I should also mention that these connections are NOT the same thing as mains. I still don't really do mains. These are just people my characters have some significant (at least on my characters' ends) sort of relationship with. Most of the time, they're people my characters have closed verse tags with.
If you think your muse should be added to one of these sections, feel free to message me about it! :)

Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.
Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.
I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!

btw the majority of your life will be lived as a adult. yeah i don't make the rules. go have fun in your 40s or 70s or whatever. no one expects you to accomplish everything at 17 or 27. you've got time and in the meantime get some life experience, it will pay off

Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel
IT'S BAD
PLEASE CHECK YOUR COLOR SETTINGS
EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why

Since the r-slur is making a comeback (you know, the word that starts with R, has six letters, and ends in D), I'm gonna make a little PSA:
Yes, it's an ableist slur.
Terms like "asshat," "head-up-ass," "up their own ass," and "high on their own farts" exist. There's also words like crap, dogshit, half-assed, assclown, and chucklefuck. And on the less vulgar side, there are terms like ridiculous, nonsense, train wreck, pointless, insipid, self-absorbed, pretentious, annoying, boring, contemptible, vile, and disgusting.
Substituting words like restarted, poptarted, brain damaged, smoothbrain, etc. is still ableist, because either 1. you obviously still mean the r-word, or 2. you're still using disability as an insult.

Ao3 hate bot is going around leaving nasty messages. If you get a comment like this mark it as spam. According to comments it seems to be going to most recent not fandom specific.

when you say not mutual only but still selective, what does that entail? Genuine question, not trying to be a smart ass or anything
Hello nonny!
Basically, it means that I can be picky with who I write with. I need our writing styles to mesh, I need to be interested in the other characters, I need to be able to see things going beyond just an initial interaction, etc etc etc. When stuff like that doesn't happen, I lose muse incredibly quickly. It doesn't mean you're a bad writer or that your characters are bad or anything, it just means we don't mesh as writers.
I'd say about 90ish% of the time, if I want to write someone I follow them back.
But there are various reasons why I won't follow back someone, even if I do want to write with them. Things like not trimming threads, for example, or posting a lot of something I'm not interested in seeing on my dash. If we've been writing together, though, even if I'm not following you back, you can basically consider yourself an honorary mutual.
If you're not sure where you stand, or are wanting me to check your blog out, feel free to message me, though. Just be aware that, even if you do reach out, it's not a guarantee that we'll write together. I don't want to hurt any feelings, but I need to curate my own space. Tumblr is supposed to be fun, not an obligation, and I plan on keeping it that way for myself.

Critical PSA for anyone with Android devices!
I got the following email this morning:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically Google is rolling out the ability to track you via your android devices even when you're offline and you have to manually opt out of it. Many android devices no longer come with a wired headphone jack, so if you have Bluetooth headphones or a keyboard or anything, your location will be tracked and stored by your device unless you opt out of this.
I tried using the link they gave me in the email to opt out of it, but it didn't really seem to do anything. So I looked up how to opt out and found the following steps, which worked for my phone:
Opting out from the Find My Device network is as simple as tapping a toggle in your phone's settings. 1. On your Android device, go to Settings. 2. Tap the Google setting. 3. Tap the Find My Device setting. 4. Tap the toggle to off next to "Use Find My Device." 5. Confirm with pin, pattern, or biometrics. That's it. Your device is no longer participating in the Find My Device network. To rejoin, just flip the toggle back on.
Please reblog to spread awareness. My husband has the same phone as me and he didn't get any emails about this.

ok, so this has been a long time coming, but I am test trialing moving henry over to my multi muse. I hate to part ways with this blog, but I want to see if I do better activity wise with all my blogs on one blog. I adore Henry, so I will keep this blog up, but threads and such will be shifted over there. I would love to continue things there with him, so I've marked him as a main muse. and you all are welcome to @ me for interactions with him there too. speaking of there, follow me and my henry over at my multimuse here.

This is a friendly reminder to never, ever publish your book with a publishing company that charges you to publish with them. That is a vanity press, which makes money by preying on authors. They charge you for editing, formatting, cover art, and more. With most of these companies, you will never seen a cent of any royalties made from sale of your book. A legitimate publishing company only makes money when you make money, they will never charge you to publish with them. If a company approaches you and says "Hey, we'll publish your book, just pay us X amount of money," tell them to go fuck themself and block them.
