like when i get into an ao3 tag i got a full blown system like first i do my favorite character depending on the size of the archive ill either filter it to just angst or the specfic type then read thru back to front once being selective then twice with lower standards and then a third time with desperation. then once ive done that i take off the angst tag and just leave all my exclude this filters on and just do the above with their entire archive. after that i do the same with the relationship i have identified as my favorite

i wasnt necessarily good at knitting like i was really baysic at it tbh i just taught myself the very baysic knit stitch and i think how to do the reverse purl one maybe im still unsure if i actually did it.... funfact i taught myself while i was binge watching game of thrones (when it was still cool) so i missed the entirety of the first season cuz i was focused on my knitting but by the time i got to s2 i could knit reliably with out looking so i actually started watching the show.

Mad Men: Bob Benson, Pete Campbell

This is probably my forever yuletide fandom! The show’s been over for a while now, but I still have an enormous soft spot for the love story of Bob and Pete, and would read any number of variations on it. I don’t mind if you ignore certain parts of canon (s7) or go canon divergent, you can also follow canon if want (Bob shows up in Wichita??) GO WILD. Shipping Bob/Pete began as a joke for me, but I do ship it for real. I like that Bob is all *_________* about Pete and Pete is simultaneously disgusted and intrigued. He might not be gay, but he’s definitely into someone who’s into him. Also, if you just want to write about Bob I’d be really interested in his past and what the whole “manservant” deal was. We pretty much know nothing about him and I’d be interested in some backstory, but I’m not exactly looking for Bob/OMC PWP. In case it seemed that way! btw, here is a supercut of all Bob/Pete scenes (pw: kneetouching). Enjoy! Prompts: Fake dating: The CEO of a big company is secretly gay and Pete thinks pretending to be gay will form a bond of solidarity that will give him an edge, but the CEO mistakes this for interest and Pete scrambles to come up with an excuse to get out of doing anything gay and he comes up with, “I have a lover! You may have met him…” They go to a gay bar lolz and awkwardness ensue. Pete molds Bob into the Perfect Ad Man and falls for him in the process. Basically “My Fair Lady” with a hillbilly and sodomy. Groundhog day fic: Pete has to go through the same day again and again, tries to get help from Ken, Peggy, etc, and then comes to the realization that only Bob believes him. Bob is a conman who starts out trying to seduce Pete as part of a long con, but ends up falling in love. What if Bob is a spy who mistakes Pete for his contact because Pete compliments his tie? what kind of spy and mistaken identity shenanigans could ensue? What if Bob and Pete + the Purge??? (Please see my previous letters for why I am strangely compelled by adding the Purge to assorted canons.) I feel like Bob would do well. He’s got secrets. Maybe one of those secrets is a facility with weaponry. Also, sodomy wasn’t legal in New York until the 1980s. What if someone in the office awkwardly asks Bob what he’s going to do during the Purge and Pete is appalled, because how uncouth! Everyone knows you don’t ask people what they’re going to do during the Purge! And then Bob makes some veiled comment about how he always spends his Purges banging dudes, and Pete is horribly Intrigued because sex stuff is never a Purge thing he’d thought of. I love California Pete and the stupid little sweater he has over his shoulders and just his whole vibe in general. I would love to see Bob meet California Pete and struggle to figure out the right tack to take with this version of him. Would Pete going in for a hug blow Bob’s entire mind??? The more ridiculous you can go with this the better! I love sex pollen! Maybe Pete tries to sell a perfume that turns out to have sexy properties and Bob tries to help and hilarity, porn and sexy shame ensue. Or you could take this in another direction! Maybe it happens after Bob humiliates Pete with the Chevy execs. I love the desperation of having to go to your enemy for mercy. This would be awesome with either one of them being the sex pollenee.

Don’t Worry Darling RPF: Olivia Wilde, Florence Pugh

This is the kind of low stakes celebrity drama I love. Beautiful people at fancy film festivals using their stylists to vague about each other! If you're not familiar with this, here is a good rundown. I love that Olivia really goes all in on how of COURSE Florence is the best!1! There's no drama here! while Florence barely holds back her dislike. I'd love to see that antagonistic dynamic explored and maybe have it translated into hatesex, if you are so inclined! While I'm flexible about the reason for their antagonism (perceived or real unprofessionalism, perceive or real jealousy) I don't want a lot of focus on how Olivia's current or past SOs feel about it.

Some possible fic ideas, if you want them:

• They mostly avoided doing any kind of promo together, but what if DWD gets a sequel and they have to work together again? Maybe this time the movie goes full canon Alice/Bunny. Or maybe that MCU movie Olivia is directing is about Yelena!

• An argument leaves them left behind on set when the crew leaves in disgust. A low stakes stranded scenario that nevertheless leads to huddling for warmth and talking/fucking/sorting out their problems.

• AU where having fired Shia, Olivia is forced to take the role herself, leading to her directing a sex scene with Florence that gets out of hand

• I'm also here for angry sex/hatesex at the Venice Film Festival or on set or backstage at an awards show.

Star Wars RPF: Any (Oscar Isaac, Pedro Pascal, Domhnall Gleeson) You definitely don't have to include all three of them in the fic. I love the way Oscar plays off both of them separately and would be happy with fic exploring his friendship with either of them! If you do go for shipfic, I would prefer to handwave past or current SOs altogether. Oscar Isaac + Domhnall Gleeson I love them together and I love them separately. They're endlessly enjoyable to watch together both in-character and in interviews and I found the Ex Machina press tour delightful. I love the dynamic we see in interviews— needling each other, escalating to make the other laugh, relentless banter. It's great. In terms of fic, I'm happy with Ex Machina era fic or something set during the multiple Star Wars or current day, future fic— whatever works for you! I'll also be happy to get something shippy or genfic about them getting stoned and deep discussing the ethics of robotfucking or philosophizing about method acting and character bleed. I love them and I'll be happy to get anything with these two. Some prompts: • 5+1 fic. Maybe something like '5 projects they didn't star in and one they did.' Or the opposite! • I'd really love for them to make another movie together so feel free to go full wish fulfillment here. I'm down for anything— more Star Wars? Sounds good to me! A romcom? Amazing! I had their current DILF selves in mind for most of my prompts but if you want to explore the beginnings of their relationship or any part of its development over the years I would definitely love that! Peacemaker: Adrian Chase, Christopher Smith

I watched the show earlier this year and instantly fell in love with it. I love everything about it, from the credits to the team-as-family vibes, to every single one of the characters. I'm only requesting Peacemaker and Vigilante this time, but feel free to bring in the other characters as well! Especially Eagly. :DDDD I love the lighthearted, fun tone of the show and would love something along those lines. BFF ships are some of my favorites and far and away, Peacemaker and Vigilante are my favorite BFF ship, even if Peacemaker doesn't acknowledge that they're BFFs. One of my favorite canon moments for them- and I recognize this is a little fucked up- is the moment when Peacemaker can't shoot the butterfly children and Vigilante steps up and does it for him. In that moment, it's so clear how willing Vigilante is to do anything for him, and it's just as clear that Chris needs him, even if he has difficulty saying so. Some prompts: • This canon lends itself really well to bonkers casefic/mission fic as well as tropey stuff. Maybe they have to save the world by going undercover at a sex club! Or at a couples' cruise! I love fake dating/pretending to be married and I think it'd be hilarious with these two, especially if you include the team's reactions. • For more tropey stuff, they touch an alien artifact and get— sex pollened! bodyswapped! soulbonded! • "Well, how else am I gonna experience motherhood?" He's right and he should say it! I love Vigilante, feel free to knock him up. House of the Dragon: Rhaenyra Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen

After GoT and its ending, I nearly didn't give this a shot. But then I did. Goddamn it, HBO, you got me.

