You know what's fucked up about this entire Horner situation?

They were never gonna let him go. They did the investigation just to fulfill a formality. They even set the grounds for today's announcement by already posting yesterday:

"Any statement from Red Bull GmbH is expected to reflect a thorough and fair investigation, but matters of confidentiality are likely to limit the amount of information shared publicly."

By this, they just meant that whatever bullshit we post tomorrow (translation: we're not kicking him out) it'll be fair and impartial. And if someone asks us any questions (translation: we know we'll get the backlash) we can't say anything because it's a matter of confidentiality and we can't share private information (translation: you can fuck off, we don't have anything to prove him innocent, so we'll use the confidentiality clause).

And that is exactly what they did! They posted that their investigation was "impartial" and "fair" and it contains "private information".

They had been setting the stage for this all along!! Who are they trying to fool though?

I hope she takes him to court and drags him in the mud.

Is Paris a scrub?

The sacred texts tell us that a scrub is a guy who thinks he's fly, who is always talking about what he wants, and who spends considerable time sitting on his broke ass.

Does Paris sit on his broke ass? Well, he's not broke (though he did straight up steal from Menelaus), but he does ditch a duel to go lie down in his bedroom with his hot wife, so I'm going to go with qualified yes. His laziness when it comes to combat is a point of contention with his brother.

Is he always talking about what he wants? Not really. He does tell Helen he wants to bone, but he follows through on that one. He seems more content to let other people talk.

Does Paris think he's fly? This is a matter of opinion. Despite Paris agreeing with every mean thing Hector says to him, I think he does it in a sort of roguishly cheeky way, like, yes, aren't I soooo awful [and sexy]??

So far I don't think the evidence is clear. Thankfully, the sacred texts leave us with these warning signs of scrubbiness:

If you don't have a car and you're walking ❌ (has chariot)

If you live at home with your momma ✅ (Hecuba)

If you have a shorty that you don't show love ❌ (debatable)

I think when it comes down to it, the lack of money and inability to provide or even just not be a burden to his shorty is a fundamental part of being a scrub, and Paris doesn't meet that criterion.

I think the thing that sucks the most about the current state of the left is that while we are the most educated and resource rich, a lot of us are just sitting around waiting for someone to save us. For the perfect thing to tip the scales in our favor.

Some tough love: we do not have the luxury of despair. If you wanna be an activist, you need to do more than donate. You need to do more than scream really loud and hope someone cares enough to change their minds. Appealing to your opponents humanity isn't working because they don't think you're human. Stop punctuating every political statement with "do you know how bad this is????" Everyone knows. Everyone can feel it intrinsically in their everyday lives.

Your step one should be to get involved in your community. Volunteer your time, especially with food pantries and night shelters. Even book drives. The more you talk to people in and off the internet, the more organized we can be. Conservatives aren't idiots, clearly every move they've made has been a calculated and coordinated effort. Meanwhile we're fussing over which memes are too mean. Do what you can but I know several of you who can do more than doomscroll.

Fic title: I Hope You're Sad Now

Oooooooh, this is a good one. Let me think...

Perhaps a fic where someone was hurt by another, and wants them to understand what it was like. For example, maybe a fic where Nezha wants his father to understand how it felt to him when Li Jing burned down his temple.

He doesn't necessarily want revenge, he knows murder for the sake of murder solves nothing, and similarly, that pain for the sake of pain leads nowhere. He just wants empathy, understanding. He doesn't want Li Jing's pain, but for Li Jing to understand what it was like to be treated that way by your own father. By someone you cared about. By someone you had sacrificed yourself for. Rooted for. Even if he was under pressure. Even if it was out of stress or fear.

He just wants Li Jing to get it. To feel bad. To feel regret for the way he treated his son, even if he had his reasons. He just wants his father to recognize the hurt, to feel guilty for ever causing it, to acknowledge those feelings. Maybe then, he can finally feel justified in having them.

Maybe then, the past can truly be put to rest.

Maybe then, he could finally move on.

Frankly, he still isn't sure.

