Barbara had been chatting with Pharaoh for almost as long as she had been Oracle. He was another hacker, one who she had struck up a friendship with and genuinely cared about. He told corny jokes and complained about how pushy his vegetarian friend was, but despite him being a hacker, he was her closest non vigilante friend.

So, two days before the tenth anniversary of her becoming paralyzed, she gathered her courage and sent an email about what happened. (She might have unloaded more of her emotions than she thought, but she was kind of emotional.)

She didn’t hear anything back, and it put her on edge. Pharaoh always responded within 36 hours of any email, but he didn’t respond to this one. (A part of her wondered if she had gotten too real, said too much, if she had done something to alienate her best friend.

The morning of the anniversary, she woke to chaos and jubilation in the streets. She opened her phone to hundreds of notifications. However, the news headline caught her eye first.

Joker found in full body Paralysis! Doctors say there is no chance of recovery!

Barbara blinked, and then a notification from Pharaoh caught her eye.

The Clown is never gonna walk again. He’s not dead, but he won’t be able to move anything below the neck ever again.

idk if this fandom is big enough but i’ll take my stab at some stuff, although i do think i’m more open to fanon when it comes to nextgen so this is more stuff that i disagree with rather than dislike (so pleaseeee no one take offence)

ok i just GOTTA make a ghoul analyzation post bc nobody else is CAUSE LOOK AT THEMMM

because there is so much here and im not seeing anybody else here chat about it

im gonna start from left to right in the lineup picture on the official ghost website

far left ghoul:

presumably a male ghoul based on the top hat and what looks like a suit coat (hard to tell in shadow). their mouth isnt covered, which i assume is to mimic the impera open mouth masks and not because they’re a singer. i can’t tell their stature from this image (im very bad at recognizing ghouls from appearance anyways), but i doubt they’re a ghoul from the previous era.

second left ghoul:

this ghoul has the same hood/veil (idk the terminology im sorry 😭) as the ghoulettes, but presumably lacks the wings that the ghoulettes in the front have. i can’t tell from their appearance if they’re a ghoul or a ghoulette, but their costume leans towards ghoulette. if they don’t have wings, i assume they might be playing the instruments rather than backup singer, similar to how only the vocalists had capes in impera. im leaning to think this is a ghoulette. i doubt they’re any previous member. the marking over their left eye appears to be more burn-like. curious!

third left ghoul:

i think they are very clearly a ghoulette because usually the ghoulettes have extra additions to their costumes compared to everyone else to distinguish them (like the silver masks in meliora/prequelle and the capes in impera, even if the capes were for everyone mainly the ghoulettes wore them). if anyone were to come along to the new era (do we call it skeletá eta?), i’d think it was aurora or phantom since they’re the newest and the rest have been around for 2+ eras. and because this ghoulette seems to be the shortest, i think there’s a chance they’re aurora! still, i think i’d prefer new ghoul lineup. they have a little mark over their left eye.

closest left ghoul:

again, based on costume and stature, i think this is a ghoulette. i can’t tell, but it seems like they’re lacking the wings as well, but there’s a chance! again, i’m not too familiar with the previous ghouls’ statures, so i have no clue if this is one of the previous ghoulettes. i personally like them, they seem scary :3 also what’s interesting tis that they have this sort of crack/mark over their left eye! it shows up on the second left ghoul too (but slightly different). i wonder if this is how we’ll differentiate them w/out using appearance/stature?

closest right ghoul:

now this one is somewhat obscured in shadow and difficult to see. based on the costume, ghoulette is a possibility in my eyes, but i can’t tell. they seem not to have any markings on their face, but it’s hard to tell. mysterious ghoul! im gonna nickname this one delphi because a synonym of mysterious is delphic and i think it fits! i think delphi could be ghoul or ghoulette, but there’s always a possibility of nonbinary ghoul!

second right ghoul:

again, seems like another ghoulette just based off of the wings and their stature. i don’t think this is a ghoul from the previous lineup! they have a crack over their left eye too, but also it looks like they have little tear-like marks under their right! might be a trick of the light, but i think that’s cool. i would say because of that they could be a water ghoul, but the wings would likely make it a bit difficult to play so i doubt any of the winged ghouls are the ones playing. i like them :3

third right ghoul:

another tophat ghoul! i assume male, which means that we only have TWO confirmed male ghouls. unless butch ghouls, in which case hell fucking yeah. regardless, they have the same crack-like mark over their left eye. the ghoulette’s wing covers their stature, so it’s hard to tell if they’re anyone from the previous lineup. not much to say!