I love the characters, I love the drama, and I love my shiny new incest ship. Daemon/Rhaenyra grabbed me from the moment he hung that Valyrian steel necklace on her neck and even if that moment and its small piece of light UST hadn't been enough, the time he snuck her out for a wild night on the town and they ended up nearly banging in a brothel while he whispered to her about a woman's pleasure being just as important as a man's would've cinched it. I love the energy they have from the beginning that they're the only ones who really understand each other, that they're always in on things together, and they're kind of pulling one over on everyone else. I would love really anything with them having a lot of sexual tension and teasing and build-up until it explodes. *___* If you'd like a prompt, here are a few! - I would fucking love an epistolary fic when he's in Pentos and she's in Driftmark and they're both trying to pretend everything is fine and they're not pining for one another a ridiculous amount but also not above trying to make each other jealous by talking about how great their spouses are. - I don't know exactly how you'd make a whole fic out of it, but I loved the moment when Daemon and Rhaenyra were dancing at her rehearsal dinner- their push/pull dynamic on full display, Daemon simultaneously reluctant and intimidated, Rhaenyra openly challenging him, a thin veil of lucky circumstances letting them steal a few secret seconds. More like that, please! - Actually, on that subject of that scene, the crowd closed in so close that we never saw if they kissed or not. Show me which you headcanon and why! - So about that brothel scene. So enticing. So hot. And so abruptly cut off. >:( I really thought when I watched it that Daemon was going to go down on Rhaenyra in the middle of that brothel- possibly with her encouraging him by pushing him to his knees. The show may have denied me, but I'd love to get fic like this! - Rhaenyra pegging Daemon, please? :D? That's it. That's the prompt. - As mentioned above, I don't like noncon, but I love characters who are in this together PRETENDING it's noncon for a hostile audience. Feel free to shove Daemon and Rhaenyra into any situation where Some Bad Guys Make Them Do It- except that, unknown to those bad guys, they're not making them do anything they don't want to do. - I ship Daemon/Rhaenyra primarily, but I am not at all opposed to dipping into their relationships with others and blurring them together. Cloak and Dagger: Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson I’ll forever be sad this show only got 2 seasons. :( Ty and Tandy are perfect and I love everything about them. I just cannot get enough of the ways they complement and complete each other. I love how they are absolutely 100% ride or die for each other. I love how they spend so much of the first season unable to even touch without blowing shit up but once they get a handle on it, they’re holding hands and exchanging casual touches basically any chance they get. I loved them literally fighting each others personal demons in the finale and the numerous ways they’ll express their love for each other without actually saying the words. The fact that they were finally going to get together and kiss in a prospective season 3 and we missed out on that when they got cancelled that will haunt me. I want to know what they’re up to after the season finale, but I do really love the two seasons we got. Waffles forever! *__* Prompts: • When we last see them, Ty and Tandy are on the bus, hitting the road. What’s their next move? • They powerswapped at least once in the comics. What does that look like for Ty and Tandy in the show? Darkforce daggers? What does Ty’s cloak do now? • Casefic/missionfic! • I really like the worldbuilding they did with the Divine Pairing and the Loa. I guess u cld say its semi aa au but theyre in college so not rlly. Apollo is majoring in criminology n fashion n klavier is his model its so good please read it. This au is semi similar but it focuses in on the law aspect more so if ur looking for non aa ones id rec the first one more but theyre both Sooooo good. Me realizing all of these might be college aus sorry but taking hints is also one of my forever faves. Apollo is trying to learn german for an extra credit n klav offers to teach him. Hello, anon! Sad to say I haven't been reading up much during my break, but I do still have some recs that I think were amazing reads from a few months ago! Though I'll be honest, even then I wasn't reading a lot, but-

Here are my top 5!

This is technically an ongoing series but I loved this to bits, and I will insert this as my collective top 1. Am I biased? Yes, yes I am, but that's besides the point. Chuuya, born in the muggle world, finds out he is a wizard and attends Hogwarts, where he befriends Dazai, the adopted son of notorious Mori Ougai. I loved the incorporation of Harry Potter and Bungou Stray Dogs into this, being an old fan of the former and a current fan of the latter, and it's just genius writing. Good characterization, and good plot too. It's not just a rewrite of the HP series with a change of characters, the plot was tweaked too, to better fit BSD's vibe. Definitely my top 1 on this list.

Honestly, anything by setosdarkness in AO3 is a blessing. This one, I think, I've read maybe 5 times already, because I get so much serotonin from this! It's funny, it's crack, it's on-point in a way, and it's the fix-it I need what with ADA, Port Mafia and the Guild all being in one party, playing charades. Easily my top 2, this is my comfort fic of sorts. I read it again recently, after coming back here, you should too if you're into crack/no angst fics!

THIS!! This fic is one of my firsts in the BSD fandom, and I loved it so, so much, I even have the linked Spotify playlist saved in my library. THIS is what you read if you want slow burn and tension and mafia involvement and ANGST but also some good soukoku shit. I swear, their characterizations is on point with this. Basically, Chuuya gets married off to Dazai and their marriage signifies peace between their groups. Kouyou leads Chuuya's, and Mori leads Dazai's and THE PLOT TWISTS and SLOW BURN is so worth it.

My favorite shin soukoku fic, for one reason and one reason only: CAT RASHOMON!!! Seriously though- neighbors au is everything. How I long for domestic shin soukoku. This is no angst/lowkey crack but overall just very light-hearted. I love the way other characters are involved in this too! If I remember this correctly, soukoku also pop up as a side couple, but the focus is mainly on cat dad Aku and adopted cat dad Atsu.

Can't finish off a rec list without some RanPoe so here! It's basically just them being geniuses yet completely oblivious to one another's feelings. I love Louisa's involvement with this, and this fic is the reason I stan platonic Poe/Louisa when I initially haven't considered it since they don't interact much in canon. Oh, and it's a college au, all fun and games and maybe some mental breakdowns over finals (if I remember correctly). Just a light, fluffy fic with a healthy sprinkling of humor. I'll probably read this again for the feelgood vibes it gives me.

Now for some honorable mentions!

All you need to know is FukuMori watch their son Dazai grow up with Chuuya- whose dads are VerRim. Very domestic, highly recommend this.

No, it's not the popular one from Haikyuu lol BUT! Paul and Arthur adopting Chuuya instead of... you know, whatever happened in canon?? The perfect fix-it, especially after reading Stormbringer.

Again with the family dynamic of zskk/dazai and verrim/chuuya except this one's more focused on soukoku. It's ABO, but it's also a royalty au with an amazing plot, and overall development with twists on canon events. If you don't mind omegaverse then this I urge you to read this!

On the topic of long fics, here's an iconic one for skk. Think: singers! soukoku but better. If I remember this right, this was inspired by the song "still still still" sung by soukoku's voice actors??? Which was a catchy song btw, check it out. And it gives us fake dating, turned real dating, with lots of bad decisions and Dazai taking up acting. A good read if you want a longer fic!

Much shorter soukoku, with the classic coffee shop x flower shop worker au. I love the flower language from this fic, and the light vibes. I also love the way other characters were incorporated into this?? And I like soukoku being idiots in love.

For fics with less than 4k words: here's one where atsu and rashomon interact, it's all soft sskk; here's where aku spoils atsu, in the soft way okay? What is the synopsis of the Lucifer AU fic btw?

First off, Happy Valentine's Day, I hope you can spend it with people you love as well. You made my day ^^

I was going to link the snippet I posted ages ago but Tumblr is being Tumblr and it's lost to the void so I'll just post it again but it takes place a little after the 100th episode. Lena ends up going to L.A. to ask Lucifer for a favor, having heard about him through a business contact. She asks him to 'kill her' or rather, help her fake her death and make it look legitimate knowing if she tried to do it on her own, Kara would likely realize what she was trying to do. The one condition for the favor (that Chloe has insisted on since she'll be against Lucifer helping Lena to begin with since she's very cagey on the details of why she wants to fake her death is for her to get therapy. Basically it will be Lena getting a buttload of therapy and reconnecting with Kara once she's in a better place. But when Kara finds out Lena faked her death she's going to be understandably very upset. They're going to need couple's counseling without actually officially dating.

Lena thought that the worst thing in the world for hangovers was just how unyielding bright the L.A. sun could be and how it always seemed to find a way into the room, even when Lena had taken measures to prevent such a thing from happening. But when Lena awoke in a tangle of blankets with her head throbbing like an infected tooth, she knew she had found something far worse: the repeated bleat of a car horn right outside her window. Cursing under her breath, she burrowed deeper under her blankets, trying to escape the sound but somehow found the muffled bleating even more annoying and dragged herself to the window, one eye open just a crack, not at all surprised to see Lucifer sitting in his idling corvette. “I thought this the best way to wake you, seeing as you were so adamant that no one should enter your bedroom,” he called up to her. “But if you prefer I could always give Maze a call, she’d jump at the chance to kick your door down.” Lena would have liked nothing more than to flip him the bird and shut the window again and found the prospect so tempting that she had raised her middle finger halfway up before she changed her mind and stuck out all five fingers. “Give me a minute,” she called down and felt a deep stab of pain in her temples.

When Lena didn’t immediately hop into the idling car, Lucifer laid on his horn once more which made Lena quickly raise her hands in reluctant surrender, wincing. “I thought you said that angels couldn’t kill humans,” she said, sliding into the passenger seat, fumbling with her seatbelt clumsily.

"We can’t, but throw up in my car and all bets are off.” He surveyed her with a somewhat pitying look before cranking the wheel and joining the flow of traffic. “I’d offer you some pills but I doubt any of them are aspirin although you’re welcome to check,” he said and tossed a small pill caddy into her lap. “Perhaps a little hair of the dog?” He reached into his jacket and Lena saw a flash of silver that she knew had to be his flask before he withdrew his hand. “On second thought, the good doctor might not like it if you come in with alcohol on your breath… And there's no point in dragging your feet on this. The Detective made it abundantly clear that you attending therapy would be the price for me assisting in your little act of subterfuge.”

