your parents didn’t understand why you’d want to do anything to the body they brought into this world. your friends thought plastic surgery was an excessive response and that it could potentially be dangerous. but none of them understood what it felt like to wake up everyday and be reminded that you were stuck in this body, the fear that no-one will ever be able to love you and that you’d consequently end up alone for the rest of your pitiful life.

your grip on the pen grows a little tighter as you remind yourself why you’re here.

you feel a set of eyes on you as you’re getting to the end of the form, so you look up, locking eyes with a gorgeous woman in a clean white lab coat, curious eyes behind a set of thick spectacles that frame her face perfectly. with all your experience analysing how you look you can't help but think she would be the perfect reference for your surgical procedures.

but you're also hit with thoughts of why is she looking at me? is she judging me? i bet she's judging me. fuck what is she looking at? is it my legs? my arms? my nose? is she thinking i'm an unsolveable case? fuck i shouldn't have come here. i should go now-

"hi, y/n?"

you're snapped out of your thoughts when you realise the pretty woman is now standing in front of you.

your eyes widen when she introduces herself. dr im. the most well-renowned plastic surgeon in the industry. you heard rumours that she had waitlists up to 20 years long and that you couldn't get an appointment with her except through referral. she was the one who brought this clinic its reputation of the leading plastic surgery clinic in the country.

"i-i'm sorry there must be some mistake? i didn't think the dr. im would be my advising clinician today."

she smiles again, "well no i wasn't meant to be but i came to grab some files from the front desk and i saw you and asked jiyeon," she gestures to the receptionist who handed you your form, "and found out you were here for an advisory session and forgive me if i'm being forward but i just thought you were beautiful and wondered what you possibly could've wanted to get done."

it's more of an office than a doctor's room, you note the expensive leather and framed awards and certifications hanging on her wall, the neatly organised desk and pretty flowers that decorate and give the room some colour.

you sit cautiously in one of the chairs in front of her desk as she moves to sit in hers

"water?" she offers you.

you shake your head no, glancing down at your hands and fiddling with them just to be able to do something.

she looks over your form very briefly before looking back to you with a kind smile. "so what were you hoping to get out of coming here today y/n?"

you can't look up at her, "u-um just... y'know. like... everything..."

she cocks her head, "everything?"

"yeah like... face, body, all of it."

nayeon frowns, "that would be quite an expensive procedure."

you're getting more and more frustrated. this was a famous plastic surgeon who dealt with thousands of surgeries and has probably met cases like yours but she still doesn't seem to understand you. just like your parents and your friends, no-one understood.

"why does it matter to you? i want to get lots of things done that’ll make you lots of money and that really should be your only concern."

she narrows her eyes at you, “y/n, i couldn’t care less about the money. look around.” she gestures to her office, all the expensive trinkets and decorations she has lying around, “i have enough money to support a family for 100 lifetimes. what i do care about are my clients-”

you burst, “what do you know?! you’ve probably spent your whole life being adored for everything you do. people probably fall over themselves just to get a chance to talk to you! you’ll never understand how it feels to be unloved, to hate yourself when you wake up every morning and look in the mirror, to think everyone’s always talking about you, looking at you, judging you, you’re so beautiful you couldn’t ever know!”

she’s surprised at your sudden increase in volume. you had kept all of this in for so long, you felt like if you ever told anyone else they’d just think you were complaining but it was so much more debilitating than that. you couldn’t talk to your parents or your friends out of fear they’d think you were too needy or attention-seeking or whatever. nayeon was the first stranger who had shown they cared for you and you took that as a sign to release all your years of pent up frustration at her.

in short, staff were offered a severance deal of the higher of $30k or six months' salary. while that's very generous, it's still very risky in today's tech market, especially (for the same reasons i mentioned when Matt was melting down on here) for people outside the US, people who need the health insurance, or people with young kids. despite that, 10% decided with very little notice (they had two days to decide) to leave.

However now, I feel much lighter. I’m grateful and thankful for all the people who took the offer, and even more excited to work with those who turned down $126M to stay. As the kids say, LFG!

i'm thrilled to see some of my ex-colleagues make it out. i'm keeping the rest who have stayed on in my thoughts. i don't know anyone who's wholesale shilling for Matt.

Matt's been pressuring staff to post in support of him, @-ing the entire company to vote on Twitter polls in his favor, and so on. many of the people who stayed have written blog posts about it, all starting with "I stayed". people on social media have pointed out the very clear pattern of Automatticians jumping into discourse to defend Matt, and it doesn't look good.

i don't have a lot to say about those posts, except to highlight Jeffrey Zeldman, whose "I stayed" post is perhaps one of the more honest ones. (his Rodney King reference was in poor taste, and he... i don't like his role at automattic, tbc) but like. he's nearly 70. he helped shape the modern internet and develop its accessibility standards. he has often put his neck on the line for disabled staff who don't have as much clout as he does. given the financial troubles he talks about and the state of this market and how old he is, i personally have read between the lines of what he's saying in a particular way.

fuck, man. i'm sad. i'm sad for all my friends who are creaking under the strain and watching others leave but who can't do that. i'm sad that many of them are left in teams which are half-empty or divisions where significant senior leadership are just gone, with no time to document what they had in progress.

i'm sad for Josepha Haden Chomphosy, the former executive director of the WordPress Foundation, who was dealing with a personal emergency and ended up having to miss WordCamp US (where Matt started publicly starting shit with WPE). she came back from that to a gigantic fire in the community she's invested a decade of careful, Matt-negotiating, stewardship to, and decided to take the severance offer. she deserved better.

