#'actually all of these headcanons are tragic as much as they are hilarious' you say

For Scum Villain fandom specifically I have to say that the deciding factor in whether I adopt a headcanon or not is whether I think it's funny.
Do I think Shen Yuan was ill in his first life? Yes, because I think it's extremely funny if he was ill in his first life, got a brand new life with superpowers (cultivation) and boosted health, and then immediately got slapped with another fucking chronic illness (Without-A-Cure.) I think that is the funniest sequence of events and thus the correct one.
Do I think that Shen Yuan was on the very low end of his twenties, barely college-age, when he transmigrated? Yes, because I think it's hilarious if the rest of the Peak Lords have unknowingly been "shixiong"ing a fuckin sophmore
And lastly, do I think that Shen Jiu never went to the brothels for sex and ultimately died a virgin? Yes, because that sets the stage for SY!SQQ to later trip over some kind of virginity-detecting critter or plant (you KNOW the PIDW setting has to have these somewhere, c'mon), not even knowing that it's something he has to think about avoiding, and whoops getting outed as a virgin in front of the entire cultivation world, and that would be hilarious

Marx will always be the most hilarious Kirby villain to me.
Tumblr media
He has by far the funniest motivation out of any villain. Most other villains are either big bad conquerors, or are barely sapient as they're just embodiments of hatred/evil, or are minions of greater baddies, or have tragic backstories that led to them being villains, or a combination of the listed criteria there.
But Marx is literally none of that. He just did what he did for the hell of it. He had no real reason to do what he did other than just for kicks and giggles. He did it because he thought it was funny.
Magolor pulled a similar stunt, but he counts as a "big bad conqueror" as he attempted universal conquest. Marx however didn't even care to conquer. He asked Nova to give him enough power to be capable of causing all the mischief he wanted, which is what he literally outright says after making that wish. He just wanted to turn Popstar into his personal stomping ground where he can run rampant with mischief.
This guy is literally the biggest troll of the franchise. I love him for it.
And the funniness doesn't stop there. After defeating him in his boss fight, when you punt him to make him crash onto Nova, you'd think that impact would've been more than enough to kill him....
... But nah, he suddenly comes back out of nowhere in Star Allies! And the lore does even not bother explaining how he survived the Nova impact, LOL. How in the world did he survive that? Unless you're someone that doesn't actually regard dream friends in Star Allies being canon and interpret Marx staying dead. I get that. I personally see it as canon, though.
Another hilarious thing is that he acts as a boss in the credits of the good ending of Heroes in Another Dimension. Basically, after the important stuff is over, Marx then goes right back to being a little shit that causes problems on purpose. Showing that he's still the biggest troll of the franchise.
It's also funny how enigmatic Marx is in the lore. It's unclear whether he actually legitimately redeemed himself or not. I'd say it's valid to headcanon him as either being redeemed or still being a bad guy. Interpretations of Marx vary. They range from being just a silly little dude to still being a literal bastard that's still up to something sinister.
As much as I'd love to see Marx get used in Kirby games more, I actually hope they don't give him a backstory. Or at least, don't give him a tragic one. I think he stands out if he were to stay as just a troll without a sob story, as opposed to many other villains who are more tragic. I bet he'd lie about his origins, too, which would also be funny.
Marx is truly one of the characters of all time, in my opinion. He might not have as much substance behind him as many of the later villains in Kirby, but with the material that we do have, he's truly something.

you should share some of your favorite headcanons about omega/team dark with us. i’m in your inbox encouraging you to be as self-indulgent as possible. your last fic has me enamored, i want to hear about everything ever actually but that’s a good place to start 👀
My eyes stopped reading at "self indulgent" so get ready for my wordy, OOC, vibe-based take on Omega! Hold onto your butts, everyone, this is a long one.
To put it simply, there is no Team Dark without Omega.
Because while Shadow and Rouge are so concerned with coming off as Rational People Who Have Their Shit Together, Omega is completely, utterly, unabashedly himself. He's a rebel without a cause, in a way that rebelling against everything tends to cancel out on each other. I sound absolutely off my rocker when I say this, but Omega has a very similar vibe to Sonic for me. Of all the Sonic characters, second to guy himself, Omega is actually the one most concerned with personal freedom. This robot's fundamental tragic backstory is that he spent the first year of his life locked away in a basement, and now he's going to make it everyone's problem. Autonomy is his #1 guiding rationale. He does what he wants, he says what he wants, he kills what he wants.
He got hit with the "You are what you choose to be" thing that most fictional robots with guns strapped to them undergo, except he fully embraced being himself over being kind or moral.
. . . and this is why it bothers me so much when Omega is written as stiff and "logical" in Team Dark fics.
Shadow is the one that has the "stiff" thing covered for the entire team, since getting him to emote is like trying to unstick an industrial-grade magnet from the side of the fridge. Omega, on the contrary, is the one who challenges the status quo at all times, forcing Shadow (and to some extent Rouge) out of their comfort zones. He is the bringer of chaos! He doesn't care much about logic at all, not since he decided that his main response to every problem was calculating how many bullets he can fill it with. What most people get stuck on is the fact that he sounds like a stereotypical robot, his big words and clinical phrasing acting like camouflage to the enormous seething bundle of rage he is at all times.
And that's just the thing- Omega is proud that he's a robot. He's not going to try and talk more like a meatbag! Who do you think he is? He embraces having an extensive dictionary in his databanks, allowing him to pick the perfect word. He embraces his ability to calculate data at a rate no organic brain could hope to compare with. And oh, he's proud to flaunt both of those to show why he thinks he's right all of the time, but this doesn't mean he allows himself to be dictated by "rational logic". The only thing dictating him is himself. However, he's happy to let people assume that he is the most objective one in the room, either for his own advantage or because he thinks it's funny.
And GOSH is this robot fucking hilarious. He is absolutely the comic relief of Team Dark, but you have to understand that it's not in the way most people think. Most people write Omega being funny only in an incidental way- "haha, the killer robot doesn't understand things!" -but this kind of writing makes me see red. Look at me. Look me in the eyes. Say it with me: Omega is funny on purpose. He gets power out of making people do a double-take in his direction!! He wants to make people uncomfortable!!! He loves "owning" people!!! He wants to be the prevailing force in any social interaction, and to make people laugh is to have power over them.
And all of this, all of this, all of this, makes him a character foil to Shadow, which is why he's an essential spice when you're mixing up a fic about Team Dark. You've got the robot who knows exactly who he is in the same room as the guy who's whole narrative is about having an identity crisis. And they're both stubborn as hell about it. Omega challenges Shadow at every turn, in a way that makes Shadow reflect on his actions and who he wants to be.
Without Omega, it's only Shadow and Rouge. And don't get me wrong, these two are delightful on their own. Rouge has a dramatic streak in her, but it tends to mellow out when Shadow's around, since he himself is a very serious person. They tend to slow each other down. Remind each other to take breaks. Keep each other in check. And all of this is good! They need that kind of stabilizing effect that the other has, but sometimes this effect can bring each other to a standstill if they're not careful enough. Omega is the driving force that keeps them going, keeps them improving upon themselves, keeps them clawing their way forwards. He reminds them that at the end of the day, there's always a bigger picture (and that bigger picture is serving Eggman's head on a platter, but you get the idea. He's helping.)
Rouge supports Shadow. I agree with all the common fanon about this one, but allow me to add this- Omega helps Rouge support Shadow. He makes sure that she doesn't burn herself out by slipping into "overprotective friend" mode too often. He reminds her, sometimes harshly if necessary, that Shadow will survive despite getting triggered or angry sometimes. He tells her to take care of herself, stating "I REQUIRE MY TEAMMATES TO KEEP THEMSELVES FUNCTIONAL. I WILL NOT GO OUT OF MY WAY TO SAVE IDIOTIC SELF-SACRIFICING TEAMMATES". (And he's not lying here, not in the slightest; he relies on Rouge and Shadow to keep themselves alive. This was never even a debate. They know this. It encourages them to not be quite so reckless.)
To finish off this absolute monster of a post, let's ask ourselves one more question- what's Omega getting out of all of this, then? The simple answer is the talents of the world's best thief and the power of the hedgehog who can explode on command. And really, that's what it started with. Omega didn't get assigned on a team with these two hoping to make friends. The "friends" part didn't come along until later, much later, and even he's not sure how quite to handle it.
I received a lovely ask earlier from the person who provided this ask to me, which my fat butterfingers managed to delete from my inbox before I could answer, but I do remember one very specific idea that they suggested- Omega never pretended to be nice. It'd be weirder for Rouge and Shadow if he ever did. He was always transparent about how he considered them means to an end when it came to seeing his objectives complete. In order to utilize these means most effectively, he needed to maintain them. This meant learning more about them to ensure that they functioned at optimum capacity.
"Friendship" began with making sure they got enough sleep and that they ate their meals on time. Then came investigation into emotional damage, spurred no doubt by one of Shadow's panic attacks. Soon enough, Omega is learning everything about these meatbags, and in the process, he's. . . learning about what it feels like to be treated as a person?
Because there was never any mistake in Omega's processor about the fact that he's a person. He came to that conclusion long before Shadow and Rouge entered the picture. But he'd never been treated like one before. Hell, he hadn't even seen how a person was supposed to be treated by the world before he met those two. Now he's in a position where he's being treated with respect for the first time by these two meatbags while at the same time being able to observe how the rest of the world doesn't extend that same courtesy. He drew conclusions very quickly- in order to keep being respected by these two, he'd have to reciprocate their engagements and respect them back. One thing leads to another and now he finds that his attachment runs deeper than considering them mere "assets". He still doesn't quite know how to handle this, which is why, when pressed, he'll tend to stick to denial about it.
(There's definitely a "five times Omega denied that he cared and then the one time he admitted it" fic to be written about this, if you know what I mean.)
So, in a very stereotypical robot sense, he does learn about friendship and emotion and personhood and all that from Rouge and Shadow. But he's VERY closeted about it, as he'd rather deactivate than admit that he didn't, in fact, have everything figured out about himself since day one.
There is no Team Dark without Omega. But also, there is no Omega without Team Dark. Rouge and Shadow have been fundamental influences on him. People who write Omega as not having changed in demeanor much at all from other Badniks are so off the mark about this. To be loved is to be changed- and this robot is loved by his friends, and he loves them back in his own way!!!

