Took a wrong turn on a trail yesterday and ended up having to back track, (not ideal to add an extra mile in 95° blazing sun/white sand) but it ended up worth it because this little nugget mantis found me in the middle of the trail! The Little Yucatán Mantis (Mantoida maya*) is indeed little, she's full grown and barely over an inch. Not that much bigger than the tiger beetles which roam the sands. I've only seen 3, and a couple babies (which are ant mimics!), and had just one picture of an adult before today. 🖤

*This species is native to central Florida and southward into Central America, as the name implies

the way logans and wades personalities fit well with eachother like....the traditionally attributed as masculine personality traits(aggression, self reliant, inability to nurture, linear perspective,shoving his deeper feelings away, direct. predictable)

and the traditionally attributed as usually feminine personality traits(emotional, more easily prone to anxiety and depression, nurturing, intuitive, vulnerable,flowing,etc.). they're opposite one another

and in the end they sort of had to like be more like one another wade had ot be direct with his feelings and logan had to trust them and follow his own emotions.

i think logan has proved himself as a true friend but wade has proved himself as someone whos very safe and loving, and nurturing its like if hes willing to trick, brute force, do anything for his family's safety i think logan thought being a part of that would be something very safe and wonderful to be a part of.

he even took his suit from under his clothes he's just been so ready to have a family and a place to belong!!!!!!

not only is logan predictable he is stable, he's safe and he's indestructable, strong i think he's very loving he has a lot of love to give he just needs the opportunity and hes not looking for others approval. hes secure and stable i think wade needs that.

while wade is kind, loving, nurturing, gentle and so safe and logan needs that. its like logan constantly has the same uneventful miserable life and wade constantly has a highly intense chaotic life they need eachothers balance. something new but something very strong and stable
