Annnd this is the semiofficial Reptilian Swag Wars and it’s entrees. If enough people agree to participate (through reply, reblog, an ask, whatever you can come up with) I’ll set up an official voting. A poll for each round would be set up on google forms, each round having a day to carry out, the first theoretically beginning on Oct 10th.
If you think someone should be a candidate and isn’t, I’m all ears! Though I can’t say there’s a high chance of a change.
I hope we can crown a monarch of reptilian characters!

PSA for splatoon fans
people who ship the squid sisters with each other are, unfortunately, a thing that exists and active within the fanbase especially with the release of splatoon 3.
shared for the purposes of blocking and filtering: the ship name/main tags for this ship are a.ohota and h.otaao (without the periods), from callie and marie's japanese names aori and hotaru. i've also seen s.quidcest being used as a tag, but im unsure how active it is anymore, those two are the main ones
block anyone you see using these tags, block the tags themselves, stay safe & stay fresh

therapy is also not about giving a good first impression or being honest. therapy is about charismatically brightly and cheerfully checking all the buzzword boxes so that your therapist likes you enough to tell a psychiatrist to continue prescribing the medication that keeps you from killing yourself the same way basically every woman in your matrilineal line has since time immemorial.

blinks tiredly. i decide "hm maybe i should try to expand my circle and step outside of it a little, lets go look at the main community tags" and im just greeted with a bunch of edgelords who think saying "fiction doesn't affect reality, don't like don't read" is peak activism and "fighting censorship". head in my hands. this is partially why i do not ever go into the community tags, my nervous system cannot handle blocking fifty weirdos every single day just so i can have a normal experience in the community tags hfdsjkl
#I HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE BLOCKED ALREADY. i am TRYING to curate my experience 😭😭😭#and i have so many tags blacklisted fjdsjkl like. so many. every single variation of tag to do with those chuckleheads#which helps avoid them a lot of the time tbh bc it'll flag posts that ppl rb if the original post was tagged w any of those#so i can avoid rbing posts that have chuckleheads as the op most of the time#i also usually double check OP's blog before i rb stuff now bc man this place is rife with these weirdos#ANYWAYS. yes i want to try to engage w the community but i do not think i can handle it if theres gonna be so many edgelords jkdslfl#the only way i follow new ppl now is when yall do promo hour and i sometimes see a new face pop up fdsjkl#every now and then i have energy to try to engage with new ppl but its so difficult when so many ppl are such insufferable edgelords !!!!#''im the nasty pr-sh-pper your parents warned you about 😎'' cool man you sound like the most insufferably obnoxious person ever. :/#''if you like CENSORSHIP-'' i am hitting block immediately bc u have a fundamental misunderstanding of what censorship actually is 👍#I'M TIREDDDD WHY ARE PEOPLE SO DUMB ABOUT THIS STUFF. ''fiction doesn't affect reality'' I GUESS PROPAGANDA DOESNT EXIST THEN ????#what a strange world they live in honestly. they dont understand how stories have served humans since the dawn of time. sighing loudly.#vent //#SORRY FOR THIS ONE IM JUST. ARGH. ppl talk abt encouraging community but i think maybe im not cut out for community#i want desperately to partake but i cannot handle it if it means dealing w all these bozos#it frustrates me to no end fdhsjkl and it upsets me so much and i wish i could deal w it better but. my nervous system is broken fdsjkl#i will try to expand my circle every now and then but i cannot do it often bc of this 😭 im not going to give up entirely though fdsjkl#(also this is partially why i dont tag my posts w community tags anymore bc i am just. so scared of these freaks getting their hands on it)#(the most i'll do is s.afeship or variations every now n then bc supposedly they're not in those tags fdsjkl)#delete later#dandyshucks

Hi, im a beginner horror enjoyer and im really disturbed by a lot of gore but i wanna understand the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies bc ive heard theyre hugely influential on the genre (rightly so too)
I figured with all this id ask the foremost texas chainsaw scholar i am aware of
Could you tell me the basics, if its gross (im really bad at tolerating gross out horror and gore played realistic), and any fun tidbits?
If not i thank you for reading and hope you have a good day ^-^
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was hugely influential on the genre and set the standard for low budget horror and inspired future filmmakers to rely more on psychological terror over gore & violence! It was also seemingly the birth of a lot of horror tropes, like big, masked killers and using power tools for weapons.
Texas Chainsaw's story is inspired by serial killers like Ed Gein and Elmer Wayne Henley. The movie’s director, Tobe Hooper, was inspired by the graphic coverage of violence by San Antonio news outlets and based elements of the plot on murderer Ed Gein, who was a notorious serial killer who made furniture out of human body parts and created a mask made of human skin. The movie’s underlying themes are mostly the horrors of isolation, and the dangers of unchecked capitalism. The movie is also a metaphor for the Nixon-era mayhem and the government’s deceit toward the public during the 1970s. Hooper intentionally misled audiences by claiming that the movie was based on a true story to attract a wider audience.
I honestly don't know how to give you the basics aside from a plot synopsis because I would, hand to God, be sitting here for about 12 hours minimum going into every weird little detail, like the intricacies of bubba's mental issues and being forced to take on a female role for his abusive older brothers, or all the absolutely insane shit that happened during filming. And that'd just be me talking about the FIRST film.
But if you want to ask me more questions or see more Texas chainsaw related stuff you can ask/look over at my blog @chainsawhouse. I just hate to gum up my main blog with this particular interest.
Also, my fun tidbit is that they've recently confirmed that there is a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the works, under the title 'Texas Chainsaw Legacy'! Very fun imo.

