i started this drawing to fill a niche. i’ve seen plenty of fanmade (and now canon) material of bill’s statue being vandalized or beat up on, but never so far as to damage it to the point of being unrecognizable. there were some very strong and specific feelings that drove the making of this piece, but ultimately they boiled down to my own personal need to see bill’s statue utterly destroyed by the one person who deserves it the most.

my coloring process was very dynamic- i didn’t have a set idea in mind for how i wanted the colors or lighting to look and most of my artistic decisions were made intuitively. by the end i’d subconsciously decided to set the scene to be very early in the morning, which is more fitting than i originally thought it would be; that and ford’s sweaty clothes and skin convey (i hope) that he’s been out in the woods alone all night, with the privacy to rage, yell, cry, whatever he needs to do to get his pain out as he turns what is left of his abuser into dust.

i don’t often write long statements like this to go with my art, and some of the above commentary i normally might have put in the tags, but in this case i wanted my thoughts and intent to be inseparable from the art itself. also forgive me if my writing sounds a bit disjointed, sometimes i have a hard time putting my thoughts into words

Or maybe that is just what Alexis Sinclair does : make everyone believe that they are an exception.

Alexis Sinclair is like a butterfly— easy to like, but impossible to hold. Just within your grasp before they slip right through your fingers like sand as if to say, look, but don't touch.

IDIOTS IN LOVE : You never expected to strike an unlikely frienship with Alexis, yet here you are. The universe speaks to you in mysterious ways. You never understood how someone could 'light up a room' before but now that you have begun spending your time with Alexis you're beginning to understand. You spend countless hours on the phone, listening to Alexis ramble— you have noticed Alexis has that habit of waving around their hands animatedly when they are excited about something. It's cute.

Alexis finds themself being as aware of you as you are of them. Like, how you walk in on set and Alexis is the first person you look for, only to find their eyes already on you and isn't that so, sweet? It's not easy to make friends who care in the industry. You are grateful for Alexis.

River teased Alexis about you once. You remember vividly the way Alexis' ears turned red, at that. You also remember the unpleasantly warm feeling at the pit of your stomach. You didn't like the comment. No, you didn't. You and Alexis are great friends. Who would want to kill something as beautiful as that?

FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS : "It doesn't mean anything." You tell Alexis between feverish kisses and really, Alexis understands.

It doesn't mean anything, they tell themself too. It never means anything. Not like Alexis cares. That's how it should be, at least.

Alexis knows the inside of your thighs more intimately than they know how you like your coffee. More than friends and less than lovers. They possess the liberty to kiss your spine while you're lying naked and sweaty beside them in bed but not wrap their fingers around yours when you're sober and awake.

And that is fine by them. It really, really, is. Or so they tell themself.

PERSONALITY : What is more to them other than their pretty face?

A huge chunk of the media thinks of Sinclair as your typical dumb blonde (except that they aren't blonde.) Though, Alexis has time and time again proven them wrong by being clever, witty and charming in their interviews. The public loves them, the media loves them, hell, even Victor/ia Alvarez is— an albeit begruding— fan. Tabloids call them the "relatable" celebrity. Always smooth and armed with a megawatt smile for the camera, and at least one dating scandal waiting to happen. Will you become just another number on their list?

APPEARANCE : Fair complexion. Blue-eyed redhead. Freckles on face, back, chest and shoulders. Build changes according to their roles. (Headcanon!) 5'9. f!curly hair reaching mid back. m!short curly hair. unbelievably gorgeous and one of the highest paid models. Smells like sandalwood and vanilla. Likes thin gold necklaces and bracelets. Their style is ever changing— they don't stick to trends, they create and break them.

Today was kind of a train wreck, but ngl, I'm not surprised, considering what happened yesterday

Eclipse,, definitely said some things that he shouldn't have. Not to Charlie, who is a litteral child and is still learning. He had every right to be angry and to blow up on her, when you take into account everything that she's done to him (the teeth thing, the baby incident, going into his head without permission (I think? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)), but still. There are limits and boundaries, and something that should be off limits to say to a child is that the best thing she did was die. I understand his anger and frustration since this has been building up, but again, he went too far

Charlie, meanwhile,, had no right to suddenly scream at him like she did. It's like she forgot all about the nice things he's done for her (making her last days as a human as comfortable as possible, easing her pain during death, throwing her a birthday party, reuniting her with her dad, etc). He hasn't ALWAYS been mean, he's just under an incredible amount of stress right now. The fate of the world is literally resting on his shoulders, and I don't think she fully comprehends the seriousness and severity of that. I don't expect her to, since. She's only 11, and all, but still