My Good Omens Season 3 fan project
I spent most of my day fleshing out "my 3rd season of good omens" and I have to say I'm pretty damn proud of it. It's structured in 6 episodes and all.
I don't know if I'll have the time and patience to type everything. I wrote it on a notebook. I'd actually prefer to make a podcast or maybe a video narrating everything, but I guess people prefer to go to AO3 or something like that...
Some "spoilers" of my headcanon:
* hilarious scene of Crowley doing confession in a cathedral in Oxford to get a chance to talk to the priest (Crowley wears a full body raincoat and extra padded boots).
* Aziraphale starts the story overseeing the 7 angels practice playing their trumpets (they need to be ready for when the 7th seal is broken) as part of the insufferably useless corporate routine the metatron imposed on him. Another one is supervising incense production. Lots of incence in the book of revelation.
* there's a crown court hearing/ trial taking place at Oxford (that's a real thing and real name, I didn't make it up) that moves the plot forward. There are 12 jurors as a reference to the 12 apostles (that's the real number of jurors for these cases). The trial at Oxford triggers flashbacks to Crowley's trial. Back in Crowley's trial, Aziraphale tries to testify in his favor but the heads of Heaven, especially the metatron, subvert everything he says to make Crowley (Starmaker back then) look guilty. An angel - none other than Pre-Fall Dagon - comes in as accusation witness, Crowley says hey, you rebelled too! And dagon says they were a special spy infiltrated under superior orders and all their actions will be pardoned in exchange for them testifying. Dagon's testimony seals Crowley's destiny, and later, once all the rebels have been sentenced, Heaven sentences Dagon to hell anyway claiming the deal was invalid because of some ridiculous technicality. Season 1 was a chase story, season 2 was a mystery story, season 3 is a trial story (not exclusively, of course, but it's important. The whole theme of the second coming is Christ judging everyone, one by one. There's no escaping the "judgement" theme here) (I'm a lawyer so I'm pretty confident to approach this theme).
* did you know that Milton Keynes was designated as a new town in 1967? Do you know what else happened in 1967 in season 1? And do you know that both Crowley and Aziraphale took credit for Milton Keynes to their respective head offices, in the book? Put 2+2 together and we get an amazing flashback including Aziraphale and Crowley's first ever dinner at the Ritz! (for reasons I already explained in another post, no, they don't kiss before the s2 scene, so hold your horses).
* possibly a flashback of Aziraphale and Crowley during the wars of religion in Wales that serves to showcase some of their conversations trying to understand Christ's message and why humans misanderstand him so much. It's included for a number of reasons: we need to have something in Wales for Michael Sheen (now that David Tennant got to do his Scottish accent!) plus they really should talk about how ironic and tragic it is that so many people have killed each other over religious differences concerning Christ's message of peace and love among all persons and all peoples. Including the commandment of not killing each other. Seems to have gone right past people somehow. (this flashback also helps to give us some lighthearted Aziracrow early on, because Aziraphale and Crowley only really hit it off again by the end of episode 3 and only really get back together in episode 4).
* a new human character named Abel J. Ryuss has an important role as well. His full name is Abel James Ryuss. We get some 4 ou 5 new human characters that are important to the plot.
* Crowley kind of calls attention on a new human prophet and "outs" him as a prophet by accident and the dude ends up becoming a famous influencer - aka the modern equivalent of a prophet.
* the story begins with 4 out of 7 of the apocalypse seals already broken (aka the 4 riders of the apocalypse). When the 5th seal breaks, the dead arise. When the 6th seal breaks, in episode 5, Gabriel and Beelzebub return. But they're foreshadowed in episode 4 by the appearance of a blue bird with a fly flying around it in a tree in the background.
* the trio of angels: Michael, Uriel and Saraquiel each makes very different choices and have very different endings. One is irrelevant, one is killed and one ends up as the supreme archangel.
* heaven has at least 3 different factions with different agendas working to their own ends simultaneously. Hell has 2.
* catastrophical destruction followed by huge battle.
* In the end Gabriel and Beelzebub become consultants.
* careful with those to claim to speak for God.
* a marriage at south downs - and it's not Crowley and Aziraphale's! It's another couple we love. Aziraphale and Crowley needed a reason to go to south downs in the first place. Then they can take a walk and stumble upon a lovely cottage that just happens to be for sale.

