looking through lists of south african movies on letterboxd to log the ones I've seen and remembered that leon schuster is a guy that exists, and not only that but many people consider him a national treasure, and now i want to blow things up with my mind

so for hugo's bike, with it being steam-powered (look at him and his kingdom, theres no way it isnt), there's likely an alternative to coal he uses. the boiler would use some sort of concoction instead of coal as a heat source (side note, we're working with this with the prerequisite that this is a fantastical world, so the boiler fucking exploding isnt as big of a risk- and eco-friendly and relatively safe alternatives to coal exist)

enter varian and his creation of Flynnolium right. the stuff he made to heat up the boilers under corona which eventually lead it to be the first kingdom with a running hot water system (beating the industrial kingdom, apparently). the stuff is POTENT. so the idea here is, after giving the bike some excitable and genuine praise, for varian to suggest adding it to hugo's steam cycle- to which hugo vehemently refuses. why would he use something that could blow up his bike AND named after flynn rider of all things (its mostly the latter, lets be real)

(btw this is all in hugo's kingdom, i think hugo keeps his bike around that area and never too far outside of it)

so fast forward later. lets say theres a chase happening in his kingdom. lots of fun shots with hugo zipping around expertly through the twisted streets (and even rooftops) of his kingdom. but whatever is chasing them is keeping a steady pace so varian, again and again, is telling hugo we have GOT to use the flynnolium. they argue a little, mostly hugo refusing more and more stubbornly. but finally he literally has to give in bc theyre getting dangerously close to getting caught so after another yell from varian, he just lets out a dramatic groan and leans over and whispers to his bike something like "im sorry" and tells varian to do it. and naturally this makes the bike go fucking fast. it helps them get out of there AND ! it doesnt explode. isnt that fun. after that hugo has to swallow his stubborn pride and admit its a really, really good component for the steam cycle (but, yknow, maybe consider renaming it)

it interests me that ive seen the opinion that dycedarg was as responsible for tietras death, if not moreso, as zalbaag was, because i think he was solidly negligent at the worst and we should give zalbaag more agency in his horrible actions sometimes. dycedarg has plenty already he doesnt need to shoulder the few decisions zalbaag actually makes independently of him. at the time ziekden occurred dycedarg was severely wounded and bedridden, and if anything shows a complete lack of remembrance for tietras existence the way he only remembers to go "oh yeah yeah its fine. its so fine" when ramza pushes. that doesnt translate to "signed off on tietras death", that translates to "probably forgot tietra was even a factor, didnt mention it to zalbaag, and zalbaag made the executive decision to shoot her when it came to it", yknow? its not like the running assumption isnt something like this, but the general treatment of the situation is as if dycedarg directly collaborated with zalbaag on ordering tietra shot, or was otherwise completely responsible for it - as the characters seem to believe he's responsible for everything zalbaag does - when this really isnt very likely so much as him being just plain negligent. as far as the rest of the game goes, its busy showing us that despite the characters believing dycedarg and zalbaag are always in cahoots, what actually happens is that they work against eachother constantly - dycedarg orchestrates the war of the lions with zalbaag completely unawares, zalbaag secretly 'orders' ramza and delita to dorter, resulting in the ruination of dycedargs plot to kill the marquis, so on, so forth. i dont see why the instance with tietra should be any different - its ambiguous for the rest of the game, since the game honestly seems to forget that zalbaag was even AT ziekden, nevermind that he ordered argath to shoot at tietra, but i find it very unlikely that dycedarg had any real hand in tietras death. it was zalbaags choice to kill her, in the end, and at the worst dycedarg probably just forgot she was even in the equation.

i think zalbaag should get the full blame for his own actions, in this instance. its zalbaag who looks at the girl he was so peppy with when first we saw them both and says her presence changes nothing, and its zalbaag who tells argath to shoot, and its zalbaag who rushes off afterwards without a second thought. we dont even know how dycedarg reacted to any of this lmao. zalbaag comes home from ziekden and ramza, delita and tietra never do. that must have been a fun one for zalbaag to explain. dycedarg was probably pissed. not specifically because tietra died, we'll never really know what dycedarg actually felt about her whether or not you choose to believe him when he says she's like a sister - but considering how much of a fucking disaster it all was, dycedarg was probably pissed! i understand the discrepancy since the game itself doesnt even really blame zalbaag for his shitty decisions, it blames the child soldier he was commanding and also kind of blames dycedarg (even if im actively arguing dycedarg probably didnt have anything to do with things going really badly just this one time). but like. this is a moment of zalbaag sucking on his own terms with no interference we can really attest to in any meaningful or doubtless way, so i think it should be treated like that more often. dycedarg isnt blameless here but i highly doubt he gave any direct input on tietras involvement at ziekden considering he doesnt even seem to remember that she was kidnapped (slash exists) when ramza speaks to him. especially because dycedarg was still bedridden that too. how much cartoonishly evil plotting and scheming can he really do when he's cosy in bed? exactly.

netflix avatar episode 3!!!

my lil thoughts and feelings :)

So episode 3, at this point they're mashing like 5 episodes together, which to be fair, they are doing a pretty good job at, considering. but some of the details get lost dont they

the mail system doesnt get introduced properly, no bumi foreshadowing and now the gliding doesnt even make sense. in the show proper they could glide freely due to the strange air currents happening around the air temple... yknow... cuz it was an air temple. strange air is expected. but how can he still do that... in omashu...?

that said i really liked zuko and aangs fight, it had very good use of the environment and it got out of hand because zuko lost his temper, as is in character for book one(and well every other one too, but book one the most) zuko.

weirdly enough the episode mash, although missing a lot of detail went pretty well, the way they mash them together is pretty creative

"we dont have time for iroh to be relaxing in some springs so we will have his kidnapping be done in this way" and so on. its nice to see how creative they can get with it :)

i like that they introduce revolts inside the fire nation, makes the entire country be more simpathetic right away instead of waiting for book 3

azula and ozai are pretty neat, but i dont understand why are they introducing them this early. i'm a bit afraid they will make them an active threat in this season already.

also why are azula and zuko pitted against each other like this, i thought it was universal that zuko was very clearly NOT the favourite child.

while im speaking of ozai and azula, the throneroom scene made the air nomad genocide that much more pathetic. mans just scorched like 10 guys no problem with bigass flames, why did the COMET EMPOWERED mfs have they flames be smaller? you sure the comet doesnt take away their power???

im going to take this time to talk about zuko's scar and well... i think it should be bigger, or at least more hand shaped(though to be fair he couldve gotten it a different way than in the cartoon i guess ill just have to wait and see), i mean, animated zuko didnt have an eyebrow, almost didnt have an ear and this guy just sorta has a splash of red on him i suppose. sure its better than the m night one but still, could be better.

i know i compare it to the cartoon a lot but i have to say so far i really like it, the comparison is purely there because it makes it easier to write about. so far it stands very nicely as its own thing. like i can see someone watching it on its own without seeing the show first and liking it, there are no grievous immersion breaking character assassinations as far as i can see(aside from granny exposition) so i think its doing a pretty good job :)

First of all, anon, chill and even though, i think i and many people already explained enough (for example; this post) why they think this way but since i am bored, here we go again.

