in relation to what we were just talking about , but . how does grace cope with all the bullshit that happens to her in the week the game takes place in ? can she sleep ? does she cry or have any sort of breakdown privately ? or does she sort of just . not let herself stop and think about the trial ( yet at the same time be motivated by it ) and all these petty and spiteful fucks getting in her way ?

for the most part, grace is just pushing through and not letting herself stop. i think she knows there's literally no time for it; she can't give herself the luxury to process everything that's happening to her because each moment wasted on that is a moment less to figure out what happened and prove her innocence.

which means she gets terribly stressed out whenever whoever is helping her tells her to just wait. not only it's time she feels she could be using to act, waiting is when everything threatens to catch up to her and she can't stop. she doesn't wanna risk not being able to pick herself up again.

she sleeps very little, and mostly only because the stress and exhaustion of everything happening in such a short time just knocks her out eventually (i know apollo wanted her to rest but consider: she can't relax). i feel for the most part grace is either acting or considering what to do next. i could say preparing but honestly people keep her in the dark about what she's supposed to do next so often that the most she can prepare is like. preparing herself to face anything jsdnfakjsnd

and so she does! going to a club and facing down a goddess in a song battle? sure. going to the reliquary to find the minotaur? okay. going to a party no one wants to tell her anything about and adapting as she learns? will do. there's no other choice. so she just faces whatever bullshit people throw at her the best she can (as she says in my favorite reply to athena after it's determined there will be a trial, and the one reply i'd keep as canon for my blog: okay, it's unfair but it is what it is. she'll do her best. it's all she can do).

i think the only breakdown she has is very visible and it happens when freddie dies. it's also the one moment i feel she'd falter because to her, her life isn't worth more than freddie's. there's this dialogue option where she says 'it should've been me' that i feel is very fitting with how she'd feel about it. and at least with apollo, his reply ends with something like 'freddie gave you a chance' — that honestly is something i feel would lead her to keep pushing through. freddie died to give her a chance. she won't squander that opportunity, no matter how much she wishes things had been different. it's the least she can do when it's what freddie would've wanted her to do.

other than that, no, she never stops to cry or despair or breakdown even in private. all her energy is dedicated to keep going, no matter what happens. people around her might forget her life is on the line, but she doesn't. they might act like there is time, but she can't, she knows there isn't. it's definitely not stopping to think about it while keeping it as a motivator; a very serious threat that keeps her going but that she won't examine too closely so she won't breakdown.

after the trial, it'd probably take days for the sense of impending danger and the adrenaline and anxiety of being Constantly dealing with something to finally fade. and when it did... well.. that's when i think she'd really start to process it. to cry and feel the weight of it full force and be happy she's alive and be angry she had to go through all that and be devastated about freddie's loss. even then, i'd consider everything that happened pretty traumatic, from calliope dying in her arms to being sentenced to death to having a week to prove her innocence and everything that happens there. it's not like she'd get over it fast. it wouldn't stop haunting her soon after it was done. she can't just forget about it.

she'd definitely be on guard and have trouble sleeping, and i think the restlessness also lingers. i think her keeping herself so busy after the trial is also a means to cope; still not letting herself stop for too long or think too hard about what happened. hoping given time it'll be distant enough she won't have trouble with it anymore.

Kamisato Ayato:

as the Yashiro commissioner, he has to wake up pretty early. but... there's only one problem - Ayato hates it with passion. poor Thoma used to shake him awake every 15 minutes, at least three times. ayato would just swat his hands away, press his face into the pillow and sigh loudly, promising Thoma to get up in a few minutes. (he didn't)

now that you're living with your boyfriend, you share the same bed. which means a few things - he clings to you the entire night, your limbs are tangled together in the morning, and now you're the one in charge of getting him out of bed (Thoma almost cried in happiness). he annoyingly turns off the screaming alarm and snuggles back into you.

he has a habit of, quite literally - squishing his cheek against yours as he lies next to you. he also likes to nuzzle into your neck and grip you like a monkey that found the last banana in its vicinity. he hums at you and lies down with his eyes closed if you ask him questions or say anything. you can tell by the tone he hums with whether he agrees on something or not, but generally, that keeps him enough busy not to fall asleep again.

i can't stress this enough, he's ALL over you. if he's in his "cheek-against-cheek" mode, he literally cradles your other one with his palm. if his face is in your neck and you lie on your back, his fingers are intertwined with yours. the more awake he is, the more kisses are being placed by his lips.

he definitely requests breakfast in bed. at this point he's cuddled enough, so now he wants to feed you. literally. he picks up the food skillfully with his favorite chopsticks and carefully brings it to your mouth, "open up my love," he speaks in his usual, soft-spoken tone, but it's clear his morning voice is still there. "that's it, you're so good for me. is it good? would you like some more?" hmm..

just so you know: he wants you to feed him too and will pout and threaten (playfully) to go back to sleep if you don't. since he likes to sleep more, there aren't many activities you share in the morning; as a result, he cherishes the morning snuggle and sharing your first meal together a lot. Ayato is always curious to hear about your upcoming plans for the day - but he won't say no to lighthearted conversations either. he just really wants to hear your voice.