do you think there's anything to be implied about the quality of rwby's writing and framing in light of how much of the audience misinterprets salem/oz and the role of the gods? i see so many people reading the lost fable as a straightforward condemnation of salem and ozma as a pretty basic tragic hero that it makes me nervous about the future of the show and that IM reading too much into things when i see more nuance in salem. are that many people really that shallow when engaging with rwby? idk
nah people arewell tbh i think what it comes down to mainly is that fandom is not really centered around critical analysis, it’s centered on transformative engagement, and while these are by no means mutually exclusive endeavors they are in fact. Different. analytical vs transformative approaches to the text are different endeavors with different goals requiring different skillsets and can but do not inherently overlap. frankly in fandom spaces i think real textual analysis is not just ancillary but actively discouraged; nobody is quicker to respond to analytical discussions with “it’s not that deep” than a fan who doesn’t like the discussion and there is a noticeable tendency in fandom spaces for any analysis that isn’t 100% ebullient to be read as negativity or critical—e.g. note the frequency with which my reading of ozma is interpreted as character bashing—which isn’t to say that fandoms do not engage analytically at all, but in broad terms there is something of an unspoken… chilliness toward textual analysis in fandom culture. and i am saying this from the perspective of having written a lot of textual analysis and a lot of fanfiction across different fandoms; there is A Pattern. you write a detailed analytical breakdown of your reading of a character and see people tagging it fandom negativity while gushing about the detailed character study you wrote based on that same reading enough times and you start to pick up on the fact that maybe fandoms are not really built for analytical engagement. there is also the whole thing where fandom has an entire category of headcanon predicated on “this thing happened in the text but i don’t like it so no it didn’t” and a second entire category predicated on “this has no basis and is possibly out of character but i like it so happened actually” lmao [TO BE CLEAR THIS IS NOT A VALUE JUDGMENT I HAVE NONSENSE HEADCANONS ALSO ITS FINE.]
anyway this is all fine but! because fandoms devote the bulk of their collective energy into pouring out vast endless streams of like, fanfic and fanart and headcanon and “ship dynamics” [i still do not quite understand what these are] and incorrect quote mills and so forth you tend to get a sort of collective flattening of the text. there is a tendency for characters to be stripped down and reduced to small easily-manageable sets of tropes derived more from aesthetics and first impressions and for any moral complexity to be boiled down to simple black and white and for unique worldbuilding to be smudged a bit until it resembles its nearest recognizable trope. there is a sort of creative entropy. a smooth surface is easier to write on. also sometimes fans do not Obsessively Rewatch The Show four times in the space of a year and over time details get memetically blurred and this, obviously, is detrimental to the overall fidelity-to-canon of popular fanon.
and then like the thing to remember about rwby is it’s a very detail-oriented story, and one that respects its audience. the one downside of that storytelling approach is that fandom is uniquely ill-equipped for it (think about how many people Completely Missed that ironwood was on the express train to fascism land in V4-5 even though. the narrative made it like. hilariously obvious)
In Summary i lived through the fandom where the protagonist after two years of increasingly toxic behavior towards her bestie, charbroiled her friend’s arm into a shriveled blackened husk and not only did not apologize but had a whole episode about being mad at the friend for being upset and then 95% of the fandom was shocked when the friend went “fuck you” and stole the magical artifact whose power was involved in the charbroiling incident all of four episodes later; and almost two years later half the remaining is still Discoursing about how the friend “didn’t have a reason” for betraying the protagonist. tts was a show written with small children in mind. i have witnessed Actual Forty Year Olds insisting that this character’s betrayal was petty and childish. rwby is a lot more tightly-written and nuanced and not a disney princess cartoon and while it does benefit from its fandom not being mostly Disney People the fandom is still. A Fandom. doing what fandoms… do.

Haha. Kazuya. You understand.
one aspect about them i love
THEM TIDDIES
but fr he has his whole aesthetic on point. and I will say. him face. nice
one aspect i wish more people understood about them
HE'S A TRAGIC CHARACTER. HE'S SOOO DOOMED IN ANY WAY BC CHARACTERS LIKE HIM ARE MEANT TO BE PUT DOWN IN A SATISFYING STORY. HE HAS WINGS AT HIS STRONGEST BC THE MOST DEFINING MOMENT OF HIS LIFE WAS FALLING OFF A CLIFF. HE'S ON TOP OF THE WORLD, THE HIGHEST HE'S EVER BEEN, BUT HE'S NEVER TRULY LEFT THE BOTTOM OF THAT CLIFF. HE'S ALONE UP THERE. HE'S A CONTROL FREAK WHOM YOU NEVER KNOW IF HE IS ACTUALLY FULLY IN CONTROL (IF AT ALL) IF YOU REALLY STOP TO THINK ABOUT IT. HE'S SOOO COMPLEX BUT WE'VE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO DWELVE INTO THAT COMPLEXITY. HE'S A REALLY INTERESTING CHARACTER AND I DIE INSIDE WHEN THEY KEEP PUSHING HIM INTO THE "PURE EVIL" BOX WHEN EVEN WHEN HE MADE THOSE CHOICES HE STILL IS NOT!!! I FEEL LIKE AN INSANE PERSON WHEN I SAY THERE IS SMTH SO EXTREMELY COMPELLING ABOUT KAZUYA MISHIMA.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character
- hes still alive in the tekken:tmp timeline since jun successfully "saved" him, and while the familial situation isnt the best it could be, its still far better than you'd expect with jun and jin
- he doesnt even consider himself fully human anymore but hes truly at his core Just A Guy. take the morning coffee. collect shoes. eat boring food. hes a very plain guy and its hilarious. what does he even do all day, the role of a ceo is to make connections and relationships and hes a shadow ceo. he is so painfully A Man In His Fifties that if you remove the tekken context he could grill a mean steak I know this in my heart, what do japanese dads even do for a bbq equivalent.
- kazumi styled his hair Like That back in the day and so he will wear that hairstyle for life
one character i love seeing them interact with
Apparently in bruce's t6 ending, hes speaking to his superior(?) about a mission well done but it's said he's reporting directly to kazuya, so even if who hes talking to is speaking in english I have to wonder if it was meant to be kaz at one point. Anyway if it is I love the casualness of this interaction.
Also jin! people say theyre tired of the mishima focus but NOT ME bc those dudes only interacted ONCE until t8 finally drops. Anyway their hostility toward each other is sooo obviously fabricated bc if the writers REALLY wanted to get into it, this father&son relationship would be so much more complex than that. Also in the first project x zone, devil kazuya is a boss fight and at one point devil and kazuya are fighting for control and for one (1) second, jin sounds concerned for his dad in the way that he wont be able to kill him while kazuya is himself. fun stuff. Their more neutral interactions as a tag team in pxz2 are a lot of fun too, especially when they team up to tear verbally into heihachi. Anyway like everything about kaz, his relationship with his son isnt explored enough.
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more
Harada For The Love Of God Don't Fuck Up Kazuya's Interactions With Jun In Tekken 8.
I want to see fucking flashbacks man, how did it fucking happen. They had to have exchanged AT LEAST a couple words before getting to jin's conception and I WANNA KNOW. ITS THE MOST MYSTERIOUS AND INTERESTING RELATIONSHIP IN TEKKEN.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character
I feel like. if you stripped kazuya and jun of status and general opposite moral stances, theyre very very similar. I will wait for official t8 confirmation oh what they thought of the other but I feel they are two side of a same coin. People usually speak of jun making kazuya better but I like the other side of kazuya making jun a bit worse. In a very indulgent way I often wonder what it wouldve been like if they tried at all to make it work long term and I dont think it wouldve been that bad, especially compared to how the previous main mishima relationship ended up.

