This is a question for older fanfiction writers, and/or fic writers with more experience than me.

Does it ever get easier?? I'm sat here staring at my own work while flicking back and forth to Ao3 to read another popular work in the fandom i'm writing for- and they all just feel so much better than mine.

I understand that one- I am not experienced in this area of writing. I've always written stories but nothing like this. And two, that the majority of the people I am comparing myself to are likely at least 5-10 years older than me, if not double+ my age.

I'm not sure what to do, I know there is always room for improvement and things to learn from, but I feel like i'm going INSANE.

Just try ☹️. Try. I promise you I don’t give TWO SHITS if it’s worse than what a 5 year old writes. Atleast it isn’t AI. I can assure you, it’s probably better than you realise aswell.

Or give your headcannons to someone else to write for you. Avoid AI pls😖😖

Hello!! I’m Mercury, and I’m active in many fandoms, but mainly Marauders (fuck JKR), The walking dead, Percy Jackson and Red dead redemption. I am Welsh, though I can’t speak Welsh to save my life.

My account is not MDNI by any means. I do not post NSFW or explicit content. But that does not mean that people can be immature or discomforting on my account.

I am completely against AI use amongst fandoms- and the use of it all together. C.ai, ChatGPT, ai image generators, etc. Even as someone who used to be borderline addicted to the use of Character.ai from Oct 2022-Jan 2025. It is harmful to the environment, the users of it (to a certain extent) and many different fandoms across many media platforms.

I do not support JKR or her awful views, and I strongly discourage purchasing ANY official merchandise or visiting Harry Potter Studios / Diagon Alley & Hogsmeade in Universal studios, Orlando. Merch is almost always available on second hand sites that do NOT profit J.K Rowling, for example, EBay, Facebook marketplace, or Vinted.

Furthermore, I support equal rights, gay rights, trans rights, POC rights, etc. While I may not be a POC, or a trans person, I am Queer, and I will stand with all of them until the day I die, and even after that. Their fight is my fight, and if you believe it isn't a fight worth fighting, get tf off my page.