Arataki Itto:

listen. he either sleeps until 6am or 1pm. there's no in-between, sometimes he stays up all night or falls asleep on your lap on the couch as soon as he comes back home. no, he won't move.

it's hard to say whether he's a morning person - but probably not; he whines a lot into your hair when he has to wake up early and hasn't rested enough, babbling how dark it is outside and that you're too warm to let go of.

speaking of, he holds onto you in the mornings like his life depends on it - you have to work? no, no, no - just stay for a while longer, while he smushes your face right into his... um, prominent chest. you feel the warmth of his bare skin, his chin on top of your head, his large hands drawing invisible patterns of stars, clouds, or hearts under your pajama t-shirt; he sneaks a few kisses on your hair, humming in contentment when he feels you hug him back with your arm over his own hip.

he's totally willing to make you a nice meal before work though, and wake up earlier in the process. most of the time it ends up in absolute disaster and him taking twice as much time to clean it up. but... if you decide to make breakfast together, itto can actually cook up a nice meal (with "a little of your help"). while the preparations are done and the meal is almost ready to be served, the oni hugs you from behind and sways a little from side to side, nuzzling into your neck drowsily and trying not to drool on you.

generally, he's very touchy after waking up (as you can probably guess by now), so he wants to accompany you everywhere before you have to leave. he'll cuddle you before leaving the sheets, link your pinkies when you wait for the water to boil, go showering together, have his hand on your thigh if you do your makeup, attempt to help you with your makeup which might end up in very interesting results, and trying to mischievously steal some kisses just as you're about to leave.

Itto's hands cup your cheeks gently and he flashes you a boyish smirk; he leans in and connects your lips, purring as some of his unruly hair falls onto your shoulders. he always claims he "just wants to give his little sunshine a good luck kiss for the day," but in reality, he just wants to feel you real good before you depart for today. also, he really likes flavored lip glosses, and you keep buying them, so it's not his fault for giving in to your "devilish temptations"

Kaeya:

the bed is an absolute mess. the pillows are everywhere, his part of the duvet is barely covering him from the stomach down, and probably, he has one of his arms on your face.

it takes a while for him to fully wake up; once he opens his eyes just barely enough to see, he scans the room to make sure you're near him - and then he either gets up or decides to snuggle up to you, kiss your temple and go back to sleep for a bit more.

if it's a work day, he uses all his willpower (read: 30 alarms) to wake up earlier and just admire you. he likes to big spoon you and have his arm over your hip, gently grazing your hand with the pads of his fingers; Kaeya just can't get enough of the smell of your shampoo, of your warmth, of your presence.

before properly getting out of bed, he hovers above your sleeping form - it gives him butterflies to see you so peaceful; therefore, he always bends down and places a few butterfly kisses on your cheek with his pretty lashes. he chuckles lightly when he sees you stir in your sleep because of the interaction, so he gives your cheek a proper kiss and (unwillingly) leaves the warm bed.

just so you know - he WILL attempt to get in your pants if he has a day off. Kaeya's hands start to wander automatically as he kisses you awake (or at least attempts to), and if he feels like a little shiet enough - he might place his cold feet on your legs to help you wake up and have some fun! :)

you might need reinforcements if he doesn't wanna get up in winter when it's cold. Kaeya clings to the duvet like he's about to meet the grim reaper himself.

Diluc:

he has a routine that he strictly follows - but at the same time, he's an expert at being quiet and letting you sleep. he takes his time getting dressed up though - he can't help but cheat a bit and watch you snore.

even if it's his day off, he still wakes up earlier than you. but there's a catch - he then leaves your shared bed for a moment to greet his maids and order them to make you a mix of your and his favorites for breakfast. he doesn't want to wake you up, but he really wants to talk with you again - so he might do that with that precious scent of freshly prepared food..

an absolute sucker for playing with your hair in the morning. he runs his fingers through your hair in the gentlest way possible, shifting closer to you and pressing a sweet, warm kiss on your forehead that he lets to linger for a bit longer.

likewise, when you play with his hair to wake HIM up - he might just feel his heart explode and shed a few happy tears. he's never believed there will be a day he meets an angel like you, even more so that graces him with such affection, sincere affection that makes your eyes sparkle.

Diluc leaves you his t-shirt he sleeps in just before going to Angel's Share - it smells like his body wash with a little bit of his natural scent. He usually takes it off in the middle of the night anyway, finding himself to feel a bit too hot for his liking.

Either way, you love cuddling with it. He's not there physically, but it's a reminder that he made it safely and spent the remaining hours of the night next to you.

Zhongli:

he also has his own routine! he wakes up as soon as the sun begins to rise, quietly walking to the kitchen and carefully making a cup of tea for himself. he drinks his tea slowly, shuddering at the taste; his taste buds overflown with the right combination of spices. he finishes his drink just in the right time - it's time to wake you up now.

Zhongli sits on the bed and brushes some of your hair behind your ear; he kisses your forehead and begins to mumble good morning to you. He smiles at you and caresses your cheek with his thumb when he sees you trying to convince him to get just 5 more minutes.

while you finally get up and groggily change your clothes, he goes to prepare your favorite drink, be it tea, coffee, or anything else. he likes to put some mild spices in it to make your usual drink feel a bit more special and surprising. if you can't handle spices, that's fine! instead, he can give you a small snack :)

he really, really wants to brush your hair and vice versa. it's probably one of his favorite morning activities. he's trying his best not to pull your hair and if he does, he places an apologetic kiss on the crown of your hair. he'd be even happier if you let him style your hair, going to the garden or a flower shop nearby and decorating it with small flowers.

but... if you persuade him to get back to bed, he'll oblige. though, in return, you can't fall back asleep - he keeps you awake by asking you if you had any dreams or nightmares, to tell him about them, or what you'd like to eat.

he asks you to do his makeup! Zhongli's perfectly able to do it himself, but he loves seeing how focused you are on the given task, the corners of his lips going up when he hears you curse under your breath, trying to suppress his laugh.

