After a patrol gone wrong, Damian wakes up disoriented in Japan. He quickly learns that his Japan is not the one of his own world; this Japan is an alternate dimension, where 80% of the population has some sort of meta ability, known as "Quirks". In this strange world, Damian finds himself the odd one out for not having a Quirk, but he’s far from defenseless. Dressed in his Robin uniform and armed with one of his katanas, a grappling hook, and an assortment of tools, he’s more than prepared to protect himself—and anyone else who might need it.

As he begins to figure out where he is-- and how to get back to his Gotham-- Damian catches the attention of the pro-heroes in this world. He might be trying to figure things out, but if he hears a cry for help, he won't ignore it. His skill and efficiency quickly earn the attention of many heroes around him-- but the scorn of many, too, labeling him a "vigilante" and a criminal against the law.

After a few chases, Damian is eventually taken in by one hero named Eraserhead (a man named Aizawa Shouta) and given an option to enroll in U.A. High School, the country's #1 hero school, or he would be put in foster care (which is never that good for a Quirkless person). Damian relents, recognizing Eraserhead as one of the few good heroes in this world, and ends up attending U.A. a week after class starts as a "special circumstance transfer student", and gets put in Aizawa's class for "safety".

Many of his new classmates are curious about him; others are skeptical. But Damian isn't there to make friends-- he's there to figure out how to get back to Gotham. And it doesn't take long for his new classmates to notice his reliance on weapons and strategy to realize the truth: Damian Wayne does not have a Quirk.
