The first cut of settings for communities is now available. Admins of communities can change the name, tagline, avatar, header image, tags, and description. You can find a link to these settings in the sidebar for your community on desktop, or in the context menu on mobile.

The community invite popup has been given a design refresh, including a counter of how many invites you have left.

Communities now display whether they are public or private in their header.

Community admins can now promote members to moderators. Moderators can delete posts, and we’re still building out the feature, so expect to see things change in the next few weeks!

We’ve updated the blog posts API endpoint to add the options to specify a sort order and an “after” time, to complement the current option to show posts from “before” a specific time. When using “before”, and by default, posts are sorted in reverse-chronological order (“descending”). With “after” and “sort = asc”, you can sort posts from oldest to newest instead, starting at a certain time.

Since secondary blogs cannot post to communities yet, your primary blog will now always be selected when posting to communities.

Certain activity coming from communities, such as mentions in posts and comments, and soon invitations, now count towards your unread activity total.

Since its launch, Love & Deepspace (LADS) has evolved significantly, introducing new features, quality-of-life improvements, and (of course) sparking debates about monetization. Here's a comprehensive, detailed look at what the game has accomplished, where it shines, and where it could do better.

🌟 Major Improvements & New Features

1. Lunar Shop Overhaul 🌙

Before:

Ranking up 5★ memories only gave 50 Lunar Crystals, which felt unrewarding.

Players had no meaningful way to spend excess crystals.

Now:

Lunar Crystals can be exchanged for exclusive outfits and accessories.

The first outfit (inspired by a meme!) was a fun addition.

Problem:

Outfits cost 100 crystals per color variant: forcing players to grind (or spend) for multiple copies of 5★ memories.

The system has a finite limit: once you max out standard banner memories, crystals stop accumulating unless you pull on limited banners.

Verdict: A step in the right direction, but too restrictive. Let players unlock color variants freely!

2. Memory Growth Bonus (A Lifesaver for Leveling) 📈

Before:

Leveling memories past 60 required insane resources, making progression tedious.

Now:

A growth bonus significantly reduces the grind for multi-banner memories.

Problem:

Myth memories (solo banners) don’t benefit from this system.

High-level players still face bottlenecks when upgrading beyond 60.

Verdict: A great addition, but should be expanded to all memory types.

3. Glint Photo Booth & AR Snapshot (A Fan Favorite!) 📸

Why It’s Great:

Allows creative photo-taking with LIs and MC.

Sparked huge community engagement (players share edits, memes, and stories).

Controversy:

Some speculate this feature was only added because revenue allowed it (no official confirmation).

Raises questions about whether F2P-friendly content depends on profit margins.

This event is all about bringing together writers and artists to create collaborative, high-quality fanworks centered on the relationship between Elphaba and G(a)linda (Gelphie/Gelphaba) from Wicked—whether you’re inspired by the musical, the movie, the book, or your head canons come from a mix of all three. 🧹 What’s a Big Bang?

A Big Bang is a fandom event/challenge where writers craft a long-form fanfic (minimum 10k words), and artists are matched to them to create visual art of all different kinds, inspired by their story. At the end of the challenge, both the story and the art are revealed together—(with a BANG! <- pun intended)

This is a classic Big Bang.

📚 Writers: What You Need to Know

Minimum word count: 10,000 words.

Your fic must focus on Gelphie as the primary ship. Other characters and relationships are welcome, but Elphaba/G(a)linda must be the emotional heart of the story.

Genres, Crossovers, and AUs are absolutely welcome—bring on the gothic dramas, soulmate AUs, non-magical AUs, There's nothing wrong in Oz, Elphaba had caring parents, Gangster 1920s AUs, and more.

No previously published work. You must write a brand new fic specifically for this event. Though, if you have a fic that you have not updated in at least 6 months that you'd like to use this as a means of inspiration to get you to finish it, those will be considered on a case by case basis.

