Superhero Part 3 (nalu fanfiction)
Yo so what’s good, this is Superhero Part 3 but like...what I wanted to write is a longer idea which in no way I could have written with one post. So basically there’s gonna be a part 4 and possibly a part 5. If you read this and think, “wait, how is this related to Superhero?” it’ll all start to make more sense with the upcoming chapter(s).
*********
“Congratulations, your highschool days are officially over! Please leave already!” Everyone’s graduation caps flew up as people cheered with excitement, joy, and jubilation. The caps came down in a flurry onto the ex-students. The celebration continued, everyone too caught up in the moment to make a complaint.
Lucy and I did our secret handshake to celebrate while everyone screamed and hugged and cried and leapt for joy. Through our entire lives, we always knew it would happen one day but now it was real. Neat, I guess.
“We did it, we did it, we did it,” Lucy chanted jovially with a sing-song tone. She was the fourth in our class.
“We did it,” I nearly wept with relief.
“This is the start to a whole new chapter of our lives!”
“tHiS iS tHe sTaRt tO a wHoLe nEw cHaPtEr oF oUr LiVeS,” I mocked her. “Lucy, you realize you’re gonna wake up tomorrow and you’re gonna feel zero different and then feel dumb for acting all cliché at your graduation.”
“I hate you!” Lucy whined, hands on her hips. “Why can’t you just let me enjoy the moment for once?”
“What moment? We’re graduating! Why are we all pretending that we liked school? You know how many times I’ve heard people complain about this dumb place?” Giving her a hard time was the best. Her nose always scrunches up and she thinks she looks intimidating, which makes it like 10 times better.
“You are literally the worst, you’re making me want to move to Crocus more and more by the second,” she joked. Freaking Crocus.
“You think you’re soooo much better than me now since you’ve been accepted into Crocus University.”
“No, of course not! Just because it’s the second most prestigious school in the entire world and is extremely hard to get into especially with a scholarship like mine, doesn’t mean that I’m gonna flex that privilege.”
“Very reassuring, thanks,” I say, my voice dripping with sarcasm. It’s not even the best school, it’s the second best. I don’t know why she cares so much. She should just stay here.
“You’re just salty that in less than two months I’m moving hours and hours away,” she said again to tease me, but she wasn’t wrong. There are good universities nearby. Sure, attending Crocus University was a great opportunity for Luce, but she’s leaving everything behind. Even me.
“Yeah, sure. Maybe when you’re gone I can finally get myself a girlfriend,” I said.
“That’s as likely as you attending Crocus University,” Lucy giggled. “It’s the second best university in the entire world, just a quick reminder. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I’m going there.”
“All bow for Lucy Heartfilia!” I’d miss our little banter.
“You’re kinda right though, I’m over this. Wanna go get wings?” Lucy was bouncing up and down with her typical boundless energy. She’s always so excited and full of happiness.
“Tonight, we eat ‘till we drop.” We bumped fists and left graduation in my truck. I gave her the aux cord and hoped she wouldn’t play trash. To my great fortune, the sweet music by Queen flooded my ears. Lucy grabbed the fake microphone we always kept in the back and began singing along.
“Get your party gown and your pigtail down
And get your heart beating baby
Got my timing right, got my act all tight
It’s gonna be tonight my little school baby”
These are the moments I’ll miss. Her next to me, carefree and happy. It’s not like she’s dying, I don’t know why this is affecting me as much as it is. There’s social media which will keep us connected. And she’ll be happy there. She’s been nothing but excited since the second she read “Congratulations!” on her acceptance letter. I spent all my time hoping she would make it in, so I was surprised by how much my stomach dropped when she read the letter to me.
I need to forget about it right now and savor the time I have left. I sped up, way over the speed limit, and lowered the windows. The wind blew through our hair as we both blurted the lyrics to the next song, Hot Blood by Kaleo. I looked cool as heck, but Lucy’s hair flew in every possible direction because it was so long.
Life is good.
-------------
The airport was freaking huge. It took us forever to find Lucy’s terminal. Maybe this was a sign that she shouldn’t go to Crocus. Stop being selfish, Natsu! I kept reminding myself.
“Flight 442, first class passengers please board.” That was Lucy’s flight. Soon they’d call for coach or economy class, whatever it was called.
“This is actually happening,” Lucy said with an out-of-breath tone. After months and months of excitement, it seemed as if reality just hit her. She looked pale and shaky. “Natsu, I can’t go, I’m not ready-”
“Lucy.” I took a deep breath. “Your dreams are coming true. No one ever feels ready to leap into a new era of their life. It’s the few who leap anyway that are the ones who live their happy lives.” I looked in her eyes and saw the same nervousness that I felt. “This is what you’ve always wanted. There’s nothing more that I could’ve wished for than this opportunity for you. I 100% think that this is a great idea.” I 100% want you to stay home, Lucy. Please don’t listen to a word I’m saying.
“You tryna get rid of me or something?” Lucy laughed while wiping unshed tears from her eyes.
“Am I making it too obvious?” I joked along. Of course I don’t want to get rid of her. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that she’s going and about to live her dream. I just... wish I could be a part of it.
“Flight 442, economy class passengers please board,” the annoying flight attendant announced.
“That’s me,” Lucy whispered with a soft smile on her face. She wrapped me into a hug, squeezing tightly. I hugged her back, knowing this was the last one for a long time. Be happy for her, Natsu. Be supportive, stop thinking about yourself. It was our last moments in person together for who knows how long yet I was silent. I couldn’t think of what to say. Think, Natsu! Come on dude! She pulled away from the hug and I saw more unshed tears in her eyes. I knew she wouldn’t cry here, but the second she sat down in that plane she’d let the tears fall loosely.
Lucy picked up her carry on and pulled out her passport and ticket for the attendant to check. I just stood here and watched her like some creep as she waited in the line. Finally, she was about to go through the gate, I think it’s called, when I shouted out:
“Goodbye, Little Luce!”
She turned around and smiled, a gorgeous smile I’d never forget. “Goodbye my Superhero!” Lucy called out with no shame. She was probably too far away to notice the tears streaming down my face.
The plane left 20 minutes ago, but here I was still at the terminal, as if somehow the plane would turn around and she’d come back running into my arms. A boy could dream. It felt like I was mourning Luce, but she wasn’t leaving my life permanently. We’d still talk everyday.
I drove to my apartment. Usually I’d play some sort of music to fill the silence, but today I just wanted the quietness. Both in the car and at my apartment I just contemplated. What would life look like without Lucy?
A week later I’d start learning at some Automotive school nearby to become a mechanic. I’ve already been working on cars for years so it won’t be too much of a challenge.
I grabbed the remote and switched on Netflix. After a bit of scrolling, I found out all of the Indiana Jones movies were on Netflix. “Sweet!” I selected Raiders of the Lost Ark then grabbed blankets, snacks, and drinks for Lucy and I. It was only when I got back to the couch that I remembered Lucy wasn’t there anymore. Force of habit, I guess.
Man, getting used to this is gonna be tough.