even though it has happened multiple times by now i'm still confused every time any of my posts get more than a couple hundred notes. what do you mean what i find desirable is not just hot to me but others enjoy it too.
i dont even know why i got it in my head that I'm uniquely terrible and that everything i enjoy must be weird to the average person in some way when my desires and the things i post about are. super mild lol
i like knowing my partners boundaries and operating within them. i like (love) seing someone follow my instructions, being listend to is just top 10/10. i like it sensual i like spending time touching and exploring. i like being given trust and power and especially responsibility. i like the intimacy of beautification - dressing up dolling up showing off. i like when gender expectations & unwritten scrips are ignored in favor of making decisions based on the individuals involved. my favourite way to bond with people is through humor & making me giggle is the fastes way to get me to like you. i have a complex relationship with my body, how others perceive it and what it can and can't do sexually. but who doesn't
none of these things are extraordinar or weird or shameful. it's all pretty common stuff. so why am i so insecure about having desires?

No Drama: Just Clearing Up Some Misconceptions
For the past few weeks, I've noticed that a few gif making blogs have been blocking me from seeing their posts... and I had my suspicions but didn't want to assume anything.
I'm crushed (no joke) to report my suspicions were correct.
A few weeks? months? ago, @jewish-mulder and I had an exchange which i thought was completely bantery and in good faith, see post here to determine for yourselves. The context was laughing over screenshots from DD's old skit with Gary Shandling. Anna/jewish-mulder read it through a bisexual lens-- which is a-okay to me! (the exchange is still in my archives here, for reference.) I saw it through DD and Gary's original intent-- Gary accidentally interpreting DD's actions as sexual interest rather than DD being a Weird Man TM; which is really funny to me. Regardless, either way is hilarious.
Soon after our exchange, I returned to the post to see if my last comment was responded to... and found the comments muted. Immediately after that, I noticed I could no longer reblog her gifs. Which... hurt; because, frankly, I was one of the mutuals that foamed over her new creations and supported (still do) her when she was debating putting watermarks on her gifs (because theft is revolting; and she has every right to protect her property.)
I had a prior incident that I thought was Tumblr weirdness: after joining tumblr, @jewish-mulder and @baronessblixen were my inspirations; and I loved (love) their creations. The first time I got blocked, I chocked it up to Tumblr weirdness (the first wave of the porn bots wrecked havoc); and, after contacting jewish-mulder through anon/Ao3, etc., she was just fine reinstating me. I had so much fun with her as a mutual. And it's okay if I'm not her cup of tea-- no one is everyone's! :DDD If she had needed to block me, that was okay in my book. So, when she did, I thought it was either Tumblr shenanigans or personal taste. If she wanted to refollow, she'd see my work and hop on later. In essence: I moved on.
BUT the timing always made me wonder worriedly... and my worst suspicions were confirmed when I noticed other gif blogs started blocking me.
So... I activated Anon Mode and found this post about me (screenshots below):
Tumblr media
What's even more... crushing? is that I checked her replies and... yeah, it turns out I WAS blocked intentionally the first time.
Tumblr media
I don't know why the first time, either, so I can't lay out proof. Didn't even have a suspicion on my part then, honestly.
(Gonna be honest: my "uwu" was something I use exclusively for this fandom because I felt accepted and included, sharing a space with fellow fans of a show that pulled me out of a COVID depression. I guesssssssssss I should dial back on that.)
Here's my response:
Anna, why didn't you just ask me? Why did you block me, never communicate, and secretly tell others to block me as well? I've never and will never do anything to hurt or marginalize anyone. Why did you not give me the curtesy to defend myself?
I am not a bigot. I condone hate of any kind; and I wish everyone to live their lives in their happiest way possible.
I want to have fun on my blog, laugh at my own things, and appreciate mine/your/everyone's humor. Your sexuality has nothing to do with my estimation of you as a person; and I'm both sorry it came across that way and hurt that you'd assume so about me.
Truly, I do hope this is all a misconception. I don't bear any ill will, I'm sorry if there was hurt because it was unintentional; and I don't want to pit you and yours against me. Keep making awesome things; and if our journeys are separate, then I wish you a good one, regardless.
Thank you to anyone who read this. Please don't cause her problems, etc.-- I don't think you will XDDD just had to put it out there-- and feel free to keep on keepin' on with Anna. Mutually enjoy each other to your hearts' content! I welcome everyone and don't want to draw lines, because your fandom or interpretation experiences are your own.
But I can't tolerate misunderstandings or... lies? To this day, her work is an inspiration to me; and I'll still read and enjoy her fics that drew me to Tumblr in the first place. And it really, really hurts to think I'd never have known about this if I hadn't followed my gut.
If you think there's something I'm missing or have missed out on, feel free to tell me-- comment, tag, anon, or dm. I'm always open.

"is it a bad time for advice?" "as a matter of fact, it is. it'd be nice if you'd leave me to my thoughts. and apologize for disturbing me."