"Yes, I remember," Lena said sourly. "When I asked the devil for a favor I was under the assumption that the eventual repayment would come much later and be far less annoying.”

"As did I,” Lucifer said, making a hard right that sent a bolt of pain through Lena’s temple. “Usually when I call in favors they’re a lot more fun for me. I’m the devil, not some wish-granting fairy-godmother.” He appeared to shudder at the thought and focused his attention back on the road. “I can assure you that Linda is the best of the best. She’s been my therapist for years now…”

“So,” Lena said slowly, rattling the pill caddy before tossing it back into his lap. “This is you after years of therapy?” “Yes, yes,” Lucifer said, sounding as if he were only half paying attention. “Far be it from me to start throwing around the term ‘miracle worker’,” he said, taking his hands momentarily off the wheel to make air quotes. “But whatever issues you might have, she’ll undoubtedly get to the bottom of them.” “That sounds great,” Lena grumbled, resting her head against the dash, praying that Lucifer wouldn’t drive any large potholes.

"I've brought you another one, Doctor," Lucifer said, throwing open the office door without so much as a hello, and taking Lena by the shoulders, giving her a little nudge inside. "Plenty of neuroses and undiscovered trauma for you to delve into."

"Another one? How many times have you done this?" Lena hissed, eyes widening. “Oh, you are looking at the most prolific therapist among Celestials,,” Lucifer said with something resembling sincere reverence in his voice. “I’m really shocked she hasn’t leaned into that angle a bit more… It would do wonders for business.”

"I had a very thriving practice before I met you, Lucifer,” the woman said.

"Of course you did. Far be it from me to downplay any of your remarkable achievements.” He raised his hands out in front of him as if he were surrendering and sat down on the couch, smiling.

"Lucifer, whoever this is, it will have to wait, I have another appointment in five minutes, you can't just barge in and—” She stared at Lena for a moment before returning her attention back to Lucifer. “Is she a—” “A mess?” Lucifer offered., earning a hard swat on the arm from Lena that sent a bolt of pain through her head. “I mean, is she an angel or a demon? Not that it matters,” she added quickly, flashing Lena a very winning smile before turning back to Lucifer. “She’s a demon, right?” “Human,” Lena grumbled, pressing her palm against the side of her head, the pressure making the throbbing a bit more tolerable. “But you’re not the first one to accuse me of being a demon.” “Yes, there was a charming headline in one of the tabloids here a few months back that purported you were hiding a pair of horns under all that hair.”

“I feel like I’ve missed something important,” Linda said, holding out a hand. “Who are you exactly?”

“Oh, that’s right,” Lucifer said, pointing at the image inducer around Lena’s neck. “She might not look it but you are looking at the recently deceased Lena Luthor. You're welcome by the way," he said as an aside, peering sideways at Lena. "Looking a lot more blonde but currently not much more fun."

k so i had an idea for a chameron ao3 series of all the fics being conan gray songs but i got lazy and only wrote 1.5 stories for it so because i’m not acc gonna do it imma share the ideas i had cuz someone might find them useful so (btw these will be copied directly from notes the first time i wrote them, they can also be used for other ships if u want but i made them for chameron):

grow: a year after hs cam and charlie run into eachother in vermont and then u see a bunch of flashbacks of old nights and things at welton. they exchange numbers at the end or smth. (i did this one)

idle town: charlie can’t sleep at his new school. he reminisces and whatever. a little more focused on cam. he looks over at the other side of the room but cam isn’t there anymore. instead it’s his new roommate who he doesn’t even know the last name of. end it somehow.

generation why: pre-canon cam and charlie just talking on the roof. banter. romantics ensue on cams behalf. charlie doesn’t feel the same way. that’s why charlie treats him the way he does.

crush culture: charlie pining after cam. a bunch of little things cam does to push charlie over the edge. charlie talks to neil and neil says cam likes him too. he doesn’t. charlie kisses cam one night while studying and cam rejects him and they argue. this is the night of neils death. that’s why cam didn’t find out through charlie and everything hurt a little bit more than it should’ve.

greek god: cameron’s being made fun of all the time by charlie and he knows charlie likes him and idk tbh this one got deleted and idk what i had written

lookalike: pre-neils death cam and charlie dated in their time at welton then broke up which caused tension going into senior year. the dead poets knew. when the dps started charlie got a gf and wouldn’t stop talking about her. her name was elaine. he brought her to a meeting and she looks just like cam. damn.

the other side: falling out of love. the process.

the king: cameron accidentally reads a poem charlie had written for/about him. he stresses all day and acts weird. everyone else is like ??? at night cam decides f it and confronts him. it ends cute

comfort crowd: night time. tomorrow morning charlie was meant to leave welton so all his stuff was packed up. hed already punched cam so it was tense. to say the least. cam randomly gets up out of bed and charlie is like wtf?? cam fuddles around then he’s like “u coming” they go to the cave and have a meaningful talk and if they end up cuddling then that’s their business

wish you were sober: charlie and cameron get drunk in their dorm. cam can’t hold his alcohol well so he gets wayy more drunk. he tells charlie some personal shit. some of which includes the fact that he used to have feelings for charlie. charlie has feelings for cam. he’s sad and sends cam to bed.

maniac: short one. they’re at the same bar a few years later. not with eachother but cam knows charlie’s there. charlie is talking shit abt cam and calling him weird and blah blah. but just that night, charlie had called cam desperate after years. cam thinks abt everything. he gets up and leaves but doesn’t leave w/o saying a big ol’ f u to charlie. this ones so mean to charlie. sucks. anyways.

online love): they’re doing long distance because charlie got expelled. they break up over the phone. aw. make it depressing. maybe by them being interrupted before rly saying goodbye and shii.

checkmate: they’re playing chess idk i couldn’t think of anything better. just cute and fluffy cuz i say so.

the cut that always bleeds: cameron is in a problematic relationship w a girl he met at uni. they just went through one of their fight episodes. cam went back to his room but he needed company. he decides to go to charlie’s dorm for comfort. but they haven’t spoke since that evening years ago. charlie says “i thought i’d never see you again” yadda yadda cam tells charlie everything and they just hold eachother. the gf is like “plz take me back” so cam does and he never sees charlie ever again. cry abt it.

fight or flight: charlie has a gf but little does he know she’s cheating on him. he ends up catching her with her side piece in their apartment. it’s cameron. there’s a whole wtf moment and the gf is like “u two know eachother???”. cams like “i swear i didn’t know” the girl leaves but cam stays. they argue or whatever or just talk not sure yet. then they kiss and charlie says something dumb and it ends. also cameron is hot as shit in this btw.

affluenza: probs short. when charlie is getting ready to leave cam is like “so money can’t buy happiness” and charlie’s like tf did u say to me. they talk abt where charlie’s going and whatnot and money. “i can’t do the things you do charlie, don’t you get anything” charlie leaves feeling a bit more guilty.

(can we be friends?): cam and charlie’s life growing up together. cute moments of them falling for the other. “now charlie knows why he and cameron could never be friends.”

heather: charlie and knox are together. cameron likes charlie. one night charlie is drunk and it’s just cam and him in the dorm. charlie ends up kissing cameron as a joke and cameron doesn’t know. there’s a fic like this. after the kiss it’s never the same. knox doesn’t know what happened. cameron has to watch them be all buddy buddy and shit- even if they’re not out to the rest of the group, cam knows. cameron knows not to interfere with their relationship no matter how much he wants to. he chooses to sit and watch and keep all his feelings inside.

little league: charlie stops by a cafe one night because he has nothing else to do. it turns out it’s open mic night. someone gets up to read. that someone is cameron. cameron performs a poem called little league. charlie remembers things. he leaves before the poem is over. /OR/ Cameron is an adult, he's a doctor or smth bouj, he has a family, a house, the embodiment of the american middle aged straight white man dream life. But sometimes, in secret, he takes Welton's Yearbook out of the shelf, and he traces Charlie face, and he remembers.

the story: cameron and charlie are late-night swimming in the lake together. they’re fantasizing abt whatever and charlie says “we should run away” they continue the convo like they did the others. a few days later charlie brings it up again, seriously this time. “what? dalton are you on something?” no. they get into an argument and shit. about a week later cameron wakes up to charlie sneaking out, but this isn’t sneaking out like dps meeting sneaking out, he’s running away. cam: “charlie? what are you doing up?” charlie: “this is your last chance. you coming?” cam: *thinks* no.

fake: ratting on keating and more angsty mess

overdrive: first kiss moment. they’re meant to be studying but they got distracted and are just talking instead. charlie’s like “cam have u ever kissed sum1” cam: “i think u know the answer to that dalton” charlie: “do you want to” cam: “ha! that’s a laugh! who can i find within a mile of here that i could kiss” charlie: me. whole carpe diem whatever- “charlie are you kidding do you know what would happen if someone found out!?” “so i won’t let them” but they kiss and it’s cute

astronomy: au: cam never ratted out keating but neil still died but just that whole thing never happened. ok. ever since neil died both cam and char were different. their relationship was tense. before it had been perf and everyone was envious of them but after neil everything changed. cameron was more agressive and easily irritable. charlie was more reserved and quiet. they tried to fix it but they decided it would be best to split. they still saw eachother in hallways and stuff, but were no longer roommates. after a couple months, they were strangers.

people watching: a view on the cameron/charlie relationship from other people. they’re opposites obv. when ppl were first informed they were taken aback to say the least. but when they see how they are together they get it yk? yeah u do.