———-
*9 months after graduation, 7 months since Lucy left*
The thing that surprised me the most was that I was actually learning a lot in school, I thought I knew everything. A mechanic at the nicest shop around took me in as his assistant. My schedule was full between school and the shop. When I get my certificate in a year and a half, I’d begin working there full time.
Lucy and I used to talk every single day for hours. We‘d constantly text or facetime or snapchat, but both our lives have gotten so busy. We still talk everyday (streaks) but not one conversation hasn’t been cut short due to one of us needing to do something.
“Morning Luce!”
“Good morning! Dude have you seen the trailer for the new Avengers movie?”
“No, it’s out?! I’ll check it out when I get home. Class is starting, I’ll call you later.”
Looking back at these past conversations made me realize how short and choppy they were. That wasn’t either of our intentions but that’s how it was turning out and it just really sucks.
--------
*11 months since graduation, 9 months since Lucy left*
My phone vibrated from the charger when I was watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. I checked it, hoping it wasn’t anything important and I wasn’t called in to work so I could enjoy my day off. It was an instagram notification from Lucy. Apparently she just posted something. After switching my phone off silent, I opened instagram to check it out but was stopped when I got a call from her.
“Sup Luce.”
“Did you see my post on instagram?!” She practically screamed. I turned down the volume a bit.
“You mean the one you just posted literal seconds ago?” She ignored my comment and continued on.
“Check out the post now! Do it! Open Instagram! Like the post so I know you saw it!” I opened up the app and her post was the first one on my feed.
“‘Mark the day, everybody,’” I read, “‘because today is the beginning of Mark and I’s relationship’? Lucy you have a boyfriend?!” She never even told me she was talking to somebody! I know communication has been tough with both of our busy schedules but I didn’t think we were drifting apart so much so that she wouldn’t tell me something like this!
“Yup, he asked me out today. We’ve been talking for a while now, if you know what I mean,” she said with a suggestive tone.
“Congratulations, though I don’t even know who this mystery Mark is.” Making sure to add a laugh so it didn’t look like I was calling her out, I awaited her response.
“If you did know him, you’d love him Natsu. You guys would get along so well.”
“But I don’t know him.” My voice conveyed the frustration that was starting to stir in me, becoming a little louder and more aggressive. Luckily, it was subtle enough for Lucy not to catch.
“Stop being a little wuss,” Lucy joked. “He’s my boyfriend, not yours. You don’t need to know him.” Her tone was so lighthearted, yet I took the words so seriously.
Is that supposed to sting? This whole conversation really just isn’t doing it for me. Not only that, but for some reason now I feel sick too. My gut feels weird. “Well I hope y’all live happily ever after in that dream castle you’d always draw on the back of your tests. Wanna continue this conversation later? I gotta deal with a client for the shop.” I was currently sitting on my couch with a show on Hulu paused.
“For sure, see ya!” And with that, one of the hardest phone calls of my life came to a close. I don’t know how I feel about this Mark guy. Whoever he is, I don’t want Lucy dating him. It’s not my choice, that’s obvious, but I thought she’d at least consult me about whether she should date him. Or, you know, tell me about him! Is our friendship slowly deteriorating? Maybe I’m just thinking about myself too much, or like, being too possessive of a best friend. She doesn’t have to tell me everything. Lucy can do whatever she wants.
I ignored the tight feeling in my chest and continued watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. The episodes passed by but they didn’t register. My thoughts consumed me. Anxiety about my friendship with Lucy just made that already weird chest pain feel worse. I didn’t cry but boy did it feel like I was gonna. Was our friendship dying? All I know for certain now is that I’m the king of overthinking.
***************
As I said earlier, there will be more. Please leave a comment, for real, I legitimately wanna know what’s good and what’s not and how I can fix whatever to make the experience better for y’all.

If anyone’s been wondering about my recent inactivity, it’s because I’ve hit a serious block when it comes to writing romance. Ive been getting back into the groove though. Just an FYI

Will there be a part 3 of "Superhero"? I like the story i want to see them end up together.
I for sure can, I even have an idea for it already, but I have to warn you, I may be taking a different route with it than you guys may be expecting 😂
I like Superhero, tbh. I think it’s one of my favorites that I’ve written. It doesn’t do as well as some of my other works when it comes to likes/reblogs/comments, but honestly, I feel like Superhero feels more real to me, like I can relate to it.
In the first part, they struggled with bullying in their elementary and middle school years, which was a problem they faced. In high school, Lucy dealt with just straight up mean people and insecurities. Yet again, another problem they’ve faced, but a little bigger. And for the third part, and I’m not gonna spoil anything, they face more problems as they grow up, and those problems are more severe than the initial two.
Life is tough. As someone grows older, life can get even more tough. What I like about superhero is that though these two face adversity, they have their “superhero” who is there to support them and love them unconditionally through the trials, which is something I feel like we all need in life.
Now I understand you probably weren’t expecting this really long, serious answer so I’m sorry 😂
But yes, there will be a part 3 :)

! Followers/Nalu Lovers, Attention !
okay, so I’m writing something rn and it’s my first time writing a story like this. It’s more dark and mysterious (not like angsty teen drama, lord no 😂). My question is do y’all want it to be a quick like 2-3 chapter story or a small series, like 8-10 chapters? Please respond to this ASAP, and once the first chapter goes up I’m gonna delete this post

The Photo Album
It’s been a while lol, yeah I’m pretty bad at consistently posting I gotta work on that. Please leave a comment, feedback of any sort is much appreciated. This was requested by @notacelestialwizard and I hope I didn’t disappoint!
****************
The Christmas tree in the corner of Lucy’s house sat gloomily and unlit. An ornament fell off and shattered after she threw a book at it, and she’s yet to clean up the mess. She sat on the floor, staring at the opened book now across the room. In a time of joy on Christmas Eve, Lucy could only feel sorrow.
It was a photo album. Less than a half of it was full. Pictures of her, her mother, and her father. Every year they took them together: by the tree, in the snow, baking cookies, etc. There were 90 pages total, 5 for every year of Lucy’s life until she turned 18. Only the first 30 were filled out.
Lucy got up and picked up the album. It was opened to a page with her as a baby. She read the writing by the side:
“Lucy’s first Christmas!”
Her mom had the prettiest handwriting. Elegant yet readable. Flipping a few pages later, she saw a picture of her tearing a gift apart. She remembered getting a papercut from unwrapping it so aggressively. Lucy perused the album until she reached the unfilled pages. It shouldn’t be unfilled, she thought, drowning in her own self pity.
“It’s not fair. It’s not fair!” She screamed to herself, all alone in her apartment. There was no one there to empathize. No comforting words of affirmation. That’s just the way she wanted it.
Barely anyone in Fairy Tail has had a picture perfect past. Practically none of them know their family or parents except for a handful. Everyone had a sob story; she wasn’t anyone special, so she kept most of these emotions to herself. There was no use burdening others with her grief when they dealt with so much of their own.