I think at this point in story its not even about my or your thoughts anymore. Its what story and plot showed. I dont know what author needs to show, especially after writing 'my villain academia' and 'war' arc.

Why i think they are revolutionary?

I think this one scene itself shows many things. That Shigaraki is causing a dramatic change that involves politic revolution. In BNHA, a lot of sentences main characters used for theme of story and its purposely written for audience to question this. Story showed many times that hero society has its flaws and heroes are not doing anything about it. And Shigaraki with his tiny group are challenging that mindset. AGAIN, their ways are wrong, obviously cause they are killing people but they are the one who made that dramatic start and Izuku and hero friends will also make it continue, most likely.

Anon, this is not something fans made up. And most 'villain stans' dont even care their fave is revolutionary or activist or not, there are many people who just enjoy characters even they are 'evil'. Character doesnt have to fight or involve with world issues to be loved.

Also, are you new in this blog, anon? Because i already said i am not 'hero' or 'villain' stan because of the definition of 'villain' and 'hero'.

Villain in stories means that someone who opposes heroes or criminal or someone who is actually bad.

But isnt word itself involving a lot of people/characters by its definiton? If 'villain' means criminal, does every person who cause crime is 'bad', even though thats not possible for anyone so are you gonna decide that they are evil or not, depend on the damage of they caused, without ever looking at their past? Because believe or not, accept or not, past matters and affects people. I understand, especially for people who live righteous life, it might realy hard to empathize with others who made mistakes but yknow what? Never say something like 'i would never do this' because you never know what life brings to you.

Also, villains in stories can get redemption which means they wil make effort to change, if villains are just 'bad people in core', then why would they ever change though? Why people in real life even change at first place? If they can change, why they are 'villains at first place? Why someone villains change while other never even consider changing? And why 'change' is meaningfull.

And also the 'hero' word. First of all, heroes in stories might just be called like that cause they are simply main character or they might be actually hero.

But what makes someone hero though? Simply being good person that never make any mistakes? Is it even possible though? Or saving people? Or simply being good person? But what if that person saves people for selfish reasons, like fame or money etc? So to be able to be hero, do you have to be %100 selfless that every time you save someone, you never expect anything in return? Is it even possible thet never thinking yourself? Lets say, its possible, isnt it so bad for person to think about theirselves? Someone who self destrcuts is really doing this for kindness or they cope their trauma? Cant people think about others while also thinking about theirselves?

Do you think that Izuku is so kinder than characters like Ochaco because he was ready to kill himself for others? The factt that he is gonna take things that far, is it really because he is so kind or simply because has NO self worth?

All those hero-villain thing is worth to consider.

Its also ironic that people, especially bnha fans still question this. Like, 'What is the hero?' is one of the main theme in BNHA. It also showed the tiny line between heroes and villains can break for anyone.

How much do you know about real life victims and their mindset though or did you just met every victim in the world and read their mindset somehow? To be able to seen as 'victims' by you, do they have be completely pure defendless babies, somehow still being strong in any sitution?.....

I know that there are a lot of characters who is presented like this by media but well, thats not how real life works. Victims in real life are more gray than you could ever think, they are not your uwu baby that exist to gain your so precious pity. They are just humans.

One of the reasons i love BNHA is how realisticly written abuse victims are, its feel more realistic and that makes them more human. And the more human character is the more relatable they become for audience.

Not to mention that all those 'heroes' and 'villains' characters are just written by someone (a human being) means it can be bad writing or simply uninteresting for readers which is why writing criticism exists.

There are so many different type of 'hero' and 'vilain' character that you cant even put them all under same title because they are so different. Even though, i understand what you mean, anon about how people fall for every sob story' because someone people just dont or dont like to think that deep. Sometimes, i also feel some backstories are oof because it seems they ae only there to gain sempathy from audience and thats it. I cant talk for everyone's instead but for me, i just look at characters and try to analyze them to understand better or read other people's analysis to see what i might be missing about that character.

I think someone can be both seen as victim who deserves to be healing and criminal who needs to be punished for doing bad things at the same time. And someone making effort for changing always matters and i think thats trying to be best version of yourself is what makes someone 'good person'.

Anyway, i really hope that i am able to explain my thoughts well to readers with this post.

ok so i was thinking abt the main ln kids as that “brains, brawn and heart” thing or however it goes (idk but i also dont care and its too late anyways) and i realised i could never put each of them in just one bc they all have a little of each so as fun as it is to stuff things into boxes (figuratively and literally) today i will be doing not that and analyzing the ln kids once again! by urs truly <3 (all based on my own characterization! i wont be doing rcg but?? idk maybe later?? sometime??) (also ln, vln, and ln2 spoilers)

