see this is where I have to separate my enjoyment of watching penn perform from actually thinking about his characters and which ones are my favorite.

I guess I have three roles of his that I truly enjoy.

1. Woodchuck Todd - the man is the embodiment of dream boyfriend material. genuine, kind, social, compassionate, and just the right amount of goofy. I wished he was in the movie more than he was, but I get that badgley had gossip girl obligations.

2. Jeff Buckley - so I never watched "greetings from tim buckley" BUT I have seen clips and gifs from the movie, and you can just tell that this role mattered to badgley. there was nuance and soul to his performance, and I think that it really made movie (again, from what I've seen.)

3. Joe Goldberg - okay, okay, okay. let's get the whole "murderer, stalker, and genuine creep" statement out there; I don't condone the actions of the character, and there are many times where I hate the character with a passion (s4 finale.. I'm looking at YOU.) However, I very much respect how penn portrays Joe; he's all the aforementioned traits listed and many more negative characteristics, but he isn't so cartoon-like that I cannot take him seriously as a character. there is much depth to Joe, and his journey to the character he is now (worse. much much worse). all of this is to say, I love to hate him, but also hate to love him.

Nach dem ich einen ziemlich schrecklichen Neujahrstag hatte, hab ich mir mitten in der Nacht noch den Decoder Ring podcast angemacht und da ging es um paper dolls. Und mein Gehirn sofort: asdfgdfasdfa ✨DREI FRAGEZEICHEN PAPER DOLLS✨

Seit dem habe ich daran gearbeitet. Natürlich nicht ständig und ausschließlich, aber es war schon zeimlich viel Arbeit 🥴 ich kann halt kein digital und hab das alles per Handarbeit analog gebastelt.

SIMON HCS!!!!

- when someone dropped some of the lotf play lore about simon's name being "Cambourne" i saw a few ppl have an irrational hatred of it lmfaooo and i told my friends about his last name and somehow they were like "NO SIMON OF MINE WILL HAVE THE LAST NAME 'CAMBOURNE'" 💀 so i did a lil bit of research and gave him the last name "Celeste" instead because apparently it comes from the word "heavenly" in Latin and it just sounds cooler. if you hate the surname "Cambourne" for Simon dude actually ayo hol up lemme know in the comments down below and give your take on why you hate it, im always down to read other ppl's opinions and hot takes frrr

- Simon is actually REALLY good at singing but he's just rlly quiet so he gets drowned out by the other members of the choir 😭

- He was always considered an outcast at school, and some ppl talked smack about him (including Ralph)

- Has anemia from iron deficiency, which causes him to faint

- His hallucinations went undiagnosed because his parents didnt have enough money to see a doctor

- His favorite animal is (and always will be) a lizard :3

- someone already said this already so shoutout to them but Jack chose Simon to be a part of his choir because he found him singing alone during recess in one of those places in schools with just trees and grass and Jack was like "nah bro you're coming with me COME HERE" and he straight up dragged him over to where his choir was. Simon was just confused the whole time but Jack was like "guys, this is Simon. He's one of Da BOYZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" and everyone started cheering

- Simon had pretty mid grades (ranging from low C's to low B's) but that doesn't stop him from being a sweetheart to literally everyone 😭✨✨✨

- Roger was basically the older brother figure Simon had always wanted. They hang out sometimes just to practice for choir performances and to just chill.

Day 15 is almost a wrap and we are halfway through the MAYbe I Can! May Challenge! How’s everyone feeling? Have you enjoyed it so far? Has it benefited your mental and or physical wellness? I certainly hope so!

Just wanted to take a moment to personally thank EVERYONE who has chosen to join in on this challenge. Some of you report in almost daily and I thank you for making time to do that. I know life gets busy and it isn’t always easy but your efforts are appreciated. Some check in when able and that’s great too, again thank you for sticking with this. And others are working quietly on the side and doing what works for them and I applaud that as well.

Overall I’ve found all the positivity, accountability, flexibility and creativity to be an amazing source of inspiration to keep myself honest, accountable and on track. I hope it has helped provide some healthy mental and physical benefits along the way for everyone else!

I apologize if I’ve missed any updates or check ins from anyone along the way. I’ve had my ups and downs as well and some days it felt like all I could do to just get my own time in. But I’ve tired my best to leave positive encouragement for everyone along the way.

So this is just a huge shoutout and congrats to EVERYONE for making it halfway. You’re all killing it, you all help inspire me daily and you are all AWESOME. Bring on the last half of the month. We’re all going to go from thinking, Maybe I Can?… to…Look What I DID!! 🙌

Book Recommendation Tag Game 📚

The last book I read:

The Greatest Hits of Harlan Ellison (edition with the foreward by Neil Gaiman and Cassandra Khaw). With the random online resurgence of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (and some of the worst takes I’ve ever had the misfortune of seeing) I had to re-read some Ellison to assure myself we’d read the same material… but yeah. Highly recommend. 👍👍

A book I recommend

Pretty much everything in this post, but specifically this year I’ve gotten like four of my friends to read The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. It’s an easy read sci fi with so much heart, easily one of my new favorites.

A book I couldn’t put down

Juniper & Thorn by Ava Reid. I read it last year in one sitting and still think about it like once a week. The love interest really resonated with me and this book genuinely made me feel sick to my stomach from how well some of the content was portrayed.

A book I’ve read twice (or more)

I am not typically a re-reader but I have an extensive collection of John Keats and Percy Shelley, a lot of their works I have read and re-read and own several versions of.

A book on my TBR

Lud-in-the-Mist by Hope Mirrlees! I actually added this to my TBR because of a video Tim Downie made a while back and I just haven’t gotten to it yet because I’ve limited my new books until we make our cross-country move.

A book/series I’ve put down

Too many to count, I’m a notorious DNF-er. Finishing a book/series I’m fairly sure I’ll dislike usually just feels like a waste of time to me when there’s so many books I want to read. Here’s just a short list of recent ones, no offense if this is anyone’s favorite: The Dresden Files (hate Jim Butcher’s self insert and don’t like the mash of lazy lore he uses), Everything SJM (read her when I was in HS but she continually ruins the only characters I like and the author is just in general not a good person), Iron Flame (I hated fourth wing, rated it 2 stars, don’t know why I even tried other than it just being absolutely everywhere)

The Djinn Waits A Hundred Years by Shubnum Khan and Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno-Garcia have both been on my list for a while and as soon as we move they’ll be some of the first I grab physical copies of

A favorite book from childhood

HOLES BY LOUIS SACHAR 📢📢📢 my childhood copy was so well loved that it was missing its front and back cover I love this book so much. Also a shoutout to two of my other childhood favorites: Howl’s Moving Castle and Maximum Ride.

A book you would give to a friend

Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb. I love the liveship trilogy so much that I always keep two copies of Ship of Magic. One is my personal copy of the first edition cover that matches the rest of my trilogy, the other has the newer cover and I lend that one out to friends.

I have several collections of John Keats and Percy Shelley. A personal favorite is my copy that has my annotated “A Defence of Poetry”

Seven Days, Six Nights this was my first fic actually set in the TLOU universe - it was somewhat easy to write because the background of aesthetics has already been made by the creators, but difficult because the TLOU universe was intimidating to write in! glad I overcame the fear and wrote it

Table For Two (Series) do I even have to explain? anyone who knows me knows that tft is my passion piece, I love Frankie and getting to explore and write in my own details of his life/personality is so fun! check it out!

On Call I think this was my first Javi work and I tied it into a show that I love a lot, Grey's Anatomy!
