My perception of him:

• Hated his guts as a kid. Always treated me like I was a spoiled and pampered brat (technically true).

• Begrudgingly respected his strength and independence even though we were kids (main reason why i had a crush on him).

• Somewhat as someone who saved me when I was being hunted down by Marines and went MIA.

• I'd always tease him about the contrast between his more...aloof and harsh persona to the polite and friendly captain that everyone looks up to.

• Warm and safe.

His perception of me:

• Also hated my guts as a kid.

• Sadomasochisticly thought it was nice to pick fights with me (found some comfort that I still stayed despite how much we fought and bickered).

• Will never say it out loud to me but he has bragged about my usage of my devil fruit in navigation, information gathering, and etc.

• Thinks it's interesting how I went from a spoil and pampered wanna-be Marine brat to a bit more mature yet somewhat whimsical navigator to his pirate crew.

• Views me strangely as someone he can be comfortably selfish with as well as a steady presence that he trusts to stay beside him no matter what.

🍧 SHAVED ICE - do they still have any objects from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it?

Gosh. This is REALLY interesting. Let me see...

Fiore: I think their parents passed a lot of their childhood belongings onto them for Catarina, especially as they weren't super wealthy at the time but also for sentimental reasons. They'll have kept things like sweaters from their own childhood that Catarina then wore. I think they still have some of their old schoolbooks but more of the cute, younger stuff than the more high school level ones. They probably also have some bits and bobs of ornaments and things. They'd be pretty sad if they lost them.

Korzha: I can't decide if they don't have anything, or if they have a couple of things that they keep safe somewhere. I'll have a think.

Matia: I think they still have some things that their parents have held onto. Maybe some semi-heirloom sorts of things like a particular fishing knife that belonged to their great grandmother or something, which is sentimental for them and they'd feel sad if they lost. I feel like their parents were maybe the sort to keep their room as it was when they left home for at least a few years after they were gone. There's probably some bits around that they insist that they don't need anymore that their parents still have, haha!

Raffi: yeah they have a bunch of things especially stuff like things their dad and their siblings made for them as gifts, craft projects, letters from their older sister after she left their island home, old clothes and so on. Some of their clothes have been handed on to their younger brother but there are probably still some around. They're happy to hand on practical things but would be sad to lose sentimental bits.

Savarel: does not feel very connected to items from their childhood. They will have kept some things from deceased relatives, but have likely left them with their family in Roque Village rather than taking them around with them - they are only just starting to put down roots and aren't quite used to it yet. In general they gave away what could be used or enjoyed, and threw away what couldn't anymore.

🍃 FALLING LEAF - do they enjoy being in nature? what is their favourite outdoor activity?

Fiore: not much of a wilderness person and they don't really miss doing loads of outdoor fieldwork but they like chilling in gardens or in woodland.

Korzha: they like the outdoors and enjoy starlit walks most of all, but just generally spotting wildlife is something they get a lot out of.

Matia: they like orienteering, hiking, and climbing hills or mountains. They're very comfortable navigating wild places.

Raffi: enjoys stomping around the place well enough but their favourite thing is to get in water, whether that's paddling or swimming.

Savarel: is perfectly happy to look at or be in a beautiful landscape, but they don't have a particular activity that they hanker for.

omg... it has to be eof... it's yet another dc comics fic, except it's tim drake/oc! basically the mc, leah, gets spider powers and has to learn how to navigate them with tim's 'help.' and the caveat there, of course, is that he is technically helping her but also monitoring her progress/development to make sure she isn't a threat to the city, as in specifically cataloguing information about her powers as a sort of contingency plan 'just in case' and she has no idea he's doing Any Of That because she thinks he's just helping her mostly out of the kindness of his own heart. but then they actually get to be friends!! but then he's wayyy past the point of no return and plus batman Does Not like meta-humans (what leah technically is now) in 'his' city and is disapproving of her going out there as a vigilante (technically aided by tim but batman Does Not know this) and its basically a whole mess of lies and it will definitely totally be fine when it all unravels (it will not).

(not technically spoilers either just 'cause you kinda go in knowing tim is not totally helping leah out of kindness but she doesn't know that; there's just so much drama and i think it's the fic i get to showcase tim's flaws the most which is so fun)

Lucille has nearly every childhood keepsake but most importantly, she has all of her journals that she’s been writing in since she was a little girl. They hold just about every feeling she’s ever experienced, from mundane musings of childhood to the feeling of loss as she grows out of girlhood and feels more of the weight of her family’s responsibilities placed on her shoulders. If she were to lose them, she would probably have a bit of a breakdown, honestly; they’re a grounding force for her, something that steadies her when she feels most unbalanced.

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

Lucille’s favorite flowers are daisies, so those would be the main centerpiece of the bouquet. There would also be stephanotis, hydrangea flowers, sprigs of lavender, and marsdenia.

📖 OPEN BOOK - do they like reading? what's their favourite genre?

She loves reading. It’s one of her favorite pastimes, aside from painting. I don’t really think she’d have a favorite genre, but I think she’d absolutely love the Romantic movement.