my first thought for six was brain which makes sense. it’s stated in all sorts of official media that she’s insanely clever, especially for her age might i add.  she navigates the entirety of the maw on her own, facing brutal monsters that want her dead, solving puzzles and doing a whole ton of dirty work. she’s clearly adapted to this world as well, and doesn’t break easily. shes strong too. physically and mentally. theres an astounding amount of things she has to go through, keeping in mind that this world was not made for her in mind at all. everything around her is huge, and on top of that shes basically considered vermin. but she surpasses everyones expectations with her skills, and escapes the maw alive; harmed certainly, but alive. and i was going to start this with heart is what she’s lacking, but that’s worded horribly and just .. wrong. she has tons of heart, she just doesnt really. like it. and so she deals with it differently; she pushes it down. that’s not always easy though. sometimes she lets her guard down. in vln, she helps out rcg, even if that ends horribly, her heart was in the right place. throughout the first game, she hugs nomes, and provides them a source of light and warmth. and in ln2, she becomes attached to mono possibly more than she’s ever been to anyone else. even if it wasn’t her intent, she definitely grows to care for him atleast a little; but survive is still her top priority, and always will be (as it should be tbh). we see this at the beginning when they meet; the moment mono provides an exit and shows he isn’t a threat, six bolts, and only allows him nearby when she realises he can help her. this situation ends in defeat because before she knows it, they’ve been through all of it together, and they’re friends. .. but still she pushes it down. because getting attached could be dangerous. she’s independent, strong and clever, and anyone who can’t match her wit is weak to her, and could slow her down. and even if she’s right, what she doesn’t know is that it will hurt anyways. she tries so hard not to get attached but it doesn’t always work, and pretending those feelings aren’t there only ends up hurting more than she thinks, and it will keep hurting again and again and again. as for mono, i thought he’d fit in brawn. he’s definitely the strongest of them (not to say the others aren’t strong of course), again both mentally and physically. he’s born naturally with a decent amount of strength, and like i believe i said before, you have to be strong to survive this world for long, or yknow, at all. he’s good at facing danger upfront, using tools to his advantage. mentally, he definitely worries a lot, but he also does his best to stay on the positive side of things and look for the silver lining, and help others lean towards that track too; even if they dont want it, cough cough. that’s where heart comes in. he’s got a lot of that, and isn’t very afraid to show it. having someone to protect gives him a purpose, and a feeling of fulfillment; again, even if that someone doesnt want/need it.  his big heart helps him gain allies, friends even, but his need to protect can get in the way of his own survival as well. even if he’s doing the right thing, that doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous. counterpoint, like i said, having someone to protect gives him purpose; it gives him a reason to stay alive and really do his best. it’s a huge motivation for him, which is why he can easily get attached to others. as for brain, he’s also insanely clever, and is especially crafty with tools, in a similar way six is crafty with her environment, which is one of the many reasons they make a great team. onto rk! the reason i ended up with brain for six and brawn for mono is actually because i immediately thought of rk as heart; and he is. he��s kind, and very willing to help out, but he isn’t a doormat either. he’s emotionally clever and very in-tune with his own thoughts, and has a great amount of determination (hence his name/title, duh). he’s willing to give everyone a chance but knows boundaries and limitations too; there’s no manipulating or tricking him. he can tell when he’s gone too far, or when others have, and can befriend almost anyone; although that doesn’t mean he will. if someone is rude, or just doesn’t want anything to do with him, he’s aware of that and will likely return the feeling. he won’t really push (mono on the other hand definitely will, which can be both a positive and negative trait).  he definitely isn’t the strongest, but again, say it with me, you have to be strong to survive in this world, mentally and physically. no amount of just heart or brains can get you out alive, even if it gets you far. although it’s not like there’s an escape at all, i suppose. while the ln world wasn’t always the way it is, it really does seem like there’s no turning back. this world is twisted and that’s just how it is now, sometimes not even strength, or all 3 traits i’ve mentioned, can get you “out” alive. rk knows firsthand.

SO I’ve been doing a lot of digging into what dream has said in his response to Geosquare’s original video and report, which was compiled and conducted by the Minecraft Java mods on speedrun.com. 

I won’t talk about that original report in detail, but basically: the mods came to the conclusion that Dream had a 1 in 7.5 trillion chance of getting the pearl bartering rates and the blaze drop odds that he did within the 6 streams he did. As in, someone would need that luck to replicate what dream got. Therefore, he cheated. 

I’m going to put this into a sort of ‘point form’ in according to topic, attempting to put it in chronological order.

Dream’s Initial Tweets

Ok so first like. these are bad. these tweets are what he said (on twitter, excluding in the speedrunning discord) directly after the video was Uploaded to Geo’s channel. 

worth noting he did apologize later, although i wanted to talk about these two instances so i felt the need to include it. 

there’s a lot of interesting wording in the apology tweet itself too. I personally find that when he apologizes he tends to still be very subtextually angry in them with the tone, but more specifically. where he says ‘although i have reason to be upset’, that’s kinda weak and really unneeded. Alongside the ‘intense criticism’, it reads as him trying to say he’s still in the right. kind of like “im sorry i was rude even though I had reason to be rude’. Its an apology sure but he’s not saying sorry for how he really reacted; its justified to him.

Dream’s Response Video

Dream posted a response on his side channel DreamXD on the 22nd, along with the report he had a supposed astrophysicist conduct. I’m going to talk about the report separately from the video for reasons I’ll explain. 

Frankly, the video doesn’t really summarize or explain the report in a meaningful way. At most, it takes some points from it but tends to twist the numbers around, misunderstand the probability and math, and also what the report itself concludes. 

Essentially, dream’s video insists that the numbers found by the mods are wrong and therefore he didn’t cheat at all, yet the report concludes that the numbers found by the mods weren’t entirely accurate, however they’re still extremely unlikely. This is also all under the assumption that the report is entirely correct (ill say how its not next)

His first point is that only his 1.16 run (that was at 5th place two months ago, would have now been 16th) was deemed cheated. This is true; the mods have said that he isnt banned outright and theres no reason to question the legitimacy of his 1.15 runs. 

He also concludes that Geo’s statement that Dream didn’t cooperate with them, and that he deleted 1.16 mod folders, was false. This one is a little more complicated. It could more be chalked up to a miscommunication, although it’s relevant. Geosquare posted screenshots of the specific conversation they had:

Essentially it wasn’t entirely clear, i can understand how geo and the mods interpreted it in such a way. Altho April added in a quote retweet thread that dream didn’t supply the folder she asked for, so he didn’t supply everything they asked for like he states in the video

Essentially: yeah, misleading and weird on both ends. I dont think this is really anything quantifiable, although dream talked about this in the video heavily. 

Out of this though, Geo DID correct himself in the description of the mods’ video. Dream shows this in his own response, but it crops out some of what geo says. here’s from dream’s video

that Update 2 is where he corrects himself. literally why the fuck would you crop it like this and put it in the video i mean this looks so weird and genuinely doesnt provide anything. Here’s what geo actually said

Dream specifically cut it before the line where geo mentions how he said he deleted his specific 1.16 speedrun profile. This one is just so dumb to me. I’d say ‘why not include that’ but either i feel its a) so there’s no potential for people to say what he had actually said could be interpreted otherwise easily or b) doesnt want people to know he got so upset he deleted files (ego wise yknow). Again, I dont think this is definitive of anything but god. it feels scummy lmao

The Video: Incorrect Representation of His Own Report

Dream straight up doesnt present the report’s numbers properly. In fact it makes the entirety of his visuals forfeit, i.e. the gold block analogy that goes on for like 20 minutes. 

The mods said his luck was 1/7.5 trillion. Dream’s report says its 1/10 million (with the addition of 5 other streams) or 1/100 million (only the 6 streams).

I’ll only consider the 1/10 mil odds, since its all dream really brings up. but Basically; there’s not much difference between 1/10 million and 1/7.5 trillion. 

Dream says that the difference is 7.5 trillion minus 10 million, aka 7.4999 trillion. This is what his entire visual with the gold blocks is based on. This is absolutely incorrect, i cant stress that enough. 

You can’t find the difference of fractions by subtracting only the denominators. Like. this is elementary school math. it just doesnt work. 

It’d actually be calculated as: (1/10 000 000) - (1/7 500 000 000 000) = (74999/7 500 000 000 000)

If the mods are wrong, they’re only wrong by 749999/7.5 trillion. that’s literally only  0.000000099999866666667. 