Woooosh. She heard the wind blow, sounding like waves of the ocean. The book was wrapped tightly between her arms as she lied down on the rug. Any desire to get up and enjoy the holiday was thrown out the window and blown away by the strong winds. Woooooosh. There it was again, leaving a soothing sound that lulled Lucy into a trance. Her eyes began to droop, and by the time more wind passed by, she was fast asleep.
******************
She woke up to the discomfort of her wrist being pricked with the shattered glass. Blood slowly dripped out of the tiny cut. Lucy had no will to stop it. Letting it bleed out was no big deal, especially since it was such a tiny cut. But what if it was bigger? If her arm was torn open, would she have found the will then? How long will she let herself continue in this lousy, pitiful state?
No longer, Lucy thought to herself, finally getting up and dusting herself off.
“You don’t have any control over me,” she sneered, talking to the photo album. After picking it up and staining it with her blood, she set the fireplace ablaze. She felt the book mocking her, displaying a picture of her parents laughing together. “This is the last year you’re toying with my emotions!” In her emotional state, she didn’t fully comprehend the consequences of her decision to throw the album into the fire.
Pages and pictures quickly crinkled and turned to ash. The binding was more successful in its struggle for life, but still began to burn alongside the pictures. It wasn’t until the book was almost completely destroyed that everything finished processing in Lucy’s mind.
“No! No, no, no, no, no,” she whispered while sprinting to the fire. Disregarding the fire, she stuck her hands straight in and clawed for any remaining pieces of album. “Come on, come on, please,” she begged and weeped, hoping to find something salvageable. She felt a piece of the binding and retracted her hands, which were in the fire for no longer than 10 seconds. Nevertheless, they were blistered and charred. They were swelling, yet she couldn’t feel a thing. She knew she should probably go to Porlyusica or at least to the guild, but all she could think about at the moment was seeing Natsu.
She sprinted out after barely managing to get the door open. The use brought back some feeling into the hand, since she could feel amounts of pain slowly seep into it. The roads were coated with ice and framed by snow. Snow fell as the wind blew, taking little snowflakes along with it. The sun was, for the most part, blocked out by clouds. On a normal day, Lucy would’ve stopped to take it all in.
After about 30 minutes of running, she finally arrived at Natsu’s place. Her adrenaline wore off by then. She was freezing yet her hands burned, causing her a lot of pain. Her tears flowed and her need to see him grew.
Instead of knocking, she decided to just bump into his door. His advanced hearing should be able to pick it up easily. The door flung open and a grinning Natsu greeted her.
“Hey, Luce! Merry-holy crap! Lucy, what the heck happened?!” His attention was quickly drawn to her hands, which have swollen to at least double its original size. Lucy was surprised that she couldn’t respond. Maybe it was shock, maybe it was pain. Either way, she remained mute.
“I’m getting you to Porlyusica.”
*******************
Did I pass out along the way?
She woke up on an unfamiliar bed. By her was Porlyusica, speaking with Natsu in her typical grouchy tone. Inspecting her hands, she saw that the swelling went down. The pain left, and in its place some weird goo was left on her hands.
“Glad to see you’re up,” Porlyusica commented drily. Whether she was sarcastic or not was beyond Lucy.
“Natsu?”
“You passed out almost immediately after I opened the door for you,” he began to explain. Natsu moved to be by Lucy’s side. “How you feeling?” He asked softly.
It wasn’t very out of character for Natsu to be gentle. She’s seen this side of him before. There’s something about it that just calms her down. “Good. The pain is gone. Is it ‘cause of this goo?”
“It’s not goo, it’s sap,” Porlyusica responded. “It’ll temporarily take away the pain while the magic does its thing and heals you. Trust me, the magic feels more painful than the burns themselves.”
“They were some nasty burns, and that’s coming from a fire dragon slayer,” Natsu chuckled. “What did you freaking do? Had me scared for many secs.”
“Many? Not just one sec? I’m touched.”
“Maybe like 4 secs, don’t get ahead of yourself, Luce.”
“That’s it, I’m kicking you two out. You’ve ruined enough of my Christmas Eve.” Porlyusica handed Natsu a jar of sap. “Apply this directly on the hands when you get home and every four hours after that.”
“Why would I need that?”
“It’s not for you, dingus.”
“Oh. Right.” Natsu grabbed the jar and the two head out, but not before Natsu could say:
“For the record, Porlyusica, I will miss you for at least 10 secs.”
“Out!”
*******************
On the way back to Lucy’s house, she explained the entire situation to him, not leaving any parts out. It felt good to finally get her feelings off her chest. Throughout the entire story, Natsu stayed quiet, with the occasional ‘hm’ or nod. When she finished, he remained pensive. The silence between them felt awkward for Lucy.
The door was still open from when she ran out earlier. Her house was chilly. Mere flames were left in place of the fire that scorched Lucy. Natsu extinguished them. He plopped himself on the couch and began to open the jar.
“Come here.” Lucy sat down next to him and gave him her hands. Gently, he applied the sap. Silence fell upon them again. Lucy had no clue how to break the silence. She felt as if it was his turn to talk, and the more he didn’t, the more anxious she became.
He stopped applying the sap and went to get her a blanket. Finally, after wrapping the blanket around her, he spoke.
“We could make our own album,” he offered, but it sounded more like a question. “No empty pages, I promise you.”
“Let’s do it, starting now. There’s a camera in the drawer beside my bed,” she told him. He left for a minute and reappeared with the camera. Wrapping his arm around Lucy, he smiled brightly and snapped a picture, capturing Lucy’s joy as well as his own. The two talked and talked, until, once again, Lucy fell asleep due to her exhausting day. Natsu stayed by her side to keep her warm. He smiled when the clock striked 12 and kissed her forehead.
“Merry Christmas, Lucy.”

Mr. and Mrs. Claus (Christmas NaLu Fanfic)
With all the snow, hot cocoa, and laughter, it was hard not to be in the Christmas spirit. This Christmas, Fairy Tail was invited to help run the festival. Gray was the Grinch. Levy was the head elf. Erza was Rudolph, and was very passionate about her role. But most importantly, what would Christmas be without Santa Claus?
Natsu didn’t play a very convincing Santa; he didn’t have a big belly and he had no beard. Only the hat and a red suit. Nevertheless, the children were all over him. They would ask for toys and parents would take pictures of their darling children. It was my job as Mrs. Claus to entertain the families in line.
“Miss?” A small child tugged on my skirt. I bent down to her eye level and smiled.
“Hey there! What can I do for ya’?”
Her eyes were tearing up, so either this girl lost something, is lost, or got hurt. “I can’t find my mommy.” She dropped her stuffed zebra to wipe her tears away.
“Aww, don’t worry.” I pulled her into a hug. “I’ll make sure you find her. Now what does she look like?”
“She’s really tall and has brown hair,” she said, grabbing my hand. I know this girl is in distress but darn, is she cute! Her little pig tails and squishy face make me want to have a kid of my own.
“By the way, I’m Mrs. Claus. I don’t think we’ve met before.”