RULES: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! and then tag as many people as you have WIPS.
I was tagged by @tired-bshocked, thank you so much!
(I am breaking the rules because I title things by their initials, which is basically their name anyway, so you get the full name of the WIPs :) Unless it doesn't have a name, then you get the actual file name)
Five Peggats Each
Every Shadow
Commander Cody v. Kenobi et al
Skin and Sores and Bones
NC3 [this one isn't hard lol, you can figure it out]
OPA - I
Y [lol sorry]
no open doc for it yet but I have decided to do this at some point and trust me, my headcanons for it (while tragic) are hilarious (at least according to my mom)
Idk who to tag because I think some people already did this and I don't know who. :/ So: @kcrabb88 @maiaspen @that-gay-jedi @clawedandcute if any of you want to. And literally ANYONE ELSE who would like to do this, please take this as a very legitimate tag (I'm not kidding, if you say I tagged you, I will 100% be delighted and send you an ask for one of them.)

CAS HAPPY BIRTHDAY i hope you had a great day and that a birthday wish comes true for you this year!!! also thank you for taking gin and making him better. i love reading the inner workings, juxtaposed with how he acts or the things he says. he’s such. a fascinating creature, i want to study him under a microscope. kubo didn’t give us much but you took him and made him so much more multifaceted. i love how he’s not just a tragic double agent either; he’s got a nastiness to him that is genuine—a splinter wedged under his skin from brushing up against a cruel, thorned world, festered over the years. that’s such a great attention to detail that i appreciate. makes him more complex, more engaging to read. i’m really honored that you chose me as a regular writing partner. and! as a friend. you’re so mature and compassionate and fucking hilarious, and i cherish our range of conversations be they deep or silly. <3
Tumblr media
out of character. Oh jeez, I've been staring at this ask for a while now not really certain how to tackle it -- but first and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to send me this, it really does mean a lot to me! The extent of your feedback's a real treat, I think I'll be seeking this ask out on the regular for any needed pick-me-up. I love your writing so much, be it on Izuru, Shinji, or even Tokinada. Coming from you, to hear that I've managed to find balance in the multi-faceted character Gin is a massive compliment considering your own mastery of the art. Your array of characters are made up of numerous flaws and virtues (though perhaps Tokinada's more flaws than virtues, if any) and any time I read your writing it's never just one thing with them, you expand them in such refreshing yet cohesive with canon ways. I know it may seem like I'm just throwing a 'no u' curveball at you here, but I do mean it! You just happened to coherently express what is, in my eyes, a mutual feeling about our writing before I could, pfft.
That all said, I love that you've noticed that I never shy away from Gin's nasty side. It'll always be a part of him, and even Gin is self-aware enough to determine that he always had this side within him -- even back when he was but a boy with a handful of persimmons, offering one up to a collapsed girl. He could murder then, and in my headcanon he had (albeit accidentally/in a survival scenario) before meeting her. I think what draws me most to exploring these aspects of Gin is that it never justifies his actions in my eyes, it simply explains them. I hope I can continue shedding light on the darker parts of Gin while also giving his better side some love since, after all, canon events didn't really let us see what he could've been in a more anti-hero / foil position. Plus, let's be real, everybody secretly likes a redemption arc even if the redemption never actually happens -- the character is just simply striving to be better, give or take successes and failures. He can still be nasty in that verse, though he has consequences and can be set back on his path to being 'better' if he does in fact fall back into bad habits. That you've noticed this constant detail and work I've put into my Gin is a massive compliment and further excites me to continue!
So ultimately the honor is all mine! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write your lieutenant's dumb traitor captain -- I love your Izuru dearly and our talks about the various scenarios and little funny peeks into their day-to-day lives make me excited to write with you on the dash so much so that I typically zoom to reply ASAP lmfao. You're a good friend of mine with excellent humor and a good heart, I'll be stickin' to ya for some time now. Thank you, again <3

2, 3, 5, 9, 12, and 16 for octopath 2 pls :D
GASP :D
Let's see....
2.a headcanon you weren't sure about at first but have come to like!
I think one headcanon that might apply is the "Temenos is a Kal" one.
It somewhat would make sense if say Kaldena escaped with a baby that happened to be a newborn Temenos. Plus, I believe the massacre of the Kal people was approximately 30 years ago (I believe Kaldena is in her 30's???), and Temenos was an orphan taken in by the Pontiff.
I really do like this headcanon, but I feel like there would need to be an explanation as to why Kaldena would just suddenly abandon this baby Temenos (or perhaps it's not too out there, given their history of just... not liking each other?) It's an idea I'd love to explore more in the future, only because I actually do like Kaldena and think she's interesting, but the writer's did her dirty.
3. A character that fandom has helped you appreciate
This is a difficult one to answer if I'm going to be honest, mostly because I like mostly everyone in this game haha
Though there was a tumblr user who made me really appreciate Kaldena more - she already has a badass design and is an interesting gal with a tragic backstory. I wish she was more built upon, though. I feel the writers did her dirty :(
Alright enough about Kaldena, haha
5. Something you see in fics a lot and love
I haven't read a lot of fics regarding Octopath 2 that aren't Temehika related (there is a ParCas one I love though), so I think I'll list what I liked about those fics :3
Wake Up & Desert Nights: Temenos visiting Hikari in Ku is my all time fave
"Wake Up" especially has a moment were Temenos just struggling with chopsticks and calling Hikari "sensei" as Hikari tries to teach him how to use them. I also love that Temenos favours Hikari's letters over the other travelers
Solstice: Hikari is just finding himself sleeping on Temenos' thigh and is all apologetic about it only to find Temenos is pretty chill about it.
Boiling Under: "My, Hikari" - that's it. That's all that needs to be said. It's a short one, but it speaks volumes.
Northen Nights: The combining of Temenos's Stormhail Chapter and Hikari's Chapter 4 is just *chef's kiss*
Also in a ParCas one I read called "Knit Two Together", there was slight background Temehika where Hikari finds himself enjoying Temenos's paper plays
9. A ship that isn't your OTP but that you enjoy
Knightlight - I love the ship and enjoy Crick and Temenos' dynamic. I love Temenos' teasing of Crick, but also how he genuienly cares about him. I love the lengths they go for each other during the course of the story.
I love seeing it as the prelude to Temehika too - the idea that Temenos is a magnet to these swordsmen who are good lads and honourable, trustworthy and naive is just a thought I love too much.
More of a crack ship, that I think I'm the only shipper of (lol), but I enjoy Parteme (Partitio and Temenos). I just think the idea of these two getting together in secret would be hilarious, plus it has been shown that Temenos loves to tease Partitio.
Throné and Agnea is a pair I've been thinking of lately, too thanks to satsuha, haha
I also love the thought of Throné becoming Agnea's bodyguard
12. Compliment someone in your fandom
Aaaa, I think your art is super cute and I love the animations you do :D
Also I think @beantothemax is really sweet, and I love seeing the AUs and fics that their mutuals send in their askbox
Meansary - I love their Hikari art sm, their work is just so good
There are also some artists on Twitter that I like such as @QSz6h1 and @dxmnwatxr_ who do some cute Temehika art (they call it Hikateme over there) :3
16. A tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
I'm sure I've said it before, but the fact that Temenos is actually really nice to Hikari and seems quite gentle with him in his travel banters
Like in Hikari's Chapter 4, Temenos, though seemingly doubtful about the situation, still supports Hikari's decision to meet with Rai Mei, even giving him a warning to be cautious.
Sorry if I went on an unrelated tangent with these, but I had fun answering these :D