Xiao:

a morning bird (ha!) just like Zhongli, but he has no routine... unless killing demons counts as one. considering this, he usually isn't around when you wake up :( (not that he sleeps anyway.. 90% of the time.)

however, all it takes to make him appear is to call his name - Xiao never misses it and always prioritizes you first. he might roll his eyes if you call him "just" to lie in bed with you. but it's fine - he "berates" you (not really) while almost spooning you.

there are some rare mornings shared together with Xiao, though; he says he has to watch you to keep you safe and hopes that you won't question the excuse any further, but you know it's something else. After all, his hands covering the rosy cheeks seem to give everything away.

in reality, Xiao's cold heart gets well-deserved warmth whenever he sees you sleep. of course he still wants to protect you, but realizing how much trust you have in him to fall asleep without second thoughts is more than anything he could ever want. he smiles, eyebrows knitting together ever so slightly when he pecks your face all over; his kisses are quick and chaste. even though you can't really feel this now, you know his lips leave a tingling sensation.

he lets you sleep a bit longer on his bare hand and doesn't care if it falls asleep. he's so mesmerized by your faith in him that he just does not care. even as simple as it sounds.

when the tiredness gets the best of him, the next morning you find him breathing steadily next to you. you don't wake him up though, probably because as soon as you'd do that, he's gone off to fight the evil. give him a blanket and prepare a plate of almond tofu - the disbelief on his face quickly turns into adoration, accepting the meal and savoring every bite. after he's done, he kisses your knuckles and whispers "I love you" against your skin.

Kaedehara Kazuha:

yet another person who wakes up extremely early. he opens his eyes slowly, blinking a few times to get used to the light; his crimson orbs scan the environment, and his face lights up when there's no danger around. he stretches his arms to shake off the remains of sleepiness and presses a good morning kiss on your shoulder.

he later decides to hunt or fish for fresh meat - depends on what you like more, but he'd be overjoyed if you let him do his signature dish! he doesn't go far, just enough to still keep an eye on you. don't worry - he's also prepared if you don't eat meat at all! he's more than happy to learn recipes to accommodate and just to simply make you smile more.

he starts a small fire nearby your sleeping form, the distance is enough to make you feel warm, but not enough to possibly hurt you. the crackling of fire wakes you up, along with the delicious smell of Kazuha's cooking. when he notices you slowly awakening, his mouth curves into a smile; he shifts next to you and kisses your nose.

he's trying to fight the grin creeping on his face every time you enjoy his food. really, that's why he does that every time you're traveling together. also, by this point - he still has a massive bed hair. please brush his hair in return. and braid it too - he'll touch the finished piece with a blush on his face and shyly thank you for being so kind to him.

also! he trusts you a lot and lets you change his bandage every morning. particular spots hurt more than the others and Kazu tries not to show his pain; but seeing how much care you're putting into it, disinfecting it, and kissing the pain away when he winces - the love stored in his heart makes the relief appear faster.

he ALWAYS makes sure you're all warm and comfy, especially in winter. Kazu covers you entirely with a thick blanket from his bag, the sole item in it during your shared travels. he's also willing to stay cuddled up together for a bit longer when he notices the snowfall outside. his warm breath fans over your neck as his arm over your waist tightens and brings you closer to him.

Dainsleif:

again, another morning person - but slightly less by choice. as soon as Dainsleif shoots open his eyes, he tries to calm down his racing heart; he lets out a sigh of relief when his indigo eyes notice you sound asleep.

he smiles shyly at your intertwined hands. he brings them closer to his face, pressing a sweet kiss on each of your knuckles, careful not to wake you up and give you a bit more time to rest.

even though you've expressed multiple times that you hate it - Dain can't stop guarding you right after awakening himself. He won't get back to sleep no matter what, keeping an eye out on the possible danger. He's aware that you don't like it - but he can't let anything happen to you, not even a scratch if he's nearby. You're everything he has left. He's lost everything else and despite being aware of the strength that gods possess, he's willing to cross blades with them if it meant extending your life more in return.

he always shifts your resting body on his - sometimes just your head on his lap so you can sleep a bit more comfortably, or entirely, so he keeps you secure between his legs, using his chest as a pillow and having his arms wrapped around you tightly.

"Good morning, my star. How was your sleep? Did you have any pleasant dreams?" is his daily mantra he says when he sees you arise. Next, Dain caresses your lips with his own in a tender kiss. if you decide that you feel cheesy that morning, answer something along these lines: "it seems like I haven't awoken from my pleasant dream yet." his cheeks will flush cherry red, hand flying to cover the blush immediately; even if you can't see it, you know it worked. it always does.

Dainsleif might not be kazuha-tier when it comes to cooking, so he prefers to take you to various taverns for your first meal if it's possible (yes, he's in mom-mode when it comes to breakfast and won't stop until you eat, because "breakfast must not be skipped. it's the most important meal!"). however, when that option isn't available, he prepares you a meal himself. some recipes are long forgotten, they taste like nothing else you've eaten before - they taste bizarre at first, but later on dain finally hits the jackpot and discovers your favorite. while your stomach gets filled with khaenri'ahn delicacies, his chest almost suffocates with the warmth and he watches you with twinkling eyes and the most tender smile.

Alhaitham:

this man. he ZOOMS out of bed as soon as the alarm rings. immediately puts on half of his clothes. when he's about to leave the room... he comes back near the bed, gives you a quick kiss on the forehead, and then moves to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee and your favorite drink.

he really wants to avoid Kaveh. he will NOT deal with him in the morning, nuh uh. unless he can make his day a bit worse than Kaveh anticipates...

either way, he lets you sleep 20 more minutes. the exact moment the clock on his wall hits 7:20am, he returns to your shared room and gently shakes you to wake you up. if you don't comply, he just takes you bridal style to the kitchen and sits you on his lap, regardless of whether you still sleep.

he loves pressing you tightly to his chest, inhaling the fresh scent of your laundry detergent and your own, natural one; he hides his face in your neck, closing his eyes. his lips connect with your neck and leave a trail of kisses, while his defined arm tightens around your waist. perhaps that will wake you up?