The little girl smiled and blushed bashfully. “I know who you are. You’re Santa’s wife.”
“Yup, and you are?”
“Malia Slader.”
“Oh, I remember Santa telling me that you were on the nice list this year.” Her giggles after I booped her nose were music to my ears! I can’t wait ‘till I’m a mom. After leaving my post, Malia and I wandered around in search of her mom. Of course I took it seriously, but to keep her in happy spirits I occasionally pointed at the most random things and asked her if it was her mom.
“Okay, are you sure that that’s not your mom?”
“That’s a candy cane,” Malia objected with a radiant smile, though one of her front teeth were missing.
“It’s a giant candy cane, so you’re mom can be hiding behind it,” I stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Duh.”
“Then let’s check.”
“Malia!” We turned around to see a tall brunette running towards the both of us. Must be her mother. I let go of Malia’s hand.
“Oh my goodness, Malia.” Her mom swooped her up and held her tight. “I was worried sick, where did you run off to?”
“I missed you mommy,” Malia said, holding on to her mom just as tight. “I was scared that I’d never see you again,” she whispered into her mama’s ears.
“Listen to me, Lia.” Her mom set her down and looked her square in the eye. “There is nothing in this world, no ocean wide enough, no mountain range long enough, that could stop me from finding you.” She kissed Malia on the cheek and gave her another hug.
Though the moment was between the two of them, I felt the emotions too. I may not have known my mother for long, but I know that she would’ve done the same for me. Miss you, mom.
“Mrs. Claus, it’s an honor to meet you,” Malia’s mom said with a similar smile as Malia. “I’m Tanya, Malia’s mother.”
“It’s nice to meet you! Your daughter is such a sweetheart.”
“Thank you. And thank you so much for helping her. Is there anyway I can pay you back? Coffee?”
“No worries. Actually, I have to get back to Santa. It was a pleasure to meet the both of you!”
“Bye Mrs. Claus!” I waved at Malia, then began to walk off. In my earshot I heard Malia tell her mother: “Mom, if you didn’t find me it’d be okay because Santa knows where everyone lives so Santa could just take me home!”
She’s not wrong, well, if Santa was real. Natsu couldn’t do anything like that. Speaking of, I walked back to where he was with all the kids. Hopefully it didn’t get too crazy without me being there to watch Natsu-I mean the kids! I totally meant the kids.
“Hey, there she is!” I heard Natsu shout over all the kids. They began to scream, which is how kids show any emotion apparently.
“Yup, hey children! Are you guys having fun?!” I asked with an overly exaggerated chipper tone to fit the role. They screamed again in response. Once the screams died down, Santa began to talk.
“So Mrs. Claus, the kids and I were thinking, it’s not fair that all these kids get to sit on my lap and tell me their Christmas wishes and you don’t.”
Um, Natsu? Where are you going with this? My heart sunk as the smirk grew on his face. He’s not actually gonna make me go up there, right?
“Hey kids, don’t you think Mrs. Claus deserves to make a Christmas wish?” And as expected, they screamed their approval.
Please, God, don’t make me go up there! I’d have to sit on his lap...in front of everyone! My face was getting warm out of embarrassment.
“Come on, Luce,” Natsu cooed from his throne. He looked so smug, I just wanted to slap him. I can’t believe he would do this to me! And these little demons were encouraging him. I’m so screwed.
Reluctantly, I walked to where Natsu was sitting, and sort of sat on his knee. It was the farthest I could sit with it still be technically counted as sitting. My efforts didn’t matter, however, since Natsu just pulled me onto his lap anyway.
“You’re so dead later,” I promised through tears of embarrassment and a fake smile for the kids.
“Worth it while it lasts,” he whispers back.
“So Mrs. Claus, my lovely, beautiful wife, what would you like for Christmas?” Natsu asked me, all the kids waiting for my response. And boy, did I have a good idea.
“Well, you know what I really want for Christmas?” I said with a playful tone. Leaning in so that our noses almost touched, I answered.
“Kids.”
His face visibly sunk. That got rid of his smugness pretty well, if I do say so myself. The kids either oooed or ewwwed. With eyes wide, he mouthed, “You can’t be serious.”
“Bet.” It was my turn to be smug. I hopped off of his lap and turned to face the children. “So kids, is Santa gonna grant all our wishes this Christmas?”
“Yes!” They all screamed in unison.
Natsu got out of the chair. “Guess what kids? Santa isn’t real!” He threw his hat on the floor and booked it out of the building.
I couldn’t stop laughing, though parents were outraged and children were crying. Needless to say, Fairy Tail wasn’t not invited again the next year.

Hey guys, what’s good? I saw that a couple of you wanted a second part to Superhero so here it is. Your comments are super encouraging, I seriously love reading them. For real, the more the merrier. Make sure to read the end note on this too, please.
Also, I have a Halloween one shot planned but I want you guys to choose what the Fairy Tail cast dresses up as. Either comment, leave an ask, or private message me what you guys want our gang to represent!
*********
Sighing, she headed towards the place she dreaded the most that day. Lucy was always the last person to get to their table since her class was always released late. Seeing all of her friends at the table made her want to do a 180 and bolt out of the cafeteria. But she didn't need to. She was stopped before even making it to her table.
"Lucy, you blowing me off?" She turned around to see Natsu with his lunch in hand. "And here I thought we were gonna have lunch together."
Lucy’s shoulders slumped in relief. Once again, Natsu saved her from an uncomfortable situation. She knew she couldn't avoid confrontation forever, but delaying it just a little bit wouldn't hurt. He led her to a bench outside near the entrance of the school, which was surprisingly empty. The only other person outside was a student taking pictures of shadows, which Lucy assumed was for a photography class.
"It's so nice out here," Lucy commented. "Why do people not sit out here more often?"
"We can," Natsu shrugged, popping a grape into his mouth. "It can be our little lunch spot."
"I doubt either of our friend groups would be okay with that," Lucy sighed. The thought was nice, but it was too unrealistic to be true. Keeping friends in middle school is so hard; why are there a bunch of dumb unspoken rules and codes and stuff?
"Who cares what your friends think?" Natsu countered. "First of all, your friends are so toxic, Britney Spears is shook. Wendy and Levy are fine but Lisanna And Cana? Don't get me started. They might not be completely bad people but all I know is that they're bad for you."
"Preaching to the choir," Lucy groaned in response. She took another bite of her sandwich, which Natsu was not-so-secretly eyeing. "Just take it already," she said, handing it over to him while rolling her eyes.
"Thank you so much Lucy, I'm freaking starving," he managed to say with his stuffed mouth.
"Why don't you just pack more?"
"I never wake up early enough so I just steal someone's lunch box every day," Natsu admitted casually. "They never figure out it's me cuz I steal a different person's lunchbox everyday. Once, I even brought my own lunchbox to school and pretended to steal it so I would look extra innocent, but then i remembered it was empty so I stole someone else's lunchbox too." Natsu tapped his head with a dumb smirk, believing himself to be the genius of his era.