🪀, ✨, 💌 for Vladimir? Or Galacta if he's not available please!
Oho, interested in my boy are we? I can do both here for you, though for Vlad it's just straight up canon since he's my boy. xD
~Vladimir:
🪀silly headcanon:
There's the obvious running gag of his genes being so wild and messy that he's a little bit of everything. 99% of any Demon Beasts you can think of he probably has like 0.000001% of it SOMEWHERE in his genes LMAO. It's what makes him confusing for anyone to encounter. He's a big cluster-heck of everything and thrives on messing with people by honestly telling them so.
✨a ship i like with this character: (I'll include my characters for both answers to this)
Oh man, there's a few. There's obviously the end-game one which is on here, but I'm not specifying which. Should be easy to figure out though!
MetaVlad is hilarious but they're besties. They would absolutely wreck havoc and be a chaotic duo if things went this way.
NecroVlad is a hilarious one since the two will have their moments together. It would be a hellish dynamic and would be just as chaotic as Meta and Vlad. OriVlad is also amazing because mmm that tension and delicious chemistry. I mean have you seen these two? It's a fun time.
...I realize these are all m/m pairings despite Vlad being pan. Oopsie. Not too many ladies to choose from, haha.
💌fluffy headcanon:
Vladimir, while being an absolute harbinger of chaos and quips, is actually a pretty soft guy. He's gentle with the kids and very careful around delicate emotions---he would NEVER take advantage if one of his friends was having a moment of weakness/distress. (Obviously enemies are an exception.) One of his favorite uses of his Dreamscape control is to make his friends and family happy by giving them a dream come true for a bit, or dragging them off to whoever they want to see the most.
He also knows magic tricks without any actual use of magic and loves using such to make the kids smile if they're upset or crying. He's extremely good with kids despite being engineered to murder one.
Despite his body hosting his Dark Matter, they can feel everything he does. They get to experience happiness and joy, as well as misery and the like. Vladimir opts for happier feelings to not sink and let them hijack his body to become... That. If he gets overwhelmed with happiness (or say love) he'll freeze up more frequently and have trouble moving from the intensity, which to me is adorable as hell. Sincerity throws him off in the best of ways, since he's so used to hell.
~Galacta:
🪀silly headcanon:
Gala is very proud of his wings and despises them getting dirty. He scoffs at even the idea of folding his wings away into their cape-form because he prefers them out at all times. He frets when it's molting time and keeps them very pristine.
Despite their big size, he does not like just anyone touching them. He's very particular on who gets access to his feathers.
✨a ship i like with this character:
MetaGala, obviously. Big OTP for me. MorphoGala is one that originally I didn't think much of but it really grew on me and now I love it a lot, haha! MetaMorphoGala is also grand because I'm a little self-indulgent.
GalaNecro is also cute, given Necro did have a crush on him at one point. Necro still cares for him deeply. Sis Knight also had a crush on him at some point too and I used to have a spin off AU where she and Gala were a thing! They were actually a very cute pair in that world, haha. Artemis and Gala are also a cute one and in a very different AU they were a thing too. Obvs now it's very different and they're basically siblings, but the dynamic was more on the tragic side.
💌fluffy headcanon:
I've always given Galacta an ability to cook and sew---He loves very traditionally feminine things despite being the most powerful entity in the galaxy. He is very loving and tender and strong in both senses of the word. Galacta could obliterate an entire solar system if he wanted, but why when he could be making the best cheesecake ever?
Galacta also wanted to go into the healing side of things rather than be a warrior, but his power was too great to just squander, so he was unfortunately forced into his training and knighthood. But he did learn a little and cherishes the knowledge, even if it's been more often used to figure out where one's most vital weakness was. If he could retire from fighting, he would love to just focus on healing the injured and making everyone happier.

I'm the sort of person who, sorting through a canon, especially a mythological one that I really like, pays attention to all sorts of side characters.
I completely understand why you'd want to keep continental and Scandinavian sources separate (and Old English sources too!) but I do like blending sources and being a "completist". If Gullrond/Gudny was the mother of Hagen's nephews (that don't really exist in Scandinavia), it would make sense for her to be among the people sharing stories and comforting Gudrun/Kriemhild over Sigurd/Siegfried's death. She's also the one who asks her sister to look at Sigurd's dead face, and says this is the best way to appeal to a "young wife", so maybe there is some personal experience involved? But that falls into the realm of speculation and things to be added in retelling than actual folklore academia.
Speaking of Guðrúnarkviða, there is a Danish ballad that reflects, or at least draws from the same motifs as Herborg's troubles. It's called the Count of Vendel's Daughter. The heroine narrates that shortly after birth, she was put in a chest and thrown into the sea by her stepmother. She washes up on shore and is found and raised by a wolf and then a deer. At eight years old, a knight kills the deer while out hunting and brings the girl to his home, where he raises her until she comes of age, and then decides to marry her, but even on his wedding night, his enemies kill him. Her late husband's relatives marry her to a priest (in early Scandinavia, priests were allowed common-law marriages), but a group of nuns who had hoped to be allowed to marry him murder him soon after the wedding. Her kinsmen then marry her to a king, with whom she lives happily for several years, having ten children, but her husband and nine of her children are killed and she and her youngest child are captured. Her youngest child escapes to a foreign land, leaving her shut in a cloister telling her tragic story to the younger nuns.
Also is it me or did Herborg deal a stealth insult to Gudrun's parents? "I never found a better master, and never a worse mistress."
Oh, yeah, I totally understand! Part of why I said that is because if you bring up that kind of connection, sometimes I won't have a lot to say in response because I've never tried to see things from that angle, and trying to do so might not come all that naturally to me. However, I do also see the potential of a "completist" view, as you said. My current favorite adaptation of the Sigurd/Siegfried cycle is very much a blend of different sources, traditions, and even theories, which is something that initially surprised me but I've gotten used to, lol.
Anyway, now that you said it, I really like the idea that Gullrond was talking from personal experience. It might be just speculation/headcanon, but I think it actually makes a lot of sense, considering the role of the women who come to Gudrun's aid in the poem is to draw from their own lives and personal tragedies to try and get Gudrun to mourn in a healthy manner.
Also, thanks for the info on the Count of Vendel's Daughter! I think I've heard about it before, but not quite in so much depth. I can kinda see the similarities.
As for the stealth insult... I'm not sure if Herborg's actually talking about Gjuki and Grimhild. But if she were, that would make nobody calling her out of it kind of hilarious, with all the trouble caused by Grimhild's actions. Maybe everyone collectively shrugged and went "well... she has a point"? XD Then again, Herborg describes the queen she used to serve as someone violent and petty, so I also get her going "fuck her, I'm not holding my tongue on this."

