rando suggestion, but i'd definitely start charging more per piece/backgrounds/props next time you open your commissions!! the quality of your art is worth way more than you're charging for it currently and it helps prevent commission overload in the future too (>_<)

Shhh don't say it to anyone but by "fixing my guidelines" i also meant fixing my prices🤫

But no yeah, the only reason i currently only offer white/transparent backgrounds is bc i don't really enjoy it enough to do it for other people??? i don't really have any solid conclusions about this yet but i noticed A Thing in a rewatch and i haven't found it mentioned elsewhere yet so here we go

(apologies for the appalling image quality you're about to see, i can't screenshot easily rn pls bear with)

OKAY so in the scene where crowley confronts gabriel about "shut up and die", something about the arrangement of book stacks caught my eye a little

the majority of the books are angled so that we mostly just see the page edges and not the spines clearly, EXCEPT for a particularly shiny and familiar colour combo right here-

but nothing too weird going on there, i thought, crowley coloured books in a bookshop so what? right up until i registered crowley's line when we get a closer look-

hhhhmmmmMMmmmm yes yes "everything just the way you wanted" huh, very interesting considering that we know how much thought goes into props huh

and for most of the shots we get of crowley in this position those freaking books are just quietly nestled right there in the corner-

look at that god damn framing i fuckin see you, you glorious bastards

so i paused to see if i could figure out what the hell was up with those fuckers and this is when i absolutely lost my mind, your honour

A and C you say?? in crowley colours???? framed like this?????? localised entirely within your kitchen???

anyway long story short they're two books from an Agatha Christie Crime Collection set (24 volumes, three stories per volume) and guess whats on the mfing front covers I'm-

(its a rant for another post but when paired with this other set of initials spotted in s2 i want to scream actually)

ANYWAY back to the books, through an absolutely unhinged comparison of the formatting of gold text blobs i reckon the two we have here are:

(on top) The Pale Horse; The Big Four, The Secret Adversary

(on bottom) 4:50 From Paddington, Lord Edgeware Dies, Murder in Mesopotamia

(I'm fairly confident but if anyone has a better image to confirm/correct this pls do)

now here is where I'll need a bunch of help from some Christie-heads out there bc I haven't read any of these and I've only seen the tv adaptation of one of them, so i dont know for sure if these are like A Clue, or A Cool Thing, or if I've just fully brainrotted myself into a fun lil corner here? wa-hoo

but here's some initial stuff that jumped out at me after skimming the basics:

(some of) the titles: Pale Horse/Big Four - death's horse ofc, the four horsemen mayb? the them+adam?? ; Mesopotamia is a very biblical choice bbz ; 4:50 From Paddington- azi likes trains i guess? idk that one's tenuous lmao ; honestly no idea with the other two but Secret Adversary feels a tad ominous

iirc Big Four just has kind of an unusual history, it was initially twelve short stories that she later compiled into one, and it was published fairly soon after christie's mysterious disappearance/reappearance

in Big Four, poirot fakes his death at one point and doesnt even let hastings in on it and I'm hoping sure its totally irrelevant to the ineffable bois

part of the Pale Horse story is a group of assassins that basically try to pass off all their murders as being actually caused by like ✨satanic powers✨ which is interesting

christie knew a fUCkton about poisonings thats why she wrote so many into her work and, while i don't believe the poison coffee theory myself, it sure is an interesting link with how cyanide is associated with almond smell/flavour and that metatron chooses almond syrup in particular

(ALSO random side note that is mostly meaningless but I've worked in a good few uk coffee shops and have never worked anywhere that stocks almond syrup; almond milk yes, hazelnut syrup yes, but never almond syrup...? prob just the places i worked though lmao)

EDIT forgotten point: I've seen some speculation that the bently's plate reading "CURTAIN" could be a reference to poirot's last story, along side that alternate scene of crowley ordering the sherry for "miss marple", its just one too many agatha christie references for my melted brain to handle and I'm SUS

so this is where i run out of idea steam and hand it over to you lot because i have no clue what this could mean, if it even means anything other than a cool set feature

"Okay, that doesn't sound like a normal cough."