hearing Kaveh entering the kitchen and greeting you (and mumbling something to him too, but clearly not genuine) he looks at him with a slight annoyance. Kaveh merely lets out a "hmph" sound, clearly unaware of what Alhaitham is about to do. the scribe locks eyes with him shortly before going back to kissing your neck, but this time marking you; the obscene noises cause you to immediately awaken if you haven't, and Kaveh storming out of the room with a blush, muttering curses under his breath. Alhaitham only chuckles as you turn your head to face him, "good morning, love. you've finally woken up. we have to leave soon, so hurry up and drink it before it gets cold like last time."

on his day off, his day starts similarly - he wakes up a bit later though, but still needs his morning coffee. with the steaming drink on his nightstand, he joins you back below the cozy sheets, sitting down with his back against the headboard. he glances at you one last time and kisses your lips ever so slightly, the touch so tender that you barely register it; then, his eyes are glued to the book in hand he's been reading for a few days. if you wish, he'll gladly have you between his legs and let you snore on his chest - you don't even have to say a thing - he automatically rises his arm and waits for you to move without moving his eyes from the book. once you've settled comfortably, he pulls up the duvet and puts his chin on your head (and occasionally rubs your back gently, but denies it. even if you catch him. every time).

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

• EXTREMELY. Cannot keep their hands to themselves– physical touch is their love language. Gets touch starved so easily it's kind of sad. Has to be holding hands at all times off work. Absolutely loves hugs, kisses and cuddling you so much. ( ˊᵕˋ )♡

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

• They met you when you were both going to school. Considers themself lucky to have met you in the first place even if you weren't both studying archeology. Extremely loyal and caring and always went out of their way to spend time with you when they saw you. Encouraged you to try your best at everything and was always enthusiastic to learn whatever you were learning about.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

• YES– loves to be the big spoon if you're shorter. Being little spoon is also great to them. Would and could cuddle you for days on end if life permitted it. Loves it when you lay your head on their chest and listens to their heartbeat, and they love doing the same to you if they had a particularly rough day. Loves to rub your hand with their thumb when holding it (also known as the Thumb Thing™️).

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

• One day they definitely want to when their body can't keep up with adventuring anymore. You both take turns cooking and cleaning unless you're particularly tired or sick, then they switch into Parent Mode™️ and take care of everything to the best of their ability.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

• I'm pretty sure you're stuck with them for life. You'd literally have to die in order to break up... 😭 Like once they find someone that puts up with all their shenanigans that's it. You're locked in for life. Good luck.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

• Would absolutely brag nonstop about having a spouse. Definitely mentions them without thinking ("Oh my god I gotta show Y/N" "I wonder how Y/N is doing today" "I wonder if Y/N would like this") but getting married depends on you honestly. They're fine with just being in a committed relationship.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

• They're tougher than they realize sometimes, but they try to be as gentle as they can depending on your sensory tolerance. Emotionally they're the sweetest little goober ever so you'll never have to worry about them hurting your feelings!

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

• Hugs are their lifeblood, second to cuddles. They don't even ask for them– just expect for them to have their arms around you at nearly all times. Their hugs are super warm and comforting! Loves to hold on to you a lot and just sway back and forth a little bit and just enjoy your physical company.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

• Says it by accident a couple dates in, gets so embarrassed about it that they avoid you for a day or so until they feel guilty and talk to you about it. Didn't even think about the possibility you'd say it back (and mean it) until you actually did because you were worried about them avoiding you.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

• Gets a little jealous if they see someone making you laugh but they're not going to make a big deal about it. They usually cheer up with hugs and reassurance if they really need it. Has a lot of trust in you, but they can be a tiny bit insecure and worry they're not good enough... they'd never tell you that, though.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

• Literally anywhere and everywhere but is a giant fan of forehead and cheek kisses. If you wear lipstick and leave a mark behind they love it even more, but don't expect them to tell you that. Loves to shower kisses on parts of yourself that you're insecure about.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

• A giant goofball around kids, and they're excellent with them. Has no idea if they want kids of their own yet though.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

• They're usually up first and always bring you coffee how you like it. Makes breakfast if they have the time but usually just puts a bagel in the toaster and is out the door. On days they aren't busy they love to cuddle you until you wake up. If you're the one up first they panic when the bed is empty (how did you escape their arms?!?!) before inevitably falling back asleep again... but not for long.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

• Sleeps much, much better with you beside them. Has to be holding on to you in order to stay asleep and ends up taking up the entire bed as a result. You have definitely fallen asleep holding their hand and woke up still holding it. Big fan of reading with you until you both fall asleep.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

• Accidentally opens up about the most random things but doesn't mind sharing their experiences if you're sharing yours. Mostly afraid of opening up too much because they're afraid of being seen as annoying or overly dependent so they need some reassurance that you're okay with them sharing things about themself.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

• Easily frustrated at some things (usually equipment and unforeseeable circumstances) but it takes a lot to actually get them angry. Would never take it out on anyone but themself, though.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

• Remembers every detail of your conservations down to the time you said it. Almost a concerning level of memorization but it's done out of love and not because they're being weird– they promise!

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

• If you're married then it's definitely your wedding. If you're not married then it's definitely the first date.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

• More protective then they realize. Always subconsciously likes to hover over you, so you're always accidentally running into them when you turn around. Otherwise they need you to be nearby if possible because you're their biggest comfort! They feel protected just being around you.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

• Tries their hardest at literally everything but not everything always goes the way they want it to... 😭 Always remembers your birthday and anniversary because it's some of the happiest days of their life. Puts 110% into finding the perfect gifts for you and would always prefer to make/find it themself rather then buy anything (but can't help it if they buy you a plushie of your favorite animal).

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Definitively more of the latter. I feel almost any Wukong has a "I don't get no f--king sleep 'cause of y'all! Ya'll not gonna get no sleep 'cause of me"-relationship with Heaven/Celestial Realm. Dawn/Peach and Ace are more likely to blackmail this connection because of how long they've been around + having already completed their Journey. The others either keep quiet about their connection, or (most likely Cherry) no one would believe them anyway.