Lucille is the ultimate self-sacrificer, not because she’s an altruist by any means, but because she feels like she has no choice—and, quite honestly, also because her family made her feel like she had no choice. Her family, while they all love each other, put so much of their burdens on Lucille because she was the only one who was both still able to shoulder them (unlike Elizabeth and Sophia) while not being strong-willed enough to resist (unlike Katherine and Anna). Her passivity, with her love for her family, is her biggest downfall and it’s led to her turning into someone who doesn’t quite know how to navigate the things she wants because she’s never had the space to actually think about it. Everything she wants for herself has been repressed because it comes into direct conflict with the good of her family or with the opposing desires of anyone else involved and she’ll always let someone else have their happiness before fighting for her own.

🔥 FIRE - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?

Passivity, like I said before. She’s unwilling and unable to speak up for herself and I think a part of her almost likes that pain of not being able to get what she wants. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy of never having to worry about being turned away because it’s her doing. She bites the hand that feeds her and leaves plants to die because if she’s the one killing them, they’re not dying on her before she’s done loving them.

💌 LOVE LETTER - do they like love letters? what kind of messages do they leave for their partner?

Lucille is definitely a love letter kind of gal. She’s an artist in all senses of the word: A painter, a pianist, a writer, a dancer—she loves any kind of expression as a form of art, and that comes across a lot in the letters she writes and the letters she wants to receive. For Monty, she would definitely leave anything from small notes around the home to long, four to five page letters detailing what it is exactly that she feels for him. As a big reader, she has a very strong connection to the power of language and she doesn’t just use it herself, but she also wants someone to utilize it for her.

6月2日 - Free Day | Sweets, Rain, and Karaoke

Today was our first free day which I was super excited about. It rained all day, adding to the coziness and slow pace atmosphere. While the day began chill and relaxing, it quickly took a turn into intense adventure and navigation. And it all started because an old friend and I from Japan wanted to simply meet and hang out (which was really fun despite practically walking through a typhoon to get to her).

Lulu Cafe ☕️🥞

After sleeping past 9 AM, I went with two classmates to a local cafe only a 15-minute walk from the ryokan. The cafe was in a hotel and was quite modern, small, and chic. We all got French toast which was gorgeous visually and deliciously sweet. The French toast was topped with French vanilla ice cream, and the toast was warm, fluffy, and had an eggy taste (which was surprisingly great). In addition to the rainy mood outside, I enjoyed a lovely relaxing morning.

Resting back at the Ryokan 🏨♨️

After the cafe, I returned to the ryokan to rest for a few hours before making my way to Nishi-Waseda station to meet with my old friend from high school of 4 years who currently attends Waseda University. Unfortunately, we could never meet in person as she was supposed to study abroad in Florida, but it sadly got canceled due to the pandemic. So as I waited for the time to leave out, I relaxed in the 6th-floor lounge area for a bit. It was nice and quiet as most people were out and about for the day.

Subway Line Confusion 🚉💳

In trying to meet up with my friend, I got on the wrong connecting train opposite of the Nishi-Waseda station (though I did manage to get on the right line, just the wrong platform). Luckily she helped me out, and we met at Meiji jinngumae. It was so nice to finally see her face to face and embrace each other in warm hugs.

IKEA 🪑🛋️

First, on our list of things to do together, we just had to go into an Ikea. As an architecture and interior design major, my friend has found solace in looking through Ikea in her free time. And as an HGTV connoisseur, I, too, enjoy looking at furniture and imagining false scenarios of where I would place each piece in a fictional house for my client (obviously rich, of course). We also ate kiwi ice cream while we critiqued the make and design choice of the furniture displayed in Ikea, which was very 美味しい (‘oishii”).

Hachiya 🍧✨

After critiquing all the displayed furniture in Ikea, we had to eat more trendy sweets, of course. So we went to a nearby shaved ice place called “hachiya” (I think that’s what it was called). The shaved ice was massive, and the flavor we got was tiramisu with coffee filling. While chowing down on the delicious sweet, we had equally delicious conversations about various topics (boys, musicals, fashion, university, etc.)

Karaoke 🎤🎵

Once full of sweets, we went to a karaoke place where we sang our hearts out to Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, and a couple of Vocaloid songs. It was fun to adlib, dance, and joke around together as we put on quite the performance. It was also my first time ever going to a karaoke place!

With karaoke wrapping down, my host sister needed to make her way home, and I needed to return back to my ryokan to complete my blog post. Despite my free day starting out chill, I actually ended up pleasantly meeting and spending precious time with my friend. Connections and friendships made internationally are important to maintain. So while I could’ve canceled on my friend and stayed inside while the rain surged on, choosing to spend time with her was more valuable and precious than I ever could have imagined. You never know how long you have with those close to you, so I think if today reaffirmed anything for me, it would be to take the opportunities when you’re able to spend with loved ones; you never know the effect and lasting memories it’ll have not only on them but you as a person.

I just spent over 9 hours editing this 🤬 goddamn Tumblr page trying to figure out how to make more 🔎 tag search suggestions! I did so much trial and error. Individual links would not work in the sidebar. I spent hours trying to find what was wrong with my code 🤪. Nothing was wrong! Then, I tried button links in the sidebar. That didn't work well either. After that, I tried individual copy tag buttons in the sidebar. Nerp! Finally, I just made a link page which worked 😮‍💨😌. Now it will be much easier to find relevant tags in the "Tag Search suggestions." link. I'm so exhausted. Now that I have figured out how to make my page do what I want, I will eventually add more search suggestions on frequently used tags. 🥰 Love Ya sweeties🍧!
