first of all, thank yew anon!! 🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️ much love, i’m very happy that you’re enjoying my dr ratio content because tbh… it’s not going to stop HAHAH he is here to stay.

second of all, i’ve been here for almost three years so i hope i have some good tips to share 😔 they are below the cut !!

everything on this list is targeted at gaining traction with likes and reblogs rather than focusing on your writing!! pls keep that in mind ;o

1. blog layouts and post layouts.

generally speaking, if a reader is scrolling through the tags, the first impression they get of your fic is how neatly it is laid out. a more aesthetically pleasing layout is always going to capture someone’s attention, regardless of the story.

take a scroll through the tags and maybe find inspiration (don’t steal layouts!) as to how some writers have arranged theirs. normally it incorporates a cute banner/picture with a/n’s or warnings.

also, this may just be personal taste, but don’t post your fic in small text. small text fics are the ones i get turned off the most because i… don’t want my eyes to hurt 😔😔 simple as that 😔😔 even if the synopsis sounds great, i want to see your story in full, not in tiny!!

2. write broader and more cliché tropes at first

i just wanted to reiterate again, this post is not to help you improve your writing quality (bc mine is still ass lol). from when i was still starting out on tumblr and trying to get a following, i think i focused quite a bit on writing tropes that i know everyone will enjoy.

these generally are like the cliché ones, like hurt/comfort, sleeping on the couch, being clingy or whatever, just fluffy stories that you find everywhere.

for example, in 2021, i wrote jujutsu kaisen headcanons of you sleeping on the couch and like… that fic is still getting notes to this day (to my chagrin). so the more cliché, or fluffier, the stories you write, the better.

(MINORS LOOK AWAY, as an sfw writer, i wont sit here and act like people don’t enjoy nsfw though, so if you’re capable of doing so AND OF AGE, then why not try your hand 🤣🤣)

3. long fics and stories that take a lot of effort

despite how many short blurbs you may see in the tags on tumblr, a lot of people do enjoy long fics (me included!). people love their long fics with classic tropes interwoven throughout.

ofc, use the tags as they are the medium that you’ll be guaranteed interaction! i don’t think i need to tell anyone that anymore LUL

but these tips are the ones i have conjured off the top of my head. whether or not you choose to listen is completely up to you, but i wholeheartedly believe rule 1 is one to follow, no matter what. rule 2 is a great one to implement, and rule 3 is just bc i love reading long fics, as with a lot of other readers!

Favourite event/plot point in the books Foxes reaction to seths death and seth death, it set really god tone for rest of the story and was the only event that genuinely surprised me bc i did not expected anyone from hero team to drop dead

Least favourite part of canon (can include Extra content) The fact that both foxes and ravens are groups of abused individuals but one word ,, mafia" is enough to put blame for all bat things on riko only even though he was pawn to his caretaker the way she wrote jeans abuse list it feels excessively edgy for sake of begin edgy i find nothing deep or sad about this i can also write down random list of numbers and attach to it words like rape and broken bones

If you could sent Nora an ask and get answer, what would you ask about? i wouldn't ask about anything bc her giving me answer i'm not looking for would feel bad

If you could make an idea of your choice canon to aftg, what would it be? I'd have a riko make a joke about how foxes should be in prison by now considering they are dressed the part (orange) (and most of them broke the law) id also replace neils car lighter burns with something else bc they are annoying to draw

Feel free to share some random hot takes if you like Andrew "murdering" their abusive mother is creepy as fuck and her being abuser or him only teenager with not fully developed brain is not really making this any less creepy and i enjoy his character because of this I don't mind aaron being homophobic , i'm cool with those character being murderers abusers and bigots , it's fictional characters they had not hurt anyone in real life so i don't really care about their fictional flaws and enjoy interacting with their content all the same I don't like only one of the foxes and i don't think this fox should be part of this team i don't really care about story and whatever, it's my personal bias so discussing it deeper makes no sense unless you want to unpack my past and all people who lead me to feel that way rlly

i’ve been playing this game on my phone for the last 3ish weeks bc i’m tryna get $80 from getting to “grand sultan” level thru this app that gives me games to download and rewards me for playing them/hitting checkpoints and stuff idk it’s rly cool but that’s besides the point ! so i figured i would Bounce after the month is up bc like it’s just a gimmicky pay-to-win kind of game where if u don’t keep up daily u fall behind, BUT there’s also a Huge player base for the game (which makes it fun but also gives it that rly insanely competitive edge that makes it hard to miss days without feeling like ur behind). so one of the things i had to do was join a union/guild where i am partnered up with ppl like the guild leader and co-leader and elites and others members ya know? and we can do quests and stuff and it just gives u a good boost to everything which obviously helps u level faster ! so i was like “hmmmm maybe ill make one…” but then i noticed ppl talking in the all chat saying how they’re not new, this is their 3rd, 4th, 5th+ server that they’re hopping on bc they wanna start over again, etc etc so i was like “…. nah im not making my own union LOL” so i ended up joining this one that had free slots and rly didn’t like the guy leading it bc he was kinda rude… so i left, changed my name/avatar, and DM’d the leader of this guild i had my eye on in the first place but was full at the time! they now had 1 space free and i had to wait 24 hours to join bc i just left my last guild… so she said she’d save the spot and BAM, i got in! we talked in DMs abt how i left my last guild bc No One except the leader talked and when he did it was to Demand things from us like “Everyone better donate 200 diamonds or else.” and stuff!! lmao