Dream no doubt saw the numbers, considered 10 million vs. 7.5 trillion, and used these big numbers to hold his own point. PROBABILITY DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT. I really think he was just taking advantage of the seemingly big numbers here and wrote it out in a way that favoured him. The gold block analogy in the video played throughout the entire video practically, jokes were made on it, and he made a point of it being ‘so big the game crashed’. 

It’s just plain wrong. even so a difference in the odds doesnt prove shit. He’s downplaying his own odds that he found too. 1/10 million isnt a small number. Even though the legitimacy of that calculation is in question, it is still significant enough to proclaim he cheated. 

Some quick points before I move onto the report; these aren’t as significant in my eyes but it adds to the picture

there’s been criticism of his joking manor throughout the entire video, very specifically the Bill Nye joke. Considering he doesnt actually have a name to provide for his astrophysicist, this joke doesnt feel right

the mod he had a voice clip from (willz) even believes that he cheated and has agreed with the mod team the whole time. 

Dream never has a name for the mod who is apparently on his side (more understandable), the minecraft developer he quoted, or the astrophysicist (most damning)

Dream states that fabric is used by most speedrunners which is true, but fabric and fabric API are different; dream also had the latter installed. my knowledge of how theyre different is limited, all i really know is the API is what can enable editing of the code while fabric is more a modloader. im not entirely sure on this

Dream has said at the end of the video that all funds will go to the mod team so they can make a client that will regulate cheaters. this has been noted as feeling manipulative or like a ‘bribe’, but it definitely puts the mods in a bad position. 

either they accept it and look like they ‘gave in’ to dream and therefore acknowledge him in the right

they deny it and look selfish/taking dream’s kindness for granted

geo said they would insist it goes to a charity instead

Dream constantly disregards the mods as young, inexperienced, ‘just volunteers’ etcetcetc, despite the fact that theyre analysis has been discussed by people with confirmed PhDs without much criticism

Dream’s Report

The report itself is extremely interesting, in that it’s very questionable, but even so it doesn’t come to the conclusion that dream didn’t cheat. The tone between the video and the report is drastically different. 

This is from the “3. What are the goals of this document?” section:

It essentially says this isnt intended, from the very beginning, to completely exonerate dream of cheating. Also note that the author says the mods’ report was mostly correct. 

This is at the end of “9 Conclussions”:

It does notably say cheating isnt the only explanation, but it doesnt actually go as far to say that it’s not possible that he cheated. 

But this can be argued to not matter if we consider the validity of the report as a whole

Dream’s Report: Criticisms

Possibly the first and most known debunking of the report is by u/mfb on reddit, although there’s been much more such as this programmer criticizing the code provided at the end of the report (partially due to how the author of it stated that piglins barter 4-7 pearls, which is incorrect: it’s 4-8), Andrew Gelman, an actual statistician professor from harvard, commented on the original mods’ report as ‘impressive’ while Dream’s report is being regarded as something funny in the comments, and even analysis of dream’s behaviours and his argument by a law student

But what u/mfb posted is what i’ll focus on. Some background into the user; he’s a particle physicist, is moderator in subreddits like r/cosmology and r/astrophysics, he’s regarded as a reliable source on r/askscience and r/askreddit. Basically, multiple other people have vouched for him and before all this he had many posts in these fields. 

that’s already better than the unnamed astrophysicist. 

The post is better speaking for itself but here is a few exerpts from it;

Essentially, the report’s methods are debunked by u/mfb-, alongside that a moderator of r/statistics regarded the report as ‘nonsensical in its application of statistics’ and linked to u/mfb-’s comment. 

i’m going to end this here. Partially because severe backpain or whatever,.

but I want to say at this point its practically definitive that dream cheated, that he lied to us, and that he continues to do so. Much more could be said on his video such as his tone, intentions, the overt emphasis on the ‘biases’ of the mods. 

I havent even mentioned that the ‘astrophysicist’ themself may be a scam; they are sourced from a website that is extremely sketchy, has no names attached to it, and was created less than a year ago (with practically no traffic on it until maybe a month ago). 

But i hope this is coherent. I have interest in this so if theres questions im always open.

Brown eyes flutter open at the chilly breeze of a fan, and the ravenette’s mind comes to realize that he’s been moved from resting on his stomach to laying on his back. Groggy from his much too short nap, it takes a few moments to realize there are no warm bodies near him or under him, no breathing or chatter of familiar voices to sooth him.

The room, he realizes, is empty.

The room itself is, in fact, not Remy’s bedroom at all.

Shooting straight up, Virgil’s first clear thought is that he’s back at home. At his apartment, this time in his hoodie yet still roughed up from his latest ‘adventure’. The scene is eerily familiar, and yet he knows this time that work is not where he needs to be. It’s already daylight and his mind now knows this familiar scene, he should feel alone. Yet, this time he can hear the sound of honking cars and people, his loud neighbor from upstairs stomping around.

It doesn’t make sense as he walks to his window and peers out to see vague cars and people, he can’t even seem to make out any individual faces. It’s grey and raining outside, but there is no pattering sound against the foggy window. ‘What’s happening?’ Virgil wonders.

“Life seemed so simple a week ago, even months ago, did it not..?” A familiar voice drifts from behind him. Ice cold fear shoots down the ravenette’s spine as he recognizes the voice.

“I can hardly believe you were able to leave it, your routine. It was your everything, back when you came to terms with what you had left. Am I wrong, Virgil?” Whirling around to face the voice, Virgil finds the terrifying ex-Guardian sitting on his couch looking quite at home, if a little sheepish.

“What do you care?” He spat back, stepping back against his window.

“I am only looking out for you, you know. I have been protecting you all your life. Of all people I think I would know what is best for you, don't you think? We are connected after all, you and I.” The man sighed, making a surrendering motion with his hands.

“Why would I trust you?! You tried to kill me yesterday!” Virgil growled. “Why--h-how are you even here!?”

“False, my dear Virgil. I tried to warn you. Sure,” The guardian rolled his hand as he spoke, “I am forced to have a round-about way of speaking my truths, it is just part of my consequences it seems. But how else was I going to get you to listen to me after the others fed you lies about me? I do sincerely apologize for my other half being rough, though. I cannot quite.. Control.. Him.” The guardian tilted his bowler hat down to guiltily hide his eyes, regret briefly twisting his expression.

Finally the Guardian stood, dusting himself off as if his immaculate attire had acquired dust from just existing in his apartment. “I needed my physical body to reach yours and make our soul connection strong again, so that my soul could reach yours. However.. The pain I caused you was far from my intention. I am deeply regretful that it came down to.. That awful encounter.

“To answer your question though, Virgil, I am here because I created ‘here’. A realm made to form this illusion of being home, sweet home, just on the corner of the little street you had come to live on for the past year. It is all my doing. Where you stand is simply an illusion only you and I can access, a manipulation of your dreams and memories. The only place where the real me can talk to you mostly unhindered.” The guardian gestured to his surroundings.