First drafts must be actual drafts, not just outlines. They must be at least 6,000 words and include the full arc (beginning, middle, and end). You can polish after matching, but give your artist something real to work with!

Final fics go live during the reveal period only. No sharing snippets or edits early unless scheduled as part of the Big Bang and requested by this blog/Mod. In short, no early posting. You’ll get instructions closer to the deadline for how to post to AO3.

🎨 Artists: What You Need to Know

You’ll be matched with a story that inspires you—based on a blind summary selection process (you won’t know the author’s name when choosing). This will need to be a first come first serve basis, as all fics need to be paired.

Art requirements:

Images must be at least 400x600px.

Videos must be at least 1 minute long.

Fanmixes must include cover + back art (400x400px min) and at least 6 songs with accessible links.

Any type of visual or audio fanart is welcome: digital art, traditional art, manips, vids, music, fanmixes, etc.

Your work must be original and unpublished before the reveal date. No reposting old works.

Some flexibility with edits is okay after matching, but talk with your writer before making big changes.

Art will go live during the reveal period. Please wait to crosspost off AO3 until reveals are complete so both fic and art can shine (in a galindified approved) way!

🛠️ How to Post on AO3

There will be an AO3 collection to publish both fic and art. If you don’t have an AO3 account, I can help you get one!

Once you submit, your work will be unrevealed (hidden from the public) until the official reveal date.

You’ll be able to edit your submission until reveals begin.

You can crosspost your work anywhere (Tumblr, Instagram, FFN, etc.) after reveals are done.

💔 What if I Need to Drop Out?

Life happens! If you need to drop out, please do so before you are matched with a partner. That way, no one is left hanging mid-process. I’ll communicate drop-out deadlines clearly via email and this Tumblr. If you drop out respectfully and in time, you’re absolutely welcome to join us for future Gelphie events! In the event that you need to drop out after you've been paired with someone, that is where a Pinch-Hitter will come in.

🚨 Important Rules

No plagiarism. That includes fic, art, AND AI-generated content that replicates others’ work. If your submission is found to use AI it will be removed.

If you suspect plagiarism, please do not report it unless you have clear evidence, such as a side-by-side comparison.

You’ll review fic summaries, claim one that inspires you, and create a beautiful piece of fanart to match.

Betas help writers edit and polish their drafts! You can sometimes serve as a source of help or inspiration when the creative juices stop flowing. You’ll check for grammar, plot holes, character voice, pacing, and overall coherence. You can sign up as a beta reader even if you’re not a writer or artist!

📣 Cheerleaders

Cheerleaders are the supportive backbone of the Bang! You’ll encourage writers and artists, help brainstorm through blocks, and be a friendly hype machine for the writers/artists.

🦸 Pinch-Hitters

The heroes who step in if a writer or artist drops out after the match. You’ll be contacted only if needed and asked if you’re available. Flexible, low-pressure, but extremely appreciated!

🔁 Can I Sign Up for More Than One Role?

Absolutely! You can write AND beta, or make art AND cheerlead—just make sure you have time to commit to each role responsibly.

🎭 Anonymity and Reveals

All fics and art will be posted anonymously until the end of the event. There will be 2–3 creation reveals per day during the reveal period so that everyone gets a spotlight moment. You’re welcome to crosspost your work afterward wherever you like!

Lavacake (marella x fitz), and the ship name arguments it started

abscourse, the neverending debate about whether Keefe has abs (he shouldn't), which also dragged asscourse back to light (whether fintan pyren has a fat or flat ass (it's flat))

Lady Cadence won the 2024 Keeper Sexywoman bracket!

Roisin (camelspit) hosted another year of Roisin's Reading Rumble!

Strieefe, the pairing between Stria (the-way-astray) and her least favorite character, Keefe Sencen. Now with 21 (and counting) different fics, 8 artworks, and 2 songs!!

