the smallest change and because he won't kiss her unless she's 100% into it.

But then she's the one who kisses him. EEEE!

And then he goes for it and yeah, the whole kiss sequence was mega hot because they were both so utterly into it.

But my fave thing was how shyly smug they were afterwards, like after eating the best dessert :)

Ngl I turned the episode off after SunJae being all Baby girl simpy loser in the makeup chair.

Ik how the ep ends. I don't want to relive it without at least knowing a little bit about its resolution.

tbh Disney, when it released "Wish" became its own biggest enemy. i mean wtf even was that movie 💀

Is it just me, or did all the companies just pull out their big guns against Disney on their 100th anniversary?

The Last Wish and Bad Guys by Dreamworks destroyed it! Mario by Illumination came out. Spider-Verse 2 is self-explanatory. Little Mermaid 2023 fell into their shadow. Barbie by Mattel destroyed the summer, unfortunate for Huanted Mansion. FNAF by Blum House is gonna dominate both October and November. And then we have Trolls 3 by Dreamworks with an all-star cast singing 90 and 2000s classics. AND pulled out an NSYNC song/reunion after 22 years.

I'm convinced the companies were in cahoots this year.

Edit: Forgot Nimona by Blue Sky's, basically calling out Disney's homophobia.

I figured out why I like Lovely Runner so much (I think, it's a theory), it's because Sun-jae looks so genuinely happy every time he looks at Im Sol

I don't care what else they do, they just gotta keep that up.

i wrote this post a long time ago and forgot about it completely. i needed to hear it right now. what a perfect timing.

just a lil fyi for anybody who has been hurt or been let down by family/parents:

- you don't owe them your happiness. they may make everything they do sound like a favour to you, but remember that it's not. your parents chose to become parents. like here's your medal for being a half-decent parent, congrats.

- you're allowed to have a personal life. never ever ever feel guilty for keeping your personal life to yourself (ex: your hobbies, your internet friends, your Wattpad username lol).

- don't belittle your achievements if they don't praise you enough or at all. I got a straight A in A Level Business and the most my parents have said to me is "oooh good job" I mean they linger on the topic of spoiled milk for longer. anyway, I'm still very very proud of myself. my tutor told me this was no easy feat, and that's true, it wasn't easy. I'm proud. great job me!

- write it down. let it out. for me, it's writing "stay alive" in my journal whenever I get a mental breakdown because of my family. not only does that help me look back at the times I've been thru this but also a constant reminder that it does get better after a while.

- I'm sorry if you were made to grow up too soon for your age, if you feel left out or abnormal. families aren't perfect and we can't change them, so just take a day at a time.

aim, not for happiness, but for growth. keep learning. keep doing the things you enjoy. draw, write, paint, take a walk. take a day at a time. and know that you aren't alone in feeling this way.

living in an emotionally abusive household that was your childhood home is weird.

have you ever had a sleep paralysis episode?

if you have, I'm sorry. if you haven't, i hope you never do. but these experiences share the same contrast of grey...

for me, the few times I've had them, other than the "demon" or the dark shadow, the rest of the background remains exactly the same. i can see the world map above the headboard, the brown fan, the broken tv, the desk that is way too big for my small room... you get the gist.

your childhood home has all sorts of memories, good and bad. but more often than not the problem you had as a kid don't seem so big as a grown up now. so, looking back, you find yourself walking through a warmly lit corridor.

your mom's calling you for lunch, your dad's come home early to surprise you, you're all listening to oldies while having dinner. and though your parents hardly tolerate each other, they join forces to comfort you whenever you're hurt...

now they're the ones doing the hurting.

mom's food is hard to swallow because she serves it with a side of nasty insults that erode at your sanity bit by bit. dad's never coming back home, kiddo. bills pile up and you're the only one to take care of them. all the while you desperately trying to cling onto what little ounce of normalcy you have by going on the internet and talking to online friends.

but when the phone switches off at night and the darkness closes in, you lay wide awake but not completely there.

shadows of the past flutter by, echoes of your parents calling your childhood nickname feel distortedly real. passive aggressive. sinister, even.

and you're stuck. paralysed. somewhere between the warmth of memories and cold grey dawn that does nothing to chase the darkness away. you're here but you're there. you're neither here nor there. you're waking up in the same place, on the same bed, surrounded by the same things, yet nothing is the same anymore.

because lunch is not ready, there is no food

dad hasn't come back home in half a decade, he never will again.

and no one utters your childhood nickname lovingly anymore.

it's the most inexplicable form of time travel. everything feels off, like the world has tilted off its axis just so to make you question your sense of reality.

you live your day in the comfort that has surrounded you your whole life. every day, the same state of numbness and dissociation. every night, the same crippling paralysis.