You turn to him. A cup of hot tea in one of his hands and a bottle of water in the other.

You wanted to answer, but a wave of new coughs interrupted you.

"Yeah, no." He left the thing in your nightstand. "You go back to bed, call in sick, and I'm getting you some medicine from the store."

"But I have paperwork." You say, voice almost gone from the sickness. "And I have this project."

He shakes his head no, grabbing you by the shoulders and walking you to your bed. He helps with your shoes and makes sure you're tugged comfortably in bed.

"Please hear me." He kisses the top of your head, passing you the tea. "I'm going to the pharmacy. Please drink this, and I'll be back, amor."

He left your apartment to go get you some medicine, some snacks, and something to make a soup.

He knew an amazing place to get you some chicken soup for you to feel better, but he prefers to cook it himself.

Every time he's sick, you cook something for him. Sometimes some nice breakfast, sometimes a nice soup.

That's something that makes him feel better, your love and care for him. So he wants to do the same for you. To make you feel what you make him feel.

He picked up regular and normal medicine, some headache pills, vitamins in gummy form, some sweets, and some hydrating drinks.

He then drives to the grocery store. He knew he needed some vegetables, chicken, and maybe some other things, but he didn't know how much of everything or if he needed something to season or something to make it taste homemade.

The phone rings three times before your mom answered.

"Hola cariño, como estas?" (Hey honey, how are you?)

"Hola, sorry to bother you. I just need some help with something."

"You never bother me, tell me how can I help you."

He explained what he wanted to prepare for you, and how lost he was in ehat to get.

"You're such a sweetheart, I'll help you. First, you're getting chicken breasts, maybe three potatoes, corn, two carrots, celery."

She gave him a list of what to get and how much, some seasoning brand names. Instructing him on how to add it and how to season it.

"Gracias, you're a life saver." He smiles to himself, the shopping car full with things for the soup.

"I should be the one thanking you. You take care of my baby when I'm not able to. And I'm grateful for that Pedri"

"I love her. You don't need to thank me for it." He says honest about his feelings. "I have to go, so I get to her place soon and I can feed her this for lunch."

"Bye sweetheart, take care and don't get sick."

He pays for everything, getting you your favorite hot drink from your favorite coffee shop.

When he gets back to your place, the first thing he does is go back to your room to check on you.

"Hi." You say, voice more gone than before. "I missed you."

He gives you your drink, kissing the top of your head. "Why don't you try to sleep, amor?"

He runs back to the kitchen, getting the pills. He makes you take the medicine so you can rest better.

"Thank you, I'll ask you to lay down with me, but you're not getting sick." You laugh.

"I'll be here when you wake up."

"Love you." You send him a kiss which he catches and dramatically place his hand onto his heart. This action makes you laugh again.

He goes back to the kitchen, organizing everything in the order your mother gave him. But he keeps forgetting the instructions, not wanting to mess up everything he picks the phone and calls someone who knows about soups and cooking.

"Mami"

"Hola, mi niño."

He knew his mother was an expert in cooking, having a Tasca of her own. She definitely knows what she's doing.

After the explanation of what he's trying to do, what he bought and the steps your mom gave him.

Rosy gave him a bit of a different instruction, the ingredients being the same, but the preparation changing a little bit.

"I can't help but laugh at you Pedri, you don't even cook for yourself, but you're cooking for your girlfriend."

"Love does magic mother." He jokes, can't helping the blush that creeps his cheeks.

"I wonder if your mother gets sick, will you make her some soup?" His father asks

"That would be on you to make her a soup, don't you think?"

"Got me there, niño." They all laugh.

He FaceTime with his parents till the soup is about to boil.

"Bueno, I have to let this sit for a while, I'm going to go check on her and bring her down to eat."

"That's okay, take good care of her and the good man we taught you to be."