[minmin-vs-physics]

Hey! I’m gonna be a physics major next year, and I was wondering if the Mac and iPad combo have worked well for you, or if there’s something else you recommend tech wise?

short answer: yes.

but, im gonna use this has an opportunity to yap about my current study set up. this goes without saying, but what worked for me may not work for you, and my set up evolved over the years as i found what was best for me.

i use an iPad for lecture notes and homework. i think its the most organized you can get them to be without straight up LaTeXing the shit out of them (and i know people who do exactly that, more power to them)

i just write faster than i type, and an ipad allows me to copy paste equations and add photos and stuff which is helpful for diagrams. i use goodnotes 5, and i will sing its praises till the end of time.

i think it pays to develop a clear style for your homework and lecture notes, bc your work will be easier to navigate. here's an example of my lecture notes and my homework.

HOWEVER, you will mostly be having paper exams as a physics student so i recommend you don't get too reliant on your iPad. i tend to do all my studying in notebooks, or loose sheets that i can refer to. practice problems are always on paper.

i started using legal pads for this from the end of junior year bc they're so convenient! im also incentivized by the stock our dept keeps in the mail room.

i have to do a lot of calculations for research and i prefer to do them on paper or a blackboard if it's something im reasoning out. idk it's so much easier to be stupid on paper than on goodnotes. ofc my research log is kept digitally, but i keep a binder with all my old calculations (both correct, and incorrect) along with my main reference papers.

LaTeX is a good skill to have which i didn't realise until too late. if you have to write any paper that's remotely scientific, LaTeX is the way to go. none of that google docs bs.

i use both vscode and Overleaf for editing. i mainly just LaTeX my finalized research calculations into one big doc. it's much easier to show my advisor. also it looks cool.

i got a monitor when my laptop screen broke sophomore spring (something inside me broke as well that semester it was so fun). and if you have the option, i would totally recommend getting one. it's useful having a second/bigger screen.

i use mine for a bunch of things: coding, reading textbooks, genshin impact, Netflix, grading.

on the topic of textbooks, i use digital bc im cheap. but i do buy secondhand physical copies that i rarely reference, but keep around bc it doesn't hurt to start your hypothetical professor office bookshelf early. i only buy the ones i actually respect, like Peskin's Intro to QFT. but the digital copies are usually much handier. i keep an extensive digital collection of books and papers i might never need.

don't be like me keep your digital library more organized!

and yeah circling back to electronics! i use a Macbook Pro rn which has served me well. i guess things are different if you need to run solidworks or other specialized software, but you can always use the lab computers, so that was never a problem. i have an apple ecosystem bc im a slut for capitalism.. i mean i was already halfway there and now im just really used to it, so i like all my devices being friends with each other. my tip is always get more RAM than you thought you needed, and double the storage. but maybe that's bc im mean to my laptop and love hoarding files.

i also keep all my previous notes and printouts so may be i have an academic hoarding problem in general.

in the end, a mix of old school and new age technology bs works best for me!

So after reading all the reviews on yelp yesterday I have come to the...upsetting realization that despite my neurologist essentially telling me that if I want help with my "migraines" i.e. pressure headaches I would need to see a different doctor, and the clinic staff telling me if I want a second opinion I will also need to see a different doctor, it looks like me going off and finding my own neurosurgeon might be considered "deviating from my care plan" and thus when they find out I did that they very well may discharge me as a patient.

Now tbh I do not want to keep being a patient there, just the thought of going back there makes me feel very intense anxiety, and my neurosurgeon did refer me to a new neurologist, but that new neurologist can't see me until February and I absolutely CANNOT go off of my diamox, so like....if my current clinic kicks me out I won't have my prescription for five months and that's a huge problem.

There is the possibility that my neurologist won't know that I went somewhere else for a neurosurgeon and will just give me a refill and tell me to fuck off for six months again, but I know the neurosurgeon's clinic pulled my files from my neurologist so like...they probably should know? Which then it's like, okay do you not care as you haven't called to discharge me...or do they still not really know? The latter is def possible because they have a long history of just never reading any of the notes any of my other doctors send them and ignoring my previous medical records, but even if they don't know my neurologist might be like "okay we're finally moving on to surgical options" and which point I will essentially tell them that I already have one.

So rn I have the choice between just not talking to anyone and praying this goes over in a way that means I get my prescription refilled , or I could do what I'm probably going to do which is call the nurse/medical assistant for my neurosurgeon and level with her about this and ask if they can take over my prescription until Feb and pray they say yes.

Which, I mean they might, but the thing that worries me about this is what if THIS clinic gets mad at me for having a different neurologist? And like that probably won't happen I told them upfront about that and the neurosurgeon did write me a referral to someone else, but like yikes still scared. Plus I'm also weirdly worried if I call and explain that part of the reason I don't want to go back to my current neurologist is because of the way she's treated me they might like, label me a problem patient or something which I don't know that just sounds bad.