A few Unraveled scenes leaked, sending the fandom into a panic--half from the contents of the leak, half from the scramble to avoid said contents

Quil (bookwyrminspiration) drew krocs, which Fin (fintan-pyren) actually made

Unraveled, book 9.5, was officially published!! (Quil, bookwyrminspitation's, notes from the tour) with canonical queer characters!! the fandom took this very well.

They did not take the timeline well. There were many debates about when the series takes place given pop culture references in 9.5

Finally, we started transing several characters genders again! Notably, Laith Vacker

This brings 2024 to a close, leaving us all still riding the high (low?) of Unraveled. Jesus fuck, y'all. what a year. can't wait to do it again <3

Is there any reference to Artificer type magic in any of the official content? I want to make an artificer OC, but I wanted to know if there was any official reference to how an artificer would function in the official world.

No problem! Although I don't really know what's artificer magic 😅

Tried to google a little and my best guess is that it probably matches elf magic the best

They see magic as a complex system waiting to be decoded and then harnessed in their spells and inventions.

Elves also see magic as formulas

About the inventions part I guess the closest would be ancient artifacts. But in dungeon meshi they seem to be forbidden knowledge.

The dwarf leaders seem to use some technology tho, so perhaps only some is forbidden or they have special perks

Anyway I guess the tech and the magic do exist so I think it's possible? Unless I misunderstood whats an artificer lmao.

They'd probably have to be Elf since Dwarves cant use much magic, either that or a Gnome that for some reason uses elf-style magic (I imagine they wouldn't be welcome among other gnomes)

While Tallmen can use magic I think it's probable that they wouldn't be allowed to use the technology for being short-lived. So they'd be an outlaw maybe.

✨ firstly, thank you 😊 i know i arrived out of nowhere on this fandom scene like, what... 6 weeks ago?! despite having been a fan of R&S for ages, i've only ever appreciated on my own and not been in 'fandom'... so although i have way fewer stories of interactions and i've never been to the BFI 😭, i've never been made to feel like a lesser fan or unworthy somehow, and it's not felt like anything is gatekept. it's only been finding lovely people who appreciate other lovely people making lovely things and everyone has been immediately so open and welcoming 🤗

🚪 when we were stood outside the number 9 door last night just feeling the weight of the last few months now being over, it really was like finding your people 🌟

🙏 i'm scared i'll miss people but i'll try - @vagueeyes for spending the best part of 24h with me and traipsing around covent garden before the show where we discussed CAT bag discourse at length, @donotbelasagne for being a viewing partner technically twice now, @silverview for bringing us all together as our stage door lucky charm, @spcvarney and @varneysfangs for letting me live your previous r experiences vicariously and for being generally lovely , @misskite for sharing your unfathomable amount of R&S content, and @wintersoulwitch for inspiring me to write anything on tumblr at all without immediately dismissing it in my head as garbage. i hope i made up for the Great Twickets War of 2025 through my official ticket dealership 🙇‍♀️

but also EVERYONE that has ever interacted with any of my posts and made me feel less insane and more understood... this goes for you all as well ❤️

🌸 i actually wrote R&S an enormously soppy letter earlier in the run which i gave to them on my second viewing (and yep you guessed it, it was steve that took my gift bag)... who knows if they actually read it, but in any case it was very cathartic to write!!

i included a quote from a raymond carver short story in it (i know at least steve knows carver, because he mentions So Much Water So Close To Home (oh wow, where else have i heard that.....) in the commentary for la couchette). i included it only because i thought it captured the experience of stage/fright, and so much else of what they've created, much better than i could - the suspension of everyone in the worlds that they've created, and especially for stage/fright, the magic of live theatre...

I could hear my heart beating. I could hear everyone's heart. I could hear the human noise we sat there making, not one of us moving, not even when the room went dark. - What We Talk about When We Talk about Love

(it also gave me a thrill that about five lines before this, there's a line of dialogue in the story that is word for word - "I'll put out some cheese and crackers". 🤯)

💖 all to say that everything that we love or appreciate is often the passion project of a single person or couple of people. i am genuinely feeling a bit sad today but there is the tour to look forward to even though it feels AGES away..., but i've got a play/episode/screenplay that's sat in my writer's bottom drawer for nearly 10 years that maybe i can use the next 5 months to do something with. there's also a ton more posts i want to make about in9 and stage/fright and the experience of live theatre and fandom in general so hopefully they'll get written at some point too!! so thank you to R&S for getting me to the point of picking up a pen again 💜

You giggled and clung to his arm when he hauled you up. He rolled his eyes. He still couldn’t believe you’d talked him into this.