"Adiós, Pedri." His father waves at the screen.

He hung up, connecting his phone to the charger. The soup boils for a few minutes more. Adding the last bits of salt to his taste and ready!

He plates the soup, letting it sit out so it wasn't too hot for you.

When he walks into the room, you're sleeping with the tv on. He noticed the way your cheeks were red, pressing his hand on your cheek he feels that you might have a little fever.

"Mi amor, wake up princesa. I made some lunch for you."

You softly humm a no, making him feel bad for waking you up.

"C'mon, princesa, you need some food and medicine." He caresses your cheek. The warmth feeling of your cheeks makes him worry.

"Five minutes more." You hug his body, his hands on your hair massaging your scalp.

"You have to eat."

"I'm sleepy."

"I know, a little bit of food, and you can go back to sleep, amor."

You nod, taking a good minute to sit on the bed. He grabs your water next to the bed and another pill for the fever.

You make a face at the taste of the pill. Feeling the sour aftertaste of medicine makes your stomach turn. You gag a few times, pushing him lightly and running to the bathroom.

Pedri follows you, picking you hair that was a mess due to the sleep. Making it less messy for you.

He pats your back. Once you're done, he helps you get up.

"I hate this." You cry as you brush your teeth. "I don't like feeling like this."

"It's okay, hermosa. It's just a cold."

"I don't like it."

You hug him, holding him tight like a teddy bear. The way to the kitchen feels long for you.

You can't smell that much, but when the tasty smell of soup hits your nose, you focus on the kitchen.

A plate of soup is sitting there waiting for you. "You make soup?"

"I hope it's good, your mom and my mom helped."

"That's super sweet, if I could I would kiss you."

"Here." He kisses your shoulder. "Now eat, my love."

You ask him to tell you about the game that's taking place tonight. He was still I recovery and not allowed to play, so he was going to support his friends.

You feel so much better with the food and love he's showing you.

"I love you so much." You say, feeling like crying due to the sweet actions. "You're the best."

"Don't thank me, I'm here for you in sickness and in health."

"We're not married." You say, knowing that what they say when you get married.

"Yet, amor."

You scrunch your nose and eat the rest of your food. Feeling lucky to have someone to care for you in this hard time.

i was rereading sssbmty and I realised smth, well not realised but yeah. as I was rereading I noticed somthing. Ed was bitch. not like 'omfg Ed ur such a bitch' but like 'wtf Ed? ur such a fucking bitch! jesus...' and then I got to alabasta.

ur a genius, I've read other fics like this for example divergence and another one I cant remember the name of (going to read this bites soon... maybe). but what really puts your fic at the tippity top is giving Ed character development, not a whole fucking arc to them obvi but giving them actual character development. Ive read so many what if I was in... but I rarely see authors giving the oc development because they don't think about it or they don't think they do.

but in alabasta, Ed was saying how no one listens to them and saying how they're always right (kind giving ranpo from bsd) but then the straw hats tell them that they don't say anything with conviction.

they basically tell them (incoming poetry made by mwah) that we cant hear you screaming if youre the one keeping your mouth shut.

yeah you can use that for future reference I'm an amazing poet fr fr but its really an eye opener for ed, so far Ed was making theories with no support or little evidence and everyone went along with it. so it doesn't really make any sense to Ed why no one is listening to them. because they haven't realised that even tho they're right about where to go, its vivi's country. vivi isn't their friend because she doesn't like Ed which further dampens ed's theories on where to go because it ties into vivi and hope. there's an analysis on YouTube by MelonTree (I reccomend her entire chanel) which gets deeper into this. but the straw hats trust vivi and want what's best for her. so when Ed is screaming about where to go, they don't say WHY. they don't further in on how vivi's destination is wrong or how there's other possibilities. instead, Ed tells vivi that's its stupid, we're wasting time, I know where to go, why wont you listen.