SO. fast forward to now. it’s been about 3 weeks in the guild and MANNNNNN IVE MADE A FEW FRIENDS, THEYRE ALL SO NICEEEEE 🥺 me and a couple other guild members were up til Midnight last night just talking abt life and where we wanna travel and our jobs and education and Everything !! it was so wholesome and nice and so just idk. pure and innocent and Fun to just have casual conversations with ppl that were complete strangers 2 weeks ago, but who ive gotten closer to and now can have those nice long convos with !! and it was all just in the guild chat so anyone could read the next day lol but idc ! it was fun! plus my name on the game is selene which is Not my real name lol i just like the name a lot and it always makes me giggle when they say “lol, i know right selene??” and stuff and im like heh.. yea, das me 😎 idk the guild leader gave me the “life of the party” tag and said she loves my energy and it just feels so good bc i know i am just so cripplingly socially anxious irl and that’s why i can talk so easily online and love talking online so much more. like im still ME, but… not Fully being perceived to a point where i feel uncomfy or anything LOL . it’s been nice

i think imma keep playing after the month is up, i rly enjoy my guild and the ppl ive met thru it :’)

Ty for the tag! You have made the mistake of asking me, the post says how you got into it but here's the full long ass story bc I never get to yap about the things that occupy 99% of my brain space. Grab some popcorn, you'll need it 🍿

I think my actual first exposure to Zelda was seeing a cousin playing Oot lul.

As for actually playing, I don't know how young I was, probably around 8. We had a Wii, and I saw my sister play TP, I think it was the ending lol, so I wanted to play it. Aand, I did, and I was terrible bc ofc I was a kid, I used guides so much and would get nervous and yell for my sister at the smallest monster sighting xD. But it's an amazing game and I got really obsessed with it because I can't be normal about things, I love the story, the vibe, the characters... So I made some drawings of it (which I still have), would yap about it to any unfortunate soul that would listen, and for the next good years I would replay it to the point where I basically memorized most stuff.

Yeaaars later, my sister shows me a botw trailer, I was like oh cool 👍 because I didn't expect to ever lay my hands on a switch, but we actually got one around 2018 I think. Ofc first thing I played botw on it, even having played TP so much I didn't have much of an idea of what a loz game was supposed to be like, so I got in not knowing what to expect. And, you guessed it! I got so obsessed with it. The mechanics, the story, the giant world, it all just left me in absolute awe and did something to my brain lol (totk could never). I would use the guide so much because I have like 2iq for puzzles but I somehow still enjoyed it a lot.

I made my Tumblr acc in 2018 bc I wanted to see stuff from other fandoms and I don't even remember how but I guess eventually I stumbled into LU. I read the comic and all the stuff in the archive, this is where I started to learn a lot more about the loz lore and I was like damn this is so cool!!! Yes I got obsessed. I read some stuff about the timeline, story and the games bc I thought I could never play them but luckily I forgot a lot of it xD. Basically here I started getting rly into loz.

When they made Skyward Sword HD I told my sister we should buy it, I thought she had ignored me but she gifted it to me on my birthday, so that made it a bit special for me xd. This was a turning point, I got a better idea of what a traditional loz game was and even if there's some stuff about the game that I really don't like it was overall a really cool experience. Oh and the lore. And the implications. This was the first time I played a loz game without relying on guides (only when I got really stuck), so I was extra proud and it was fun when I wasn't fighting the motion controls xd. I was back to being a Zelda kid and yapping about it, and I decided to try and play all the loz games I could get.

So. I thought I was ready for Oot - the N64 version that is on the switch. It was so hard 😭. I felt bad bc I did need to use the guide more but still, a greaat game and the final boss left me shook bc y'all weren't lying the game is so good wtf. Random but it was a cathartic moment for me when I had to defeat it using a broken biggoron sword and a shit ton of deku nuts after hating on them the whole game for being useless 🤧.

Thennn clearly I had to play Majora's Mask. Girl, TP made me edgy so I could love this game. I do think it is a bit worse than Oot in some aspects but generally I felt it was a much more solid game and oh lord it's so atmospheric. The existencialist stuff was too much for my tiny brain but it's still cool.

I think (?) I got back into LU around halfway of my MM playthrough, I then reread the whole comic with more english and loz knowledge and understood things so much better now, and it's what is on my mind all the time now XD.

I never finished totk bc I didn't feel very motivated, making progress in the game felt a bit like a task 😬 (I do love you, Tulin). No words lol.

I'm now playing Minish Cap and!!! Love it, so much cute stuff that brings literal tears to my eyes lol. I was a bit scared bc it is my first 2D Zelda and I didn't want the Oot experience repeating itself but xD it's fairly easy and has some pretty cool stuff, it makes me feel childlike wonder idk.

So! Next on my list is alttp and the oracle games, though my friend said she could play FS with me so that may happen first 👍. I currently have no interest in playing eow or zelda I & II, I opened those last two for like five minutes and noped out, but maybe one day 😅.