far right ghoul:

this one is interesting! they have the costume details of the ghoulettes/ghoulette aligned, but their stature suggests different! nonbinary ghoul? or can the male ghouls have the ghoulette costumes? maybe the tophats are something special! who knows? it doesn’t look like anyone from a previous era, either. they look like they’re wearing an ushanka because of the lighting lmao.

that’s all i have to say about the ghouls! i think the details of cracks/damage/markings over predominantly their left eyes links nicely to the emeritus’ left eyes being white! maybe the ghouls are more closely connected to papa perpetua than others were to previous papas! i really like all their designs and im excited to see if we have a predominantly ghoulette cast this time around, that’d be awesome! and also, i like the thought of possibly nonbinary ghouls too! thank u for reading lolz

ALSO, I wonder if the Foglios deliberately used the Jägertalk to hide this little foreshadowing. I remember when I first read this comic, I thought kestle was going to be some fantasy/sci-fi made up thing, a soothsayer of some kind. I had a distinct image of an oracle of Delphi type, a hooded figure muttering fractured prophesies to itself.

the 'palace' scene

i have been WAITING to talk about this scene and it has finally come to it. this will be my last post in terms of the changes because i believe i have gone through them all (could be wrong).

instead of writing the whole scene (because that would make this post even longer), i decided to include an audio recording from the current broadway version (Joel Meyers & Erik Christopher Peterson 2024) and the original script. i recommend listening to it while reading the original script before reading the rest of this post.

alrighty, time to go into my thoughts. 

essentially, this scene has gone from a cute little moment between two besties having a lighthearted chat about their feelings for girls, to now a very intimate and quite emotionally vulnerable scene between them. 

removal of love interests: 

rose and scorpius’ dynamic is strictly friendship now with him only asking to be friends in which she still says no. that is a self explanatory change which results in no evidence of scorpius having romantic feelings for her. along with this, polly, another female love interest, is completely removed from this conversation. this takes away pretty much EVERY interaction scorpius has with a female interest in a ‘romantic’ way. 

now with albus; thank god no random mention of the older female professor ew. and no albus getting a girlfriend first. coincidently also removing all the lines referring to him having romantic feelings for female characters. without the statement of liking older women, it removes he emphasis on albus romantically having feeling for delphi in which we know was also changed in the scene with ginny and albus. 

now what does this do to the narrative and perception of these characters? when you remove the female love interests in this situation, it leaves a gap in the story. the gap being who do these characters now actually love?? and since this play is pretty much about ‘love can conquer all’, WHO ELSE ARE THEY MEANT TO PUT THESE FEELINGS OF LOVE ON TO OTHER THAN EACH OTHER???? you cannot deny that all these changes made are for the benefit of this relationship and puts a lot more emphasis on them and what they mean to each other. 

slight word changes: 

“marriage” to “allegiance” again relates to the removal of scorpius’ romantic feelings for female characters, completely taking away this whole part of the plot for him. like all he wants is to form a friendship with rose! platonic friends is what they are now. 

again removing “love” and changing it to “harmony” takes away the romantic feelings and just creates a nice friendship. but i do think its sooooo funny that they changed “love” to “harmony” because THAT would’ve been too far for them. as albus wants that palace with scorpius, having “love” would be confirming that they love each other. that can absolutely not happen. but aren’t they just kinda synonyms or am i stupid. also it wouldn’t be that controversial because they already used “love” as albus’ weakness WITH SCORPIUS IN THAT SCENE soooo… the creatives were just too scared to leave it the same. 

we also have the whole ‘in my head’ but we have gone through it in a previous post (https://www.tumblr.com/bawbawbridgie/748173064391557120/since-you-guys-were-begging-me-to-write-about-it?source=share). 

rose’s line is now changed to “if YOU TWO let it be weird”… WHY WOULD IT BE WEIRD???? firstly, he was only asking to be friends. and secondly, why would it be weird for albus? my boy didn’t do anything? it’s almost as if rose is implying something else? perhaps her finding out that something else is going on between them? mhmmm idk. reminder that rose is quite literally on the stage listening to this whole convo.