Ed was making bets on vivi's country which is a funny gag, is INCREDIBLE dark to her. she has spent years invading buroque works and when she encounters this strange pirate crew they want to help. but this one crew mate isn't serious and theyre laughing and screaming at her because she's wrong. that is the pov of vivi towards Ed.

so Ed and vivi talk it out and here comes Ed, they realize that even tho I'm on the crew, that doesn't mean I'm likable. its seen through the fic that they start to work on themself and provide more evidence to theyre theories.

Oke oke- Sooo basically this AU is about this Girl "Annabelle" (my self insert teehee) who had gotten trapped in the Sugar Rush game somehow just by messing with the game cabinet while the Arcade was closed (spooky black magic shit ik). But later she finds some weird red glitchy blob by Cola mountain, she messes with it for a bit and then HOLY SHIT IT'S TURBO??? WHAT???!!! NO WAY! But Turbo is in his virtual form (like a ghost form of some kind, idk just keep listening to me yap) instead of his physical form (and oh boy is his physical form way more fucked up than his virtual form). Time goes by and Annabelle is Ruling Sugar Rush (yeah ik that doesn't make sense but just wait till I get to the lore part and as to why oke? oke-). So yeah she has been made to rule a literal sugar kingdom while she also has to be a playable character to NOT look sus to other game characters watching. (ofc this did not work cuz erm- what the sigma??? new girl??? where Vanellope???????)

LORE

OK! now for the lore and as to WHY??? AND HOW???

Sooo, Annabelle had move into town and then found out there was a cool arcade nearby where she was now living. Ofc that being Litwack's Arcade :3. For a little while she had been a daily visitor to the arcade and ofc Sugar Rush was her #1 favorite arcade game and played it EVERY DAY. She would play other games too ofc (Fix It Felix Jr would be her last resort game when all the other games in the arcade were Occupied).

Now as for Annabelle's personality? She is pretty nice and very fun to be around if you like her at first sight. She has a bit of an ego though, It pretty much started developing when she would win all the time in that Sugar Rush game. She had ALWAYS been the #1 person on that sugar rush leader board (I actually don't know if there even is a leader board in the game but NOW IT DOES >:]). Unfortunately that would change when a couple of assholes would come in and mentally put her down saying shit like uhhh "lol, ur so bad", "I could bet you in a race like that" (they're jealous lol). Ofc this gets on Annabelle's nerves and this makes her think she has competition (and she did) AND her way to cope and talk back at them with bs like this was to STROKE HER EGO (oh honey noooo D,:). Ofc this eventually gets to her when she starts fumbling in the game and is starts losing with every chance she gets (yes getting 2sd place means losing to her, sounds familiarrrrrrr ◉_◉). She has been losing her place on the leaderboard and eventually the Assholes find out and then they quite literally take a mental tole on her (ya wanna know what's really funny??? These assholes are literal teenage kids... Annabelle is literally fucking 20 like- HONEY THEY'RE KIDS STOP WORRYING 😭😭😭).

One night Annabelle hits a breaking point and NEEDS to be back on that #1 spot on the leader board BY. ANY. MEANS. NECISSARY.

Phhhfffttt- Oh nonono- she is NOT losing to a couple of kids that have been bulling her for the past couple of days! Hell NO! So what does she do???? Break into the Arcade overnight!!!! WhAt CoUlD pOsSiBlY gO wRoNg??? *screaminggggg and cryinngggg*

