Benefits of Stretching as Part of Your Exercise Routine.
Tumblr media
Stretching should be a part of your exercise routine. Here are just a few of the benefits you can expect from a regular stretching program:
• Reduced muscle tension
• Increased range of movement in the joints
• Enhanced muscular coordination
• Increased circulation of the blood to various parts of the body
• Increased energy levels (resulting from increased circulation)
• Prevent Injury
Post-exercise stretching can also aid in workout recovery, decrease muscle soreness.

Exercise Technique has an Enemy
Tumblr media
Correct technique during an exercise has a major enemy… SPEED.
If you conduct the movement of an exercise too fast it is highly likely that you would have lost your form because your objective has changed from recruiting the correct muscles to getting the set over and done with.
We already find it hard to live in the moment of life and are constantly rushing to the next thing.
Why do we find it so hard to pull back and slow down?
Love and embrace the exercises you are doing.
You are conditioning your beautiful bodies, allow yourself to connect in with the activation of each of your muscles and take your time throughout the whole movement, from start to finish of each repetition.
Love what your body can do for you, it is after all an amazing thing that we take for granted everyday. Movement should be respected and nurtured as every year that goes by we will start to experience its decline.
Just turning 40 myself recently I can definitely notice the changes within my own body and I have been a Personal Training for over 21 years. We need to strengthen and support the body through the ageing process not beat it down.

Variety is the Spice of Life

Change Up Your Workouts.
We’re creatures of habit and we tend to stick to things we’re familiar with and good at.
But when it comes to working out, if you want to make progress and keep seeing changes in your body, you’ve got to start switching things up.
Ways to Prevent Exercise Plateaus and Boredom
Vary the days and times you workout. Change the type of workouts you do, if you always do weight training try a Yoga or Pilates session once a week. Choose different outdoor routes for your walk/run/cycling, including adding hills and changing scenery. Inside the gym switch up the cardio machines and levels you are using. E.g. If you always run on the treadmill at 10 km per hour for 20 minutes, alternate between a 2minute run and a 2minute walk on a steep incline total 20 minutes. Use Functional Training Methods/Body Weight exercises instead of machines. This will also help you utilize your stabilizing muscles and assist in balance. Make a new play list for your training music. Music can have a strong influence during your workouts so inject some new tunes and take note of the difference in your mood and performance. Stay active on your days off, doesn’t have to be strenuous but choose something you enjoy, e.g. rollerblading, bike riding, hiking etc You see, the body was designed to move and unfortunately with all the positive elements that increasing technology brings us it has also created a dynamic where we don’t need to move as much.
So Lets Keep Moving…….

Why Your Beliefs and Fears Can Affect Weight Loss
Tumblr media
Healthy living is not only about having a balanced diet and undertaking regular exercise, but just as importantly, it is about having a healthy and balanced mindset.
When our wellbeing is not at its best, our long held thoughts, beliefs and fears and the habitual choices we make, can stop us from achieving our health goals.
Changing the habitual patterns of thoughts, fears and beliefs that you have held for a very long time can be difficult without the right level of support and encouragement.
Our beliefs and our fears drive our thoughts and behaviour, both on a conscious and sub conscious level and these beliefs and fears do not always support us to be at our best or allow joy to flow in our lives.
Many of our thoughts, assumptions and beliefs are formed as a very young child and whilst they may have kept us safe and protected when we were younger, we often outgrow them as an adult. Intellectually whilst we know they are no longer our truth, energetically they can keep us stuck in the past and not attracting all that we want in this lifetime.
As an energetic healer and executive coach, I can support you to release old wounding, release the fears and beliefs such as I cannot lose weight, I am not good enough and I am not lovable, which can keep you blocked from attaining all that your heart truly desires.
Some days it is easier to be healthier than other days. Some days we lose more weight than others and some days we are in a more positive mindset than others, all this is normal. The opportunity to develop sustainable wellbeing is to focus on being balanced, feeling well and having a positive mindset, rather than focusing on the minute detail of how many kilograms have I lost each week and what can I not eat.
As a healer and mindset Coach, I would love to support you on your path to wellbeing. I can help you release any and all negative thought patterns, long held traumas, limiting beliefs and fears, so that you can attract, manifest and obtain your wellbeing goals and all that your heart desires.

Functional Training
What makes functional fitness training so good for you?
With the recent popularity of “quick” and online personal training courses it’s also unsurprising we are seeing an increase in the application of the kind of standard or ‘blanket’ training principles across a range of individuals with individual needs and goals. Implementing ‘functional’ training techniques into workouts is a far more organic method of tailoring a regime to meet an individual’s needs. Here are just some of the major benefits of functional training getting us excited about our programs at NetSweat further confirming our philosophy that functional training is right for everyone as it is designed with YOU in mind.