Xiao Qi remembers being Fruitie/Qi Energy, and specifically reincarnated so he could have a chance at meeting Monkey once again + go on the Pilgrimage. Of course he miscalculated how small, underdeveloped, and Baby he'd be, so it's gonna be a while before he can verbalize to Smokey that "Fruitie" is ok.

Xiao Lu however is the first fresh slate Yuandi has ever had in it's endless existance. Nuwa would likely show the soul some kindness and pour Meng Po's broth onto the clay so that the resulting baby wouldn't remember the eons trapped beneath the earth. Xiao Lu does however, remember her counterpart Qi Energy, and that they were fighting over something involving "Baba" [Smokey].

Xiao Lu assumes it's because Baba is her Baba and no one elses, so she perches on the brown monkey's shoulder and hisses at her brother whenever he comes near him. It's very cute.

Xiao Qi and Xiao Lu spend so much time play-fighting it's adorable. At first the adults thought it was cute, now they're starting to wonder if the pair are actually training for a future showdown. Then again it's hard to tell since in the blurr of black and white fuzz.

YTTD does something really really interesting with the Sara/Keiji dynamic that I absolutely adore: namely that whenever it - or specifically Keiji's side in it - is questioned, the game itself provides the answers without directly stating them

In chapter 1 we all sat there like "why is this whole ass adult who is 10 years older than Sara and, allegedly, a fucking COP, putting this literal 17 year old wannabe samurai in charge of their survival?"

Chapter 2 reveals he can literally see what's going on inside a person at as little as a glance, an ability he inadvertently teaches Sara to emulate. So obviously he'd put the person with the coolest head in charge, even if it's a high school student, cuz he doesn't trust himself for shit. At first it's, as Kai says, cuz she and Joe can vouch for each other but once he gets to know and can start to read her? She's the boss now.

Does he actually trust her or is he just using her? Chapter 2 comes in with the steel chair of "oh he doesn't trust her cuz he doesn't trust himself, but he WANTS to trust her and he genuinely cares for her. Look how he tries to keep her hallucinations in check cuz he understands this situation, look how he opens up to her after realising he hurt her, look how he is literally putting his life in her hands by giving her the Keymaster". Like, yeah, he's not someone who can trust easily, and he definitely started this game using her, but he's clearly making an effort when he doesn't have to and the game doesn't need to spell it out to make it obvious.

The plan didn't require for Sara to have the Keymaster, they just have to know where it is, but he hands it to Sara. "This is my life, please take good care of it". Especially poignant after Sara told him that getting someone to trust you requires trusting them first. He hurt her by showing he doesn't trust her but she's made it clear she does trust him and now he wants to earn that trust by giving her his own, no matter how hard that is for him.

Why does he still constantly lie to her? Cuz Sara can't lie for shit, he says so himself, the game shows it constantly. "Do you have the sacrifice?" "*most obvious reaction on the fucking planet*" She literally can't lie if her life depends on it so he does it for her. She can't lie about something she doesn't know the truth of and he's very good at lying.

Oh no, there's ONE human from Asunaro in the group?! The thing they've been afraid of since the first floor has been confirmed on floors 4 and 5?! It can't be Kai anymore, he's dead. It can't be Q-taro, he's way too open about his orphanage being managed by Asunaro. Reko or Alice? Yeah, unlikely. Gin or Kanna/Sou? Yeah, get real. That leaves Keiji, right? WRONG. It's Hinako, and cuz Floor Masters can't lie, there is now NO humans from Asunaro within the group.

Does he actually care about her or just her ability to save them? Well, first off, during the Sub-Game, if you loose Spirit Shutter with him he tries to get the dolls to kill him first. Then during the doll house he risks his and Q-taro's plan for the Banquet two times for Sara and chooses death for her.

After Ranmaru's fake announcement he abandons all stealth to make sure she's safe and his freak out over her falling unconscious was not faked. And then during the Banquet he risks exposing himself by trying to reassure her over the radio. Both of these are profoundly idiotic things to do if his main goal was to keep as many alive as possible. It's not tho, he's out to protect Sara above all and what happens to him in that doesn't matter.

Not to mention that Ranmaru accusing him of being the reason Sara is there in the first place is the one time he completely drops the blasé act cuz doing something to hurt Sara is something he just can't see himself do.

And full disclosure, I doubt he is even cognizant that he's slipped into this. He saw her cry once and then all bets were off, big brother/dad mode engage, all hands on deck, baby girl must be protected at a costs.

Hell, he would rather die by extremely painful execution than let Sara live with the guilt of killing Gin for him. And, being the Curious Cat that I am, I have tried to do just that to see what happens. The answer is, nothing happens. You can try multiple times and Keiji will stop Sara from going through with it every single time. At that point he has no idea he's actually safe because Q-taro's in his coffin, but he calmly tells Sara that it's okay. He literally chooses death to keep her hands clean.

And that the most manipulative members of the cast make it a point to mention again and again how precious Sara is to him, and that it's also mentioned multiple times that he's the one Sara trusts the most is another can of worms all together.

The only times Midori's manipulations of Sara actually affect her enough to waver are because he threatens Keiji to get to her and if no one had interfered - Ranmaru first and Keiji the last time - it would have ended badly for her in more ways than one.

It just gets me that despite everything, the trust issues and lies and fear, Sara and Keiji are a package deal now, basically were a package deal the moment they met

I was curious about what kind of drunk I'd be considering my colorful family's different reactions and thought about this.