So Annabelle breaks in the Arcade, UNFORTUANTELY She had forgotten her quarters back at home. Sooooo she goes back home and doesn't bother✨ JK SHE DECIDES TO BREAK INTO THE GAME CABNET TO STEAL QUARTERS 💀 (mind u that Annabelle is UNAWARE that these game characters are sentient, so even if she did have her change on her and put them in... they would NOT be there) Annabelle rummages around and is suddenly hit with some powerful shock and blacks out (Nice one girl 😒). Annabelle wakes up and HOLY SHIT- WHAT THE FUCK??? SHE'S IN SUGAR RUSH???? WHAT THE HELLLLL?????? (ofc this whole time she thinks she's dreamingggg but the scary reality finally hits her eventually 😁😁😁) Annabelle Finds out about Game Central Station and oh my god it looks to scary for her- nope, She's staying inside Sugar Rush. And heaven forbid if one of them finds out she's human in the game world, they could probably kill her *🥲*. I almost forgot to mention that her physical appearance slowly starts to change the longer she's in the game world. Her skin starts to look paler and slightly grey; her eyes are tinted yellow and her eyerises are turning a darker shade of blue. And this is due to the exposure to the atmosphere of the game world. So it looks like she's dying but she's not. :,]

Anyway about this Red g̵̋͜l̸̯̾i̶̱̍t̶̩͒c̴̪̀h̸͖́ÿ̶̦ blob she found beside Cola Mountain~

After a while of her walking around and Exploring Sugar Rush (and to find a safe place to stay *sobs*) She sees a red glint in the corner of her eyes by the mountain and ofc goes to check it out (naauuurrrrrrr!!!!), She finds it, picks it up, messes with it for a minute and she's suddenly hit with a painful red shock that literally makes her fall to the ground. And with some spoooky electronic glitchy magic bs going on in front of her this blob takes in the form of... guys... You'll NEVER guess who it is!... It's Turbo! what a goddamn surprise! I bet u never guessed right hehehehehehe >:] jk (I just realized how long this is getting. I'm sorry to all my ADHD people 😭😭😭)

I'll try to explain this part really quick :,)

Turbo meets Annabelle in his Virtual form, Annabelle os freaked out about this shit cuz holy fuck what is that creepy ass glitchy tall shadow creature???? (yes his virtual form made him tall 🤭) So after some back and fourth talking and them introducing themselves and Turbo going on about his pathetic sob story as they why he's like this and all that bs talk, Annabelle asks if he could be able to take her home because of his coding abilities and all that stuff. He says he will BUT, in order to help her get "home" SHE has to do something for him first in order for that to happen. He NEEDS everything back that was all taken away from HIM and he need her help to get it all back just by Reincoding him back to his physical from (unfortunately for Turbo, his powers and abilities are limited when he's in his virtual form.). Annabelle agrees. (spoiler alert: There is actually no way she can get home, she's stuck in the game world forever. 🥲)

Now how this will happen is:

• Get inside the castle and enter the code room, Find Sour Bill and hold him at knife (ik, very dramatic and over the top but somethings gotta work) point. He will help her get into the code room with a rope to tie around her in order to stay safe and not float away in the black abyss of the code room (ofc he tells her the Nintendo code)

• He will be with her when this happens, Annabelle will need to destroy Vanellope's code and keep it away from all the other codes just like he did when he Ruled Sugar Rush. This will ensure that Vanellope will forget EVERYTHING (this means her memories about Ralph and everyone else she has befriended and her memories she has held dear)

• Turbo will teach her how to code a new character sprite for herself and put EVERYTHING in it that will make her Rightful Ruler. Annabelle gives herself the Name "Queen Sweetheart" Omori Reference???? (Turbo designed a dress for her, She found it pretty sus on how low the bust area is but whatever, she has other clothing designs for herself. Whatever works)

• Alright Vanellope is out of the way and now considered a threat once again and no one has NO memory of Vanellope and Annabelle is officially rightful ruler of Sugar Rush

• She will announce that there will be a big Racing event in THREE DAYS (ofc the whole part with the coins from the first movie is brought back to ensure that Vanellope CANNOT enter the race again.