THAT line: 

i have so many thoughts on this line and what albus is getting at. is this albus’ way of admitting he has feelings for scorpius? is it albus ‘subtly’ trying to understand how his best friend feels about him by pushing the limits of their friendship and see how he’d react? is he asking him out? is he saying he loves him in his own way as he struggles with feelings? orrrr is it simply albus just asking him if rose, his cousin, is actually the one scorpius, his bestie, wants? this line is definitely up to how you all perceive it. for me, i personally feel it’s albus attempting to address delphi outing him because they never really expand on that moment, as well as attempting to push the boundaries of this friendship to see if scorpius wants more than this as well. 

i also find it amusing that albus says this after scorpius expresses he only wants “harmony” and an “eventual alligence” with rose. like scorpius hasn’t actually shown any romantic interest in rose so this means albus doesn’t even want him talking to her. god he’s obsessed with him.

THANK GOD FOR THE REMOVAL OF “SCORPION KING” COZ HOW DID SHE KNOW???? whatever moving on. her cute little line, “you good albus?” eeeeee i love her new role in this scene. she is just looking out for the happiness of her cousin in which i assume she knows about the two of them being more than besties. fr she is also a big scorbus shipper by the end of the play and we love her for that. 

why tf did the creatives do this?:

ughhhhh i do not know. i guess this was the closest they could get without actually confirming they are together?? idk. i do find it amusing to think about the creatives trying to rewrite this scene and how proud they would’ve been when they created this line. kudos to you jack thorne and john tiffany. but in general with the changes, i have so many thoughts and theories about why/when/how they did this which i would love to dive into but it deserves a whole post dedicated to itself.

but i think at the end of this scene/play, this relationship is open ended like there is no definite answer of what they are and can be interpreted however you’d like. and i genuinely really like this, it’s somehow comforting. one question that i still ask myself (which could be quite problematic but here we go) is: are they actually canon? i have so many thoughts about this and could definitely do a seperate post but put simply… sadly no. PLEASE DONT HATE ME I WANT THEM TO BE CANON BUT I CANNOT 100% SAY THEY ARE!!!! and i have my reasons… but that’s a whole different issue.

although we would all like a CLEAR confession/answer (to get us out of our misery), but they are only 14/15 and finding themselves so who knows, maybe at dinner they worked out what they are but i guess we will never know?? ok bye sorry for all that xx

Summary: Percy Jackson, now a young adult, lived a relatively quiet life after his many adventures as a demigod. He was in an interval of missions and taking advantage of the time in Camp Half-Blood. Then, one day, a series of events, or he would discover a secret that would change his life forever.

As incredible as it may seem, it was a calm day at Camp Half-Blood. The world wasn't about to be destroyed or anything like that. There were only young campers enjoying the summer and training as usual. Percy was happy to have some calm and peace, he was sitting with Annabeth by the sea and the two had planned a romantic picnic. Percy didn't remember the last time he was able to spend a calm moment with his girlfriend.

But well, he was Percy Jackson, peace and tranquility didn't suit him very much.

- Percy! Annabeth! Thank the gods I found you. – Will Solace came running out of breath, with a look on his face that something clearly wasn't quite right.

- What is it? Something happened? Monster? Anyone injured? – Annabeth already got up worried.

- Not exactly, it's Rachel, she... has a prophecy.

- Man, if I have to hear one more “great prophecy” I’m going to retire and live at the bottom of the sea. – Percy said, already indignant at the disapproving look that Annabeth gave him.

- It is not a “great prophecy”. – Will explained – Actually we don't know what prophecy it is, the Oracle demands to speak to you Percy.

Percy froze. That obviously couldn't be a good thing. Soon he and Annabeth were accompanying Will to the Big House where Rachel was sitting in a chair, surrounded by the flickering spirit of the Oracle of Delphi. Percy thought he would never get used to seeing his friend like this.

- Percy Jackson. – The Oracle's voice echoed throughout the room. - At high tide, the secret will be revealed, two sons of Poseidon, united by destiny. The sea will test their bond, and the fate of the demigods will depend on their union.

Rachel's head fell to the side, making her red hair cover her face, she used to get tired after prophecies but surprisingly she began to rise with difficulty from the chair.

- Rachel, be careful, you're still weak. – Said Chiron, who was watching everything from the corner of the room.

- Percy, are you okay? – Rachel asked.

- I'm the one asking you, it's not me who has a green spirit coming out of my mouth out of nowhere.

- Idiot, I'm fine. I'm referring to the prophecy.

- Another confused one... couldn't you have a chat with this spirit and see if it can be clearer?

- You know it doesn't work like that. – Rachel said, lightly punching Percy on the shoulder.

- So the prophecy is about me and Tyson, right? I will meet him at high tide, will we discover a secret that will save the demigods? Something like that?

- I don't think the prophecy is talking about Tyson... – Annabeth said.