But they also might say no which means I have to go to my current neurologist and hope she doesn't refuse my refill/discharge me bcs then I'll really be up shit creek...

I think I'm just gonna call my current neurosurgeon's office and level with them even though it's scary, because in my experience being honest with people tends to be the best way to actually get things done and I really really really do NOT want to go back to my neurologist's office, my body is giving me the same kind of anxiety about that as it does about the thought of ever having to see my father again which is NOT GOOD, but if it turns out I have to I just....dfkljdlkfj I don't know I'm so nervous I'm just going to go force myself to make the phone call.

on maria hill and other mcu characters

to begin : i have long written maria's background to fit with the marvel cinematic universe which includes her involvement with many other mcu characters. these are all built over the course i've written her @ wcrldliar and my previous multimuses.

please note that,  while i make these references, that does not mean i am not open to different interpretations should you, writing any of the other characters,   disagree with the content.  these headcanons are strictly applicable to my own portrayal of maria and are open to be diverged / written in alternative settings should new or different information appear.

to begin,

maria was recruited into SHIELD by phil coulson. he was the one who sorted out her recruitment process, and was apart of the evaluation team to approve her entry.

maria's supervising officer was melinda may. she was under may for about a year, and may was the one who oversaw maria's speedy climb from clearance level 3 to clearance level 5 within six months.

maria's first friend in SHIELD was clint barton. some may argue it might be phil, but in truth, maria never quite got over that phil had access to her whole file : thus knowing reports of her displacement to foster homes and the cause behind that. with clint, though he was still above her in terms of clearance level, maria felt more at an equal. she ended up genuinely cherishing his presence and perspective, and by the time their level clearance matched, she did fondly thought of him as friend.

maria wasn't accepting of natasha romanoff's recruitment into SHIELD, deeming her a terrorist. this caused a huge chasm between her and clint, where they don't speak with each other for a year. ( this was when clint, natasha, and coulson grew closer as a team with coulson as their handler instead. )

eventually, she befriended clint again and even went on a mission with romanoff, who ended up saving her life. this is when their friendship—as close as one could get in SHIELD—grew.

the avengers,

while maria was first wary of steve rogers ( bc she just wasn't into the whole avengers initiative ), she did end up fostering a lot of respect for rogers' work ethic and strong morale. she did also foster a crush, but i also think that's partly because she mistook admiration for that feeling. regardless, i do think she thinks highly of rogers more than she lets on because when steve commanded that SHIELD must go, nick initially didn't want to, but maria was the first to agree with him — despite the fact SHIELD was her whole life.

maria and fury did not have a father-daughter relationship. at best, maria can respect fury for his command of authority and his ability to think outside the box when her style has always been more militant and close to the books. but maria has always been posed as fury's anti-thesis. they have a good working relationship and maria trusts his judgement ( most of the time ) , yes, but that's about it. they do not share any familial value.

maria did not die. my last information of the mcu would be during the avengers: endgame, and i follow tvmcu up to loki season 2. i am very much open to interacting beyond that, but i may need time to build or research the events. timeline of where maria's activity throughout mcu timeline will be posted separately. at current, assume she's wondering around, and mending to her own private military and/or espionage unit under the disguise, of course, that she's retired.

additionally, she loves natasha, just as much as she loves clint. will i elaborate ? no ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what i can say: losing natasha hurts a lot. after the endgame though, unless plotted otherwise, maria is mainly on her own.

I talked about it today in therapy on why i enjoy fixing other peoples issues much more than having to constantly address my own - other people have much easier issues to deal with, or issues im dealing with concurrently with more daunting and complex problems

I have the following going on, and they all have similar levels of attention:

1. School (full time college, billing and coding exams, real estate course work, AND edX courses)

2. Lawsuits against me (two)

3. Legal issues where I'm owed money (4-5)

4. Health issues for myself (me/cfs, pots, pcos, schizoaffective disorder, ptsd, myofacial pain syndrome, mcas, adhd, dpdr, brain fog, these mystery migraines and nosebleeds)

5. My kids health issues (autism, 98% percentile, gbs, seasonal allergies, immunocompromised, genetic testing bc shes albino)

6. My car, and fixing then selling it. And my new car, paying it off

7. My previous debt

8. My previous marriage and filing for divorce

9. My social anxiety and behavioral issues

10. My grief and trauma

11. My grandma who probably is going to die in 2025

12. My family in general

13. Failing to catch up with my peers socially

14. Needing more money always!!

Like even getting my daughter on ssi took years worth of tangibly unrelated prerequisites. What do you mean i had to get her in daycare, then a referral to IE, then a social worker the IE, who then referred me to RTW, who then took a 10 months to get her a diagnosis, then do a 6 month long study, then apply for SSI dec 1023, then get approved in September 2024, then wait until jan 2025 to receive a portion of the lumpsum?? Like how is that an easy process?

