I watched: “Suicide Squad”
After watching it again, I still don’t get why this movie gets so much hate. Yeah, it’s no “Avengers”, but come on, it’s an entertaining movie! We get to see really cool characters like Deadshot and Harley Quinn (the highlights of the movie) (although we also see a not-so-great (to say the least) Joker and Enchantress.).

I watched: “Mike and Dave need wedding dates”
It was a long flight, don’t judge me!
Another “bad” movie that made me choke because how hard I was laughing. But what can you expect if you mix in the same bowl such amazing and funny actors such as Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Devine and Zac Efron? Seriously, if you don’t burst up laughing there’s something seriously wrong with you

I watched: “The Anchorman”
FINALLY. I’ve been meaning to watch “The Anchorman” since forever and I finally caught it in a flight entertainment system.
This movie is so “bad”, but man, how it made me laugh. I was literally laughing out loud and crying on the plane. I now understand why it’s kind of a cult movie.

I watched: “The 15:17 to Paris”

I recently had to travel for work and had a 9+ hour flight to my destination. Unfortunately, I had seen almost every movie on the plane’s entertainment system and the ones that I haven’t watched didn’t really catch my attention.
However, I saw that this movie was directed by Clint Eastwood, so I thought I’d give it a try. After all, his movies are usually pretty good and entertaining.
Unfortunately, I was kind of disappointed with this one. I thought the story had a lot of potential, but it ended up being a pretty “meh” movie.

I watched: “Creed II”

“Creed II” isn’t a boxing movie with some drama elements, it’s a drama with some boxing elements.
Unlike it’s first installment, and something similar to what happened in the Rocky saga, this movie makes much more room to character development and focuses on the every-day struggles of our protagonist. Don’t expect this movie to be filled with huge fight scenes and epic training montages. I mean, don’t worry, they are still there, it’s a Rocky movie/spinoff after all; but there’s a lot more going on.
What I liked the most about this movie is how much Adonis has changed. Whereas in the first movie he fought having on his corner the fact of being Apollo Creed’s son, this time around he has to fight against that, against the expectations that being Creed’s son created, both his and the world’s, and the dark creatures of the past it resurfaced. I really connected with that.
All in all, while Ryan Coogler definitely set the bar high with the first movie, I think “Creed II” holds it’s own. I highly recommend watching this movie if you have the chance.
You can watch “Creed II” on cinemas right now

I watched: “The Avengers”

I was feeling a bit nostalgic, so I watched the one that started all. The one that changed everything.
I can’t wait for Avengers: Endgame to hit theaters, but, at the same time, I don’t want that day to come. Everything will end, and nothing will be the same... again.
My heart is conflicted, but happy nonetheless. I had the chance to be a part of this marvelous universe during the past 11 years, and I look forward to being a part of it when it starts all over again in a couple of months...

I watched: “Men of Honor”

This one will be short: there are not many movies with a more powerful scene than the one of the hearing where Carl Brashear proves he can walk after with the diving suit having his leg amputated.

I watched: “Dirty Grandpa”

All I’m going to say is that my father said to me right before leaving for a month long trip “You must watch this movie, it’s great!”. I hate to admit it it, but he was kinda right. It’s actually pretty funny.
What can I say? We hear dick jokes, we laugh. We are simple men in this family. 🤷♂️

I watched: “Unfinished Business”

I can’t say much about this movie. Just look at the image above and imagine it for yourself.
All I can say is that it did its job.
I watched it while I was cooking and having dinner, so I wasn’t looking for something that would need me to pay much attention to get it. Taking that into account, it manage to make me laugh a few times (let’s go American Businessman 42!). I’m yet to find a movie where Dave Franco or Vince Vaughn aren’t hilarious.

I watched: “Den of Thieves”

Sometimes, you don’t want to watch a profound movie, you just want to watch explosions, car chases and a couple of guys shooting at each other. Combine that with a heist plot and you’ve got something worth watching when bored, that will probably make the next two hours go by faster.
But as entertaining heist movies are, they are predictable. Like, SOOOOO predictable. You can see the “mastermind” plan coming from a mile away.
But what a pleasant surprise this movie had in store for me.
I don’t know if it was the fact that I had finished watching it at almost 2 AM, or if my mind still hasn’t returned to my body after being blown into another dimension by “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, but I was genuinely confused about how the protagonists were going to pull the robbery off, or why they were doing certain things, until the very end of the movie, when everything clicked and I was left saying “AHHHHH, now THAT makes sense”.
So, yeah, “Den of Thieves” was more than what I was expecting. I’m on a roll this year and I’m since to watch a movie that I don’t enjoy.

I watched: “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”

OH. MY. GOD.
This movie is so good I can’t even write about it because there’s no way on Earth, neither on this dimension or in any other, I can do it justice.
I know I say this every time a new Marvel movie comes out, but this may be my new favorite.
Actually, you know what? I think this is the best movie I’ve watched this past year (yes, including Avengers: Infinity War, A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody). There. I said it.
Please, if you are reading this and you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and go watch this movie. And if you have, go watch it again.
Seriously. It’s. So. Goooooooood.
SPIDER MAAAAAAAAAAAN. (AND SPIDER GWEEEEEEEEN)
Can’t wait for the sequel and the spinoffs that are already greenlit and in development talks!
You can watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on cinemas, now.

I watched: “Taylor Swift reputation: The Story”

What can I say? I just can’t get enough of her music. It’s like the first time I heard her all over again, her music just gets me in a good mood. And being able to learn more about the process she goes through to create her songs is so interesting!

I watched: “Music and Lyrics”
This must be like the twentieth time I’ve watched this movie, but every single time I watch it, I laugh and smile like the first time.
I love movies about music and I REALLY LOVE romantic comedies, so what more can I ask for? Moreover, I find Hugh Grant to be be hilarious (he can say literally anything and make me crack up) and I also enjoy the quirky way of acting that Drew Barrymore has.
Oh, and the soundtrack is actually pretty enjoyable.

I watched: “We are Marshall”

Despite the tragic story it tells, what a wholesome movie this is. It really makes you want to continue working for what you believe in and your goals, no matter what obstacles life puts in your way. It might be hard, but at the end, it will be worth it.

I watched: “Life Itself”

I really enjoy watching movies. For me, they are about entertainment, what they make me feel and what message they leave behind. But it seems that may not be the case for most movie critics...
Life Itself currently sits with a very underwhelming 13% on Rotten Tomatoes, but that didn’t stop me from giving it a chance, and I’m glad that I did.
Sure, it’s far from being the greatest film of all time and has it’s weird moments. But the two hours I spent in front of the screen went by in a snap (entertainment = check), I found myself deeply connected with what the characters where experiencing and even had to wipe a tear from my face here and there (getting in touch with my feelings = check) and, ultimately, left me contemplating about life itself for a bit (message = check).
So, yes, I enjoyed Life Itself, and I think it’s a good movie despite what movie critics may say.

I watched: “Taylor Swift reputation Stadium Tour”

Given that I always wanted to go to a Taylor Swift concert but never had the chance because she hasn’t toured near where I live, I was really looking forward to this Netflix special since it was announced.
I have to say that I had distanced myself from her music with her new album, but luckily the show didn’t disappoint me and was everything I was expecting and more. It made me really enjoy Taylor and her music again in the same way I had in the past and actually made me realize that I really like her new album as well.