I also have Daryll Oakland 17 (fc is Jace Norman) and big gay. He's weedled his way into my fics already. Daryll is the strong center force of the team, keeps everyone together and focused. He's EJ's right hand man and boyfriend! I love Daryll sm. Daryll is unapologetically my favorite of all my water polo players so far.

Next we have Jared Kleinman, the goalie of the team. Jared is 17 and polysexual. He moved to Utah when he was 15 and left behind his boyfriend and girlfriend in New York because his mom had a office transfer. Jared doesnt have a FC yet but I will let u know when I figure that out lol. Also Jared only has nine toes because I just think thats nifty of him.

Catradora fic rec list

I mentioned making one of these awhile ago and I’m finally sitting down and compiling some of my all-time favorite fics. I’ve read a lot (like, a LOT), but I feel like a few of those really deserve an extra shout out.

I’ll separate them between multi-chap and one shots, but other than that they won’t be in any particular order. I’ll also try my best to tag the authors here on tumblr if I can find them, but if not, just lemme know if you see your fic and I can edit this later.

I’ll also be including ratings/word count/trigger warnings/etc

(I’ll mostly be including common tw’s so please make sure you also read the tags for anything that may affect you personally! Also, if I miss any, please keep in mind that it’s been awhile since I’ve read some of these so I may not remember all of them!)

Multi-chap fics:

I feel like this is definitely one of the top must-reads for all Catradora fanfics. I know I’ve seen this on a couple different lists but I’m including it on mine as well because it really is just that good.

The chapters are lengthy (but in a good way!) and the story really takes its time to flesh itself out. The character development of the characters as individuals is beautifully done and wonderfully realistic. The pacing of the development of Catra and Adora’s relationship is also sweetly slow, a steady slowburn that invokes that deep-rooted yearning feeling mirrored by the characters themselves.

It’s a really clever premise that takes place in the modern world but implements the canon universe in the form of the book that Adora’s writing that ties back to her and Catra’s shared childhood. The way that aspects of the show were revamped into this fic are so creative and I just....ugh. LOVE.

This fic also has a oneshot compilation that takes place after the events of the final chapter which is currently ongoing and I HIGHLY suggest checking that out as well once you’ve finished this.

2. The Devil Is In (The Details) by SeasInkarnadine (O) [M] ~58,000 words

This is a really great fic where Adora is an undercover cop who sidles her way into one of the largest gang syndicates to bust whoever killed Hordak, a big gang leader and drug trafficker, whose death was originally ruled as an accidental overdose. Her and Catra (one of the gang members) both know foul play was involved and work together to figure out the truth.

The dynamics between these two is so casual and hilarious but still has those gut-wrenching moments that really ground you and realize that their relationship is dysfunctional on a few levels. The exploration of Adora’s conflicting feelings towards Catra hurt in such a good way as she realizes that she does genuinely care for Catra, but also is aware that what she’s doing will eventually screw her over and land her in jail. It’s the best kind of underlying angst and I highly recommend it.

Another really great selling point that I particularly love is that Adora is deaf in this AU and the author really shows this in such a realistic and natural way that shows she really knows what she’s talking about. It makes the dynamic between the two even more interesting considering that Catra also knows sign language which give the two a lot of moments of mutual understanding that doesn’t extend to the other characters. It’s something that the two of them have that’s sort of just for them to be on that level of understanding and it’s so great.

Also, Morgan is just a great writer in general and I highly suggest checking out more of her stuff (her art too!). She’s one of the writers I’ve looked up to since my beginning days in the fandom and it’s still amazing seeing all the great stuff she puts out.

3. Skinny Love by Maychup (O) [M] ~100,000 words

Another staple of big fics in the catradora fandom but for good reason. This fic is a wonderful exploration of events taking place after S1 illustrating Catra & Adora’s relationship in a different path that the rest of the show takes. It focuses heavily on their past experiences with each other and how that affects their current situation being on opposite sides of the war. 

This fic is older, published just after S1, so canon divergence is an important aspect of its build. But the way the story is written is so beautiful and grounded that it’s still interesting even now knowing what really happens in the show. 

Their dynamic is kind of back-and-forth, with Catra figuring out what Adora means to her and vice versa and where the two of them want to go from that point. It has so many sweet moments and steamy ones as well (btw, there’s a lot of smut) and the exploration into each of the character’s pysches is so compelling and intriguing.

4. Faded With Feelings by yesimgay (F) [T] ~24,000 words

TW: recreational drug use

This was such a cute, short multi-chap fic. It’s a bit older but I think it’s still one of my top faves. 

A modern au, Catra & Adora are roommates post-college and trying to make their way in the adulting world. Catra has ADHD and smokes weed to help with that. One day Adora accidentally eats a couple of her edibles and cute shenanigans ensue. And that’s just the first two chapters.

The rest of the fic goes on to the girls figuring out their feelings for each other, especially Adora who, in this case, isn’t really sure of her sexuality. All-in-all, a really cute fic that’s a nice break from all the angst that typically saturates the fandom.

5. Chasing the Spotlight by holymountain (?) [T] ~20,000 words

This is an AU where Adora is hired to be Catra’s, a pop singer, bodyguard. There’s so many cute moments in this, though admittedly it’s been about 6 months since it’s last updated so be sure to keep that in mind.

6. we’ve been making shades of purple out of red and blue by darklady21 (?) [t] ~24,000 words

An “and they were ROOMMATES” au. In this one though, Catra and Adora don’t actually know each other and really only get to know each other over time. It’s cute and has a lot of interesting interactions between the two, but it hasn’t updated in about 7 months.

7. Tuning Out by FaiaHae (?) [T] ~2500 words

I actually really loved the whole concept of this fic but it hasn’t updated in like, an entire year so...only read if you’re okay with the fact that it probably won’t ever be finished haha

8. burnt sugar by jeserai (O) [G] ~11,000 words

Oh god YES this fic. The classic “fake dating” au except Catra is a rich kid inheriting a business who essentially hires Adora, a broke college student, to go on a date with her to this big business function. There’s not a lot to say about it other than that without giving too much away, but the fic is about halfway done at this point so it’s a pretty short read as of now.

Just be warned, it’s currently on a MASSIVE cliffhanger so if you wanna wait until it updates I totally understand lol

9. still waters by summerson (O) [M] ~28,000 words

TW: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death, Rape/Non-Con, self harm

A “The Last of Us” AU. Personally, I’m not super familiar with TLOU because I could never get into the game myself, but this fic is so well done and the writing style is so interesting and well-executed that I still love this fic to bits. But obviously, for those of you who are aware of TLOU, you already know that this fic is going to contain quite the fair share of angst so be ready.

10. Whispering Dreams by dragonesdepapel (F) [T] ~7500 words

It’s been awhile since I’ve read this one so I don’t remember everything, but I do remember really enjoying the writing style and the construction of this fic. It’s a short read, but it’s totally worth it

11. please could you be tender by erce3 (F) [G] ~40,000 words

please please PLEASE go read this fic. I’m actually begging y’all to go read this one I loved it so much it’s still one of my top 10 faves out there.

This fic is set in a modern setting where Adora & Catra were childhood friends and are in college and god it’s just SO. GOOD. The writing style and composition of the flashbacks with the present events is so beautifully done and organized and I really cannot hype this fic up enough GO READ IT

12. buried a hatchet (it’s coming up lavendar) by erce3 (O) [G] ~12,000 words

on the note of that last rec, I highly rec their other work which is currently in progress. It takes place after S3 but it’s an exploration on if Catra and Adora got trapped in the portal instead of Angella and FUCK this person is genuinely amazing go read their stuff

13. Senior Year by SimplyAbsolute (O) [E] ~98,000 words

This is a really cute fic about Adora and Catra in their final year of college and I guess for me personally it really just hits hard because I’m also in my final year of college lol. But really, it’s a great fic and I suggest checking it out. It’s actually only got one more chapter left too so it’s almost done!

14. Assassinating Adora by Wicked42 (F) [T] ~13,000 words

Jeez this fic was a real rollercoaster of emotions. I loved every bit of it. 

Basically, some people try to assassinate Adora and Catra stops one of them, but both girls are still inflicted by the poison and....it just gets crazier from there. Don’t wanna spoil it too much but this is a must-read for sure.

And this one may seem like cheating but I’m gonna plug one of my own multi-chap fics here

15. Pure Feeling (O) [T] ~30,000 words

TW: brief mention of sexual assault in Ch 5

This is a modern AU set after all the kids have been out of college for a few years. 