“It takes only one person to flip your life on it’s head, a matter of hours to make the decision of a lifetime, and a matter of days to have completely changed your life’s direction,” He turned to Virgil, and looked him straight in the eyes, feeling distant and lost.

“And only a matter of years to succumb to the depression of the lonely consequences..”

Virgil blinked at that. The sad, longing tone had him thrown for a loop; it almost felt like the Guardian wasn't even quite talking to Virgil. “I-What..? I.. I don’t understand.”

The Guardian shook his head, snapping out of it and refocusing himself. "Nevermind that. It is time I talked to you for real, if you will have me?" The Guardian held out a hand politely, though there was no real expectation for Virgil to take it.

After a pause, Virgil gave a slight nod, still suspicious of the other's intent. The Guardian returned the nod, and his hand fell to his side.

“I am limited to the time that you rest and for now I will not be able to explain myself thoroughly, so, I ask you to understand that I do not expect you to trust me when I am done. I honestly do not expect you to ever trust me. With the mistakes I have made, I firmly believe I would not deserve it.”

Virgil blinked in surprise, not having expected his captor to admit to his faults straight off the bat.

“Okay.. Well, we’re here, might as well hear your side of the story. So.. Shoot.” Virgil said lightly, distrust and suspicion still evident in his tone and stance.

“I would assume at this point you are well aware of how the story you have been told paints me as the villain, a mastermind seeking power, immortality, and revenge? At least, that is what I am led to believe is still the story, it has been many years since I have heard the tale first hand… And... Well. Would that not be so lovely?” Virgil made a face, eyes narrowing in confusion.

“I am serious. Life would be so much easier if it was all black and white, true or false, good and bad, would it not? If those who meant well knew everything and those malicious few could not corrupt anything?” The Guardian frowned a bit, frustrated with his words that couldn’t seem to cooperate with him.

“Would it not be lovely if I could talk to you without fighting to keep from turning every honest thought into a question or theoretical statement just to let it be said? That my words could hold a meaning not forcibly disguised in the forms of fables and riddles?” The Guardian looked down lamely, his words tapering off in agitation. For a moment, Virgil waited as the Guardian was silent, contemplative. Then, the next moment the Guardian’s face scrunched up in sadness and his words were soft as he placed a hand over his golden wrist markings.

“My story is complicated, and twisted with shades of grey. One could say what I did was an attempt to keep you safe, another could say that what I did was outlandish and impulsive, and stupid. But no one will be able to tell you that what I did went according to the plan I had... at first. No one will tell you that my intention was to save you, to keep your fate safe. No one will tell you that my plan was ruined. Because there is no longer anyone who remembers what happened that night except for me,”

The Guardian’s eyes flicked up to meet the ravenette’s, a hurt look passing over his face as he continued. His steady voice now just barely trembled with uncertainty as he continued.

“No one but me and the soul who wants so desperately for everyone to forget. The soul who ripped my own in two to bury the secret, and ruin you and I both.”

“My final warning is this: Beware of the man who carries the world on his shoulders unflinchingly, he will be watching you closely. You have immunity to his power thanks to our connection, you might use this knowledge well to find the truth that lies in plain sight. However, your fate lies in the decisions you chose to make with this knowledge, I can only warn you of what might come.” The Guardian nodded solemnly, choosing to finish his cryptic warning there.

Virgil stood there, reeling with the information. Sure, he definitely wasn’t completely convinced he could trust this cryptic stranger, Guardian? Foe? Friend? Virgil wasn’t really sure what to call him anymore. But damn, his life was already so fucking crazy, this was all just fucking crazy! He could just be dreaming for all he knew.

But… Deep inside, he was hoping he wasn’t.

This was, well. This wasn’t what he’d been expecting to hear when facing the man whose, er, body? Had originally tried to strangle him? Now he’d heard his sob story and, well, Virgil wasn’t that easy to fool, but he’d also been told that it wasn’t expected that he’d trust the guy even in the end and he didn’t really want to.

He’d been on the path to death for so long, and then just two days ago everything had changed. So much was happening, it was frankly exhausting. What the fuck was he, some book protagonist? Couldn’t he get a little time to think about all this before he went crazy?

Still, something under all his incredulity begged to hear the guardian out. He vaguely wondered how Stockholm Syndrome worked before he gave in a little. What difference did a little more crazy make in his life at this point?

“Fine, I’ll heed your warning, or whatever the fuck. But only if you can tell me what you mean when you said that this guy ripped your, uh, soul? In two.” Virgil huffed, partially relaxing. It was odd how comforting he found it to be, floating in this weird feeling imaginary world, where he could interact with objects that weren’t real. It felt like he was really standing in his home, and yet it was just built from memory.

The guardian’s solemn expression formed into a grim smile, eyes distant once more before nodding. “I will do the best that my words will allow.” Virgil nodded, and waited for the now very familiar stranger to gather his words and take a breath. Then he began, his markings lightly flashing gold.

“You find yourself whole one day, as you have always been. To be whole of body, whole of mind, both human and guardian in nature. To have conscious thought and control over your whole physical being and soul..

“You find that yourself and others of the winged variety are capable of separating your soul from your being, though only the most Elite can do it well. You find out the family you made would soon be in danger. You then find yourself lost and alone when you once had a home to call your own.

“You find yourself knowing a truth, a perilous truth. Your home is in shambles now that you are gone, yet they do not know it. This truth is at fault, but the blame is not fully your own in a world built on lies.

“The source of truth tucks itself into blankets of grey, drawing itself further from discovery with each passing day. Now only you know the truth. The source of the truth finds you, it seeks to hide you too.

“You find yourself split one day, as you have never been before. Forced apart from the body, trapped within the mind. Guardian in nature, to have conscious thought and your dying soul trapped within, a false mind piloting the puppeteered confines of a broken body with a blind goal.”

“You find you cannot control what you used to, you are a prisoner to a body that is no longer your own, mostly unconscious to the world around it. Crazed by the false emotions that fuel it.”

“The you that used to be is no longer, and has not been for over a hundred years. The world that knew you knows not of what you’ve become. Knows not of the shackles that bind you.

“The you that used to be is no longer, and will never be again.” The Guardian finished, hesitant yellow eyes meeting Virgil’s carefully. Phantom goosebumps trail down Virgil's arms as the final sentence strikes a cord in him.

Virgil found he really wasn’t quite sure how to respond to that, the rawness in the other’s tone spoke volumes of the sore spot they’d reached.

“Your body rests, but your mind also needs time to process today. I shall see you when you next rest, though only if you wish to seek me. Rest well knowing that you will not be scooped from your safety once more, as I hope I’m never to do so again. And...” The guardian paused, considering their next words very carefully.