Its so much easier to fix someone whos issues can be resolved by the regular channels. Its so much more rewarding to see someone apply for something, or do something difficult and then is immediately rewarded. What took me 5 appointment visits to eventually get tanf for a month, from april til sept, vs a prev friend who was waiting for a few months on an EBT card, waited 15 minutes at the office, nd got it the same day. All i had to do was drive her there. Ofc i dont talk to her anymore bc that same event for semi related reasons

But its just sooo much easier to fix it for other people. As a break, really. Im still workin on my shit but i think of it in the same way people do brain teasers for fun vs trigonometry for work.

And the worst part honestly is like, dealijg with my own personal resentment and envy bc if my body worked, it wouldnt even matter if im cognitively or mentally disabled. Im smart enough to circumvent that. Its just if my body didnt have the same innate desire to self destruct like a horse i could literally be making 200k by now. Id be so rich. I couldve been a doctor with a coke habit. I couldve ruled rhe world.

So. Putting this mf on blast outside of tags bc Red Flags Galore.

In our interview to schedule a dental extraction, he openly admitted to losing my panoptic xray, the most important xray, when all six files were sent to him at once. He also kept trying to push me to get More xrays, even after the DA next to me said "we can send them again". He continued with the "oh well I'll put this down anyway just in case-" and I had to cut him off with the "No You Will Not", bc we sent those, and you should keep and use the ones we sent, stop poaching me for more imaging money.

He then Proved he went digging into my personal files without a release, by confirming on camera my Anxiety and Depression diagnoses. I deflected and asked why that was relevant, and I straight up gave him the "are you fkn insane" look, bc I know damn well my dental office doesn't have access to my MH, any MH records that exist in the ether are more than 10y old and inaccurate at best, and this guy would have had to Dig Deep to find it. Yikes.

He also was blissfully unaware of the existence of my dental facility, asked me Where I Was, and when I told him the name of the facility he's like "whats that?" So I went full sarcasm and told him it was a circus. He did not like this.

Following the video call, I received a text from an automatic service Declaring I had an appointment set for 9am, 48h from my previous consultation appt. In call, he asked me "why not just come up in person?" I openly said that any scheduling needs to be with some time to account for travel expenses, which he fully ignored.

Trying to interact with this abysmal autotext service, I found out there was No option for negotiation, just a Y/N that either confirmed the appt or canceled it entirely. The help options led to dead sites and phone lines that don't work. The text service was a pay per text nightmare.

This part is conjecture, but this man wanted to Confirm all of my vulnerabilities, before triggering them (purposefully), getting me into a vulnerable position In Office ASAP, doesn't have a working contact number, and start to finish, played complete incompetence like I wasn't going to see that shit and fucking run.

So I called my dentists office the next day, and had them schedule me for the specialist I was originally referred to by my DMD, and thankfully the office was amicable and put that in motion for me. I did not have to do any extra work, and my office was actually really understanding about it when I voiced my concerns.

Flash forward to today, where he CALLED ME FROM A BLOCKED NUMBER to ask if I still wanted to come in. I didn't confirm my name, but I did specify that I'd gone with another specialist for my treatment. I did not let him sadboi me into anything, bc he started in with "oh I lost more of this, and I'm not sure how this works uwu can I still get an appt?" Bitch no you can't still have an appointment, and if you spoke to my dentists office in any real capacity, instead of calling me directly on my private number, you would have figured that out.

I looked this mf up, and Dr. Levi Miller is actually a failed private practitioner from Washington state with a slew of one star reviews online. Coupling that with the straight up Predatory Stalker vibes, if he contacts me again, I may just get a restraining order, bc FUCKING YIKES.

UR Medicine made a Huge Mistake hiring this one.

Psychosis and Schizo Spec Flag Time!

My dear friends of the community! For a community in which so many of us have been called a freak at some point in life, we've had a distinct lack of a coherent freak flag to fly!

Well, no more. There's a new flag in town, and she's a beauty!

The flag is preceded by a number of other flags. @psychotic-pisces collected a number of them, and proposed yet more, here, and there have been other versions and attempts through the years. There can be many flags, and no flag is more right than another, but we did feel that our community might be in need of a simple yet recognisable flag, that would still be rich with symbolism. This is our proposal!

I shall refrain from waxing poetic about the elements of the flag, but the references are as follows:

The symbol used in this flag was proposed by @actuallyschizophrenic here, and has seen fair use in the psychotic and schizo spec communities around these parts.

The colour stripes in the background match the current flag most commonly used for disability pride.

The background is purple, because 70% of all previous proposed flags were purple, suggesting a cultural connection to the colour in our community.

The symbol sits upon a waxing silver-lavender moon, referencing not only tales of lunacy, but also the dichotomous nature of our illnesses, negative/positive symptoms and more.

Finally, the moon acts as a prism on the stripes, creating a disjointed feeling, that we associate with psychosis and disorganization, among other things.

The flag doesn't have a name, I think anyone in the community can call it what feels right. Schizotypy flag, psychosis flag, lunacy flag - you name it! I call it the lunacy flag, but I have provenly bad taste, so call it what feels right!

This flag was a collaborative effort in a community discord for schizo spec folk and psychotic people. There's no way I could have arrived at this design on my lonesome, and I'm forever grateful to our loving, creative, smart and awesome communities!!