Adora and Catra were childhood friends but ended up drifting apart and falling out during their college years. Fast forward about 6 years and they run into each other again, except now Adora has a daughter and is struggling to balance her life as a single mother. Overtime the two girls work on rebuilding their friendship and somewhere along the way might even realize that they’re feelings for each other never really went away. But of course, like all things in life, this isn’t an easy process and they run into more than a few complications - internal and external.

1. The Interlude That Never Ends by FMLClexa [M] ~2500 words

Okay I’m gonna be honest: If you ignore all the other fics on this list, READ THIS ONE. This is absolutely my #1 favorite without a doubt. It’s a soulmate/reincarnation au and it’s so wonderfully executed that I honestly cannot even begin to tell y’all how much I love this one. It’s old and one of the first fics I ever read, but it’s so timeless and excellent and I promise you won’t regret reading it. I know I’ve read this about a million times over.

It’s been a whole year and this has held my #1 fave position the entire time. READ. IT.

2. after party by summerson [M] ~2000 words

TW: recreational drug use

God this fic was so great I read it last night and I’m still in awe in how well it was written and the emotions it managed to invoke in me. My favorite scene is the part where Catra tells Adora “I love you” because it’s so raw and desperate and I vibed with it so hard. It’s really difficult trying to tell someone how much you love them with just a few simple words because they really just don’t convey how much you love them and it’s so frustrating and GAH this fic was fucking great please read it.

3. jigsaw by jeserai [G] ~2500 words

This fic is so great and I felt so warm inside reading it. Definitely read if you want sweet, slow friends to lovers burn.

4. Vicious by SeasInkarnadine [M] ~3500 words

TW: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Rape/Non-Con

I really highly recommend this one if you can get past the trigger warnings. It was so well written and very suspenseful with the juxtaposition of the timeline between current events and snippets of what had happened just hours before. But the ending is really sweet and the way that Catra cares for Adora after the whole thing squeezed my heart to pieces.

This is one I’ve read a few times over because of how much I love it. Def in my top 3.

5. Basement by spookyscaryskeletons [G] ~2800 words

This was such a great rendition of “Adora and Catra are forced to talk” and the emotions were raw and bleeding and I love the character portrayals. 

6. Coming Apart by Whorls [E] ~13,000 words (or ~6,000 words each chap)

Okay this fic technically has two chapters but I’m including it here in the oneshots because the chapters are identical in the sense of story but the only difference is that in chapter one Catra is a cis woman and in chapter two she’s a trans woman pre-op. Other than that the chapters are identical so it’s mostly based off which experience you would rather have while reading.

This fic was. So. Fucking. Good. Sen did such a fantastic job with both aspects of this story and I love it to bits and pieces. The smut in the beginning is delicious as can be, but then towards the latter half it absolutely sucker punches you with feelings but in a good way. I really, really fucking love this fic and I think it needs more attention than it initially got so I’m imploring you all to please go read this fic. It’s fantastic.

7. Seconds That I Cannot Replace by Mogatrat [M] ~7800 words

TW: child abuse, underage(?)

This is a really heartbreaking fic set before canon. It’s about all the times that Catra and Adora started a romantic relationship only for Shadow Weaver to come in and ruin everything by constantly erasing and resetting Adora’s memory. I still think about this fic from time to time. Give it a go.

8. Come morning light by dragonesdepapel [T] ~1800 words

TW: Major Character Death

Another one that’s technically two chapters but it’s the same events, just covers the perspective of each girl. Adora’s dying and asks Catra to stay with her.

Basically this fic ripped my heart out and I still think about it sometimes.

9. someone you like by caela [T] ~5100 words

oh fuck me yes this fic. A modern au where Catra sorta stalks Adora on instagram and accidentally likes an old picture. Fluffiness galore.

10. When You Came Calling by ActuallyMe [E] ~5200 words

TW: Major Character Death

A 1940′s Mob AU where Catra is a private eye and Adora married high-ranking mob boss Hordak...who’s just been murdered.

Really great one shot. Personally I would’ve loved to see more come of this but it’s great on its own.

And once again, this is cheating but here’s a couple oneshots of my own that I wanna plug real quick

11. hang tight (all you) [T] ~9200 words

Modern AU fic set when Catra and Adora are in high school. Adora struggles to come to terms with her sexuality in an discouraging environment as well as the fact that she’s had a crush on her best friend since middle school. Personally I think this was one of my best works and a lot of other people seem to have liked it too so yeah!

12. as my World d[ivides] [E] ~2500 words

TW: Rape/Non-Con, Underage

One of my darker fics, but still one I’m pretty proud of. Without giving too much away, Adora suffers from a trauma and engages in unhealthy coping mechanisms and Catra enables her because no one’s taught them any different.

-Legal Partners and The Marriage Bed-legal partners is iconic, #1 wrightworth fic of all time it’s on everyone’s fic rec list and for good reason its a must read along with its shorter sequel the marriage bed which is nsfw btw -School Daze-Phoenix and Edgeworth are teachers at a middle school and Phoenix is also a single father. this fic is so incredible it actually made me nostalgic. for middle school -The Phantom’s Curse-PIRATE AU! god it’s SO GOOD when you read it you really feel like you’re going on a real adventure -Legally Wright-it’s legally blonde but starring phoenix wright and that’s all i need. very funny -Fire in Snow-fantasy AU, very high fantasy and magical to read, like it comes right out of storybook. it’s written by the same author as legal partners -How to Court A Fool in Under Three Months-edgeworth has a 3 month deadline to confess his feelings before trucy sets phoenix up with someone i!!! ADORE this fic! it actually made me cry because it’s so perfect -Keep Your Promises-wrightworth fic featuring a sort of proposal? it’s so cute and sweet do yourself a favor and check it out -Without Wings-one of the more angsty entries on this list where both Edgeworth and Phoenix were adopted and hurt by von Karma, featuring mute!phoenix. it really goes places few others have gone and since everything’s so sad it feels great when things get better -The Wedding Planner-popular and adorable AU where Edgeworth is a wedding planner and Phoenix is a baker it’s an endearing original fic with a unique charm to it -Losses and Victories-very character-study heavy it’s incredibly written with a pitch perfect in character relationship -A Fool in Love (With You)-wrightworth wedding fic!!! because i am W EAK! everything is happy and sweet -A Turnabout Toast-Larry has his life together and challenges Phoenix and Edgeworth to get theirs together which leads them to getting together and it’s lovely just read it -To Turn The Titanic- actually a series, so you’re getting three great fics in a bundle here. it’s some grade A introspective wrightworth with a realistic portrayal of edgeworth getting used to a relationship (second entry into the series involves some making out that’s nsfwish?) -Of Fake Fairytales and Faux Amour-it’s a crowd-pleaser fake dating fic that’s slow-burn and funny. unfortunately it’s unfinished

-A Series of Accidents-rare pair WIP fic for Gregory and Misty making it one of the only kind out there!! i adore it bc its dialogue is quippy and fun to read and the characters and their dynamic is singularly charming -the greatest magic trick of all time-8 year old Trucy and Edgeworth bonding it’s cute and Trucy’s perspective is written amazingly -Hot for Justice-klapollo fic Klavier and Apollo help each other out their chemistry is great and i love the idea of Klavier getting musical inspiration from his bf -Lex Talionis-BETTER WRITTEN THAN CANON I S2G it’s a fic that actually bothers to turn Kristoph into a human not a woobie or anything just they give him motivations and flesh him out more than capcom bothered to just trust me this whole fic is bittersweet and genius -Archaeology-a lot of series characters clean up Mia’s old office and reflect. this fic’ll make you feel things about the whole series. it’s a masterpiece -Avatar Book 1: Rapid Fire-the last airbender AU where Phoenix is the avatar it’s cute and funny and i love how it neatly balances out a large group of characters -Dementia-major angst as it depicts a heart-breakingly realistic scenario of Edgeworth suffering from dementia it’s tragic and beautiful like seriously this might make you cry -Four Creamers and Two Sugar Packets-franmaya coffee shop AU it’s great to watch Franziska develop. it’s a story as sweet as its title -Real Magic-harry potter AU where Trucy goes to hogwarts after her dad’s wand has been broken and she has to deal with that. it’s tons of fun just to watch her go through daily life and make friends -Dearest Journal-World War II franmaya AU where Franziska is sent off to work on maya’s farm to stay safe during the blitz. gives Franziska a very unique and fitting voice -Fool's Errand-Larry takes Franziska out, platonically and they spend the day together i know it’s a peculiar pair but hear me out it’s actually  authentic and written very cleverly/funnily -A Match Made in Neo-Olde Tokyo-speaking of weird pairs this is Maya and Blackquill romantic fic obviously a rare pair but this fic is a gem that makes it work and makes me ship it -A Wrench in the Works-Aura goes back in time to try and save Metis. cykesquill (the older lesbian kind) featured. it’s heart-rending -Memory-Edgeworth is reminded of a younger Franziska via Rayfa very short but very genuine -Crossfire-Datz/Dhurke and the story of how Dhurke had to get that eye patch so like, obviously warning for some violence there. i love dhurke and datz and it made so much sense within canon it also made me hurt. -Accidentals-Blackmadhi orchestra AU i love band/orchestra AUs and what i love most about this fic is that it does a great job of characterizing Blackquill and Nahyuta through their different playing styles it’s so fitting   -Lyricless Lament-5+1 style fic where Sebastian gets love that he needs. Focuses heavily on similarities and building a relationship (not explicitly romantic, could be viewed that way) between Sebastian and Klavier. AAI2 spoilers -'Debeste' Prosecutor for the Magician Who's Always 'Wright'-also AAI2 spoilers Sebastian finds a friend in 8 year old Trucy who helps him heal the two make for an adorable pair

Why are you so into The Purge as a scenario???