"How did you go from wise monk to dumbest moron in such a short amount of time?"
"Rap music."
Lucy let out an exasperated groan, half jokingly. "It's like I don't even know you anymore," she complained. "I do but I don't, you know?"
"A good superhero never reveals his identity," Natsu saluted to the flagpole. "Rest well, America."
"Middle school boys are an enigma," Lucy stated, shaking her head in disbelief. It was Natsu's random quirkiness that she loved and missed, though. Somehow, it was the same Natsu but also someone completely different. They haven't gone through the same experiences throughout middle school like they did in elementary. Their storyline wasn't identical anymore.
Natsu and Lucy spent lunch together for the rest of the school year. Once freshman year began, they continued being their own squad. They had their friends, of course. Every so often Gray and/or Erza would hang out with them. Occasionally Wendy and Levy. Lucy grew distant with her friend group.
That was, until homecoming season rolled up.
Freshman girls were in a frenzy, fervently searching for the absolute most perfect dress for the homecoming dance. All of them were under the impression that they were definitely going to get asked, which was not necessarily true. At all.
"Come on, Lucy. You're not even a little bit excited about homecoming?" Levy tried to hype Lucy up more about boys. She hoped every time she came to school that it would be the day Gajeel asked her to homecoming. He hadn't yet, but he still had two weeks left to ask.
"I am, I just don't care about all this dating stuff. I'm going to go to homecoming, dance with my friends, then go home and play video games with Natsu. I'm excited for that."
"Okay, okay, sounds good, just gonna make a few tweaks," Levy said. "How about this: you and Natsu go as a couple, stay the entire night, go somewhere romantic afterwards, have your first kiss, and then go home and think about him all night!”
Lucy blinked twice, then pinched her arm. "Woah, this isn't a dream. It's real. You actually think that Natsu and I have something romantic going on between us? Gajeel's making you loosen a couple screws up there.” Lucy gestured to Levy’s head.
"Very funny, Lucy," Levy retorted drily. "I'm trying to help you. One day, you're gonna realize you're all alone and cry because you wouldn't listen to me."
"I'm 14, chill," Lucy chuckled. She spotted Natsu in the distance and used that as an excuse to leave the conversation. He was with his friends. She strided towards them, not mentally prepared to be stopped by another one of her friends to talk about homecoming. Though, what Levy said did repeat in her mind.
I couldn't date Natsu, right? He's literally like a brother to me. There's no chemistry between us. It's not possible. Is it? Well it doesn't matter, because I don't like him, so take that Levy!
She reached Natsu's friends, and she soon realized that she had jumped from one conversation about homecoming to another.
"Stop teasing the girls and just ask one of them to homecoming already."
"Gray, do you know how hard it is when I have every girl to pick from? I wanna ask them all, and I know all of them would say yes," Loke exaggerated, making sure to flip his hair at the end of the sentence.
"So you guys are planning on asking girls to homecoming?" Lucy stepped in.
"Nope, just Loke," Natsu answered. "Anyway, what's good with you?"
"Well, I-"
"Never mind shut up the Tartaros kids are coming this way," Natsu spoke quickly. Lucy swiveled around to see Jackal strutting over along with the rest of his posse. They were jerks, straight up mean to everyone with no clear reason. Even the seniors were wary of that group of sophomores. Never had the Tartaros kids ever spoken directly the Natsu or Lucy, but they've heard stories. None of them ended well.
"Lucy Heartfilia," Jackal bellowed, making sure to capture everyone's attention. "Will a drop-dead beautiful, angelic woman such as yourself grace me with the honor of coming to homecoming with me?" His words were laced with high levels of sarcasm, and his short giggle afterwards told Lucy all she needed to know: it was a joke. She struggled enough with self image issues, as did most girls in her age. A stunt like this made her confidence drop and tears rise. Am I that bad that someone would ask me out as a joke? However, she wouldn’t show Jackal that he bothered her, not that easily.
"I don't know...get your teeth fixed, then we'll talk." Lucy smirked at her own insult, knowing that she hit one of Jackal's insecurities. With jacked up, sharp teeth like that, who wouldn't be self-conscious?
His menacing glare gave her goosebumps, as if setting off little bombs across her skin. She just noticed how he towered over her. Not only that, but seeing his lips curl into a sneer and white-knuckled fists ready to pound into her made her want to flee the scene. “I get dared to ask you to homecoming and you try to turn this on me?! Get one thing straight," he seethed, spit flying into Lucy's face. "The purpose of this was to humiliate you, not me! Don't go thinking you've turned the tables. I’m not getting rejected by a girl like you.”
Natsu pulled Lucy away from the sophomore. "One little comment and you explode," Natsu said while pushing Jackal with the back of his hands. "Now you stay away from my homecoming date before you eat dust," Natsu threatened with thin patience. His fire matched Jackal’s. He didn’t let the height difference or Jackal’s undefeated streak waver his confidence.
"Threatening me, little boy?" Jackal scoffed, pushing Natsu back in the same way. Many people had their phones out, snapchatting the entire thing. "Show me what your daddy couldn't teach ya."
Lucy grabbed Natsu’s arm right as he lunged for Jackal. She couldn’t see his face, but she knew Natsu was livid beyond belief. Lucy wouldn’t be able to live with herself if Natsu got destroyed in a fight because of her. “Please, Natsu. Not this time.” Lucy heard Natsu slowly release a huff of air through his nose, like a dragon trying to control his anger. He honored her plea and dropped the fight before it could begin. Once the Tartaros crew left, Natsu erupted.
“Lucy, he totally deserved it!” He roared, pacing around with his hands on his head to release steam. “You heard what he’s done to others, and now he disrespected you! I say death penalty.”
“If anyone believes that Jackal needs a fist to the face more than you, it’s me.” She grabbed his hands and rubbed them, slowly intertwining hers with his. “I’ll be okay, Natsu. No big deal, really. Not like he actually hurt me or anything.”
“I promise you, Lucy,” he spoke with sincerity and passion, “I will give you the best homecoming experience that I possibly can. You are an actual queen and only deserve the best. Don’t tell yourself otherwise, you hear me?”
“Loud and clear,” Lucy smiled. Everything would always be alright in the end. Her superhero would make sure of it.
*******
Okay, I usually don’t add end notes but I felt like this was important. What Jackal did might not seem like a big deal to you, but honestly, a stunt like that could really kill a girls self esteem. I know many girls in many points of life and most of them still struggle with self confidence issues. Please, never ironically ask someone out or ironically compliment someone. Be genuine or just leave that person alone. Of course, it’s a different story if you’re friends with that person and that’s how you joke around, but generally, let’s keep it real and positive, please. Support our sisters!

Lucky Stars (Nalu Oneshot)
Hey guys! Back with some more content after what, like 2 weeks of nothing? Anyway, this is a request by @notacelestialwizard. Hope you like it, but it’ll probably undergo some more editing. I’ve been fighting writer’s block but I’ve thought of some ideas that I hope to God I actually write lol.