(I'd likely end up as a weepy, affectionate drunk until someone ticked me off cause I low-key already wanna cry a lot and it's mostly social anxiety that keeps me from physically expressing my love for friends without being a shit about it)

(which ig is better than a raging drunk or someone with a personality shift so severe drunk me has a different name and a reputation of being incredibly temperamental and aggressive)

But anyway! To the list!

Marco

As a happy drunk he's amused and generally happy to watch you run around being a jackass. Affectionately. Not likely to get too dragged into shenanigans but willing to supervise if only to tease you about it later.

As a weepy drunk he's more inclined to sit beside you and gently rub your back if it's more melancholy driven. Softly affirming but not letting you spiral too hard into depression. If it's "cry because snakes don't have arms to hug" he's pretty amused and willing to 'hear you out'. There will be a point where he stops letting you drink and switches to water though. As funny as it may be, dehydration is a bitch with a hangover.

As an affectionate drunk he's a bit startled if this is different from how you usually are. But he's also way more careful about distracting you since not everyone will innocently enjoy your affections. The last thing he wants is to take his eyes off of you and you end up with a creepy perving on you for a 'hug'.

As an angry drunk he's a bit amused and worried about all this tension you're suddenly setting loose. Willing to redirect it to himself so you don't break shit or fight someone you're not prepared for--regardless of how scrappy you are.

Drinking like a fish has him vibing with you and eventually weaning you onto water just to be safe. It's nice to not be the only sober-ish one at the party.

Blackouts will get a nice rundown the next day with appropriate teasing depending on what it is.

Sleepy drunks get amused cuddles and teasing. The party is still going and he expects a hearty thanks for keeping you safe from pranks while you're passed out.

Ace

Ace is literally that there with you for just about all of these, btw. He's very... communal in his vibes, really good at matching energy. So if you're a happy drunk he's laughing like a loon with you!

He's awkward if you're weepy though, genuinely growing distressed even if you're crying over something silly and this worry extends past the hangover. Expect a lot of warm, supportive hugs. Its rough out here buddy, but he's here for you.

Affectionate drunks throw him off weirdly enough. He vibes but always seems shocked to be dragged into a hug. But he will be mindful of who's hanging around you when you're like this. Kind of enjoys hogging your attention like this.

Angry drunks will find the perfect fighting partner with Ace but he won't be... gentle about it. Perfectly at ease focusing your rage on himself as long as he initiates first. Feels hurt if it's hate on sight cause you're so close, why are you mad at him 🥲

Put out if you appear sober despite drinking more than him. Expect pouting.

Blackouts will be very thrown by his description of what went down cause it never sounds right for some reason. Lightly fucks with you.

Sleepy drunks get soft cuddles, mostly cause he's warm and weak to hugs if you look pathetic enough.

He's pretty close to the life of the party so he's happy to have a happy drunk alongside him. Goading you into shenanigans and being goaded in return, it's a blast and he's a good sport about it.

Weeping throws him off as he starts to switch into 'party Dad' mode, gently giving you water instead as you cry your heart out. He feels bad getting you to drink, though less so if it's silly things making you cry, it's pretty clear you're really in your feelings when you're drunk. Plenty of hugs and encouragement while he listens to your woes. Hugs you first thing when you wake up.

Angry drunks amuse him and he enjoys teasing you into tripping over yourself or doing stupid shit out of pride. Careful not to go too far, he still likes to toe the line occasionally. He likes knowing you're ready to throw down if he suggests it though. Could come in handy later.

Affectionate drunks are his favorite because he enjoys the ego boost that comes with hogging the attention. A lot of goading and fishing for compliments until he's glowing for reasons separate from the booze. Pouts when someone else steals your attention. He just wants to be your favorite. Knocks out the lights of whoever tries some shit while you're all too willing to hug random strangers.

You never have to worry if you blackout cause he'll make sure you're safe and don't do anything too crazy. It's pretty reassuring but occasionally he tries to mess with you with fake stories.

If you're a sleepy drunk he puts you to bed, lol. Depending on how far along the party is, you can probably make him cuddle you. He doesn't want to miss the whole thing but feels bad you didn't get to have a fun time cause the booze makes you too tired. And he likes the affection, there's no denying it.

But my fawning over your art aside haha, for the scenario of a random grunt with no real significance to the story somehow being controlled by the Player would probably be the result of some glitch, or you just end up controlling one with the mod you use. Either way, it would be a chance occurrence for the grunt, and probably one of the most important and memorable moments of their life going forward.

They'd never felt anything like the surge of warmth from your control; the heat that swallowed them burned pleasantly, it made them feel safe, almost like they were being embraced protectively. For once they weren't plagued by anxiety or nervousness, as the fuzzy haze that settled over their mind just filled them with a feeling of trust and relaxation. In that small moment where they were first overwhelmed by you and all that you brought, they knew with absolute certainty that they could rely on you, depend on you completely as they trusted you to control them. You'd keep them safe, they knew it.

Even better were your little comments on how cute you found them and the praise you showered them with. They never felt as appreciated or as adored by anyone as much as with you. Plus, you were a far more powerful being than them; although they didn't know the full extent of your abilities or your place in Nevada's hierarchy, they knew that the chances of them having your attention were slim to none. This was proof in their minds that it was a blessing from you, and they were immensely grateful for the fact that someone as great as you would have any interest in them. It doesn't take very long at all for this idolization and genuine appreciation to mix with fondness and affection, to the point they blush and shake whenever you focus on them. It seems this lucky grunt might be forming a bit of a crush on their otherworldly protector.

Hello shigaraki expert! Been a while, how are you? My question for today is: what are the similarities between izuku and shigaraki? Both in personality, and experiences and how do they diverge? Happy Aquarius season!

I've gone back and forth on this a lot--used to think they were SOOO similar, then I thought they were sooooo different, now I'm kind of just in the middle.