My good people of Tumblr! You know when you love something so much, you just have to share it?

Niché fandom fanfic rant incoming, you've been warned:

Writing fanfics for a smaller fandom is 100% self indulgence, but despite how small it is an it's been since the show came out, the Love Like the Galaxy fandom is pretty active on AO3!

Recently, Infinity by the talented MoodyScorpio got completed. It's a fix-it sort of fic that enhances the canon in ways I didn't think were possible despite the many hours I've dwelled over LLTG. I was surprised in the best way!! Speaking of which, they started a new fic today called Splendid Stars which I'm very excited to read!

One of my all time favourite LLTG fics is Just a Dream by the amazing raileypink. This is probably my most favourite fic on AO3. It offers themes of time-travel and chances of do-overs yet doesn't make the story a repetition of canon. Instead, the sweet moments are sweeter, the tense moments are filled with twists. Every time this fic updates, I leave everything I'm doing to go read it!

Then we have KimberlyA's reimagining of LLTG called Reverse Love Like the Galaxy. Apart from the writer being one of the biggest supporters for anyone who writes for the LLTG fandom, they've crafted quite the intriguing story! It's not just a gender-swap, the characters are more than just put into gender-defying roles that would make a mess of the time period the show is set in. No, it offers a refreshing take with a "what if?" factor where the characters keep their strengths and depict their flaws; both known and original plots entwining quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing where this fic goes!

And lastly, if you're still here, I too am writing a fic that's a crossover between Love Like the Galaxy and Who Rules the World. Cheng Shaoshang and Bai Fengxi are two characters so brilliantly played by Zhao Lusi are two of my all-time favourite female leads. When the time called for it, Shaoshang chose to put herself before the volatile nature of Huo Buyi. Her saying "He is my most beloved person in the world. But I am still me." both surprised me and changed my perspective fundamentally. It explained so easily how selfish and self-preservation are not the same.

But I needed something more. I needed her to get a chance to grow up, to know what freedom tasted like, to know what it is like to love herself before she loves others or is loved by others.

And so, The Wind of Fire was born, where Cheng Shaoshang becomes Bai Fengxi. Shaoshang is certainly younger and more faminine than Bai Fengxi, who has a regal aura about her while holding up as one of the most powerful people in the Martial Arts World. But in essence, they're the same. They're both courageous and mischievous, stubborn and steadfast, both very capable young women.

The actual truth about Alchemy of souls

Many people are still confused about it so let me clear it.

Naksu/Cho yeong are the same person and is one soul. Cho yeong after her parents got killed became an assassin named Naksu.

Mu deok/Jin bu yeon (Jin seol ran's reincarnation) are the same person and is one soul. Jin bu yeon heir of Jinyowon got seperated from her mother and got adopted by an old lady in a village and got the name mu deok.

Naksu performed Alchemy of soul spell to shift souls with Mu deok unaware of her identity. She was able to shift her soul in my deok's body but couldn't make mu deok's soul leave the body.

Then Mu deok continued to use Naksu's energy to her advantage result of which was Naksu was able to see. The reason why Naksu wasn't able to use her powers was explained by Jin cho Yeon in an episode briefly. I think it was a conversation between Jin cho Yeon and mu deok when Jin cho Yeon was staying at Jang UK's house after she and park dang gu got caught dating. She told my deok that strong powerful priestess are unbeatable as they can lock away someone's energy or use it for them or completely destroy it.

The reason why mu deok started killing people was not because she was a soul shifter but because she was fed bell potion which helped Jin mu control her.

After naksu jumped in the lake with mu deok's body and Jinyowon retrieved it Master Lee cured it and in doing so Jin bu yeon aka mu deok used Naksu's energy which in turn changed her face to original naksu face as a result of using too much of her energy.

Why Master Lee never turned as other soul shifter is also a popular question? That was because there were two ways of changing souls. Alchemy of souls which was black magic and thus banned. The second was by Hwansu the highest level a mage can reach where the soul can be shifted with only someone who has already died(probably as it wasn't considered black magic) so people who did Alchemy of souls went berserk but people performing Hwansu weren't affected