"Get up get up get up get up get up!"
Natsu clenched his pillow and squeezed his eyes shut, hoping that Lucy's annoying screeches would go away. When all he did was groan in response to her, Lucy began to shake him aggressively.
"Ugh, Lucy, the celebration is at night, why are you waking me up so early in the morning?" He groaned, voice gruff. Still, he stayed on the couch. Lucy tsked before grabbing his arm and trying to pull him out.
"If you don't get up now, you'll meet your doom on the floor." Natsu groaned again, this time more in exasperation than exhaustion, and got up. It was so early that it was still dark outside.
"You know, when you asked me to stay the night at your place, this is not what I thought was gonna happen."
"Today is the Celebration of the Stars! All of Magnolia is going to hike up the mountain and appreciate how wonderful the celestial bodies are," Lucy began, completely disregarding Natsu's statement. "There are so many people in Magnolia. Did you honestly think that we are going to let them take all the good spots? That's why we're going to be there before the sun even rises," Lucy said smugly, as if she already claimed her precious spot on the mountain.
"That means you have to get up and get ready. Do something with your hair, it's a mess," she demanded. Natsu stuck his tongue out at her, but still went and fixed his hair. After brushing his teeth, he came out to see Lucy on her way out the door with two baskets full of food and a backpack with supplies.
"Chill out, Luce," Natsu said, still too tired to get excited. "They're just shiny specks in the sky. I've been to all of these, they're not as great as they're hyped up to be."
"I'm just gonna ignore what you said," Lucy stated. She wasn't going to let Natsu ruin her mood, not when it was her first Celebration of the Stars. Being holed up in the Heartfilia mansion deprived her of many opportunities like these ones. It was bad enough that she got sick on the day of the Cherry Blossom Celebration. Nothing was going to stop her from attending the Celebration of the Stars.
"You're gonna break your back," Natsu muttered before taking a basket and the backpack.
While on their trek, the two laughed, joked, and told stories, making time fly by. Once they've reached a clearing on the mountain, the sun was directly above them, signaling noon.
"Are we gonna eat now?" Natsu whined. "I'm hungry. Stop starving me."
"One minute." Lucy laid out the blanket on the medium length grass. Natsu sat down and grabbed the basket, seeing a lot of sandwiches, various fruits, sweet potato chips, and more snacks. The basket was filled to the brim.
"Luce, were you expecting someone else?"
"Nope. Trust me Natsu, when you're full, you'll notice that the entire basket is empty." And she was right. Natsu chowed down three sandwiches before Lucy could finish one. Natsu always thought Lucy's cooking was the best. The enchanted baskets that kept the food the right temperature preserved the deliciousness of the meal.
"Just wait 'till dinner," Lucy said with a mouthful of sweet potato chips.
"Don't talk with your mouth full," Natsu chastised with a mouth full of fruit.
"You're one to talk, hypocrite!" Lucy objected.
"Sorry, can't argue right now. I'm about to stuff my face again." Lucy rolled her eyes as Natsu kept eating. She was full after one sandwich, a couple fruit, and some potato chips. The amount Natsu was able to eat and not explode dumbfounded her. Slowly, her eyes drooped and she fell asleep, Natsu soon following suit. Waking up extremely early and hiking for hours took a toll on them, and they needed to be fully awake for the night.
The sound of commotion didn’t wake them up. People were piling onto the clearing, preparing for the celebration. The sun was going down, so the people were coming out. Blankets were scattered everywhere, with families and friends anxiously awaiting nightfall. Natsu and Lucy, however, were sound asleep, unconsciously cuddling with each other.
By the time Natsu woke up, the stars were out and the sun was no where to be seen. People were barbecuing, playing, and having a good time. Shifting his gaze to Lucy, he saw how peaceful she looked. There were no creases in her forehead because of worry or any signal of discomfort on her face. This is how he wanted to wake up every morning. Natsu wished the moment lasted forever. He almost didn’t want to wake her up.
“Luce.” Natsu nudged her, trying to gently wake her up. “Come on, you’ve been waiting for this moment. Don’t sleep through it.” Lucy’s eyes peeled open. At first she stared at Natsu in confusion, but when she realized the time she shot right up.
The scene was more beautiful than she could ever imagine. It was way different than seeing it from Magnolia, or from her room in the mansion. There were more stars than she could count, twinkling brighter than crystals. They weren’t just stars, though, and Lucy knew that. They were spirits. Celestial spirits. And she felt their love radiating from each and every one of the constellations.
“It’s gorgeous,” Lucy croaked, voice thick with emotion. Natsu payed attention to Lucy instead of the shimmering sky. Her heart was shining brighter than any star in existence. Like a moth, he was transfixed by the light. Lucy’s light.
She turned to face him. With a beaming smile, she asked him, “Are you seeing this?”
“I’m seeing it all,” he faintly uttered. She turned back to look at the stars. Natsu, overwhelmed with emotion, blurted out his thoughts.
“Lucy, let’s date.”
The way he casually proposed dating threw Lucy off. “Wait, are you serious?” She was skeptical of whether or not he actually was asking her out. If it was, it was literally the least romantic way to word it. Lucy couldn’t help bursting into laughter.
“You’re laughing but I’m serious!” Natsu said with a smile on his face.
“Oh are you now?” Lucy teased, still giggling.
“This is literally the worst rejection ever,” Natsu said while laughing. “You’re not even taking me seriously!”
Lucy kissed Natsu without any warning. His eyes were wide in shock at first, but after a second he seized his moment and deepened the kiss. After a couple seconds, she pulled back. “Who said it was a rejection?”
“Scratch all of what I said about the Celebration of the Stars, this night is awesome.”
Through the rest of the night, Natsu wondered how he actually got Lucy to be his girlfriend. Though he was grateful and very glad, he knew that saying ‘let’s date’ was a godawful way of doing it. He looked up, thanking his lucky stars, when the lucky stars actually responded. A few of the Stars seemed to twinkle a little brighter than the others. Finally, it hit Natsu. The constellation was Leo the lion.
“Loke, you’re a real one.”

Superhero (NaLu One Shot)
This is for Nalu Fluff Week Day 6: Protection. It’s not super fluffy, I suck at fluff lol but this is me trying. Also, I challenged myself to write this in under one hour, so sorry if the quality is not that great. This is a modern school AU, just to clarify. Enjoy :)
Making sure not to trip over her own feet, Lucy rushed down the stairs and out of the hall to meet Natsu. She always met up with him at the playground exactly 5 minutes after the school day ends. Today was different. Mr. Clive kept her after class to remind her why she needed to pay attention, but who could blame her for slacking off? She was 9.
Once outside of the building, she had a clear view of the playground. There was Natsu, which was usual. He was surrounded by some older boys, who saw a younger kid by himself and took advantage of it.
“Give me back my scarf!” Natsu demanded, tone contradicting his appearance. He sounded powerful, but considering the fact that he was shorter than the others, crying, and outnumbered, he definitely was a pitiful sight.