OKAY BIG DISCLAIMER I AM NOT!! TECH SAVVY! Please take what i say with a grain of salt Im just out here looking at forums and hoping for the best 🙏🙏🙏

Honestly, it's pretty hard. Generally I have an external memory where i store backups of my old stuff but for the most part i try to keep all my files on my laptop, so i keep the hefty files and everything in my :D/ section since its beefier, but ofc I need certain things on the SSD like games and stuff so they can run properly.

I pretty much just learned everything today, i went into the file explorer for hours hitting 'properties' on all the folders to see which ones were taking up space and which ones weren't, ended up deleting and moving around a bunch of stuff (i had a reference folder on my desktop that i thought wasnt too big and it was 9GB of images.......... woof)

While poking around on threads I also discovered this other app that creates an image of whatever drive you need it to make, and displays every file as a square of proportional size, so you can actually figure out what the fuck is taking up all of ur space https://windirstat.net/

OH AND ALSO, if you right click on the drive youre trying to clear, and hit properties, itll bring up a special properties window with a little circle diagram that tells you how much is being used, and right next to it is a 'disk clean up' button that helped me get rid of a bunch of phantom space. apparently, windows saves previous versions and certain files that just take up huge gigs of space.

another thing that was taking up space for me was the paging file, a necessary system file ofc, but that for some reason was taking up a whopping 18 fucking gigabites. I got that one fixed using this explanation, but also take this with a grain of salt bc i am not a computer expert! idk how reducing this file could impact ur machine (i just did it cause the recommended was way smaller than what id allocated. like... thats a little ridiculous i think.)

Oh and last but not least. Spotify was also taking up like 10 gigabytes on my machine inexplicably so I poked around some more threads and changed where the data was stored so that it was no longer on my ssd. So technically i didnt free space with that i just moved it somewhere else. but it works!

Thats all I can think of rn, I also just deleted a bunch of folders that had stayed behind after uninstalling apps by poking around hidden folders, I do NOT recommend deleting folders unless u know what it is you're deleting for sure

But yeah its all like... just a lot of random files everywhere. eventually it all really adds up.

anyone else think neo’s reports are weird about composers i think theyre weird about composers. lets make sense of joshuas status as composer and hazuki as comparison

this is gonna be a bit long. so anyway the og reports are p straightforward about what Composers (specifically, joshua) can and cannot do:

- Joshua can only pick up Hanekoma’s vibe, because Angel vibes are too high frequency for him to pick up

- Inter-planar contact (so, communication between the UG and the Higher Plane in this case) is difficult, which is brought up because

- The Composer, Joshua, only resides in the UG.

- But the Producer, who is an Angel, mainly resides in the Higher Plane, and only occasionally lingers in the UG.

The whole matter of jumping between worlds highlights the difference between their abilities even more:

- As Composer, Joshua is one of the beings who can jump between worlds, but isn’t meant to do so often. His vibe dipped too low, so Hanekoma had to come retrieve him, because as an Angel this sort of travel is simple for him.

the OG reports make it pretty clear Joshua isnt an Angel

*But. unfortunately its not that easy. because by clearing the final time trial joshua gives you an item called Angel Feather (天使のハネ in JP), of which the description says “Our buyer used divine means to acquire this mysterious feather that was once in the possession of Shibuya's Composer.“ (which some have interpreted as, “in the possession of” meaning “it was given to him” potentially by hanekoma, who actually IS an Angel)

and if things are vague, we turn to the JP to clear us up! but its. still vague there bc it says “バイヤーが特別な力で入手した渋谷���リアのコンポーザーが持っていた謎の羽根“ (The mysterious feather that was held/carried by the Composer of the Shibuya area that the buyer obtained with a special power)

so. we are none the wiser about whose feather this is. i imagine its up to interpretation whether its joshuas feather or hanekomas, who then gave it to joshua. but given how clearly the reports differentiate between the Composer and Angels in regards to their abilities, suffice to say theres two interpretations that are most likely

- Composers arent Angels, their power disparity is just too much

- Composers are Angels, but theyre so much weaker compared to the Angels who reside in the Higher Plane that they’re never referred to as Angels, just as Composers

which takes us to neo, and hazukis little lightshow

i think its notable that the reports dont comment on kubos so-called “exorcism”, and only on haz erasing his noise.

haz himself refers to his little stunt as “exorcising” kubo, while in JP he actually says haiki 廃棄, get rid of, revoke, invalidate.

i think its important that he clarified “i didnt erase him, i exorcised him”. because with kubo, the executor, being an Angel from the Higher Plane, a Composer shouldnt be able to erase someone of higher ranking than them. i think as the person who called upon kubo in the first place, haz could specifically revoke his services and send him back to the Higher Plane.