Ruin shouldn't have told her to distract Eclipse, and he shouldn't have blown up at her like he did. He's under an enormous amount of stress and frustration, just like Eclipse is, and trying to sort of indirectly sabotage whatever Eclipse is doing, is just playing dirty. Telling Charlie to distract Eclipse wasn't a good idea either, since Ruin knew how badly Charlie wanted to help, and I'm like 1000% sure that he would've known she'd do it. The only thing he couldn't have known was HOW. Buuuuuuut,, if I'm being totally honest, I don't blame him for exploding at Charlie, either. Again, he's under an enormous amount of stress, and he's desperate to save his Monty, and he's frustrated because nothing seems to be working. Charlie kept offering suggestions, but she essentially kept offering the same idea, even though Ruin explained to her multiple times, in the simplest ways possible, that anything involving her powers wouldn't work. Idk about you, but I think I'd get tired of repeating myself over and over, too

Honestly, considering yesterday, I'm surprised that Eclipse was ok with Roxanne being anywhere near him, but at the same time, she probably just insisted on being there, and he probably didn't care enough to yell at her about it. She.... probably shouldn't be the one to talk to him about today, though. After the bullying yesterday, the best thing I think she could do for him would be to leave him alone and give him space. Solar Flare,, did a good thing by intervening like he did. It's nice that he wants to try talking to Eclipse, and I hope he maintains a middle ground, instead of picking sides, since... if he leans too much into berating Eclipse, that'll just piss off Eclipse even more

TLDR; Everybody sucks and everything is a giant mess. Y’know. Again. Some of it is understandable, but some of it definitely went too far, and they need to learn how to better respect each other. In this extremely crucial time when they should be working together, the worst thing they can do is tear each other down

okay, we are going to divide this into hug quality and hug enthusiasm because those are two very different things

Luffy--A++ enthusiasm, but if you're not from the OP world I think he would probably crush you like a boa constrictor

Zoro--he's not a touchy feely guy so negative enthusiasm, but he's also canonically got the second biggest chest size in the series and I think that has to count for something

Nami--prone to hugging and gives good hugs, probably has the best overall grade in the crew

Usopp--mostly seems to hug people in fear? Idk he'd be clingy at times, but would give good quality hugs

Sanji--holy shit he has so much baggage with both men and women, I think giving either a hug would give him an aneurism. Also reeks of cigarettes so minus points there

Chopper--very enthusiastic hugger with bonus points for having multiple forms to chose from. Only negative is that sometimes while in brain point he latches onto people like a face hugger and I like being able to breathe

Robin--She's just learning how to show physical affection so it'd be a work in progress. *However* Wano proved that if there's a child who needs a hug she is the person to go to

Franky--I don't think we've ever seen him hug anyone which is strange. I feel like he'd be prone to bro hugs, but as he's metal it might not be comfy. Also we're not told how well insulated his stomach fridge is so it might be cold

Brook--Very enthusiastic with his hugs, would be very sharp and bony.

Jinbe--He's got a sense of propriety that I think might lead to him being more reserved with his affection, but they would be of excellent quality

I decided to leave the dead humans as blacked out silhouettes, because when I tried to render them, it didn't fit with the rest of the piece. (It also leaves any potential gore up to the imagination, so viewers of the painting can think the most horrifying thing they can come up with)

Long Emily design explanation/rant thing ignore it probably but pls dotn im desperate: I wanted to make her more round and soft cuzzz I love those typa designs I'm just a sucker for circle characters. Made her actually black and not fuckin gray cuz its a transformation to look more human and gentle(for me they go between two forms, their true ones that we see the first time we see them snd their human/softer ones if they ever interact with actual humans which... they usually dont.) Not a demon form tfff. In this version I wanted to put Emily in animal inspired features like... the sheep nose, ears, and hooves. Because she and Sera know that humans and about all beings love animals. Birds have sharp features mostly so they don't look as welcoming as they want to seem. I wanted Emily to look sheep likes and pretty much all the seraphim look more sheep like to make Lucifer stand out as the only one who was symbolized as a snake/goat(still don't know if I'll make him goat or make Lillith goat. I'll decide when I get there lmao). Justtt overalll wanted Emily to look more round, welcoming, and cute. I kept the freckles lighter than her skin color(even tho that's SUPER not accurate to what actually black people look like with freckles but whatevr) because it reminded me of fawns and.... sure Emily is a sheep but I still wanted to incorporate other cute animal traits with her cyz y not.