- Annabeth, if another son of Poseidon existed, we would have noticed. – Chiron said.

- Yes, just as we perceive a son of Hades. – Annabeth wasn't sarcastic but it was obvious to her.

- You and Tyson have already been united by destiny before Percy, it has to be someone different. – Annabeth explained.

- I feel the same thing. – Rachel agreed.

And then first thing in the morning Percy was going into the sea, he knew it wouldn't be so easy to get help from his father. But he knew he could count on the ocean's help. He focused on the water, on the magical powers that could act on it. Maybe if this new demigod was manipulating the ocean in some way he would be able to feel it.

And he was right, he felt a slight tug, as if the current was telling him where to look, and soon he was letting himself be carried away by the current.

Percy follows the clues left by the water and arrives at a remote location, close to a vast and mysterious ocean. He feels an aura of aquatic power in the air and is determined to unlock the secret of the prophecy. As he walks along the beach, he notices a lone figure at the water's edge. The figure appears to be controlling the sea waves with ease.

As Percy approaches, he realizes that the figure is a young demigod, with dark hair and blue eyes, much like his own. The young man seems to be at peace with the ocean, as if it were a natural extension of it. Percy feels an immediate connection to this strange demigod, but he also realizes something is wrong. The aura of power around the boy is undeniable, but he looks tired and lost.

- Who are you? – Said the boy before Percy got closer.

He stood up and easily created a water trident in his hand.

- I'm extremely tired so if you're a monster I advise you not to irritate me now. – He seemed ready to attack if necessary.

- My name is Percy Jackson. I am a demigod, a son of Poseidon. And I don't think I need to explain the concept of this to you, apparently.

The boy looks into Percy's eyes, his own blue eyes reflecting recognition and shock.

- You are the famous Percy Jackson. I'm Y/N. I am also the son of Poseidon, the eldest son.

- Eldest? How is this possible?

- I was born before you, it's not very difficult to understand. – Y/N replied sarcastically.

- But we should have known about your existence, with everything that happened, with the danger of a son of the big three. How come we didn't know anything about you?

- When I was born, my mother didn't want me, she threw me into the sea and Poseidon dragged me to the bottom. I grew up underwater, raised by sea spirits. I was kept hidden during the Titan War.

- Couldn’t you never leave the sea? – Percy asked, imagining how difficult that must have been for the boy.

- No... but now something happened, they attacked my house in the ocean. I tried to ask Poseidon for help but he was of no use, I had no choice but to run away.

- Well then, big bro, it's time to find out together why fate brought us here.

At that moment, Percy notices that Y/N is slightly injured, although the sea water has already healed most of the injuries. Percy also notices the sadness in the boy's eyes, a loneliness he carries with him. He tries to get closer but Y/N shrinks back.

- Hey, is everything okay? – Percy asked.

- Yes... it's just that I'm not used to people. I lived basically alone. Poseidon visited me sometimes and the water spirits told me things. I always wanted to meet my famous brother. But I always thought I would be alone forever.

Percy realizes the depth of loneliness that Y/N has felt throughout  his life. He extends his hand again, but this time with more kindness and patience.

- You're not alone now, Y/N. We have a lot to learn from each other. Together, we can face whatever fate has in store for us and discover more about our heritage as children of Poseidon.

Y/N still feels a little hesitant, but manages a small smile.

- Thank you, Percy. I never imagined this was possible. I look forward to this journey alongside you.

Days later...

Percy and Y/N are in Cabin 3 at Camp Half-Blood, they spent the whole night talking about the mission they would have together, about the prophecy received. Percy could tell that Y/N was still surprised by everything that was happening, but he was getting used to the new reality, he had even made some friends in the Athena cabin.

He knew that Y/N's life had been extremely lonely and he couldn't imagine how difficult it must have been to spend so many years hiding at sea. Percy wanted to make sure that even though a mission had brought them together, now Y/N had a family.

- Y/N, I want you to know that you are not alone anymore. You have a family now, and I'm here for you. Forever. We are brothers, and that means we take care of each other no matter what.

- This means a lot to me, Percy. I don't know how to thank you for all this. – Y/N said, feeling moved by Percy's words.

- No need to thank, big bro. We are on this journey together, and we will face everything head on. No matter what fate has in store for us, our brotherhood is unbreakable.

- Thanks, Percy. I look forward to facing what lies ahead with you by my side. – Y/N says with a smile.

Percy and Y/N share a moment of understanding and unity, strengthening their bond as brothers. Percy wants to make it clear that Y/N no longer needs to carry the loneliness that haunted him, because now he has a family that will support and care for him at all times.