which means kubo wasnt erased, he was just sent back. hes still kickin

we could leave things right here as they are. Canonically, Composers are so far beneath Angels to a point where even if they were Angels themselves, they are so much weaker than them that they could hardly be referred to as such

this is where the facts end. but im gonna keep going and have fun speculating about things and include some i dont have physical proof of (yet)

its notable that in JP, hazuki says that kubo tried to purify shibuya probably because he wanted to be praised by Hazuki. which is weird if kubos supposed to be higher ranking than haz. (in EN, haz just says hes always been an overachiever) but lets put a pin in that for later 📌

which takes us to the matter of Shinjuku’s Producer. or their lack thereof

throughout all of neo’s reports, there is not a single mention of Shinjuku having a Producer. before neo, we kind of assumed every UG’s setup follows largely the same structure. a Composer, a Conductor, a Producer, and then some Reapers. but Shinjuku does not seem to have a Producer. and i think its because it doesnt need one.

its important to remember Who is writing these reports and Who theyre for. the reports are written by shibuyas Producer, and theyre written for the Higher Plane. and shibuyas Composer cant pick up the vibes of any Angel except hanekoma, so he cant be the one writing the reports for beings he cant even pick up the vibes from, especially since he only resides in the UG.

and yet, hanekoma comments that Hazuki should have filed a report, and that haz is disinterested in the lower planes.

in English its a little vague about who hes talking about, but the JP specifies Shinjukus Composer as the subject of this sentence.

throughout both reports, the UG and RG are considered part of the lower planes. its strange for a Composer to have no interest in the very planes they govern, plus for a Composer to file a report to the Higher Plane when its been established that Joshua, as a Composer, cant even perceive anyone from there.

so i think Hazuki may actually be a proper Angel from the Higher Plane, who was potentially demoted to become Shinjukus Composer.

though you can very much interpret haz “exorcising” kubo as simply “sending him back whence he came”, its of course pretty anticlimactic to see this massive laser beam essentially disintegrate kubo on a molecular level, only for it to have been a quick ride back to the higher plane with kubo being perfectly in tact after. if haz were actually much more powerful than an ordinary Composer, itd make sense why he would have been able to erase an Angel like kubo so. thoroughly.

this would also explain why kubo may have wanted to be praised by hazuki in the JP dialogue. with hazuki potentially being an outlier for Composers and being far Higher ranking than kubo, our executor may have wanted to sucker up a bit. maybe get promoted and away from his “basically a janitor” job if haz puts in a good word for him upstairs

theres also hazukis entire demeanor, and how Bad he is at acting like a normal person

we know of four paths that Players can take

they can choose erasure

they can choose resurrection to return to the RG

they can become Reapers

they can become Angels

and Reapers can eventually become Angels, though its yet unclear if the only way for that to happen is

for them to become Composer (potentially the Lowest Angel-rank there is) and thats it.

or if Composers can ascend and become Actual Angels and eventually reside in the Higher Plane, though how a successor for the seat of Composer is chosen in that scenario is yet entirely unknown since Usually the seat only becomes vacant when the previous Composer is defeated

or if they, as a Reaper, need to Ask the Composer who then asks the Producer to send a guy for evaluation or something

or if the Higher Plane has like, a talent scout guy somewhere.

potentially more than one may apply but at least the last point is the most likely, because

Conductors are invited to the Higher Plane (probably to become Angels) upon purification

(interesting to note that Composers are not mentioned as being invited, which would point to “theyre Angels, but like, weak-ass Angels”)

anyway, the point is that so far weve been told that Angels were Players or Reapers at one point. we know Joshua was a Player for sure, given the morsels of backstory we get from him and Hanekoma. but we dont know if All Angels came from the RG at one point, or if Angels that have always been Angels exist.

either way, the point is that for Hazuki to act so non-human like and to be disinterested in the UG and RG, he either must have been an Angel for a very long time, or he was never human to begin with.

this is relevant to how he interacts with joshua in the Secret Ending, though its a lot less obvious in English, in JP their dynamic is clear: Joshua is his senior, and as his junior, Hazuki looks to him as an example.

for one, thats hilarious. secondly, that recontextualizes like everything

‘course, you could keep the interpretation that theyre just Both weak-ass angels and hazuki just made kubo use a flashy dramatic elevator to the HP and nothing groundbreakingly powerful happened, but thats kinda anticlimactic

so. staying w the idea that hazuki may be a demoted Angel from the Higher Plane, then itd make sense for Joshua to have been Composer for longer than him, and for haz to act Like...That, since he couldve been not-human for a Very long time, or Never was one in the first place, but is still a younger Composer bc he got demoted like. 4 years back or something.

it also explains why Shinjuku may not need a Producer, and why Hazuki is the one writing his reports. its because hes still an Angel from the Higher Plane, so he does not need an intermediary to contact other Angels.

so to summarize what im tryna say here

Hazuki may have initially been a regular Angel from the Higher Plane, before he eventually got demoted to become Shinjukus Composer, despite how disinterested he is in the UG and RG. (he is considered to be “infamously unsympathetic”, a trait which is reinforced in the JP version to be something he is known for amongst the Higher Plane, which could potentially be the reason for his demotion)

Since hes Joshuas junior, that means he hasnt been Composer for as long as Joshua has, so Hazuki looks to him to know what youre even supposed to do/how to act/etcetera as Composer. With his Special circumstances, he does not need a Producer as an intermediary to interact with the Higher Plane, because hes already an Angel so he can do it himself.

whatever Angel Hierarchy there may be, Hazuki is at the very least a higher rank than an Executor, considering how kubo wanted to impress him, and how haz effortlessly got rid of him. with kubo being from the Higher Plane, joshua is decidedly lower ranking than kubo, and cant even pick up his vibe. which clearly positions haz into a unique circumstance as a Composer bc of this discrepancy in ranking and power. amen

theres other things that back this up but i unfortunately do not have a source for them, so This section, take with a grain of salt.