“Or what?” The blond boy holding his scoff snickered. His grasp on the scarf tightened. “What are you gonna do? Call your mommy?” Tears continued to flow from Natsu’s eyes. He couldn’t call his mom or his dad. Both were gone.
Natsu got up and reached for his scarf, trying to snatch it from his hands. The blond boy kept his scarf in the air and out of Natsu’s reach. Even with his best efforts, he couldn’t get it back. All the boys around him laughed, one even throwing a rock at Natsu.
Before either of them knew it, the scarf wasn’t in the blond boy’s hands anymore. “Hey, what the heck?!” He yelped.
“Leave Natsu alone!” Lucy barked, defending her friend. She held Natsu’s scarf after successfully sneaking behind the blond boy and snatching it. “My daddy is the principal!” The boys’ faces paled and they scampered off like the cowards they were. Lucy tossed Natsu his scarf and he dug his face into it, letting the tears flow.
“Come on, Natsu, you gotta learn to defend yourself,” Lucy reminded, for this wasn’t the first time Natsu was bullied.
“I know, I know,” Natsu whimpered, “but it’s hard when there’s one of me and so many of them! It would help if I was taller. And I don’t wanna hurt anybody.”
“You’re too kind for your own good,” Lucy sighed before placing her hands on Natsu’s shoulders. “You need to man up, we’re almost teenagers! I can’t keep using ‘my daddy is the principal’ to scare them off. They’ll find out that he’s not sooner or later.”
“I’m sorry!” Natsu’s lip quivered.
“You’re such a crybaby,” Lucy mumbled as she opened her arms, inviting Natsu to hug her. He squeezed her tight.
“Am I hurting you?” He whispered attentively.
“A little,” she responded. He loosened his grip enough for Lucy to be comfortable. “You’re really strong Natsu, I don’t know why you’re the one getting bullied.”
“I am?” Natsu pulled away from the hug. “Well, Lucy, it doesn’t matter if I’m strong now, because I’ll be the strongest in the future!” His cheeks puffed in determination. With glistening eyes, he continued. “One day, I’ll save you from the bad guys! I’ll be your superhero!”
Lucy giggled. “Maybe one day.”
*****************
Four years passed and they were both in eighth grade. Unfortunately, they drifted apart after entering middle school. Lucy hung out with her girl friends and Natsu hung out with his guy friends. It’s been years since they hung out with each other. Yes, they talked on the rare occasion, but other than that their friendship was history.
Lucy sat with with her friends Levy, Cana, Lisanna, Wendy (who was in seventh grade), Bisca, Erza, and Laki. Though they were friends, there was always some sort of tension. Drama would spring up out of nowhere. Once it was resolved, another dramatic situation would rear its ugly head.
“So Erza? You’ve started wearing makeup?” Bisca asked, noticing the powder caking her face.
“Yeah, my mom finally let me,” Erza replied, emphasizing the ‘finally’.
“I can teach you some tips,” Lisanna offered. “You don’t wanna end up looking like Lucy, do you? Let the professional help you out,” she giggled before taking another bite of her sandwich.
Shock filled Lucy. Why would Lisanna say something like that right in front of her? “What’s that supposed to mean, Lisanna?” She asked, more angry than curious.
“Well she has a point, Luce. Your face is like 3 whole shades darker than the rest of you,” Cana snickered.
“No hard feelings!” Lisanna said quickly, as if that made what she said earlier any better. “But it’s true. With how you do makeup, you look awful. Your face is the embodiment of gas station makeup. Take this as an intervention, for the sake of your face. I can help you too, you know,” Lisanna smiled.
The nice offer (if it was even genuine!) was drowned out by all the mean words. With tears welling in her eyes, Lucy stormed out of the cafeteria, leaving her untouched lunch behind. She ran to Mrs. Strauss’ classroom, which was ironic since she was Lisanna’s older sister. Luckily for Lucy, the classroom was empty. She lied her head down while sitting in one of the uncomfortable seats.
All this crying is gonna ruin my makeup, but I guess it’s already a disaster as is. Why would nobody tell me earlier?!? Why does Lisanna have to be so freaking mean?
Her head shot up when she heard the door open. Before seeing who it was, she turned around and covered her face to hide the tears and running makeup.
“Hey, I’m sorry, but if I could just have one more minute alone in this room that would be nice.”
“Lucy, lower your hands. It’s me, Natsu.” She turned around and lowered her hands, seeing the pink haired boy that she used to be best friends with. Heck, he was her only friend then.
“Natsu? What are you doing here?” Her voice cracked, a clear sign that she had been crying earlier. She felt her makeup smudge of as she wiped her eyes forcefully.
“I’m here for you,” he replied softly. “I don’t know what happened, but you passed my table when you ran out. You looked pretty upset so I came.”
He closed the door then opened his arms, inviting Lucy to a hug, just like when they were kids. She wrapped her arms around him, sobbing into his chest. Lucy was glad that Natsu was there. Though she didn’t know it, she really needed him. She missed Natsu.
“You didn’t see this but after you ran out, some girl with dark blue hair at your table threw her brown rice at Lisanna,” he said with a smug look. “She had it coming.”
Lucy gasped. “The one with that extra sticky teriyaki sauce?”
“That’s the one,” Natsu chuckled.
“Oh my gosh, she’ll be picking that out of her hair for weeks!” Lucy giggled. She felt much better; thank you, Wendy!
“Speaking of, wanna talk about what happened?”
“About this? No. There’s not much to say except that Lisanna insulted me. I guess I kinda overreacted a bit,” Lucy admitted bashfully. “What I really wanna know is why you’re here. No offense, but we haven’t talked in months.”
“Simple, Lucy,” Natsu said, pulling back from the hug. He smiled and tilted his head, just like a child would. “It’s my turn to be your superhero.”

Operation Get the Girl Chapter 11
Oh my goodness, I haven’t posted a chapter to OGTG in so long, I’m pretty sure y’all have forgotten about it already lol. Here it is, hope you enjoy!
About three weeks passed. The change in Natsu's life was phenomenal. Gray was more hostile towards him, unlike ever before. Yes, they would always get into fights and bicker, but never with serious intent. As they've gotten older, the motive had gotten less petty and more hateful. Natsu, being competitive in nature, fought back with all his might. Everyone in the guild noticed how intense their sporadic brawls have gotten, but no one said a word, blaming it on hormones and teenage masculinity. Master Makarov decided to cancel the S Class Tournament for reasons unknown. Erza seemed to never be at the guild anymore.
His relationship with Leela deepened. He got to know her better, and his whole view on her completely changed. Denying that he had feelings for her would be pointless. But were those feelings love? Questionable. He only felt like he liked her when he was with her. Nothing was set in stone. Everything confused Natsu, which pissed him off. He just wanted to know what was going on for a minute. Instead, he was always the dull idiot. So there he was in the same spot at the bar, drinking with Cana.
“I like this Natsu. The one that can stomach alcohol. You’re a good boy,” Cana hooted while pinching his cheeks. Natsu chose to down his drink instead of acknowledging her comment. He motioned for Mira to get another.
