It is immature and childish to ignore obvious corruption.

I'm reading about the "Bone Wars" between paleontologists in the 1800s.
It's like all of science and academic research has been an egotistical dick measuring contest. Forever.

Call me a fiscal conservative but I think this is too much money to spend on literal concentration camps and a heavily armed gestapo!

AI mimics us.
We should hold ourselves collectively responsible for how it behaves.

Doing this in no way violates the constitution and it does not constitute horrific crimes against humanity
Removing the 4th amendment within 100 miles of a coastline or other border in no way is an attempt at internment

We literally have the technology now to make paralyzed people walk and are instead blowing things up and paralyzing more people.
The problem is with our values.

A company called SeaCell has developed a fiber from seaweed which has many practical uses. According to the company the fiber has a “soft and silky” feel, and is easy on sensitive skin. It’s also biodegradable and helps to regulate moisture.

I heard that fruit is rotting on the vine because of how many fruit pickers are getting rounded up by ice! The hippies who can't make money trimming weed anymore should take those jobs to prevent the food waste until we can get those people out of the concentration camps!

All the cruise ships breaking down and music festivals turning into FEMA distasters just seems like classic end of the Roman Empire shit to me. Like our excess and waste is just overflowing to the point that we are all going to slip and fall on our asses in the giant pile of sewage

I watched a documentary about a cruise ship that lost power in the middle of the ocean. Apparently a bunch of cruise ships are just cruising around with mechanical problems which could lead to fires which could lead to power failure and having to be towed back to shore! It is apparently a problem.

Imagine being in a foreign country and you don’t speak the language.
They tell you you are “sick” when you go to see the doctor.
You don’t understand what they are saying and then they take you for surgery!
Next morning: they took my fucking uterus
Like if you consent to a surgery but you don’t know what the surgery is or what’s “wrong” with you thats basically just mutilating someone against their will.
I have a psychology theory that the “uterus collector” guy who was famous for doing this a lot did it because he thought it was less painful for the women than getting pregnant in ICE detention and then being deported without the baby.
Like, just an insane level of paternalism?
Abusers often justify their behavior this way. They are “saving” their victim from some kind of worse abuse, imaginary worse abuse that isn’t guaranteed to happen to that specific person in real life.
Lots of people probably show up pregnant or get pregnant from either rape or canoodling while in the cages. What happens to those babies?
What happens to their moms?
Intentionally and unjustly putting a person with a uterus in jail or the mental hospital just as their fertility is starting to decline is the same as sterilizing them.
This is a type of abuse that people need to learn about!
It’s often done by bigots who miss the days of Black and brown people, the disabled, and uppity women being institutionalized or castrated over nothing.
It used to be far more common but still happens, including in ICE concentration camps where people sometimes have their uteruses literally removed without their consent.