Listen, this took me by surprise too. Explaining it now makes me sound like a crazy person. But I will try.

The Purge is a horror movie franchise, set in a dystopian near-future America where all crime is legal for one day a year, including murder. Pretty dark, edgy, violent stuff! I am not especially interested in the dark and grim sociopolitical realities of this situation, in case my prompts don’t make that clear. I am here for the absurdity, and in the case of most of these fandoms, for the weird and hilarious contrast between my requested fandom and the over the top violence of The Purge. You don’t even need to watch any of The Purge movies, because let’s be real, I don’t care about the world building or logistics here, and I’m not interested in a true crossover so much as I am in borrowing the “all crime is legal for a day” scenario. If any of the Purge prompts speak to you, read some wiki summaries and have at it.

Don’t feel obligated to write those prompts if these aren’t scenarios that appeal to you! And if you do write them, please, don’t make them super dark. Again, the appeal here is the absurdity, not the grim violence of it all.

Derry Girls: Erin Quinn, Clare Devlin, Michelle Mallon, James Maguire

Let me start off by saying you don’t need to include all four in a fic if you don’t want to! I’m perfectly happy with any configuration you end up putting together. If you want to include all the gang, that’s great too! I love everybody nominated so feel free to go wherever your imagination takes you.

I love how the group will spend all day making fun of each other but always come together when it counts. I would definitely enjoy you keeping with the show and doing something with that. Everyone going up on stage to perform with Orla and James realizing that he belongs as a Derry Girl are two of my favorite scenes.

Prompts:

Erin/Clare: I would love a fic where Erin and Clare really do go to prom together instead of the whole thing with Mae and John Paul. Maybe they go for real, or maybe Erin goes as her fake date to support her and then they have to continue the charade after prom. Erin would definitely do a lot of research and throw herself fully into being the best lesbian she could be, which obviously would include practicing kissing Clare a whole lot. I love a good fake dating fic that has the couple accidentally catching feelings. I also love the idea of everyone thinking she’s just making a statement and her dad being the only one to realize her feelings are for real.

I also love the idea of them bonding over a crush on Ms. De Brun, either after the first time or having her roll back into town and Erin going full Dean Pelton “This better not awaken anything in me.”

Michelle/James: I’m very into their combative but loving relationship. Michelle asking him to stay in the finale *__* I’m also very much into introducing a cousinfucking aspect but if you aren’t, don’t worry. I also enjoy how they are in the show, so if you keep their relationship at that level I’ll still be perfectly happy. If you are into it, Michelle totally gives off a “stop making love to me while I’m trying to fuck you” vibe and I would really enjoy seeing how annoyed she would be to realize he was more than just a ride to her.

Michelle gets caught in a time loop and has to figure out how to escape it. Maybe she lets James leave Derry all those other times and the version we see is the one she got right. Or maybe James and Michelle both get caught up in a loop and try increasingly ridiculous schemes to get out of it.

Or maybe Michelle’s mom gave up James’ room when she thought he was leaving with his mom and now James and Michelle have to share a room. They have to deal with all the feelings the finale brought up.

If you are more inspired by one of the other configurations please go for it. I loved James being instantly on Clare’s side when she came out. Finding out how Michelle and/or Erin and/or Clare’s friendship started would be fun. I liked James coming through for Erin when she got stood up. If you are more inspired by James and Erin please keep it platonic. I like them just as friends. I’m definitely open to James, Michelle, and Erin being queer/bi/etc if you’re interested in including that in any of these prompts.

Mad Men: Bob Benson, Pete Campbell

This is probably my forever yuletide fandom! The show’s been over for a while now, but I still have an enormous soft spot for the love story of Bob and Pete, and would read any number of variations on it.

I don’t mind if you ignore certain parts of canon (s7) or go canon divergent, you can also follow canon if want (Bob shows up in Wichita??) GO WILD.

Shipping Bob/Pete began as a joke for me, but I do ship it for real. I like that Bob is all *_________* about Pete and Pete is simultaneously disgusted and intrigued. He might not be gay, but he’s definitely into someone who’s into him.

Also, if you just want to write about Bob I’d be really interested in his past and what the whole “manservant” deal was. We pretty much know nothing about him and I’d be interested in some backstory, but I’m not exactly looking for Bob/OMC PWP. In case it seemed that way!

Fake dating: The CEO of a big company is secretly gay and Pete thinks pretending to be gay will form a bond of solidarity that will give him an edge, but the CEO mistakes this for interest and Pete scrambles to come up with an excuse to get out of doing anything gay and he comes up with, “I have a lover! You may have met him…”

They go to a gay bar lolz and awkwardness ensue.

Pete molds Bob into the Perfect Ad Man and falls for him in the process. Basically “My Fair Lady” with a hillbilly and sodomy.

Groundhog day fic: Pete has to go through the same day again and again, tries to get help from Ken, Peggy, etc, and then comes to the realization that only Bob believes him.

Bob is a conman who starts out trying to seduce Pete as part of a long con, but ends up falling in love.

what if Bob is a spy who mistakes Pete for his contact because Pete compliments his tie? what kind of spy and mistaken identity shenanigans could ensue?

What if Bob and Pete + the Purge??? I feel like Bob would do well. He’s got secrets. Maybe one of those secrets is a facility with weaponry. Also, sodomy wasn’t legal in New York until the 1980s. What if someone in the office awkwardly asks Bob what he’s going to do during the Purge and Pete is appalled, because how uncouth! Everyone knows you don’t ask people what they’re going to do during the Purge! And then Bob makes some veiled comment about how he always spends his Purges banging dudes, and Pete is horribly Intrigued because sex stuff is never a Purge thing he’d thought of.

Queen’s Thief - Megan Whalen Turner: Gen, Attolia

I love these books, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I love Attolia, Gen, and their relationship best. I didn't see the twist where Gen confessed his love to Attolia coming at all the first time I read it and I frantically read to the end to make sure that everything turned out ok. As soon as I got there, I flipped to the front and started again. Somewhere between that moment and when I reached that scene on the stairs again, they became one of my all time OTPs. To be honest, it was probably when she cut off his hand.

I just love them so much, with how ruthless Attolia is and how clever Gen is, and all I want is a fic that focuses on them and their sort of messed up dynamic and that will be enough. I also love Kamet/Costis and would be happy to see something about them in addition to some Gen/Attolia content. I'm open to canon divergent AUs, but, please, no AUs where Attolia doesn't cut off his hand.

Prompts:

Part of what I love so much about this pairing is how terrifyingly competent they are together, and what a good team they make. So I’d love a fic about something like, what if some of their barons are stupid enough to think that Gen and Attolia can be turned on each other? Obviously Gen and Attolia have to go crush them together.

They have to go on some kind of diplomatic visit to Eddis or Sounis or maybe something further afield and absolutely nothing goes as planned. Again, show me how terrifyingly competent they are! Or just go for the lolz: how hilariously wrong can things go, and how do Gen and Attolia deal with it? You can also go the action/adventure route: do they have to get themselves out of a sticky situation by fighting or sneaking around?

Speaking of sneaking around: I’m also into the many possibilities of the scenario where Gen teaches Attolia how to sneak into his bedroom for once. Sexy, funny, emotional, all of the above, I’m into any of it!

Part of the messed up dynamic that I love with these two is how fear and love and guilt are all mixed up together for them, after Attolia cuts off her hand. So I’d be really interested in anything about how/if Gen gets over his fear of Attolia in bed or not, but maybe definitely at least in part through sex.

And because I’ve got a soft spot for Costis and Kamet: Gen and Attolia attend Costis and Kamet's wedding, in disguise or not. Maybe it makes them think of their own wedding! Maybe everyone just reflects sappily on True Love! Or maybe someone gets up to shenanigans!  It’s up to you, dear writer!