“What’s troubling you?” Mira asked before pouring his drink.
“Just thinking.”
“It’s hard to think when you’re inebriated,” Mira teased. “Besides, you never actually answered my question.”
Natsu sighed before beginning his rant. He cracked his knuckles, which was becoming a nervous habit. “So I love Lucy and Leela likes me and I like Leela too and Lucy wants to strengthen our friendship and I claimed that I didn’t love Lucy anymore and Gray is being a pissy little bi-”
“Slow down,” Mira interrupted. “All your words are slurring together. So you’re caught in a love triangle, and one side of it is unrequited. Lucy wants to be friends again. Gray not liking you is no news to me, or anyone for that matter.”
“Everything shifts so fast and I can’t keep up. I’m not smart like all of them, I need things to be black and white. This whole gray area pisses me off,” Natsu droned between swigs. “Mira, I think someone’s poisoned my drink. My head is spinning and my stomach is screaming. Do you wanna hear it?” Natsu hurdled over the bar effortlessly, but failed the landing. He stumbled until he eventually fell. Mirajane’s sniggers were overpowered by Cana’s guffaws.
“That’s enough alcohol for you, kid,” Mirajane spoke, grabbing Natsu’s hand to help him up. He didn’t budge, so she gave up.
“Don’t talk to me like that, Mira,” Natsu whined. “I’m a big boy.”
Cana drank the rest of Natsu’s alcohol. “You see why I like alcohol, Mira? It’s a miracle worker. One second Natsu is an angsty teen, the other he’s a childish clown. Get me another shot, on him.”
“On it,” Mira affirmed. Just when she thought it was all over, she saw a certain someone walk through the guild doors. “Uh oh. Look who just walked in,” she said with a sing-song tone. Cana spun around to find Leela, searching for her darling, heavily intoxicated boyfriend.
“Oh this just keeps getting better and better,” Cana reveled. “I’ll celebrate with two more shots, both on Natsu.”
“We both know he’s broke, Cana.”
“Exactly, a little bit more debt wouldn’t even be noticeable.” Like always, Cana shrugged it off. Sometimes it annoyed Mira, but at other times it was nice to have someone who took things lightly.
Leela’s heels thumped against the floor. She walked with purpose straight to the bar. “Hey, have you seen Natsu? It’s urgent.”
“Afraid I haven’t, sorry dear. Good luck on finding him,” Mira replied.
“What do mean, Lisanna? I’m right here,” Natsu countered. He managed to pull himself up on his own, greeting Leela with a smile reeking of alcohol.
“That’s Mirajane, you’ve known her for forever. What were you doing on the floor? And why do you smell like alcohol?” Her tone got more and more aggressive by the second. With her hands on her hips and brows furrowed, she was an intimidating figure, for a non-mage.
“It’s a really funny story actually,” Natsu began, “I got drunk.” He smiled, thinking that everything was fine and resolved.
“You told me you didn’t drink!” She shrieked, regardless of all the people surrounding them. But it was Fairy Tail, where everyone was too busy getting drunk or in fights themselves.
“You were never specific about what. I drink alcohol on the occasion. I don’t drink pomegranate-craisin juice, that stuff’s nasty. Who had the idea of putting it together like honestly? Not a fan.”
Leela threw her hands in the air and scoffed, eyes wide in disbelief. “Wow, not only am I dating a deceitful liar, he’s also a pitiful alcoholic.” She cried out. “You know, I promised myself I would never date an alcoholic or a druggie. You freaking tricked me into it. Our relationship was going well,” she admitted through tears, “and it’s such a shame, because I really liked you.”
“It’s over!” She bellowed on her way out. Everyone watched her storm away, then quickly returned to their own business.
Natsu sobered up a little. “Well, that makes it easier,” he said nonchalantly while pouring himself a drink.
“That’s it?” Mira queried.
“Yep,” he responded, popping the p.
“But she just broke up with you, and you said you liked her.” Mirajane was incredulous. Was Natsu just too drunk to care or was he legitimately not phased by being dumped by Leela.
“Yeah I liked her but she never had my heart, so how could she break it? Lucy does a better job at making me cry. Pass the salt.” She did as he asked, and watched in horror as he poured it into his drink.
“I should be a barista.”
“No, you really shouldn’t,” Cana and Mira replied in sync. Mira continued to laugh at Natsu’s silly drunken antics, but her heart wasn’t in it.
For the rest of the day, Natsu’s words stuck with her. “…she never had my heart, so how could she break it? Lucy does a better job at making me cry.” They rung in her head, really making her think. Was it her fault that Natsu has dealt with and gotten used to heartbreak?
If I didn’t encourage him all those years ago to chase after Lucy, then he would’ve been way over her by now. Maybe if I just gave him some helpful words of moving on, he wouldn’t have a drinking problem. Though stupid, he’s sensitive when it comes to romance. Scratch that, when it comes to romance with Lucy. It’s all my fault.
I have to fix this.
****************
Two days later, Natsu was greeted at his front door by Gray with an extremely friendly punch to the face, note the sarcasm. "You broke Leela's heart!" Gray roared, face red with anger. Ice assembled on his fist, and he came at Natsu again. This time, the fire mage was able to dodge.
"Dude, what the heck? And not on purpose!"
"That makes it sooo much better. You're digging your own grave, Dragneel," Gray sneered, conjuring more ice. Natsu reciprocated the love by setting his fists and arms ablaze. Before either could move, they were stopped by Lucy.
"This is why I came along, to prevent any situations like this. Stop acting like children." She rolled her eyes, making herself at home in Natsu's cozy house. She spent many hours there in the past, and the place used to be her second home. Now she felt like a stranger. The thought saddened her.
"Sit down, and don't make a mess or start a fight. I already don't clean this place, I don't need it getting worse." His guests obeyed, one rather reluctantly.
"You lied to Leela. You broke her heart! She loves you, Natsu. She was willing to put up with all of your stupid problems, and you threw that all away."
Natsu shifted. “I’m sorry, okay? The entire relationship was a mistake, it’s over now. If I can get over it, you can too.”
“Get it through your thick skull!” Gray exploded. He stood up and pointed at Natsu, restraining himself from attacking him. “She loves you!”
“And whose fault is that?” Natsu stood up barked with equal anger. “I’m not the one who used her for my own schemes!”
“Watch your mouth,” Gray threatened. Panic surged through him; Lucy couldn’t know of his past plans.
“What’s he talking about, Gray?” She asked with an hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
“Oh, that’s right, you were keeping it a secret from her,” Natsu smirked. “Well I think it’s time Lucy learned the truth, don’t you agree?”

What's your fav trope (in general or for nalu)
That’s such a good question lol it got me thinking. I’ll answer for both. I guess in general I love jealous character fics. Especially when that person is too prideful to admit that they’re jealous so they get flustered when they’re called out. Ik there’s a lot of controversy there though. For NaLu, I love the Dragon and Princess medieval AU. Pretty cliché, but I always eat that crap up.