“I know it is selfish to ask... but, I hope and wish that Thomas is alright, after all this time... Do take care of him, would you?”

Virgil paused and stared, finding only concern and longing in the guardian’s expression. And, well, fuck. What a way to pull at a guy’s heartstrings.

“Er, yes. Yeah. I’ll try my best.” Virgil gave his signature mock salute, the Guardian tipping his hat in return.

“Trying is all I could ever ask of you, Virgil. Rest well, you will need it.” And with that final sentence, the world around Virgil gently grew dark, and he sunk into the comforting arms of sleep.

Despite it all, Virgil still found his mind vaguely conscious. Sluggish at best, but awake nonetheless.

He figured it was likely some lingering effect from the Guardian’s dream realm, but didn’t dwell on it. His life had way too much else going on to be debating the side effects gained from Guardian powers.

First, he’d been pretty damn convinced two days ago that he was going to be a goner by the end of the month. Completely resigned to die believing that his very existence was scorned by the world he’d been unwillingly born into.

Then Patton had stumbled onto his shitty apartment’s roof, found him in all of his resigned and depressed glory, and changed his life forever.

They’d mostly skipped the whole ‘Human nature is a series of life, death, and rebirth’ spiel that guardians were known to give in these situations because... Well, It wasn’t like they’d really had time to address it before the truth about his soul had come out. That he wasn’t exactly human to begin with.

Virgil didn’t think that Guardians had ever had a situation like his before. There wasn’t a protocol for comforting a kidnapped guardian soul. It’d never been a possibility before!

So it wasn’t surprising then, that Virgil didn’t have any better of a time processing it.

His whole life, all that he’d known to be true, all that he’d believed in? Everything had been uprooted and turned on its head. He’d apparently been living a life that was not supposed to be.

Perhaps for the first time in two days, Virgil realized that the thought of his death at the end of the month had not been consistently worming into his brain. It had once been something he could never seem to stop thinking about.

The death indicated by his soul timer was now perhaps the farthest thing from his mind.

Perhaps the strangest thing so far was that he wasn’t alone anymore. He’d possibly had more physical contact with other people in the short two(three?) days since this adventure started then he’d had in the past 16 years.

And wasn’t it just the cherry on top that he’d also gotten nearly choked out by the very guardian accused of kidnapping his soul in the first place? And now he was considering trusting the damn guy.

Virgil hollowly wondered why he even cared.

Why did he care about staying alive now when he’s spent his whole life believing he never would? Up until two days ago, that belief had still been true. But now? Avoiding death was the goal, Logan had stated as much.

Really, would Virgil lose anything by trusting the banished guardian? Even if the guardian was trying to trick Virgil and got him killed, what difference would it make? That’d always been the goal before. What did he, Virgil, really have to lose?

If it happened that Virgil lived past his twentieth birthday, if he became a guardian like he was supposed to be in the first place. Would he want that? Did he want that?

He wasn’t sure. Didn’t know if he ever had been.

His life had been built on resignation to the inevitable. Nothing seemed to motivate him towards liking or hating that possibility. He was just that.

Indifferent.

And wasn’t that just the greatest revelation of the night? Finding out that you’re indifferent to living or dying.

Once this was all over, if Virgil lived that long, he would make a note to see a therapist. He knew very well that this kind of mindset was unhealthy to keep. It just couldn’t be helped that the nineteen years he’d lived with this particular affliction couldn’t be fixed by a few extra hugs and comforting words.

Even if he didn’t like the fact that death sounded like the more peaceful option.

His thoughts paused, mentally sighing at the downward spiral he’d caught himself in. It was tiring, and going nowhere.

‘For now,’ he decided, ‘I’m just going to see how this plays out. The Guardian said that none of the others remember the truth, or whatever. So, It’s a ‘he said-they said’ situation right now...’

‘I’ll have to keep an eye out for the guy that he warned me about, then. Who knows if he's as dangerous as The Guardian made him out to be. It’s hard to tell with the weird way he has to talk..’

Virgil paused again, a realization striking him. If he could have groaned, he would have. Not once had he been given or even remembered to ask for the name of said Guardian. What was he supposed to call the rogue Guardian now? He couldn’t just keep calling him The Guardian!

Amidst the disbelief of such a slip up, a foreign yet familiar feeling prodded questioningly at his conscious mind. Adding confusion into the mix of emotions, he returned the feeling with a questioning thought of his own.

He briefly heard the Guardian’s whispy voice once more, now acting with permission.

“You may call me Janus”

Then all at once, Virgil woke up.

hi !! i don’t think kny ever explicitly mentions what happens to demons after they die (as in we never have concrete evidence of where they go or how their lives after are spent), but i think the general consensus is that the demons go to hell. 

in some cases, the family can decide to go with them (ex: rui and i think akaza? if i remember correctly?) but their fate is pretty much sealed from that point forward i believe.

but yeah !! thats something i think about a lot tbh. as you mentioned, many of the demons we’ve seen have either been groomed into demonhood (rui, ume, susamaru, etc.) or had their pain and suffering exploited (akaza, gyuutarou) for the sake of advancing other demons’ plans (muzan, douma, etc). so i agree ! a lot of these characters are unfortunate victims in themselves and its impossible to view their stories without incorporating the struggles they’ve had to face as both humans AND demons. especially considering that lots of these individuals experience muzan’s abuse regardless of their status relative to him (such as with the upper and lower moons). i think this is best explained through akaza’s relationship with muzan,

and further explored though tanjiro’s observation of rui’s death. he notes that being a demon, for most, is an existence punctuated by extreme grief and despair, and that’s equally supported, i think, by the humanization of these demons following death. that their original conscious is restored (albeit with knowledge of everything they’ve done) and are oftentimes plagued by the guilt of what’s happened.

what he says here is probably what sums it up for me. that while it’s important to condemn these demons and hold them accountable for the truly awful things they’ve done, it’s also important to consider the suffering they've experienced through existence alone. its so !! complex !! and thats what i love about kny. i love how .. you have some demons who are entirely despicable and bask in the carnage they create, but you also have some for whom demonhood was simply what appeared to be the only answer towards living a healthier life or righting the wrongs that’ve been done to them (usually with false promises and manipulation unbeknownst to them). and .. its so hard to figure out where to.. draw that line. or view these characters at least. because you sympathize with their pain, but you also realize that their actions have caused endless pain for many hundreds of people. tanjiro losing his entire family, giyuu losing his. shinobu watching her sister die before her very eyes, and kanao the same. the ubuyashiki family’s curse or the slaughter of himejima’s children. you look at characters like sanemi, shinobu, or giyuu and understand that you cannot invalidate their view of demons either. while kanae and tanjiro may find hope and humanity in demons, they exist as monsters who feast on pain to everyone else. its important not to discredit their perspective when making a personal choice to observe the demons’ hardships yknow. shinobu’s anger is just as warranted as tanjiro’s optimism and that neither are wrong for how they personally feel demons should be handled after death. 

