I love how he constantly just gives criminals boxes full of LIVE BATS for literally no reason. Like… he’s on vacation in this issue. Does he bring them with him? Are they his pets? Does he go to the local cave in whatever town he’s in??

Ended up only playing for half an hour or so… I think it’s a mix between the detective mode and the camera angles moving around all over. It makes me feel sick. 🤢 I’m not even gonna lie… just want to get to Arkham Knight already!!!

Bouta play some Batman Arkham Asylum!!! I love playing video games but the game gives me headaches if I play for too long. 😭 I think it’s the way the angles are and how dark it is because no other games make me feel nauseous. I just wish I could play my silly game in peace!!!!

Doom Patrol/ Garfield Depression Arch... Done!

I have no other way to title this lol. Anyway!! I've just finished my next arch of the New Teen Titans! I'm trying my best to figure out how to section these reviews off so that it's not just a long and very thick wall of text. 😅 I feel like this little Doom Patrol collab and Garfield's inner turmoil spanned a few chapters and came to a finish in the latest issue I'd finished (issue #15). +++ Spoilers for New Teen Titans 80's run +++ I think it's ironic that I'd just finished this arch when the thing that had catapulted me into reading all of these comics and watching all of these shows related to DC was me seeing a TikTok of depressed Garfield on Young Justice. It was so shocking to see a character like him acting that way. That's because I'd only seen him in some episodes of the Teen Titans cartoon (2003) where he was a little annoying, always making jokes, and acting dumb. Imagine how shocked I was to see him struggling with intense internal conflicts in his debut in the Teen Titans! Well, it's not his actual debut. He was in an issue of the OG Teen Titans that delved into his early years. From losing his parents, to losing the Doom Patrol and his new adoptive mom, to his adoptive dad going missing and leaving him the responsibility of a multi-billion dollar company, Garfield was really going through it. Sometimes I find his remarks towards the female characters to be gross and disgusting, but I like how they depict his feelings surrounding grief, growing up, and struggling with the fact that he's killed someone. Yes, he kills Madame Rouge, which legit shocked me. I wonder if this will go anywhere later but I'll just have to wait and see. I also loved seeing Garfield and Vic's relationship grow. They literally make me so happy. But, these issues weren't just about Gar and his issues. I thought it was interesting that they had another plot where someone was put under mind control to fall in love with someone. What I didn't like was how Raven apologizes and they write Wally just... forgiving her without even letting her know how bad it truly was and still pining for her? I honestly feel really bad for Wally. He falls in love with the wrong people and too fast. Of course, Donna made it clear she didn't like him and she wasn't too horrible to him (except when she laughed when he confessed... ouch), but I still kind of feel bad for him. I don't hate Raven or anything, but her character is beyond annoying, and gives me Mary Sue vibes. I know she's not an actual Mary Sue, but she gives that vibe. Hopefully she gets better later cause I think she's an interesting character in concept. I'm also hoping that Donna leaves this Troy guy, or whatever his name is. Terry? I hate him. Get away from Donna! She's too good for you! First it was Roy and now this... 🥲 She needs better taste in men. +++ End of review +++ Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about this series overall. It's interesting and has some really fun parts in it. I like seeing the origins of some of my favorite characters and characters I've known since childhood. I was thinking about reading some of the Flash and Kid flash early year stuff. I've been reading some early year Batman and Robin detective comics for fun. I'm still thinking about what I want to read. Reading comics and figuring out where to start is hard... 🥹 Overall, I rate this arch a 7/10!

Easter Gifts!!!

+++ I've been needing more film for my camera and my brother got me the Labubu stickers from a convention he recently went to!!! I've been reading Impulse's comic already but it's nice to have a physical copy. I have a few random comics that I'd gotten as presents in the past, but when I'm getting comics, I tend to like to get comics I've already read and know I like. It's a personal preference. Not that I'd ever say no to new comics! +++ +++ Anyway, I hope everyone has a nice Easter, and if you don't celebrate, a nice 4/20, and if you don't celebrate that either, have a nice Sunday!!! +++

I honestly kinda feel bad for Wally. He’s having this inner turmoil, taking a break, trying to figure out what he wants, everyone respects it… and then Raven comes in and nearly reveals his identity. Like, WTF?!?! She legit goes “Wallace” while he’s IN COSTUME!!!

Cyborg Appreciation!

