Hello everyone! Just a quick update!

I'm still working on this project! I've been researching the fandom and the fanworks on TikTok, AO3 and now on Spotify. Thanks to the two spectacularly amazing people who took the time to answer my admittedly long questions, I had the chance to add creators I didn't know before and their content to the thesis.

After Spotify, I'll go for YouTube and the fancast. If anyone has any suggestions (creators I should look into, music, fanfics that feel particularly important) or opinions (mostly on the Marauders and the fandom, but also about fan productions in general and fanon) I'd love to read you!

It's been some time. I turned 22 (yey!), finished my last year of university and all that's left for me to graduate is to finish this thesis. Which is what I'm working on right now.

I came across an interesting topic, and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the way the LGBTQIA+ community is present and represented in the Marauders fanfics, fanart, edits and fan community in general. If you are a creator, would you share what moves you to make certain characters part of the community? Is the need/want for representation? Is it because of an interpretation of the character? What do you think of the thoughts J.K. Rowling has regarding the topic?

Hello!! It's been a long time! Happy New Year!

I'm here to make a little update: I have one book left to read and quote on the second chapter of my thesis and I'll be done with that. It's 370 pages long, but tonight I'll try to make it to page 50. The book is Transmedia Culture by Henry Jenkins, and it explores the way people interact with content on the Internet. It's very interesting, but I'm also very tired, so we'll see how this goes.

As usual, it'd be a dream to have the chance to interview MsKingBean89, so if you could reblog, that would help a lot. Thank you!

Hello!! I hope everyone is having a good week! Just wanted to post a little update.

I finished all my subjects (with great grades, too!), so all I have left to do to graduate is finish my thesis. So far, it has around 65 pages, but that may vary when I fix the format.

I'll do my best to finish the first draft before the 20th of December, so my teacher and my thesis director can take a look at it before I submit it.

It will have four chapters. The first one is already done. I have more than half of the second, a good part of the third and an idea of the fourth. The plan is to finish chapter 2, which is basically an investigation of what has already been said about transmedia. After that, I'll focus on chapter 3, my own investigation. Finally, chapter 4 is just going to be all the conclusions.

I'm closer but there is still a lot of work to do. Thanks for following along!

I'm still here! Had a little scare today, I almost lost the most recent version of my work and almost died. Luckily, my barely-existent knowledge of computers was enough to save it.

I bring you a fun fact! I started adding up the hits in ATYD and all the translations linked in the first chapter, and they come up to more than 16M! That's more than third of the people in my country.

Anyway, I'm still working and researching. My professor hopes my thesis will be mostly ready by the very end of october, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do everything that's left to do by then. I'll try, though. Wish me good luck!

I've been working, I already have a couple points I'd like to write down soon. It's hard to put so much effort and see how little my document grows, but I know that as soon as I finish the investigation part, almost everything will be done.

Hi! I'm still working here. I don't have much to report, other than more reading being done. I'll add the Streisand to the possible topics I may touch on the thesis.

It basically says that the more someone tries to erase something from the internet, the more viral it goes. I wonder how J.K. Rowling's homophobia and transfobia relate to the many queer ships + fanfiction that circulate about her characters.

So far we're 28 pages in! I expect to add at least 20 pages explaining the previous studies and how they're related to mine. That would include the concept of transmedia (which I'm working on right now) and a description of the fan production culture.

Other than that, I'm working on my sources. Since I can't use surveys to gather information (wouldn't be able to select a representative sample), I'll be doing interviews and using documentary observation as data collection techniques.

In short, we're doing good so far but there's a long way to go. Thanks for tagging along!

Hi! I'm working in the library today, I need to read "Narrativas digitales: redes, tendencias y memes" (something like "Digital narratives: social networks, trends and memes") by A. Amado, C. Bianchi, V. Groisman, J.M. Herranz de la Casa, P. Sidorenko Bautista, A. Silva and L. Zanoni. I'm excited because a lot of women worked on this.

So far, it's easy to read and describes the differences between transmedia and multimedia, and the evolution from one to the other.

As a reminder, I'm still hoping MsKingBean89 will see this!! And I need anyone who is part of the Marauders fandom and is willing to participate in a written interview! I'd use either your username or (if you prefer it) your name in my thesis.

Hello again! A little update: I'm starting to confirm a couple of interviews. I'll talk to a professor about literature and social media- I'm pretty sure she'll want to help because she was my teacher back in highschool and she's great. I'm also possibly getting an interview with a specialist in transmedia, which makes me feel really intimidated. But we're doing it scared anyway!

I'd also like to interview some fanfic writers. The questions will be about the Marauders fandom, its history and the material the fans produce (all and any kind: video, audio, text, image, cosplay, etc). So if you're intrested in being part of the Marauders Thesis, please let me know.

Hello again! Thank you so much to everyone reblogging this!♥️ We haven't reached MsKingBean89 yet, but I'll keep trying until the day I have to turn in my thesis.

I'll try to add something new every time I reblog, just so I won't bore you when I pop up in your dash so often with the same post. Today, I bring you something that surprised me a lot.

I was talking to my thesis director about what kind of things I would like to ask in the interviews, and I used terms like fanon, fancast, edit and fanart. He, a little concerned, asked me if fans and fanfic writers would understand all those academic terms.

He thought academia had come up with the word edit. I had the pleasure to explain that, before academics found out about them, they were just internet/fandom slang.

Reblogging to increase the reach + little fun fact!

The reason I decided to write my thesis on the Marauders is the fancast. I've always found it fascinating how many fans managed to agree on the same actors! That interest grew, and became a need to know how we, as a collective, create a personality for each character. It goes way deeper than the original character, and sometimes it seems like -with all the media we produce- they end up having as many layers as a real person.
