concept: after a few meetings, miles’ dad finally realizes that spiderman is like. a kid. and not even like a college kid, an actual, legitimate, “thinks dropping his voice actually disguises it” child. after his freak out (he went up against king pin but he’s so small?? rio he said he loved me he’s a baby-) he becomes very determined To Stop Spiderman (From Hurting Himself), but since the kid’s so slippery he mostly just… dads at him from the sidelines, yells encouragements and backs him up in fights and asks him if he’s okay afterwards between lectures on vigilantism and also do your parents know where you are young man? and at some point the double parenting starts to confuse miles and he accidentally calls him dad to his face while in the spiderman suit without even noticing. but jefferson notices and is like. Ah. My Child Now. and Operation: Stop Spiderman turns into Operation: Adopt Spiderman. so anyway he’s currently trying to figure out how to ask miles if he’d be okay with having a brother and miles is currently trying to figure out how to tell his own father that he can’t actually adopt him

JANELLE MONAE IS A DEITY AND A MONARCH

Seeing her live last weekend was one of the happiest moments of my life and Ive never felt more patriotic than during her performance of “Americans” if you haven’t heard the song please go listen. Behind the irony of the lyrics is an amazing optimistic sincerity that I didn’t hear before. The underlying point of the song seems to be that Janelle, and everyone dancing to that song is just as American as all the racism and misogyny that the lyrics satirize and fighting that stuff isn’t about attacking America its about defending the parts of it that are worth protecting. Hearing the song surrounded by hundreds of screaming colorful dancing people made me actually feel good about this country in a way i haven’t in a really long time. It felt like this is My America and its fuckin rad.

a few animated sprites I’ve been making for a fake arcade game in my cousin’s short film. My first little foray into pixel art but I gotta say I’m enjoying it. Though if anyone knows how to get photoshop to rotate/resize a piece of pixel art without blurring i’d appreciate some tips

Haven’t posted here in a while but this is special. Gonna be seeing a lot of spiderman from me between now and December, and then after that. This movie is gonna be mindblowing and artistically revolutionary and I cannot wait.