+++ I literally cried a little. 🥹 I love seeing stuff like this in comics. With all of the other B.S. in this comic (like the way they draw and talk about Starfire in the series to some of the other stuff) it's nice to see this. I love when comics show real life stuff and show how representation can be important. I'm also really loving Cyborg's story so far! +++

Teen Titans First Arch... Done!(?)

At least I think so??? I just finished the first few issues of the 80's Teen Titans run! It's pretty good so far, but I'd also put it a little on hold cause I got wrapped up in reading Blue Beetle (2006). I'm getting back onto reading this, so here's my review!

+++ Spoilers for Teen Titans 80's run +++

It's interesting to see how Wally actually had a crush on Raven and Beast Boy had a crush on Starfire. It makes me think about all of the shipping discourse that I'm not gonna get into cause it's not worth it tbh. I just think it's interesting how everything is. It also makes me wonder why so many newer adaptations of the Teen Titans remove Kid Flash and Wonder Girl. They're members who were there at the very conception of the team in the comics. Sure, I love Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy, but I also really love Donna and I like having a speedster on the team. So far, I think it's pretty good! I just finished the first few issues where they 'defeat' Trigon aka Raven's demon dad. It was very interesting seeing how all of the characters got together but I personally didn't like how it was all just cause Raven got them together instead of it more naturally happening. Also... Raven has a HUGE forehead. It has nothing to do with the comics or how enjoyable they were, I just wanted to say it. Onto the designs... I don't mind them, but the way some of the characters are drawn or talked about makes me a bit uncomfortable. I understand that most of them are supposed to be eighteen (at least I think so???) but it's still weird. Especially how Starfire is drawn and how some of the characters talk about her. It's still too early to tell how much I'll like the characters. I like Cyborg's and Beast Boy's dynamic. Or, I guess, Changeling? Beast Boy goes by Changeling in this by the way. I'll still call him Beast Boy in this review anyway. Beast Boy's like the annoying little brother who Cyborg wants to throw across the room, but also the one person Cyborg feels comfortable talking about his fears to. Wally's character is annoying right now. All he ever talks about is his feelings for Raven. It's like whenever they'd bring up his feelings for Donna in the OG Teen Titans but worse cause it's all. the. time! I just wish he could be a character without embarrassingly pining for a woman. Maybe that's just his character? If that's true... I might just dislike him throughout the run. Dick is still the best and I love him and I can't wait to see how his and Starfire's relationship develops. Overall, I give this arch a 4/10. I thought it was okay, but not the best I've read so far, especially with how things just sort of happened. I think that's just how comics, especially in the first few issues, are. Fast paced with a lot crammed into them. Hopefully it slows down and the characters get to develop more and become closer more slowly instead of instantly cause plot reasons.

Blue Beetle 2006 Run... Finished!

I just finished the Blue Beetle 2006 run and I loved it! +++ Spoilers for Blue Beetle 2006 run +++ The pacing was a bit hard to get into at the beginning with how fast it was. There was a lot going on that they were trying to cram and a lot of other stories, like Justice League and Teen Titans stuff, were happening at the same time so there were somethings I didn't quite understand. Still, I really loved it! I really liked Brenda and Paco's dynamic and was actually happy when they got together in the end! One of my favorite parts of Blue Beetle is the fact that he has his family. His mom, his dad, his sister. Growing up in a Latino family, family meant a lot, even if I didn't get along with most of my family. The family I did have means a lot to me. I also like how Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle is about community as well. I'm still reading the New Teen Titans 80's run which is going to take me... forever! 🥲 I'd started all of this because I'd seen a TikTok of Beast Boy in the Young Justice show acting depressed and decided to watch all of the DC animated shows just to see what was going on. That branched into me wanting to actually read the Young Justice comics and so much more. I'm so excited to see what else I learn and read on this journey! Overall, I'd rate it a 7/10!!! +++ In honor of me finishing Blue Beetle's 2006 run, here are some of my favorite moments from it! +++

Superman Trailer in the Theater!!!

+++ I just saw the Minecraft movie in theaters today. It was okay. Jack Black is the GOAT and it made me laugh a couple of times... But that's not what's important right now! I finally got to see the Superman trailer in theaters (an IMAX theater 🫣) and it looked so good! I was probably more excited about that than the actual movie I went to see lol... +++ +++ Anyway, I can't wait for July already!!! 😤 Also, have this Guy Gardner panel from the Blue Beetle 2006 run I'm reading!!! I'm also almost finished with that already... 😅 +++
