Oh, I just assumed you folk, whoever you are, already knew. I, like most anything these days, am a part of the CRADLE initiative.

More specifically, the bio division. And yeah, government, academia, it’s all kind of a mishmash. I went through their education program so this role has been pretty streamlined my whole life.

Funny thing is I did have 90s and 00s shoujo anime when working on Saturn and Titan, specifically!

I mean:

(Maya from Ultra Maniac and Saturn; I didn't even copy this shot, I drew Saturn only to find out that there was a screenshot of Maya like this! Drawing this exact pose had to be subconscious; I haven't touched this series in decades, but I know deep down Maya has always inspired Saturn's hairdo.)

I can't find a direct inspiration from the 90s or 00s for Titan, but I listened to Ghibli music on loop for him (especially Merry-Go-Round of Life, his theme song)! But I guess this counts as one of his design inspirations?? Even if it's not very direct (and their personalities couldn't be more different):

what sort of job may include magnet suit? and wow, diving suit? including sandstorms i thought there is no place to dive, was i wrong?

Magnet workers are usually the guys you see fixing stuff up on the domes - the magnetic grapples help them scale the supports of the structure to climb up to whatever it is that needs installing or patching up.

and, yeah around the project there isn’t many places to dive. I’m pretty sure there’s a lake to the east. I think (if I’m remembering this right) this area used to be known for its lakes but most are dried up now.

But, I mean, I don’t know where you’re sending this from but surely you can see the benefit of the diving suits though? particularly in the sunken domes there’s whole sections of filtration and coolant and even residential parts completely submerged. Someone’s gotta go out there and fix them.