“This is fucking ridiculous,” he said. “You shouldn’t be—”

“Babe, I’m fine.” You snuggled close to your husband’s side, and his arm wrapped snugly around your waist. You watched the snow-laden streets of New York City pass by with the clomping of horse hooves.

“Next time, we’ll officially have another little passenger for the ride,” you said.

At that, Ben glanced down at you with a small smile. He laid his free hand over yours, resting comfortably over your pregnant belly.

Hey lovelies! 💌 With the event just around the corner, I wanted to gather up some of the most common questions I’ve received (plus a few things I may not have answered yet) into one warm, snuggly little post! Think of this as a soft blanket of clarity — here to help everyone feel comfy and informed. 🧸💫

🧸 When is Cozy Cuddles Week?

Cozy Cuddles Week will officially run from May 12th to May 18th, both dates included! That gives us seven full days of warmth, comfort, platonic snuggles, romantic flops, and all things soft.

📂 Where is the event taking place?

The main AO3 collection will open on May 12th first thing in the morning, and you’ll be able to post your fics there during the event. Tumblr posts and art are very welcome too! Just tag #CozyCuddlesWeek and other hashtags that will be posted soon enough and/or tag the blog so it can be reblogged.

💖 Is there a theme or goal?

Yes! This event is all about fluff, comfort, and softness — whether between lovers, friends, family, or found family. Warm hands, hugs, sleepy cuddles, laughter, healing — anything that leaves the reader/viewer smiling or going “awww.”

✨ Angst is allowed, but all entries should end in fluff or comfort. No tragic endings, no unresolved heartbreak — we’re tucking everyone in with good vibes by the end.

🚫 What content is not allowed?

No graphic violence, no death, no non-con/dub-con, no abuse, no SA, and no explicit 18+ sexual content. This is a soft event — think cozy blankets, not NSFW heatwaves.

(We’ll have a spice week in June for the spicy fun, promise! 🌶️)

🎲 Are the character/ship/prompt wheels mandatory?

Nope! They’re just for fun. If you’re stuck, want to be surprised, or just like spinning wheels of fate — they’re yours to play with. But if you already know exactly what/who you want to write or draw, go for it!

🧾 Are there prompts?

Yes! A prompt list will be shared (and updated throughout the week if more are submitted). You can use them, ignore them, remix them, or combine them however you like. They’re totally optional. There will also be daily prompts, like for Fluff Week!!!

👯 Do I have to write/draw something romantic?

Not at all! This event celebrates all kinds of softness. Platonic cuddles, sibling hugs, best friends bundled up on the couch, sleepy pets, even Elrond wrapped in a blanket burrito — it all counts.

🧙‍♀️ Is this only for TROP (The Rings of Power)?

Nope! It’s open to all of LOTR — movies, books, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, ROP, etc. If it’s Tolkien-verse and cozy? It belongs here.

🕹️ Are games planned?

Yes — there’ll be fun games, polls, and little activities like fic title generators wheels, meme prompts, character wheels, and more. All of it is optional and meant to be light-hearted and low-pressure!

✨ What if I’m shy or not sure I’ll finish in time?

No stress! Whether you post one drawing, a short drabble, or just cheer from the sidelines — you’re part of the event. No pressure, just vibes. And there will be a time extension, just like for Fluff Week!!

🌟 Can I submit actor x reader/character content?

Yes, absolutely — actor x reader/character works are welcome, as long as they’re respectful and not written in a way that encourages parasocial or unhealthy dynamics.