• When that day comes Turbo will virtually go into Annabelle's body (It's painful) and then she will go racing with him virtually inside her.(Please don't get the wrong idea I couldn't think of any other way to say it 😭😭😭) She HAS TO WIN. If she doesn't then he will find her completely useless and not help her get back home. *😐*

When Annabelle wins that race Turbo is finally back to his physical form and 100% fully alive and will take everything back that has been taken from him. (sure Turbo, sure 😒)

Ofc there will be people getting in the way of Their plans cuz people want to know why there's suddenly a new character and "WHAT THE FUCK DID U DO TO VANELLOPE???" -Ralph probably 🤭

With the help of some people Vanellope eventually starts to regain memory. "How will Vanellope get into that Race? she has no medal!" Well Felix was nice enough to give him one of his to use, he was hesitant *raises eyebrow* but he had to do it for the sake of Vanellope.

Catnap sometimes fights you whenever you want to tell a story while Catnap wants to make the othe critters sleep. Kickin cheers at you and says "Fight! Fight! Fight! Go y/n, go!" Which makes the situation worse (he receives numerous bombastic side eyes) Dogday and Hoppy interrupts tho

You and kickin are the most sarcastic couple duo of the group. He makes you laugh, you make him laugh, "Ew. You guys are making us cringe" says hoppy. Others nodded in agreement.

Dogday is your best man and woman in a wedding episode "Wait, when did that hap--" (pickypiggy)

You guys share each other's food. And sometimes with Pickypiggy if you two didnt have any food with you

When you guys are chilling, he likes to nestle beside you, bird style✨ He also loves the cuddles and pats you give him (and your attention too, he's an attention seeker)

Despite his confident and brave attitude, he is actually the first one to cower and run whenever the group faces danger, but when you're with him, he pauses from running and decides to shield you from danger (which is most often a boulder in one of the smiling critters' adventures) you get squished, tom and jerry style

His blanket is (your favorite color x color and pendant shape) while yours is yellow with red star pattern

He likes to show off along with his "shades of coolness" that he brings out magically from his 'pocket'. (Typical cartoon character) You match him with your own (favorite shape) shades

Kickin once asked a commission for Crafty to draw you and him together under a tree. The unicorn bought new crayons with over 100 after that

Bigger Bodies version:

[Imagine: reader is the player. Depends on you whether the player/reader is an ex-employee, an orphan that was adopted til adulthood, or random person wandering.

KickinChicken breathes Yellow Smoke, which can calm down any living thing nearby; children, adults, and the reader. It also has a dreamscape-like effect (like what Catnap did in the game). For the BBI experiments and living toys tho, it will slow them down as if the smoke has a "freezing" effect. Some will sleep when theyre weak enough, but this smoke cannot completely combat CatNap's red smoke.

BBI KC (this will be what i will refer him to as to not to be confused with the cartoon one) doesn't like it when the reader goes out on her own

If you chose the reader/player to be an ex-employee; BBI KC will recognize her as the caretaker who showed genuine care to him even as an experiment. As a result, he has a small childish crush on her but set it aside because of survival. (He still has it tho)

If you chose the reader/player to be an orphan; BBI KC will recognize you as one of his old playmates when he was still "alive". He was very protective of you after you encountered him in the factory.

If you chose the reader/player to be a random explorer; he spared you and took interest in your offer to bring him to the outside world. He admired your determination to go back home alive and your luck to deal with the shittiest toy factory in the world. You two worked together to solve puzzles and activate the power switches etc.

When the two of you got outside of a building, you took the opportunity to fly with BBI KC and explored every bit of PlayCare (specifically, after BBI Dogday's chase sequence) You loved grabbing on BBI KC' s talons as he flew up. You had the impulsive thought of leaving it all behind by flying up to the entrance of the cable car but Ollie called before you can even tell BBI KC to do so.

When BBI KC rests, you snuggle up to his chest and he chirps in a hoarse voice. He will also exhale some yellow smoke to prevent enemies from getting closer.

He tries his best to be with you at every second but there are times when he cant (like sneaking into vents or the School)

He hugs you with his wings to keep you warm.

Whenever you're scared, BBI KC always says pleasant things to boost your confidence up. He doesnt like it when y/n shakes in fear.

He got extremely violent with CatNap. Especially that one time when he was about to eat your head.

