funny thing that happened to me today:

I was on the phone with my dad, and we talked about the news. I told him I'm a bit scared because of the current political situation.

Dude asks me why I'm scared, and then, get this, he goes: Do you even know what exactly fear is?

I think it's so sad how for me Ghost is not appreciated enough (not only in the rock world but in music world in general) and I know it's mostly because it's a "satanic" band and not in the standards but all they do is so GREAT.

the songs and all the albums are so good and well writing and produced. the shows are all amazing, and THE LORE IS UNBELIEVABLE. Tobias gave us one of the best things in the world, he gave us a band with incredible stories, music and outfits.

idk I just wish it was more appreciated.

[ ϟ ]—– There is a quiet around him that he had not experienced for the past several days and nights.

Beneath his feet, stretching forward for as far as his gaze could follow, lay a vast expanse of dark red soil, earth - or so he hoped - that had been dampened by something. Hope burned brighter within the Asgardian that it had been rain, pattering down or showering the ground beneath him, and briefly golden head is raised towards the sky, his senses searching for something familiar in the air.

No petrichor could be noted, but there was certainly moisture, and a short-lived gust of air fluttering past his tresses, disappearing as quickly as it came.

Bending at the knees large, calloused hand reaches to grasp a handful of the earth, rolling the heap of it languidly, then, smelling it with a deep inhale.

It had potential, held promise and possibility that crops could be grown here, but it lacked the deep, rich scent that would convince him it was suitable.

Cautiously does he wander onward, towards the left where an outline of greenery lay spread out in erratic, uneven patters. Bushes with oddly shaped leaves stood still and were unmoving, producing no sound and looking entirely unfamiliar. Landscape shifting and transforming, behind the low growing flora trees coming into view.

That was a good sign; indeed, trees meant wood, which was needed to build, trees meant protection and cover, meant fire and hearth could prevail here.

And they were in desperate need of both.

For a moment he pauses then, not out of apprehension or fear to move onward in the now clearly visible forest, but to assess the size of it, searching for anything familiar.

An ash tree perhaps, or an oak...

Bitterness, born from familiar swirl of regret, pain, worry, rose up within his core like bile, and exhaling deeply he wonders if this strange world could ever, ever replace what was lost.

Thoughts threatening to emerge were dismissed with a firm shake of his head, now more than ever there was no time to dwell on losses and grief, to think on what was ripped from him and his people. Now he would need to move, one step before the other, tentatively between the trees, and hold true to his promise to find them a new home.

it's weird that while digimon world next order is like mechanically a better dw game and lets you have more control over how you raise your digimon, digimon world redigitize decode has a better gameplay loop to me anyway. like in next order after a few generations and lifespan upgrades the digimon just Don't Fucking Die which is a real ordeal when it comes to actually completing the beastiary, and it makes it really difficult to estimate when to do important story fights and when to fuck around bc your fellas are about to die anyway. redigitize seems to have a set lifespan for your digimon that doesn't increase with generations, it's just base stats that do, and it gives you this neat about 15 in-game day cycle of raising your dude up (which can be done entirely in the gym) and exploring in-between if you need to adjust your stats carefully for specific evolutions. if redigitize had the evolution control of next order i think i'd say it's the ultimately better experience just for that tbh

Some characters from one of the many narratives rolling around my brain that has been tentatively titled "Reidlind" after the seaside town they all live in:

Halloran "Hal" Gittings: Reidlind's new fisherman, who rolls into town and precedes to sleep with most of the residents, although currently he mostly hooks up with Irving. Originally from this universe's magical epicenter but strongly dislikes magic for reasons he will not explain.

Irving Quill: A reclusive historical researcher who lives on the small island off the coast of Reidling and rarely leaves or allows visitors. His parents died when he was around 14 and he was sent to live with family friends, who's daughter he was engaged to until it was suddenly called off. Hooks up with Hal on the regular, who is the only person other than Maeve allowed to visit Isle Aster, and has an obsession with the occult.

Maeve Byrnes: Irving's former fiancee, who seemingly popped onto the face of the planet out of nowhere one day and made a name for herself as an archeologist when she discovered some ancient ruins in a city that serves as the continent's trading hub. Not much is known about her past other than that her breakup with Irving was amicable.

Lorelei Clark: Riedlind's shipwright, who moved there from the aforementioned trading hub in her early 20s after the death of her father. Is one of the only people in town who has not slept with Hal.

Matthias Dawson: The local butcher, who goes to great lengths to assure that their product is accessible to the poorer citizens despite their seemingly apathetic disposition. The subject of a lot of town gossip as he mostly keeps to himself, but a lot of important people seem to be wary of him. Has a very tense relationship with the town's mayor. Arguably Hal's best friend.

Theodore "Theo" Alinac: The only son of a rich jewelry merchant from Eytrest, a city-nation that is very closed off from the other continents. The subject of his father's endless disappointment and ire. Had a one-night stand with Hal around the time of his arrival that ended poorly due to the courtship and matrimonial customs in his homeland not including the concept of casual partners.