For their experiences, Tomura's villain journey is subverted, kind of fake-out version of Izuku's hero journey. Izuku inherited a legacy that was genuinely intended to be passed onto him, for him to carry forward and surpass the person who passed the legacy onto him. Tomura on the other hand got handed a legacy that was never intended for him to keep, to carry forward for himself. Nope. Their experiences start out the same in a perfectly foiled way, and then diverge into different pathways when Tomura's coming-of-age villain journey turns out to be a farce from the get go, since AFO never wanted him to mature and see inside himself and figure life out the right way. Very very unlike what All Might genuinely wants for Izu and the rest of the UA kids.

Similarities I'd draw between the two of them are their self-destructive tendencies, lack of self-preservation in general, and kind of a refusal to face their past selves. That last one is a similarity but also a difference. But they both go go go until they're almost dead on their feet. Both had no problem offering up their bodies for a greater power--though obviously Tomura's situation was under false pretenses while Izuku's was genuinely meant for him to take for himself.

As for their personalities I think it's hard to compare and contrast because pretty much all of Tomura's personality that we've seen in the timeline of the manga is trauma response. His endless anger? Result of trauma. His jaded and nihilistic outlook on pretty much everything? Trauma. The occasional catastrophic emotional outbursts? Trauma.

I think the similarities in personality are that Tomura accepts people as they come (the ones he allows to live--aka just the LOV lol) while Izuku looks for the best in people. So in a way, if you take the murder and the trauma out of Tomura, I think you could say they're both relatively easy going people when it comes to interacting with others (in both of their cases, depending on who it is). Tomura lets things slide when his teammates yell at him, threaten him, decide to just not cooperate with him. Izuku is able to shake off instances when people take their issues out on him, or rather he's able to move on from them smoothly (with these traits, I think they're literally the perfect hero and villain for each other lol). In other ways though they're both super tightly wound and can flip like a switch, but in different ways for different reasons. Tomura is easily triggered and it's catastrophic when he is, and Izuku is an over-thinker/over-analyzer, and if someone hits the right nerve (insulting the life of someone he cares about, threatening someone's happiness, those things we've seen him get pissed off about) he gets easily riled up for that. Fun stuff.

If we're looking at 5 year old Tenko, I think there are more similarities. Both were kids who wanted to befriend the friendless or stick up for the bullied. I think we'll find at the end with Tomura when we see more of his personality is that at their core, they're both sensitive and compassionate people. Tomura just....really isn't capable of showing anything like that right now, even though it's in there, deep down (which is the point of showing Tenko so much, a reminder that he is like that).

I'm really more wanting to see what Tomura is like when he isn't just in constant crisis mode. The personality he does have isn't very visible to us right now and I'm eager to see him differently before the end of the manga.

I will start by saying that I don’t really personally ship them (although I enjoy it when other do, and I appreciate their dynamic) but I’ll answer these the best I can.

Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?

Florida canonically (?) writes fanfiction about them, so he totally ships it if only for the chaos potential. I feel like many of the other states are also like, “JUST [CENSORED] KISS ALREADY AND SAVE US THE AGGREVATION!”

Who felt romantic feelings first?

Okay, so they’re both total hopeless romantics at heart, but Cali is slightly more in-touch with his feelings so he would definitely be the first to notice something. Texas would forever deny DENY DENY.

What was their first kiss like?

I feel like it would be cliché but super on-brand if it was accidental somehow. I have no idea how it would happen, but somehow they end up kissing and Texas likes it and can’t stop thinking about it but refuses to admit it. And Cali is a little shit and gloats about how flustered Texas gets when he thinks about it. He would keep bringing it up just to see how red Texas’ face gets.

Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear?

Cali, because as previously noted, he is a little shit. He’s always trying to make Texas as flustered as possible. He knows exactly what to say to get a reaction out of him. It’s a bit of an ego trip for him to have that kind of power over him because IMO it’s literally impossible for Cali to do anything without bringing his ego into it. And vice versa.

Who’s better at comforting the other?

They both have their moments. In times of real, genuine trouble (like in that *one* Table News, you know the one) they instantly enter Supportive Partner Mode. Cali might go a little bit overboard with “therapist talk” sometimes, trying to psychoanalyze Texas’ every negative emotion and try to find a solution to every problem, when all Texas needs is a shoulder to cry on and someone to listen to him rant. Likewise, Texas doesn’t always know how to deal with Cali when he’s upset because he’s not the best at the whole “emotional expression” thing, and Cali sometimes has all of the emotions, all at the same time. But they try their best to understand each other.

What songs apply to their relationship?

Honestly I need to work on this a bit more; I definitely don’t have as many songs as I should, but here’s few that remind me of them for some reason:

I HC Cali as an obnoxious morning person (like even despite the time zone differences he’s up earlier than everyone else and hyped up on several cups of coffee and terrifyingly intense about his morning routine). So Texas is always trying to convince him to come back and just chill out for a bit.

Who’s the better cook?

It depends on what they’re making! Texas knows what all of Cali’s “guilty pleasures” are and he loves baking sweet treats. He’s always the one doing the BBQ-ing and making super dense comfort foods. He also makes a lot of Tex-Mex type stuff. He tends to stick with the same kinds of foods that he’s familiar with and knows he’s good at making. He rarely branches out to different recipes. Cali, on the other hand, is the experimental chef. He will try literally anything and doesn’t always succeed. Sometimes Texas has to step in to keep him from burning down the kitchen while trying to blow torch a crème brulee or something. Cali is prone to fad diets (which can be super unhealthy) and so Texas has to deal with his constant experimenting with substitutions and workarounds for ingredients he “can’t” have. And then when Cali’s “experiments” end up tasting awful, he bakes cookies and they cuddle and watch movies on the couch.

She vaguely was aware of the soul connection, Po simply didn’t know who it was or where they are. By the time she was brought to the dome, which was early because Po was developing faster than the other test subjects, she was so obsessed that she wouldn’t even care if the person was mean.