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: May Parker, Olivia Octavius

"My friends call me Liv," Doc Ock says to Miles. And then when she walks into Aunt May's house, May says, "Oh great, it's Liv." I would really love to read a lot more about what's going on with that. Sex is not a must, but I do ship them and anything about a romantic relationship would be great. If you're not into that, then I'd love to read more exploring their dynamic in general -- May is so fondly exasperated and not remotely surprised, but they both immediately go to the mat.

Prompts:

Pre-movie college backstory. Were they rivals-turned-lovers in college? Friendly but disinterested roommates who spent all their time playing science cloak-and-dagger games before realizing over spring break that their nemesis was their roommate? 

Pre-movie Spidey parallels backstory. May was clearly supporting Peter as he developed into your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and Octavia has been... what? We know she's CEO of Alchemax during the movie -- was she promoted? Is she the founder? I'd love something exploring their parallel paths, May as a behind-the-scenes string-puller and Liv as a mad scientist, with Peter in the middle working to counter Liv more explicitly. 

Post-movie, MIles goes to visit Aunt May and finds Liv there. They have a really awkward tea. 

Post-movie, Liv tries to make a comeback. May rolls her eyes and gets to work.

Purge!AU: What happens to the two of them on Purge night? Does May reluctantly go out to try to stop whatever Liv is up to this time? Do they end up working together for some reason? Do they declare it amateur night and just order a pizza?

Also, I would be interested in a fun fic where May and Liv both end up sort of awkwardly mentoring Miles because Miles and Liv end up in a classic supervillian-superhero team-up against some other big villain or disaster.

Fleabag: Fleabag, Priest

So I watched all of Fleabag in a weekend fueled by pizza and beer and loved all of it. But, not gonna lie, what really got me to sit down and finally watch the show was all this talk of a hot priest romance going on in season 2. Others may never believe Moriarty from BBC Sherlock could bring it like that, but I saw the light.

I’m absolutely fine with shippy fic for this fandom. If you want to go down the hardcore priest fucking road then go wild, but I did love everything about the show. Fleabag herself and all of her issues, Claire (and her haircut) and everyone else. Whatever you can write for me that captures how heartbreaking and funny the show is would be great, I'm sure.

Prompts:

With all this talk of the cool Pope maybe considering letting priests marry let’s pretend that the Vatican really does that and now priests everywhere can get married. How would Fleabag feel when she sees the news on the telly? How would the Priest? Imagine them bumping into each other after the news come out.

I think one of the most interesting things about season 2 was the Priest knowing when Fleabag was breaking the fourth wall. What if the fox is his personal fourth wall that no one sees but Fleabag that he can’t leave behind until he deals with his shit? 

Purge prompt: Brexit finally happens and the new PM decides to try this Purge thing the Americans have been doing every year. How would Fleabag fare in the purge? Would she stay locked inside with her family having to fight off Stepmother, who’s down to do some purging herself and is scarily good at killing people? Would she go off to hunt Martin? Maybe fucking a Priest doesn’t count if it’s during purge night.

The Eagle | Eagle of the Ninth: Marcus Flavius Aquila, Esca Mac Cunoval

I love this stupid movie so much.I love Marcus, Esca, and Marcus/Esca and would prefer them shipped. UST/pre-slash is okay, too, if you'd rather not write a romance, but please at least leave me the hope that it's going to happen!

What I really love about Marcus/Esca is how even when Marcus is the one who holds official power over Esca as his owner, Esca is always the one with the power in their relationship because Marcus is so desperately into him. I love Marcus pining for Esca but being too honourable to do anything about it, while Esca is too angry at himself for pining for Marcus to do anything about it. I also enjoy Marcus having Roman issues about wanting Esca to fuck him and I don't care if they're not entirely historically accurate. I would just be very into Marcus having very rigid ideas about sex between men and struggling with wanting Esca to fuck him and Esca helping him overcome that.

Some general things about them that I love, both in the movie and in potential fic: cultural miscommunications, or just them worrying enough about miscommunication that they don't even try. Marcus having such utter blind trust in Esca. Esca having to relearn how to let somebody care about him.

That said, my first request is PWP. /o\ I would really, really love a Seal People Made Them Do It fic. Maybe the Seal Prince wants Esca to prove Marcus is his slave, or maybe there's a general boning festival going on and it'd be weird/suspicious for Esca not to participate, I don't know (and not too concerned with historical accuracy on this one). But I'm very into the danger element of they have to fake it for their safety/survival and the intimacy element of them understanding each other with few or no words. Like from Esca's POV, he gets that Marcus understands and consents, or from Marcus', understanding that if he doesn't want to go along with it, they can try to kill their way out. And, okay, if Marcus is a little ashamed of being into it, I am very, very there for that. :9

I would also love a roadtrip fic! The movie clearly ends with Marcus setting Esca up to choose their next adventure, so what does he choose? I don't have a lot of specific plot ideas for that, but I would definitely love to see them on another journey together, maybe hitting all the fun roadtrip tropes, like huddling for warmth in the woods and there being only one bed in their room at the hospitia. 

Or, if you're feeling up to something fun and weird, a Purge AU. Honestly, Ancient Rome is a setting that seems oddly suited to hosting the Purge and I would love to see it either played relatively straight to dark and dramatic effect, or humorously deconstructed, with Esca exasperated by more let's-kill-people Roman nonsense.

I would also really be into fic from Esca's POV, holding Marcus during the surgery and contemplating letting twitch and die, and then ~looking into his eyes~ and feeling sick with himself for having such a thought about the man who saved his life, even if he is a Roman asshole. Perhaps followed by all the times Esca could have had him killed or let him die and deciding not to because HONOR until he realizes no, actually, I just really, really want to bone this dude. And then he follows up on that realization, in whatever romantic form that takes.

Also english isn’t my mother tongue, sorry for (m)any typos! Also, why am I doing this to myself? ~ “I love you.”, you say, exhaling softly and closing your eyes. You wait to hear if he says it back. He doesn’t.

Long after you have fallen asleep Bucky wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you close. “I love you, too.”, he whispers. But you can’t hear him.

Two days later:

You’re in your apartment, which you share with your best friend Natasha, working on your assignment. Or that’s what you should be doing. But really you are just waiting for Bucky to call you back. Which he hasn’t so far. You are used to it though. An hour truly isn’t much. For his standards that is.

It’s been two days since you have last seen Bucky and you made plans two have dinner tonight.

After another hour it happens. Your phone finally rings. As you hear the beginning tunes of ‘Viva la Vida’ your head immediatly perks up and a smile makes it’s way onto your lips. Nat sighs and shoots you a pityful glance.

But when you look down at your cell, it’s not Bucky calling. It’s Steve, his best friend.

You already know what is coming. Bucky has done this a thousand times, using Steve to cancel his plans with you. You really don’t know why Steve still puts up with this. But then  again, so do you.

“Heey Steve.” You pick up the phone, your mood audible in your voice. On the other end you hear Steve sigh.

“I am sorry, Y/N. I really am.”, he says.

“You don’t need to be.” You swallow hard. You meant it. It’s not Steve’s fault.

“It’s just-”, Steve starts to explain, but you cut him off. “No need to make up excuses. I get it.”

“I don’t think you do.” You laugh. Now it is your fault, or what?

“Look, today is not a good day for Bucky.”

“And he can’t tell me that himself?”, you snap.

“Like I said, not a good day.”, Steve explains.   “I GET IT.”, you yell. You immediatly feel sorry for screaming at Steve like that. He definitely did not deserve it.

“Sorry.” You take a deep breath. “Just…, tell Bucky…” You swallow. “Tell him it’s fine. And-” Hesitantly you finish. “Tell him I am here if he needs me.”

“I will.”  ~ “Bucky, you need to stop avoiding Y/N. She doesn’t deserve it.”, Steve says, his eyes piercing through Bucky.

“I am not avoiding her.”, Bucky growels, his stare just as intense as Steve’s.

Steve snorts. “You’re not? Then why did I just call your girlfriend to tell her that you don’t have time for her?”

Sighing Bucky breaks his stare. “You know it’s not like that.”

Steve gets up from to couch to grab another beer from the fridge. “I know that, but does she?” He opens the fridge door, to realize that there is no beer left. Using slightly too much force he shuts the door and turns around to face Bucky again, leaning against the fridge. “You cannot keep pulling shit like this and expect her to stay.”

Bucky inhales deeply. “I am not sure I want her to stay.” ~ “You should break up with him.”, Nat says, as soon as you end the call.

“What?!” You just stare at her. She can’t honestly mean that. She knows how you feel about Bucky and how much he means to you.

“I know you love him, but you need to brace yourself for the possibility that he doesn’t feel the same way about you anymore.” She carefully meets your gaze.

But you are not ready for this. So you go back to working on your assignment that you couldn’t care about less. ~ What Natasha said doesn’t leave your thoughts the rest of the day. Even now, lying in your bed that’s awfully empty without Bucky there.

For a while you just stare at the white ceiling.

Maybe he doesn’t feel the same way about you anymore. You close your eyes, but you can’t stop the tears from falling. A sob escapes from your lips. You quickly cover your mouth with one hand, not wanting Nat to hear you cry.