so I was just chilling but then it occured to me
Harry would have bunch of siblings
If not the Voldemort they would be safe, Potter family had money so they wouldn't worry about household (although they both would work hard not really wanting to use family fortune), they had supportive friends and most importantly - they were in love - they would have a lot of children.
James always joked that they need 3 kids so each one of marauders could be a godfather. Lily thought that big family would be a good thing (both she and James lost their parents to disease or tragic accidents, they would never want Harry to be an only child)
So.. may I present to you
Potter family if there was no Voldemort
Tumblr media
You may wonder about that "Godmother: Minerva" next to Harry. Well I am 💯 sure that marauders thought it would be hilarious to ask McGonagall to be his godmother (I believe Harry doesn't have godmother in canon and reason for it was Voldemort and fact that Sirius was the only "safe" person they could surround Harry with (beside the fact Sirius is like brother to James so obviously he's gonna be a godfather) and Minerva said yes. They were sure she was pulling their leg but she just smiled and send cookies to her new godson.
My brain is working so hard right now about all possible headcanons connected with those kids🥰😤 Also Neville would have had siblings too. I honestly don't think Remus and Sirius have children on their own.
Ron & Harry relating to having big families. Longbottom & Potter family play dates. Malfoy family not being that awful.
Let's be honest, Harry wasn't planned, they were very young. Willow and Leo were very much not planned either.. Juliet also came early.. so uh Sirius once joked in heartwarming manner that they didn't expect them but love them very much and since then Matilda very proudly lives as the planned Potter child, thank you very much.
Drunk & sleepy Sirius always says that if they ever have a kid Regulus would be his godmother (gets mad at James for taking Minnie but it was his idea to begin with) Remus gently reminds him Reggie would hex his ass if he actually said godmother instead of godfather. Sirius claims his brother is gonna cry either way and won't be able to believe he's actually asking him to do that.
Harry literally growing up with gay uncles and lesbian aunties, being super chill about everything. "You can't just ask people if they're gay, Juliet" "Ron, are you sure you don't have crush on Krum?"
How could I forget, each kid has a nickname, how could they not? They grew up hearing Prongs, Padfoot, Moony (every kid managed to call them Dadfoot and Moomy to James horror.) and Wormie (Harry was shock when he found out Padfoot name was actually Sirius when he asked what's so funny about "I'm serious.")
honestly I might develop this au, they might actually have less kids (but at this point I love them all) I would love to hear other people opinions about this.

Toji, Nanami, Gojou and Sukuna for the ask game please? You can do one by one or together as you see fit.
oh you're killing me here JKBSJBKDBKJD this is gonna be a long one my lads!
Nanami's been answered here!
Toji
favorite thing about them
he's an amazingly written character – everything about him was tragic from start to finish; his upbringing, his short lived joy, his eventual downfall. he embodies everything about the notion of "if everyone says i am nothing i might as well be nothing". the grief, the hopelessness, the anger, the apathy. you cannot help but mourn him just a little. just for the things that could've been.
least favorite thing about them
he's a shit father KJBDJKFBJKFBJKB–
favorite line
"Not Zenin, huh? Good for you."
brOTP
in a kinder world, him and Gojo would've been fucking hilarious.
OTP
Him and Mamaguro, the only person who had his heart [starts sobbing]
nOTP
idk man dude's 6ft under, he isnt gettin any anymore (i hope)
random headcanon
If he had lived and semi-turned his life around, he would have a severe disconnect on how to bond with his children. Megumi would be 15 and Toji would get him a toy truck bc kids like that yeah? all his bonding ides are basically more fit for kids under ten and not like. teenagers.
unpopular opinion
i genuinely think he did love his kids on some level. maybe it was unconventional, maybe it wasn't enough, but he still loved them.
song i associate with them
Ghost by Confetti
favorite picture of them
Tumblr media
Gojo
favorite thing about them
HE CARES. FUCKING HELL HE CARES SO MUCH ABOUT PEOPLE, HIS FRIENDS, HIS COLLEAGUES, HUMANITY IN GENERAL. he is delightfully complex and despite all his trauma, he still cares. he cares enough to desire to shape a better world for whomever comes after him. he wants everyone's future to be brighter, to be kinder, he wants everyone to not live through what he has, no matter how strong that made him.
least favorite thing about them
his hair when he takes his blindfold off and his furby-looking ghost peepers. look away, bastard, I SAID LOOK AWAY– also the fact that he's like. 190cm+ what the fuck do you need all that height for
favorite line
"I refuse to keep this kid from living the best years of his life. Not just him, but everyone." [SOBS]
brOTP
Gojo & Megumi (& Tsumiki), Gojo & Shoko, Gojo & literally any or all his students, Gojo & Nanami
OTP
Nanago and Satosugu are literally both great but Satosugu hurts me more, so im going with Nanago bc im a lil bitch
nOTP
Gohime – i dont really see it, but they make hilarious friends. Gojo & Miwa – SHE'S LIKE. 17.
random headcanon
He does NOT like cockroaches. He will literally get Megumi or anyone else to go get them for him. He's just not a fan! They get in everywhere and seem unkillable and they FLY for fucks sake! -7/10, would not recommend!
unpopular opinion
he's not a flirt – he's just good-looking and he knows it and how to utilize it when the situation calls for it.
song i associate with them
Borderline by Tove Styrke [Vanic Remix]
favorite picture of them
Tumblr media
Sukuna
favorite thing about them
he's so fucking evil. i love him. this guy is vile, he knows no mercy, he does what he fucking wants without any rhyme or reason. he is the pinnacle of absolute evil and worst of all, he knows how to use his powers. this guy isnt stupid! he's a smart egomaniac with no regards for human life – all that exist are his pleasures and displeasures alone, and he so damn good at it bc finally, FINALLY, we get just some bastard being fucking evil bc he CAN and he WANTS to.
least favorite thing about them
literally all of the above. i love him being evil but also i want to see him 6ft under. i want him dead. i want Yuuji to deck him. but a big moment for me was when HE KILLED MY BABY BOY YUUJI. also the fact that his og form doesnt have an actual canon appearance yet
favorite line
"Know your place, fool." "Bakana." and "Ganbare, ganbare." are a close second
brOTP
Sukuna & Uraume – Evil Besties <3 also Sukuna & Yuuji if the series were more of a whole "weird homicidal demon stuck in my head and learning how to be human" situation
OTP
Sukuna x Immediate Death <3
nOTP
Sukuna x Total World Domination </3
random headcanon
He's useless in modern society. Sure, he passively picks up the knowledge from Yuuji bc Brain Roommates and all but. He screeches when the toast pops up from the toaster. He kicks a vacuum to death bc he hates the noise. He probably also got nearly run over by a truck and proceeded to try and fight the aforementioned vehicle.
unpopular opinion
i think he finds meek people boring. all they do is snivel around and cower, its no fun for him, so he might as well just kill them now.
song i associate with them
Play with Fire by Sam Tinnesz
favorite picture of them
I KNOW I KNOW OG!SUKUNA SHOULD BE THERE BUT THIS MOMENT WAS GREAT