Luckily it was good boy Tinky. Po despised being separated from Tinky for too long, she would scream and cry if she decided ten seconds was too long. She wanted to copy everything Tinky did, not understanding that a 3 year old couldn’t do everything a 10 year old could.

Also reader just being all excited to shop, jer is TRYING to keep up. He is definitely under copius amounts of stress. But, he doesn’t mind shopping with his Alice, It just depends on what stores your going to!

For instance, he will happily go window shopping! Any pretty dresses, china cups, snow globes…he will gladly buy you. He loves going antique shopping. Its a small store, so he can’t lose you! Not to mention, its more his aesthetic.

But grocery store shopping? god forbid, a COSTCO?? a WALMART.. HOBBY LOBBY?? the biggest convience stores you can imagine in Gotham?? Oh dear, he is certainly panicking. WHERE DID HIS LITTLE RABBIT GO??? Hes sweating, hes tweaking out, hes hypnotizing every store clerk if they saw a woman matching your description ; jervis…you can just ask them.

Turns out you just got trapped giggling around the numerous toy aisles. Or just went to the bathroom. Wherever you were, when he finds you, hes VERY relieved and very astounded. Let him catch his breath.

You…might be hypnotized to stay away from stores in the future. Or better yet? Hypnotized to stay with him at home for a week. He’ll get some poor sap to fetch you your supplies instead…the two of you can cuddle ;)

No one asked for this, but I'm gonna do it anyway: sourboi's tips for bringing more jewish tradition into your life without going whole hog (pun intended) from day one!

Keeping Kosher:

This was the hardest for me, because I'm a picky eater and sensitive to a lot of foods, so my menu is generally pretty limited. What really helped me was finding things that I really liked first, and then replacing non-kosher items with them. For example, pepperoni pizza was a staple food for me, and I really didn't want to give it up because I couldn't eat any other toppings. However, a friend made me an insanely good pizza with chicken on it, and once I had that it was (almost) easy to give up pepperoni!

Keeping the Sabbath:

Admittedly this one is a little tricky, and it really depends on how strict you want to get. For a while I had to work on Saturdays, but even now I don't just stay at home today- Saturday is, after all, a rugby day. But I say that counts because I'm doing it for recreation, and thats what helps me relax after a long week. Other more Jewish things I do: candles, every Friday night. It takes five minutes and really helps my brain shift into weekend-mode. I also have a Jewish Playlist that I listen to while I'm making dinner, and I have at least one song that I can sing along to. I also have a Torah discussion podcast that I try listen to (Parsha Podcast by Rabbi Yakov Wolbe).

Holidays:

Again, this one is hard for me to do, but more because I am quite literally the only Jew in town and the nearest synagogue is 3 hours away. For the High Holidays, or Yom Kippur at least, I'll probably get a motel room so I can go to service the whole time. Otherwise, my favorite thing to do is cook; there are fantastic dishes and baked goods for every holiday, and often I make enough that I can share with my friends.

one aspect im really enjoying is playing with the "secret identities" within the love square!! like all the combos of meeting up between hana(e) and (shuu)mei

my fave so far has been the fake dating chapters between mei and yuuma :3 literally so cute. its like 4 tropes in one couple!! plus the contrast between the badass mei and the shy (but still dependable) hana(e) is adorable!!!

something i've noticed thaat i really enjoy is that hana(e) whille in "girl mode", does a complete personality 180, while mei seems to basically act the same no matter how she looks, simply just more smiley around hana , and i find that contrast really cute! its like hana is hana(e)'s "true" self, or at least the self she wants to be, whereas (shuu)mei is able to be himself no matter what she looks like .. or at least thats the way i've been analysing it

i'd love to hear your thoughts about the two's personalities in "boy mode" versus "girl mode" <- speaking simply about their presentation

the fake dating chapters were SO cute i get it!!! yuuma standing up for them even if he'd probably get his ass beat afterwards was everything to me. and mei tossing them back into the river msdkgjhjkthksjdgdh her approval of him at that time was so cute too wagh. i think my personal fav set of chapters were the horror movie date and and the mei reveal to yuzuru!! i love shuumei and yuzurus bond so much, its not often i see a deep platonic friendship like that portrayed without it turning into "oh its bc ive had feelings for u the whole time" kind of thing yknow. also terrified mei is just the cutest thing in the world to me i love him!! shes having an awful time!! hana i understand

hana definitely does do a complete flip in personality and becomes more outgoing and comfortable around people as a girl and its rly sweet, presenting as a girl does so much for her and the person he's always wanted to be like i wish her only the best. love how supportive hiyoko's been going so far as to let him keep her girl clothes in her closet djkgsjkgsdh both little sibling charas mean the world to me actually

mei on the other hand definitely isnt much different from his usual shuumei persona other than maybe less rough in line with the "girl" image (though i adore when she starts going beast mode also. i love u mei) and even if at first he only started to become mei in order to get to know hana it seems shes started to enjoy herself in general and its super neat to me. i think about the mei and pride bonus chapter every day of my life its ok girl you can have fun. free yourself!!

though the few interactions between yuuma-mei and shuumei-hana r also super sweet, seeing them let a bit of their hana and mei tendencies slip during those times is super cute i absolutely cannot wait for them to figure it out/reveal themselves at some point :'] also this parallel in particular super funny to me you can really see the yuuma behind hana and shuumei under mei. silly guys

also especially liked the shuumei gang hostage chapter mdskgjdksghj girl went in more excited to investigate paranormal activity forgetting the initial goal then really just walked in and asked to pick him up from an entire gang of violent punks. and actually did. iconic. and shuumei the wet cat ever kjsdgkgdshkj she was rly cute in that chapter he just wants hana to hear him out :']]] lil guys ever