im like. AAAAAAAA theres so much to it , its really hard for me to condense into a few sentences AHAHA im so sry for making u read this if u still are. but . i guess i’m not too sure. i think maybe, had i experienced the same pain as those above, it would be easy for me to say the demons deserve to go to the worst hell imaginable regardless of what they’ve gone through because that history isn’t accessible to everyone like it has been the audience (or that they’ve seemingly made the conscious decision to cause harm w/o understanding the ways in which demonhood obscures their original conscious/morality). but at the same time, you have those like tanjiro whose world view is shaped by positive encounters with demons like nezuko, tamayo, yushirou, etc. where it seems very evident that . theres more to it than what meets the eye. 

one of my friends ive talked to about this had a rly good perspective on it thats kinda stuck with me since !! she said she likes to view their conclusion as some . separation of identity?? if that makes sense?? that the demon side of them goes to hell while their human form goes to heaven (or division into whichever afterlife). and !! i think thats a really neat interpretation because there’s obvious descrepancy between demon personas and human personas. that the demon personas are like. exaggerations of their flaws, almost (akaza becoming hellbent on battle spirits and physical victories when hajuki’s fury & determination was fueled by love in a sense) while their human personas are the truest sense of self. and depending on which influence there is (muzan vs the appearance of loved ones), their identity changes accordingly. so ! idk ! thats one nice way of looking at it. holding their demon personas accountable while also recognizing that many of these characters deserve some form of healing after many hundreds of years of abuse. its hard because ofc i don’t want to negate the harms they’ve caused but its also? not cut and dry given the environment they were placed in and the fact that muzan’s blood essentially removes their humanity against their will you know. so in this way at least you have both forms of self receiving the proper conclusion. 

whwhwhw so im. !!!!!!!!!!!! ah !! i can’t say i have a definite answer but i think the one above is smth thats comforting to me. i think the story settles with sending them to hell once they’ve regained their past self but also .. “softens” it by providing them company by their loved ones who are willing to go w them?? so thats rly cool to look at too. because it holds them accountable for all that’s happened but also.. recognizes that they’re not wholly responsible for it either and that .. even in hell they’re able to keep their connections and human emotions/experiences . its tragic yet oddly. fitting, i think, of the kny narrative. while i like the aforementioned interpretation, i also really.. appreciate the way its set up in canon too. like yeah i want the best for them but also. it fits in with the tragic nature of demonhood and what it meant for them all. oddly enough. 

u make a good point too !! about demon slayers experiencing the same hardships but using their pain to help others. i think a lot of it is plainly chalked up to luck in terms of.. what they were exposed to following tragedy. how shinobu and kanae were saved by himejima, tanjiro saved by giyuu, kanao picked up by shinobu and kanae, sanemi given the guidance of kagaya while akaza was killed by muzan during his lowest moment, ume and gyuutarou were cornered by douma, rui misled by muzan, etc. i think circumstance is definitely a large factor in determining the paths that were taken. such as sanemi’s anger being validated and heard by ubuyashiki vs, say, akaza’s same anger being intentionally exploited for muzan’s gain.

aaa anyways. theres a lot 2 be said about this. like. SO much on my mind and obviously the extent of muzan’s abuse goes far deeper than what’s briefly mentioned here but.  i love talking about the complexities of kny . and how i view the demons vs the corps and how each of them have grown into their respective stories . But you’re just a ‘tsundere’ for it. Or you have addiction issues but people think being with another addict will ‘save’ you because you’re apparently too incompetent to save yourself. However, (SPOILERS) by the end of the series, he is able to convince and manipulate the forbidden power just as much as it originally wanted to use himFlamegirl: Witch of Mind, Derse moon. she’s stated off from the beginning to be the planner of the group, and is only contested by nylocke for most devoted to justice against the hackers. she is constantly doing the logical legwork of the team, solving puzzles and picking up on the plans of others rather well. neomutant also servers as the witch’s familiar, coming into conflict several times over the series. he mirrors her classpect’s definiton as a manipulator of logic, but as flamey dedicates herself to good neomutant is intent on her destruction.Nylocke: Knight of Heart, Prospit moon. probably a quinitessential knight of heart, Nylocke is devoted to being an absolutely overwhelming force of good in the land of tome. however, his classpect doesnt come from his aspirations, but rather his traits and struggles. Nylocke adopts the persona of Nylocke because it is an escape for him from reality. by forging a persona that is so confident and charming, he can escape into that mindset, however Nylocke isnt perfect either. his actions and spouting can cause others to dislike him and even hate him, as seen with Serpentine and Zetto, in which he manages to serve them character arcs. he even does similar with Demonking, both convincing DK to redeem himself as well as cause him to develop his own rp persona. Kirbopher: Prince of Doom, Derse. moon (HEAVY SPOILERS) you might first think “hey, shouldnt kirb/zetto be the heart player, considering the split identity?” and yknow what, thats fair! but its my post and i get to choose the classpects *t-poses*. doom is the aspect of suffering, and god knows zettos been through a lot of it. feeling like his arm has been ripped off from the forbidden power, losing the forbidden power at the end of season 1, his friends trying to stop him from finishing it off, etc etc. however, a lot of this destruction is caused his own actions in some roundabout way, plus his general attitude of “destroy the forbidden power”. he chooses not to reveal himself to his friends, he chooses to bait the forbidden power, and is the one to spurn consequences. zetto is not a bad person, but has caused a lot of suffering through his choices, including and especially his own.Gamecrazed: Maid of Space, Prospit moon. GC is the master of “wait-and-see”. They have all of the puzzle pieces, and are more than willing to put it together. their disconnect from the others at the beginning of tome is a reoccurring trait of the spacebound, they are quiet, intelligent, and absolutely absurdly strong, but when the final battle comes they must leave everyone to fight for themselves as they protect themself. They are also secretive by their very nature, only telling Nylocke before the reveal becomes public of their true identity. while gc could quite reasonably seen as voidbound, their knowledge of the situation far outweighs their secrecy.Kizuna: Thief of Time, Derse moon. Kizuna is technically not in the dandy alliance, but I like even sessions, and Kizuna’s has been obvious for me since the moment I thought about her. Kizuna is made to rebel against this place. the only attachment she still cares about is Zetto, and he’s stuck ruminating in his own angst. she does most of the legwork later into the series, as well as all of the hiring in the first half. she not only wants to rebel against the other netkings and the forbidden power, (SPOILERS) she wants to get rid of softi for the perceived threat she poses against both her and her partner, zetto.

two (2) revolutionary girl utena persona aus

thiiiiis ended up way longer than expected and i still cut a fuck ton from the au

P2 is a little too complicated to explain it to someone whos never played it so im gonna condense the events as well as i can. Jun (the character that looks like yusuke but with black hair) is the rose bride and tatsuya is in the role of utena for this au. When someone wins a duel they get the rose bride obv, but the main draw as to why these people fight for the bride is to get their wishes granted. And Jun has to follow everyone’s wish no matter what it is. Tatsuya defeats the school principal in a duel, gets Jun whos being a little shit because hes being controlled by Joker (no relation to the p5 one) and Tatsuya doesnt wish for anything (he also does not learn that Jun is the rose bride, as “Joker” is wearing a mask and tatsuya doesnt think to ask him to, yknow, take it off.) so Tatsuya doesnt particularly care when Michel beats him in a duel and gets Jun. Michel is then defeated by one of his cronies and then our wonderful protagonists lose track of the rose bride. 