Supposedly, in neo’s data files:

Joshua is referred to as an Advanced Angel

Kubo as a Junior Angel, and

Hazuki as a Senior Angel

i only heard this secondhand and have no way of corroborating this myself, but if this is true then that lines up with the super long super sexy little essay i just wrote up there

this “ranking” solidifes Kubos position as Hazukis underling. which, if he were an ordinary Composer, wouldnt even be possible.

Joshua is notably a different rank from Haz, though its difficult to figure out if “Advanced” is supposed to be Lower than junior, or Higher than senior. thats up to interpretation until its possibly ever acknowledged,

but my interpretation is that an Advanced Angel is lower than a Junior Angel. i think “advanced” in this case is meant to refer to the traditional evolution of players to reapers to the composer, advancing from one status to the next.

so in the files, theyre designated ranks are as follows

Joshua: 男、天使上級 ※前作  (Male, Senior/Advanced Grade Angel ※from the Previous work)

Hazuki: 男、天使上級 (Male, Senior/Advanced Grade Angel)

Kubo:   男、天使下級 (Male, Junior/Lower Grade Angel)

so haz and joshua are the same rank bc theyre both Composers! since thats an internal data text kinda thing it might not have any bearing on like, potential Technical exceptions since they Are both the same “job”, but mightve gotten it under different circumstances.

as for kubo potentially being lower ranking than even a Composer, i think unless we find out what a Producers ranking is, we cant say much abt whether an Executors lower or higher. i kinda mean it in the sense of,  Producers are a Composers subordinate bc they follow their orders and have to create the things theyre tasked to make by the Composer (pins, etc), but may still be “higher” in ranking because they reside in the Higher Plane/jump between parallel worlds, while a Composer cannot. an Executor may be in a similar position where theyre a Composers underling, tasked by Composers to purify things, but may actually be “higher” in ranking because they reside in the higher plane, etc!

i think regardless of whether kubo turns out to be lower ranking than joshua or not, hazuki could still be Even More Higher in a way where he actually has like, sway over whether he could get a promotion! if that was his intent. he could also just be a huge suck up. a real kiss ass. teachers pet for angels

theres also the ntwewy Official Guidebook, which has a small comment beneath hazuki that says

and i additionally remember an interview, though i dont have a source for this claim and i could very much be misremembering, but i recall seeing the reason for hazuki not being the final boss is because they did not think players could suspend their disbelief far enough to accept that the twisters would be able to defeat a being from the Higher Plane.

which is perfectly reasonable, but

Composers are meant to be able to be defeated by Players or Reapers. if hazuki really was so powerful that itd be impossible for them to defeat him, then hed be far too strong to be an ordinary Composer, since thats. how you take over in the first place. thats kinda the whole plot of og twewy.

anyway that concludes my case

A Tutorial For Making Custom Vallaslin For DA:I

Since i had to learn how to do this from several different posts that were all several years old when I made my Inquisitor's vallaslin, i’m going to put everything that you need to know here. With pictures! But limited pictures bc tumblr. You don’t need to have any previous experience with photo-editing software, I will go over it all here. Thank you to all of the old posts that i learned all of this from. Couldn’t do this without you. If you use this tutorial, i would LOVE to see what you make with it! Below the cut bc it is long. Enjoyyyyy

What you’ll need: DAI Mod Maker (i use v1.1.0.17 because other versions can be finicky. Scroll down a bit on that link to find it.) GIMP (you can also use Photoshop, but i only know how to do this in GIMP. It should still be similar steps if you want to use Photoshop.)

First, we need to export the tattoo texture for the vallaslin. Open up DAI Mod Maker and go to Data > da3 > actors > baseheads > textures > tattoos.

The ones listed as “[TextureAsset]” starting with “tattoo_elf” are the ones we are looking for.

In Inquisition, you can only override what is already in the game; no standalones. Meaning you’ll have to change out one of the vallaslins already in-game for your own. You can pick any of these three to override. To see which vallaslins are in the texture, double click the texture asset and click Preview. In the texture preview, you’ll see red, green, blue, and white boxes in the top left corresponding to the RBG and Alpha channels. Each of these channels has a different vallaslin on it. Toggling them all off and selecting them one at a time will show you which ones.

Edit: It is possible to edit any of the channels, however I only know how to override the Alpha channel, so that's what I'll be showing. So in the preview, look in the Alpha channels to find the one you want to override.

Once you decide on the texture you want to override, you can close the texture preview. In the asset preview, click Import/Export > Export Asset. Save it as a .dds file.

After it’s exported, you can close DAI Mod Maker for now. Next, we move on to GIMP. When opening the .dds in GIMP, make sure to uncheck the box for “Load mipmaps”. The other setting, "Automatically decode..." should stay checked. (The newest versions of GIMP support .dds files without needing a plugin.)