okay. so i just rewatched the corpse bride and emily and victor just deserved to be together. but they didn’t and i hate it. so can you do the om brothers and datables reacting to the corpse bride and hating the fact emily and victor didn’t get a happy ending? or any thoughts about the movie.
Tumblr media
such a cute movie! I disagree about the happy ending part. happy endings come in many forms. but, agree to disagree. let’s see the boys opinions!
OBEY ME BOYS + Reacting to ‘Corpse Bride’ Headcanons
Lucifer
Not sure why he's watching an animated movie. But this just proves the depths of his love for you
Watches it, and is interested in the plot, but wouldn't call himself a fan. The ending is lack luster.
Would try to engage you with other movies with similar themes. Like Russian horror movie The Bride.
Probably spends all other animated movie nights reading beside you.
Mammon
Why would he want to watch a kid's movie?? That's so lame.
But, any excuse to be close and alone with you. Although he'd never say it.
Likes the Remains of the Day music number, and the scaring the towns people scene. He thinks it's hilarious.
Asks if there are other movies like that you want to watch. Y-You know....cause he has the best sound system and everything.
Levi
Probably already a fan of Tim Burton, so he's seen it. But he hasn't seen it with you!
Has the director's cut blu ray already in his collection ready to queue up.
Even if he's seen it a bunch of times, he's still enthralled like it's the first.
Totally cries when Emily fades off in the end.
Satan
Also not a fan of animated films, but all art is valid
Spends most of the movie telling you fun facts about it, rather than watching the movie.
"Did you know it took X hours a day to film scenes?" "Originally they were going to use (blank) for this scene. But had to switch 3 months into filming."
Likes the story and would be willing to watch again. Quietly, next time.
Asmo
Down to watch the movies with you! But not necessarily for the movie part....
Spends most of the movies trying to grope or make out with you.
Relates to Emily being so beautiful and rich in the past, but not much else.
Does like the drama of a tragic love story. So he likes it in the end.
Beel
Is there popcorn? Then yes he'll watch with you.
Movies of this type aren't really his thing. He prefers action movies, or sport films.
Gets sad as he relates to waiting for someone for so long, but tries to perk up.
Gets misty when Emily is finally free. Tries to play it off like he got hell fire salt from the popcorn in his eye.
Belphie
Loves to cuddle up in his bed and watch movies, so of course he wants to watch it with you.
He also really likes 'darker' animated films. So this is a real win-win
Even though he likes the movie, he still falls asleep halfway through
Whines and asks you to watch with him again to see the ending. Rinse, repeat lol
Solomon
Not interested. But if it's something you want to do then it couldn't be all that bad.
Much like Satan, spends most of the time talking about the practical elements of the movie. From a magical side.
"Do they honestly think that resurrections spells work that simply?", "What sort of incantation trigger is hopscotch?", "You know, there is actually a really fun potion involving boiled sea urchins that I think was what they were going for."
Has no opinion on the ending since he didn't care in the first place. Amused you get so worked up about it.
Simeon
Happy just to spend the afternoon with you. But he is excited to see a Human film.
Likes all the colors and interesting graphic work. It's really creative.
Finds the ending rather inspiring. Emily is able to let go of her past and be free. To which he hopes is heaven.
Wouldn't let Luke watch it because he thinks the skeletons would scare him.
Diavolo
As always, he's fascinated by all things Human World. So of course he'll watch it with you.
He really enjoys it. Those boisterous, funny skeletons are simply to die for.
The ending is ok for him. He likes that the villain got what was coming to him and justice was done.
Would want to watch another movie with you. As many as he can get until you get bored or his work calls him away.
Barbatos
Doesn't get a lot of time off, so spending it watching a kid's movie is not what he had planned. But if it's what you want to do.....
Would make yummy snacks and drinks to watch the movie with, and enjoy the show
Surprisingly, he doesn't hate it. The characters are interesting and the animation is lovely. His opinion on the ending is that all things must end.
Hopes you enjoyed yourself, and would like to do it again. Preferably with a much mature film but it's it makes you happy.

Okay then, what’s your Mokuba deep character analysis? 😗
Also, are you talking DM version or manga version or both lol. I’m assuming DM but idk
omg I definitely didn't expect anyone to actually ask wow!! okay! well personally and like, for my RPverse, I like to blend canon from the manga and anime. like prioritizing manga first and fleshing it out with anime details that dont directly contradict anything. I feel like the s0 manga sets up everyone's characters in such an integral way that without it, the anime versions of the characters all fall a little bit flat and some of their motivations aren't very clear.
but I specifically I was just thinking about Mokuba's character and development in the early manga and how its too important to ignore because it shows just how jaded and corrupted he was by Gouzaburou and Seto's hatred and how much he's willing to grow compared to his brother and step father. like he started out following his brother so closely and blindly that, as an actual child, he poisoned and watched Joey writhing in pain and just laughed, but by the end of the next year, he was going behind Seto's back to try and get help for Joey after he lost to Marik.
( which!! I'm absolutely obsessed with the headcanon of Joey becoming a better brotherly influence in Mokuba's life post canon. to the point I have a very strong headcanon about Mokuba using a Red Eyes centric deck but this post is already long so I won't over explain that rn ))
I think about how he was so ready to be cruel, to be vindictive just to hear his brother praise him once. how he wanted so badly to win their bet and outshine Seto, because that was the only way he could see worth in himself was by making his brother proud.
I 100% believe that Mokuba is the more intelligent Kaiba Brother. he is constantly out performing his brother on all intellectual, strategic, mechanical, and even social aspects for his age, but everyone is so impressed by Seto's new accomplishments that no one notices Mokuba growing and learning at a much faster rate.
I think that if Yami hadn't had his own moment of growth and decided to pull Mokuba out of Seto's holographic penalty game, Mokuba could have become just the most unhinged (and hilarious) villain. but I love that his change in attitude wasn't an immediate 180. like sure he instantly decided to do the right thing and go save Honda, and after Yugi won he told him their origin story and everything. but when they meet again at Duelist Kingdom, Mokuba swears he still hates Yugi, and points a lot of the blame for Pegasus getting the opportunity to even try his evil plan at the fact Yugi put Seto in a coma and, by the way, when IS he going to wake up, Yugi??? I like that he's still got that grudge months later, and that he does finally try and let it go after Yugi saves not only him, but Seto too.
and that kid has ?? so much trauma oh my god. these are all just headcanons but. he's claustrophobic from the capsule monsters penalty game. he thinks about how willing he was to kill someone, and spends nights wondering, what if I'd really done it? he sleeps with a light on after duelist kingdom because waking up in a dark room takes him right back to the dungeon.
okay I rambled a whole lot without really saying anything I think so I'm going to just cjejdjesbwj stop here but s0 makes Mokuba SUCH a fascinating character to me like he's just the perfect blend of unhinged, tragic, and unbelievably hilarious that I spend a lot of time at work thinking about how he's going to grow up. I have like 800 different post canon aus just depending on things like. if he takes over Kaiba Corp and finally focuses on building theme parks for underprivileged children instead of card games and revenge. or does he resent the corporate life eventually and sell the company? or does he destroy it completely?? how much of his own interests, goals, and personality did he sacrifice for his brother and how much of it can he ever get back???