  Oops.

  After a series of strange occurrences going on in the academy Tatsuya reasons that it must be because of the duels and hes gotta get the rose bride back before more people get cursed. He fights the student council president, who had been using Joker’s powers to elevate his status and curse any nay sayers. Then Tatsuya is challenged by “Prince Taurus”, one of the head duelists and a previous owner of the rose bride. Joker explains to Tatsuya what that guy’s wish was and tatsuya finally realizes that oh shit maybe he should not let anyone else use the bride like that. After defeating Taurus, Joker moves in to Tatsuya’s dorm and Tatsuya finally asks Joker to remove his mask so they can meet as people. Oh hey look its your childhood friend Jun who you dont remember due to Reasons. Since you have seen Utena you already know how the rest of this is probably gonna go. Duels happen, Tatsuya and Jun get closer, etc etc. Then Jun introduces Tatsuya to his parents. Long story short with them, Jun’s father (Nyarlathotep, whos basically the Akio of this story) was the one controlling Jun as well as the one who set up the dueling situation in the first place, and isnt too pleased at Jun gaining more freedom. Upset at Tatsuya getting closer and closer to freeing Jun fully from his clutches, he gets Tatsuya and Jun to move in with him. Idk how far you got into Utena since you said you didnt finish it but, Nyarlathotep is abusing Jun physically, emotionally, and sexually. Tatsuya doesnt know this and Jun is too afraid to tell him. 

  More duels happen, eventually Tatsuya remembers who Jun is, remembers that he promised Jun to be his prince, and learns how much Jun is suffering. Tatsuya fights Nyarlathotep, seems to be winning, but Nyarlathotep throws Jun at Tatsuya. Tatsuya instinctively pushes Jun behind him to protect him from Nyarlathotep, and haha oh no Jun just stabbed Tatsuya in the back. (this is literally just the end of utena but with different visuals, im condensing this a LOT sorry)

 Nyarlathotep stabs Jun a bunch of times for Reasons. Nyarlathotep tries (and fails) to open the door to end of the world, gives up and walks away. Tatsuya gets up and hobbles to the door, pries it open with his bare hands and finds Jun inside. He tries (and fails) to pull him out and nearly ends up skewered by all the swords that Jun got stabbed with. Jun is now free from Nyarlathotep’s influence and everyone got their memories wiped except for Tatsuya. 

  So this part of the p2 au is based on adolescence of utena, which is basically the show but faster and they win. Tatsuya goes back to the school, its been a year since the events of the first part, and hes trying to keep a low profile because if anyone remembers the events of part 1 Nyarlathotep will probably kill everyone. Jun is still the rose bride but hes no longer being abused by his parents since they are all free from Nyarlathotep’s influence. Tatsuya gets roped into a duel against his will, considers letting the next duelist (king leo) win, but then quickly decides not to once he realizes what letting King Leo win is gonna mean for Jun. Jun is horny on main for Tatsuya despite not remembering him, Tatsuya is trying (and failing) to not to fall in love again with Jun. more duels happen. Jun finally asks what tatsuya’s wish is because Tatsuya has never made a wish despite winning so many duels. Tatsuya wishes for them to be able to get out of the school for good. Jun says he cant do that but Tatsuya starts to pull him away. 

  Ok stay with me here this actually happened in utena

  Tatsuya gets turned into a car. Jun realizes with Tatsuya in this form he actually has a chance of escaping so he rides tatsuya (lol) in a race to escape purgatory the academy. They manage to escape and get their happy ending yaay.

Whew.

  There are consequences to the rose bride and the prince leaving that are felt in the P5 au. Now that the rose bride and prince are gone, Philemon gives the powers to 2 new people to replace them. Except with one catch because of Nyarlathotep. The bride and prince dont know they are the bride and prince. So everyone must find them before the real duels can start

  Shido is now the head of the school with Goro standing as “prince”, Goro as the prince is searching for the rose bride because he knows that they must be alone and abandoned and he doesnt want anyone to experience what he had experienced (hes actually searching for them so he can take down shido) (Shido is looking for the rose bride to rule the world). 

Now enter Akira, who just transferred to the school for reasons™️. He accidentally pisses off kamoshida and gets a duelist ring from igor to fight him. Without the rose bride, people have started taking on false brides to give them power (whether they realize it or not) this manifests by a rose literally growing inside of them and blossoming out of their chest, in this case since the rose grows inside of the person, Akira has to bring it out of them, and free whoever/whatever the person has taken on for a rose bride. Kamoshida’s bride is Ann, Madrame’s is Yusuke, etc. Akira p much frees people’s hearts until hes approached by Goro, asking to work together to find the rose bride, and that if they do people will stop having the roses grow inside of them. Akira has been saving people’s hearts, but somebody is killing the people who had roses growing inside of them (wink wink nudge nudge its Goro)

  Shido’s palace/duel happens, Goro is revealed as a traitor (you know the drill) except that when Akira and Goro make it to the final race to escape(Goro gets turned into a car, utena is a weird show) goro reveals that he finally gets it. He wasnt the prince all along, HE was the rose bride all along and never realized it, and Akira was the prince. Akira runs to him but as soon as he reaches him Goro dissolves into a flurry of black rose petals, leaving behind an empty rose bride dress falling limp in Akira’s arms. Without the rose bride by his side akira cant truly escape the world hes in, but he still goes to free shido’s heart even if he has to do it alone. After the battle philemon tells him that Akira can either return to school and live out a fantasy where everyone is happy, or he can take the train to elsewhere in the hopes of one day finding Goro again. Obv akira takes the train, and thats where the au ends for now. I need to play p5r to fully incorporate it into the au but im thinking of there being a red herring with one of the girls as potentially being the rose bride

  Theres a bunch of minor stuff in this au like the one scene from the movie of shido (getting madrame) to paint an unconscious goro, and then “dying” after falling off a balcony once he realizes that goro was awake the whole time. Shido isnt actually dead (?) he fell and became the large rose bush in the school courtyard due to how big his twisted desires had become.