Someone I’ve never met but who I assume has temp lived in one of the townhouse units in my building walked up to me and Ronald today as we were getting in our car and informed me he’s moving out and needs extra space for his pods so we need to make room for it and park elsewhere.

One problem. The parking spot he’s informing us we can’t use for a few days is quite literally OURS, it’s included in our ownership and I fucking pay for it.

He said it so like “this is mine to dictate and decide and I’m informing you mmm kay thanks bye” that I literally didn’t understand what he was faux polite saying. Ronald was like “um…ok?” as I just stood there with a puzzled expression.

As soon as he walked away, I realized what happened and what I should have said was, “this is a very strange way to ask us for the favor of using our parking space for a few days…?”

Like I legit wish my brain would have worked fast enough to question him and make him actually be a polite person. I am happy to help a neighbor, but I’m not happy to be entitlement manipulated into it.

that being said, why would you bookmark a fic PUBLICLY and tag it this way? if you didn't like it that much, don't bookmark it. if you thought it didn't live up to the hype, fine. but what's the logic behind this? it's outstandingly rude and only manages to twist my stomach a little before I decide you're an asshole and immediately forget you've done this.

When you mentioned the name of a familiar face, that rabbit actress, his grin falters ever so slightly. He didn't think that nane would be mentioned again... Though his smirk quickly came back, and he just waved a dismissive paw, "Her? That was her name? I thought it was Posey or something- that was gonna drive me crazy all day, so thanks... But yeah, it took a bit longer, but she was pretty loaded for a while. Can 'ya blame a guy for sticking around?"

(Henry is a sly fox... But Poppy was the only woman he took his little 'I love you' scheme as far as he did. She was supposed to be a one night stand.)

At this, the fox's eyebrows shot up in intrigue, "Whatever I want, eh? Unlimited budget? You tryin' to get me to run off with it?"

Henry laughed, but he didn't reassure it was only a joke. The toon leaned back in his seat and scratched his chin in thought for a quick moment, "Hm... A bar. A really nice one, too. All I gotta do is hire some staff and make sure everything runs smoothly, and cash will be flowing soon enough! Maybe I can convince that little thief at the club to pick pockets for me, too..." seeing the look on your face, Henry just scoffed, "What? You have any idea how many drunks there are in this town? I can bleed those assholes dry. You wanted honest answers, you got 'em!"

When Hebry finally managed to get away from this 'interview', or whatever it was meant to be, the fox let out a huff before reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out a photo.

The photo was of a little baby fox, all happy and smiling like nothing was wrong in his little life, while holding a big, fluffy brown chicken in his arms. Even though the fox in the picture and the fox currently holding it looked identical, it'd b difficult to believe they were the same person, "They must never know..."

(This is kinda a joke, but kinda not; Henry really wants that chicken farm XD)

no, but have i talked about this on here before? because i don't think i have yet. though i was just thinking about all of the different people that barton has been interested in romantically, and one of them that definitely stands out to me is auriel. because even he doesn't really know what it is, but in the main story for barton, she's been missing for quite some time. i'm talking like ever since his final year of undergrad. so, it's been more than a decade since barton has seen her and yet, he still checks whether anyone with her physical description has suddenly shown up again in gotham.

and he has actually made an effort to compile whatever evidence he could pertaining to auriel's disappearance, which... although there hasn't been anything new as to where his character is in the timeline of events right now? barton may be the only person in gotham who is actively looking for her anymore. plus, before auriel went missing, she had actually lent one of her coats to him and i swear to god... this man has never taken care of an article of clothing better than he's taken care of her coat. so, this kind of makes me wonder how barton's usual behavior could be so contrary compared to him doing something like this.

i mean, judging by how he behaves around most people (which is basically TERRIBLY, to put it simply jsjsj), i think that he must've felt like they had a deeper connection between each other somehow. though auriel herself is certainly not a villain. so i'm saying this in terms of barton perhaps trusting her enough to tell her things that he wouldn't normally tell a soul, like how he was (and still somewhat is) afraid of his bio father as a kid. but yeah — seeing as i know what had happened to her character, this hits especially hard for me 😭 because she may not be dead but auriel certainly hasn't been in a good spot for a longgg time