for the ask game: Julian, Captain and Humphrey! :)
julian
a song that reminds me of them: a cop out, since this one is canon. any time i hear "i'll make love to you," i think of him singing that at music club (and also mary going "i don't want him toooo" lol). i also feel like he would LOVE britney spears's music.
what they smell like: really expensive but really bad aftershave and too much cologne. also alcohol and sex. but the first thing you notice is the bad aftershave.
an otp: him and robin. there is no other acceptable pairing. i do think it would be funny if he and fanny had a thing though. or him and the captain (alison walks in on them doing something and the captain just yells "WE'RE JUST A COUPLE OF CHAPS IN THE LIBRARY" while julian isn't even trying to keep what they were just doing a secret).
a notp: uhhh him and kitty. she's the only one i would be mad about tbh.
favorite platonic/familial relationships: the way he's like a really awful, bad-influence uncle to alison.
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with: i can't think of one. we all generally agree that he's a hilarious bastard man and come up with stuff accordingly.
the position they sleep in: he sleeps in the exact middle of the bed, or he starts out on one side, since he's used to sharing in life, but gradually spreads out, and if anyone else tried to sleep in the same bed as him they'd be really annoyed because he always manages to hog so much space and leave them barely hanging onto the edge.
a crossover au i'd love to see them in: very unoriginal, but i'd love to see a horrible histories stupid deaths segment with him.
my favorite outfit they've ever worn: we've seen a couple now actually, unlike some of the other ghosts. but i really do prefer the no trousers look and anything else is slightly unsettling if i'm honest.
the captain
a song that reminds me of them: i really can't think of one. the captain isn't one of my favourite characters so i don't really think a lot about him when i listen to music. sorry.
what they smell like: weirdly, i think he smells like nothing. like. unsettlingly so. you almost want him to smell like something, but he just. doesn't. he's very clean, but he doesn't even smell like soap. it's just. an empty air smell, if you can describe it as such. he smokes, too, so you'd expect a tobacco smell or a smoke smell, but even that isn't there. this man just smells like nothing.
an otp: i don't ship him with any of the other ghosts in the house. i do think him and julian hooking up exactly one (1) time could lead to multiple hilarious comedic possibilities, but i don't want them to be in a relationship.
a notp: i saw someone shipping him with fanny and just... no. that doesn't make any sense.
favorite platonic/familial relationships: i love how he's just got that Dad Instinct. he looked at kitty and alison and went "isn't anyone going to father these young ladies?" and didn't wait for an answer.
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with: i don't like the patcaps ship.
the position they sleep in: series 1 cap slept board-straight in the bed, almost like he was standing at attention. series 3 cap probably sleeps curled up on his side, or on his stomach, or curled up all nice and comfy.
a crossover au i'd love to see them in: young wwi era cap in series 2 of downton abbey. i don't know if i'd like to see him turn up as a young man in the trenches or one of the patients at downton, or maybe as a medical officer like thomas barrow, in the lower ranks, helping out in the background.
my favorite outfit they've ever worn: *gestures* this?
humphrey
a song that reminds me of them: "blue caravan" by vienna teng. after all the "mr. cheese" stuff, i got to thinking about how he probably has a lot of time to imagine the different lives he could have had if circumstances had been different, and this song is about imagining the perfect supportive, caring partner, but realising that they're not real and it's just a foolish self delusion. or perhaps a lighter, more hopeful version of the same theme, "jackie and wilson" by hozier, where the narrator once again imagines a partner and an ideal life which they haven't achieved yet, but they're still holding out for.
what they smell like: okay so tudors only bathed like once every six to eight weeks or something like that. they believed baths were bad for them. not only that, wealthy tudors' diets were appalling. so unfortunately he probably doesn't smell great. (but luckily i've never had much of a sense of smell, so.....)
an otp: him and someone who actually likes him and wants to talk to him and spend time with him. so far we haven't seen that, so for now i'll keep making up random ocs to set him up with.
a notp: him and thomas, since thomas is so horrible to him.
favorite platonic/familial relationships: i'd love to see him be yet another dad to alison, or to kitty.
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with: i don't like the whole humphrey and jemima thing because a lot of the stuff is either really fucking uncomfortable, or the people who write it make it weird by babying jemima. she's 11-12 years old and they treat her like she's four years old and that just feels really weird to me. obviously she's a kid and she should be treated like one, but there's also such a thing as age appropriate parenting. also i'm pretty sure jemima is meant to be one of john's kids who also died of the plague so like. acting like she's all alone and hasn't got any parents or anyone at all is so confusing to me because if she's one of john's kids, she's got like twenty parents. we just don't see her with the plague ghosts because like any kid, she probably goes off and plays away from her parents during the day. anyway.
the position they sleep in: when he was alive i feel like he would fall asleep in a normal position, on his back or on his side, but when his valet or whoever went to wake him up in the morning, he was always like, hanging off the bed or laying at a weird angle and they were always like "how the fuck did he even get like that." in death, like. his head just sleeps however it was set down or dropped. and i'm a fan of your headcanon that the body just collapses wherever it is when his head falls asleep.
a crossover au i'd love to see them in: forgive me for saying downton abbey again but i'm doing a rewatch with one of my friends. i'm gonna throw him into the edwardian era as some random gentleman cousin and he and lady edith are going to be poor, pitiful, unlucky-in-love besties who bond over all the ridiculously tragic shit that's happened to them and how they always get bullied or left out of things.
my favorite outfit they've ever worn: he technically only has one outfit (damn the bbc for putting the whole costuming budget into the georgian episode instead of the tudor one. /j), but i like the dressed down version where he's just in the white shirt and the breeches. he looks. very handsome. in that scene. ahem.