You really don’t want her to be right, but can’t stop yourself from think ‘what if she is?’. Were two years all you would get with Bucky? There was a time where you actually thought he was the one. And you still do.

But being with someone does not fully commit to you, hell, who does not even make time to see you, is not the way to live.

How foolish of you to think that you could have it all. An apartment close to your dream college with your best friend, the perfect guy and a great relationship with him.

And Bucky was the perfect guy. Handsome with gorgeos blue eyes that you could stare at for hours, if he would actually spend time with you. The right amount smart and funny, you could joke with him just as well as you could have a serious conversation. If he would actually talk to you. He was just… a little damaged. Which was probably why he was ignoring you right now.

It wouldn’t be fair for you to leave him now, just because he was going through a hard time. After all he had been there for you. And that’s what you want. You want to be there for him. But he doesn’t let you. ~ All of a sudden you are pulled out of sleep, your face and pillow drenched in water.

Confused you look around for the reason you awoke and find Nat standing next to your bed with an empty glass in her hand. She freaking poured cold water on you.

Nat smiles apologetically and shrugs. “Get your ass out of bed. Now. We’re late.” And with that she leaves.

Groaning you hoist yourself out of bed. You roll your head to stretch your neck and lightly massage your shoulders.

You hadn’t slept well and now your whole body ached. ‘Good.’, you think. At least now your body matches your soul.

You don’t want to go to class today. You don’t feel well. ‘Not a good day.’, you think and laugh at yourself. But opposed to Bucky you really want to talk to him or just be close to him. A light sob comes out. You take a deep breath. No time to cry. ~ After a quick shower and a cup of coffee you already feel a little better. Well enough to tackle a day of college.

You still needed to speak to Professor Coulson about that assignment. Since you hadn’t gotten anything done yesterday, you doubt it would be finished by tomorrow. But maybe you could convince him to give you more time.

When you arrive you and Nat part ways and head to your lectures. You round the corner and find yourself face to face with non other than Bucky Barnes.

Though you had been wanting to see him for the past few days, now that you are standing in front of him you don’t know what to say.

You immediatly start to blush and turn around. You shouldn’t be embarassed. But you are. So you start walking back only to realize that you are late and you have to get to class. Even if that means having to face Bucky.

Apruptly you halt your steps. Inhaling deeply you gather the courage to turn around.

He is still there. Just standing there, staring at you. Why doesn’t he say something. He just looks at you with those blue eyes, the pain and sorrow visible in his gaze.

He does not look well.  His skin pale as ever, dark blue bags under his truly beautiful eyes. Neither one of you moves. You want to. You want to run away. Turn around and never look back. You want to run into his arms. Wrap your arms around him and never let go.

“Aghm.” A cough pulls you out of your mind.

You both break your stare to find Steve, who just emmerged from the men’s bathroom, leaning awkwardly against the door, looking like wants to be anywhere but here.

“Sorry to interrupt your staring contest, but we are all late to Professor Coulson’s class.” ~ The short walk to the lecture hall was… uncomfortable, to say the least. Neither of you says a word. You wouldn’t know what to say or talk about anyway.

Now you are sitting in the second row, gaze fixed on Bucky’s brown hair in front of you.  You can’t help but wonder if it is still as soft as always. You find yourself reaching out to touch it and quickly pull back your hand.

First you are late and now you cannot concentrate on what the Professor is saying. Great way to show Coulson you deserve more time.

“Now remember that essay we talked about is due ‘til tomorrow.” With that Professor Coulson dismisses the class.

You throw your notebook and pen into your bag, straighten out your skirt and make your way to the front.

“Y/N.” You hadn’t heard his voice in too long.

But you continue walking until you reach Professor Coulson’s desk.

“I wanted to- ahm- ask if- ahm- it would be possible to… maybe possibly hand in the essay the day after tomorrow?”, you stuttered, hands sweaty. Great, you couldn’t even form a coherent sentence.

“Are alright, Y/N?” Brows furrowed your professor watches you intently.

“It’s fine.” You brush a stray hair strand out of your face, twirling it as you do so. “I mean I am fine.” You swallow, masking up a smile that is so obviously fake you don’t even know why you tried. Dropping the smile, you knead your hands together, slightly cracking your knuckles.

“You have until Wednesday.”, Professor Coulon says, a small smile on his lips. “I hope you get better.” Leaning forward slightly he whispers: “I think James is waiting for you.”

You look over your shoulder and see Bucky, James,  leaning casually against the front row table, hands in the pockets of his jeans, gaze focused on the floor as if he was looking for for something. Right in that moment he looks up and his gaze meets yours. His lips curve up just the tiniest bit.

“Thank you, Professor.”, you say, before turning fully.

You start to walk towards Bucky, aware of every single stept you make. It feels like you have forgotten how to walk properly.

Bucky’s gaze never leaves you and that is part of the problem. The 5m from Coulson’s desk to the front row feel like 5km.

Too soon you reach Bucky and look up at him, now standing in his full height, hands leaving his pockets to hang awkwardly at his side.

His right hand slowly begins to lift and you lift yours to meet his in a very odd handshake.

“I was going for a hug, but I guess this is fine as well.”, he mumbles, gaze dropping to the floor again.

A nervous giggle escapes your lips. You let go of his hand, which you hadn’t noticed you were still holding, and wrap your arms around his waist, before you can think twice about it.

It feels so familiar. And good. It feels so good.

You rest your head on Bucky’s chest. You can hear his heart beating. Fast and hard.

He puts one hand on the back of your head, the other on the small of your back and pulls you impossibly closer.

“I missed you.”, he whispers, mouth grazing your ear.

Don’t you dare say something. Don’t you dare ruin this moment. But then you have never been the type to keep your mouth shut.

“You don’t have to.” You say quietly, head still pressed against his chest. “I am here. And will always be.”

Carefully you look up at his face, not sure if you whether you want to see his reaction.

His teeth are clenched together, lips pressed into a fine line, jawline more visible than usual.

When he sees that you are looking at him, his lips form into a tight lipped smile. “I know baby, I know.” He presses his lips to your forehead in a soft kiss.

You move your hands from his waist to the sides of his face and raise to the tips of your toes to place a kiss on Bucky’s lips.

All of a sudden you hear the door shut. “Oh, you are still here.”, Coulson says, scratching his head. “Sorry to interrupt, but the next class starts in 5 minutes.” He walks over to his desk and sets his bag and a fresh, still steaming cup of coffee on it. “You might want to go somewhere… more private.”

Startled the two of you break apart. Keeping your head down you rush out of the room, mumbling “Sorry.” as you do. Bucky is right behind you, following your every step. ~ “Soo…” You come to a stop in front of a bank on campus. You sit down and pat the spot next to you, motioning Bucky to sit down, too. “Are we gonna talk about what happened?”

“What do you mean?”

You laugh. “Oh come on!” You stare at him, probably not looking as scary or threatening as you think.

“Don’t pretend you haven’t been avoiding me for the past two days!” Your voice comes out louder than intended. You cover your face with your hands, elbows resting on your knees. “I know you are going through a hard time, but… you could have at least texted.” The last part sounds more like a sob than anything else. At this point you are trying very hard to hold back the tears.

Bucky tears your hands away from your face. He grips your cheeks, forcing you to look at him. “I- I shouldn’t have done that.” He lets go of your face and looks down at his shoes.

Not being able to stop yourself, you brush his hair away from his face and behind his ear.

“It’s fine.” You try to reassure him. And maybe yourself. “Really, it’s fine. I am used to it.” At that you just have to laugh. You are actually used to your boyfriend ignoring you.

Said boyfriend’s head snaps in your direction. Wiggling closer, he puts his hand your thigh.

“You shouldn’t be. I shouldn’t-” He looks down at his hand that’s now drawing small circles. “I shouldn’t treat you like this.” His gaze wanders before settling down on yours.

“I am finally in my right mind. I love you, Y/N, and I need you. I have to stop pushing you away.” He runs a hand through his hair. “I was just so afraid. Still kinda am. It’s been so long since I- since I felt this way for someone.” He smiles. Not a small or tight lipped smile, but a genuine one.

A tear falls from your left eye. And that’s enough to break the damm. All the tears you had been holding back stream down your face and soon you’re leaning against Bucky’s shoulder, sobbing uncontrolably.

“Why are you crying?”, he asks, rubbing your shoulder soothingly. “I just told you I love you.” You can basically hear the giant smile on his face.

“Exactly!” ~ As Steve opens the front door to his and Bucky’s apartment he can already hear you giggling. Smiling he steps inside.

You are lying on the couch, head in Bucky’s lap, his hands gently stroking your hair.

“What are you watching?”, Steve asks as he examines the TV.

“Captain America.”, Bucky says, not looking up.

Giggling you point at the TV. “He looks so much like you, Steve!” ~ FIN ❤