He has bird instincts to pick up random stuff and pile it near you whenever you're at rest. (he's like building a nest)

If there was food in the game, BBI KC wouldve gotten you lots of it.

He likes playing with your grabpack and often high-fives with you whenever you two activated a generator

He hates ollie the moment interruptor

Dr. Elna Yadin: Imagine that for your entire life, you've been afraid that if you don't hold up the wall of your home, the building will collapse; so you've never taken your hands off the wall. *** Scrupulosity is a manifestation of OCD focusing on moral/religious concerns. *** Something wakes Remus in the middle of the night. Patton's struggling.

It isn't often that Remus well and truly startles awake, but there are exceptions to every rule. He groans, scrubbing a hand over his eyes, glancing at the glow-in-the-dark clock over the desk area and getting to his feet. Slippers on, teddy bear grabbed, he shuffles out into the hallway and starts the trek down to the Light Sides' bedrooms. As he goes, the mumblings in his ears grow louder and louder, and by the time he's knocking on a pale blue door, he's fully awake.

The mumblings halt for a moment, then resume, followed by a soft click as the door unlocks. Remus steps inside, shutting the door behind him, wincing as he catches sight of a discarded notebook with its cover bent and folded and its pages torn. Across the room, at the edge of the bed, kneels Patton, his hands folded on the sheets and his head bowed below the line of his shoulders.

"Hey, Pat-Pat," he says quietly, going over to sit next to him, "it's bad tonight, huh?"

Patton barely pauses, just nodding. Remus reaches over to grab the notebook and puts it within reach, slowly placing it where Patton can see it with his head bowed. There's a slightly choked noise as he sets it down, before Patton raises his head and Remus lets out a soft noise at his red nose and tear-stained cheeks.

"Remus," and shit, he sounds like he's been crying for hours too, "I don't know what to do. Nothing's working."

"You tried all your exercises already?"

He nods miserably. "They're not working. It's just getting worse. It won't stop."

"I'm sorry they're not helping, Pat-Pat. Has this been going on for a long time today?"

"N-no. No, I was—everything was fine and then I tried to go to bed and it—and it just started right away when I was—when I was thinking about what we're going to do about the script and it—and it—"

"Breathe, little unicorn," Remus says softly, tsking when he sees Patton go to bite his knuckles, "hey, uh-uh, here, I brought your friend."

Patton takes the teddy bear and bites one of its ears, several breaths wheezing in and out of his partially open mouth. Remus just sits next to him, quietly reminding him to keep breathing every once in a while until he slumps against the side of the bed. He reaches out and ruffles his hair.

"How come…nevermind."

"How come what? How come what," he asks again, purposefully making his voice more sing-songy to make Patton giggle, "come on, tell me, how come what?"

"…this is gonna sound bad."

"Cool. I don't care, tell me anyway."

"I just—Logan is so good at helping the others with stuff like this. Why can't…why can't he help me?" He sets his chin on the bear's head and makes the most adorable pout. "It's like I'm always able to come up with something else, like Virgil but worse—n-not that Virgil is bad!"

"I know what you meant, little unicorn. You're asking why Logic can't help you with your brain spicy the way it can help the others, right?"

"Yeah."

Remus shuffles closer, folding his arms and resting his chin on top so his face makes the little squishy pout like Patton's. "Do you want me to tell you a secret?"

"What secret?"

"The one about how Lolo helps people and why it doesn't work for you."

"Wait, you know why?"

"Yeah, I know why, that's why I help you and Lolo doesn't." Remus leans close enough to boop their noses together before he sits back. "You wanna know?"

"Yeah, I wanna know!"

"Logic is really useful for things happening in the present. Like: A is happening and B is happening, so C is true. Or A is happening and B is true so C must also happen. It's a very focused-on-the-now-with-info-you-have approach. Which is good for Virgil, especially, because his uncertainty is a lot of 'what if' and 'did we do this' sort of things." Remus knocks their heads together again. "But with you, your stuff is almost always in the future. And that means it lives in the Imagination, kinda in between Virgil and me and Roro. And so yeah, no shit you can always come up with stuff, the entire point of Lolo's approach is certainty and control and that really doesn't work for your brain spicy."