1) the joker — killed her parents in front of her. attempted to kill her but only affected her right eye.

that’s why it’s orange. injury + seeing a gruesome scene in front of her gave her abilities. so joker is the reason of her powers.

at first he doesn’t care about her. but got annoyed after he kept messing up his plans so he constantly tried to harm her. || the joker realised he cannot harm her, he attacks her friends; cori and ani. in the end ani dies || and morgan close enough to kill him. || months later she kills him as delphi and after that morgan would hallucinate him everytime she does something bad ||

2) alexis kaye / punchline — they are the same in everything; wants joker/harley to take them in, does ballet, parents dead, sadistic tendencies, good with knives. same coin but different sides? punchline tries to kill her for the joker. morgan tries to kill her because she’s just a nuisance. always fighting it’s like they’re flirting /hj

3) cassandra cain / batgirl — if alexis is similar to morgan, cass is the complete opposite of morgan, they contrast each other. from complex morals to character. chaos vs discipline. emotion vs. control. loud vs. quiet. (they do ballet but that’s similar but i just wanna add). cass as batgirl is all black meanwhile morgan is colourful. morgan relies on chat and her luck while cass is extremely skilled— morgan is unpredictable and cass relies on reading body language.

4) fish mooney — morgan’s groomer. || morgan kills fish after fish was forming a temporary alliance with the joker ||.

fish is the one who enhanced her abilities so she could use morgan’s precognition abilities / chat as she tries to become the next gotham kingpin. fish is the one who told her to change alias from quinni (it’s not like quinni is morgan’s choice tbh) to carnival. morgan got the alias delphi from fish.

anyway, fish acts sweet and gives her everything she needs while subtly controlling her (with and without using her powers). acts like she cares about morgan but in reality she just took morgan in because of the syndicate prophecy and to use morgan for her own plans. 👍 basically morgan wouldn’t exactly be morgan if she hadn’t met fish

Do you have any thoughts on Phoebe and Koios? I love that side of Apollo's family and was wondering 👀

I have never thought much about them because well, there's barely anything about them in the myths but now I do have some thoughts!

So Koios means "query" apparently (according to theoi.com), and add it to the fact that Phoebe is very knowledgeable due to her prophetic powers. Imagine Koios having all sorts of fun and interesting questions for her and Phoebe loves nothing more than answering them and seeing satisfaction spread on Koios' face and that's how they fall in love. They both would be the nerdy couple of the Titans' generation lol. And if course Phoebe would definitely be heartbroken when Koios was banished to Tartarus. But there are versions where Zeus released some Titans, including Koios, so maybe it isn't that much of a tragic tale for them after all.

Theoi.com also says Koios possibly was the Titan of the north pillar of the world. There are no sources cited for this but hey, it can make way for some fun headcanons because you know what lays beyond the north? Hyperborea, which Apollo regularly visited! So did Artemis and Leto occasionally. The twins can have a little chit chat with their gramps before flying off to Hyperborea, as a treat <3 and Phoebe absolutely loves and dotes on her grandkids!! my hc is that Leto named her unborn children Phoebus and Phoebe after her mother (don't ask how she knew the gender-) it's very fitting especially if you consider the version where Phoebe gifts the oracle of Delphi to little Apollo 🥺

It's also very interesting that both the Titans are associated with knowledge, and all of that passed on to Apollo clearly. I had read in a paper a while back where the author wrote how Koios represented the knowledge of the sky while Phoebe represented the knowledge of the earth, and Apollo inherited the knowledge coming from both the sources. This may not have solid evidence in the myths, but I like to think that Apollo inherited qualities from both his grandparents. The prophetic ability from Phoebe and his inquisitive nature from Koios (hence why he is multi-talented, he always seeks to learn something new). Wobbles met First Aid a few appointments after their little incident. They chatted with the new nurse as he helped them with their servo movements and digut reflexes. The two got along quite well.

So we'll that Wobbles eventually started seeking out First Aid for hang outs and activities. It wouldn't be too long before the pair had decided to form the Amica rites. Just in time too, it would be another month before Wobbles was sent off to a space station to decipher and translate some old Cybertronian text.

Wobbles met Ambulon after they got stationed at Delphi.

Some patients there had limited speech to normal Neo Cybex, so Wobbles was called. First Aid was overjoyed to see Wobbles was alive and still wobbly. He introduced Ambulon to them.

It was from that day that First Aid saw the little sparks flying from Wobbles and Ambulon.