Once you have it open in GIMP, the first thing i suggest you do is get a placement reference to draw your vallaslin on. To do this, we’re going to take one of the vanilla vallaslins and save it on it’s own image. That way you can design your vallaslin easily and not have to worry about stretching and scaling to fit later on.

On the right side of the window, open the channels tab.

For the placement reference, i’m going to use the full-face Sylaise vallaslin because you can clearly see where the eyes, forehead, cheeks, and chin are. You might want to use a vallaslin that you also see the neck on if you plan on designing vallaslin onto the neck. In the Channels tab, click on the eye symbols to the left to toggle visibility to find which channel the vallaslin you want to use as a reference is on. In this case, it is on the red channel.

Next we're going to go to the top left and select Colors > Components > Decompose.

In the pop up, the Color model should be RGB, "Decompose to layers" should be checked, and "Foreground as registration color" should be unchecked.

This will separate all of the color channels into layers. So, we need to go into the Layers tab and delete the other color layers we don’t need. In this case, that’s blue and green. When you only have the layer that you need, we’re going to go to Colors > Invert to make it easier to draw on. Then you can export it.

You should now have something that looks like this:

So, now you get to design your vallaslin! You can use whichever program you prefer (i originally used GIMP, but also used Krita for one). One tip i have that sounds obvious but i didn't do the first time is use mirroring while you’re designing it. You can find out how to do that in whatever program you want with a quick google. Just put the placement reference we made in a layer behind your drawing layer and go crazy.

This is what my final version looked like for my Inquisitor. Keep in mind that the way that it actually looks on your character will be determined by the shape of their face, so you may have to do a few tries to get it exactly how you want.

Now to put it in the game!

Open the original exported texture .dds back into GIMP and go into the Channels tab. We're changing the Alpha channel, so make sure that only the Alpha channel is selected. Then, go back over the Layers and erase the vallaslin you see there.

Next, open your vallaslin image in GIMP. Go to the Channel tab again and make sure only Alpha is selected. Hit Ctrl + A, then Ctrl + C to copy. Then, go back to the original texture. Alpha should still be the only selection in the Channels tab. Hit Ctrl + V to paste your vallaslin.

Go back into the Layers tab, right click the floating layer, and select Anchor Layer. You should see the other channels through your design like this:

Next, go to File > Export as, and export with these settings:

Time to make it into a mod! Open DAI Mod Maker and go to Data > da3 > actors > baseheads > textures > tattoos again. Open the texture that you picked before. In the pop up, go to Import/Export and select Import Asset. Find the .dds you made in GIMP and import it. It should give you a pop up saying it was successful!

Then, in the Mod Maker window, go to File > Save as and save your mod however you want.

Click Create and save it where you want, and there you have it! Then, all you have to do is merge it with your DAI Mod Manager and you should have it waiting for you in-game!

Now go crazy and draw on your ocs' faces all you want.

May I inquire about how one obtains the Sims, its add-ons and increased customizations at a low low price? Context: I am broke

Not to worry anon, I'm a complete Sims novice and I'm broke too so I know what you mean. Thanks to @cumslutcrusaders I was able to get it, so if you have any questions please do ask them but here is my step by step guide from what I did with the links provided by her. I'll break it down into 2 sections.

Requirements:

Definitely make sure your computer is compatible with Sims but more importantly, you need to have LOADS of space like at least 50 GB or more (just in case!). My previous computer has barely any space so I knew I could count on this new one.

VPN connection (I heard from Lei it's better to have a paid VPN but they referred me to softether VPN gate which is free and worked great for me!). I think it should be pretty simple to operate this because of the "add adapter" and "add connection" buttons. It's advised that you use a VPN connection close to your country and with less ping.

Torrenting software (I used to use uTorrent but again Lei referred me to vuze which worked just fine!)

Obtain the Sims:

Go to this website (called games4theworld.site) which has a whole section dedicated to the sims when you scroll. Scroll to this bit:

get the installation guide first and read through it

I'm guessing you have a 64-bit computer as well but check for other machines just in case! Before downloading / torrenting, check through the installation guide since there's specifics about which folder or files to put where in your computer so the game works best! (it also explains how to get mods

get the Sims 4 - Basegame [FIXED] first and you can play it without the expansion packs (if you want!) but this is a super old version of the game (like 2014)

then the Sims 4 - Global Patch (the installation guide explains where to put the files from these two downloads in your computer)

Here is where you decide whether you want the DLC or not, it is possible to get it from the Sims 4 - DLC link like in the screenshot I didn't get it bc its like 26GB and takes AGES to download

then this Sims 4 updater which brings the came to the current state but also you can get the DLC from the updeter too however it takes more time than torrenting so it's completely up to you!! I only get the latest "fashion street" and "Incheon arrivals" stuff from the updater because I didn't want to download the rest yet

finally, if you want the NSFW animation stuff search up "wickedwhims" and the first website should be it! check their website for the download link (it's the same as adding mods and other custom content which is basically drag and drop ".package" files into Mods folder or tray item files into "Tray" folder)

Remember to turn have "custom content" and "script mods" enabled once you're in game to be able to experience