"O-oh." Patton fiddles with the bear's ear. "Is that why Logan had that conversation with me about encouraging it?"

"Yeah. I think one of the sites we looked at said it too, the thing about how if you give that, like, reassurance that you're right, or that you're in control, or that you can be certain about something, it actually feeds into it because it makes the distress when that isn't true way worse."

"…I think I knew that, somewhere, it's just…" He sighs. "You guys are so much better at talking about this stuff than I am."

"That's not your fault, Pat-Pat. Feelings are hard, emotions are messy. Sometimes you just gotta let 'em be."

"But that's hard."

"I know, but as you're very fond of reminding us, nothing worth doing is always easy."

"I don't think that's exactly what I said."

"It's close enough, though, right?"

"Yeah, it's close enough." Silence falls again. The fan turns around the room and a gust of wind flutters the edge of Patton's hair. "Remus?"

"Mhm?"

"Do you think that the script thing will turn out fine?"

He lifts one shoulder and lets it drop. "I dunno."

"You don't know?"

"Nope. Can't know, won't know, nothing to do but let things happen and then figure it out." When Patton makes a quiet, distressed noise, he flops his cheek over to lie on his arm. "You wanna know what I do know, though?"

"What's that?"

"No matter what happens, I'm gonna be here to support you. And so are the others. Even though none of us know how it's gonna go, we're gonna be there for each other. 'Cause that's how we do shit around here, yeah?"

Patton nods. He glances at the notebook and, after a long moment's hesitation, he picks it up with trembling fingers. "Will you—I wanna try one of the exercises again. Will you…stay here while I do it?"

"Yeah, little unicorn. I'll sit right here while you do it, okay?"

"Okay."

He closes his eyes as the sound of scribbling fills the room. Deep in his chest, he can feel Patton's distress start to build, swirling around and around as he works through the exercise. His breath catches a few times and he has to remind himself not to reach out, not yet, not yet, Patton has to go through the whole thing first, and he just keeps breathing. He hears the quiet rustle of Patton tightening his grip on the teddy bear and the force it takes to keep his focus on the exercise, not to give into the compulsion, to let the distress exist and refuse to engage with it. It's difficult, undoubtedly, but his little unicorn is capable of it and he's never been more proud.

When it's over, or when the swirl of distress no longer swirls as much nor is as distressed, Patton lets the notebook fall to the floor with a shaky sigh and slumps against Remus's elbow. That isn't a comfortable position at the best of times, so he lets his arm wrap around Patton's shoulders and squeeze him close enough to kiss his temple. Patton lets out a sleepy little hum and nuzzles his face into the teddy bear.

"You feel any better?"

"Yeah. I think so."

"You think you can try and sleep?"

"Can…can you stay for a little bit? Just a bit longer?"

Remus smiles, kissing his forehead. "Yeah, you wanna cuddle?"

"I was thinking we could listen to the new podcast episode. Just to kind of…" He waves his hands. "De-all of that."

"Sure, Pat-Pat. We gotta cuddle though."

Patton giggles and climbs up into the bed. Remus puts the notebook on the nightstand and crawls over him, pressing more kisses to his face and shoulders until Patton's giggling more than sniffling. They settle against the pillows and Patton offers him an earbud. The podcast into music starts playing as Patton snuggles into his chest with a sigh.

"Hey, Remus?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you for coming."

"Anytime, little unicorn, anytime."

jongho obviously is very strong and can quite easily lift most weights at the gym

he still likes to challenge himself though so he may try even heavier weights that he hasn't tried before

usually sticks to his own thing and leaves you to it

but if you ask him for help, he can be a very good personal trainer

will teach you how to do certain things you're unsure about or tell you how to do things safely so you don't hurt yourself or pull a muscle

he loves being able to help you in this way
