Some Good Place thoughts

1. Doug Forcett wouldn’t have gotten into the Good Place anyway. The only way to earn points is to do something good with the intention of doing something good. Doug only had one intention with his actions: get into the Good Place. Since he was only doing it for the points it would get him instead of the good it would do, he never had a chance. You can’t earn points if the only reason you’re doing good is self-preservation.

2. The Soul Squad still would’ve gotten into the Good Place, regardless of the fact that they now know about the point system. After Michael tells them about the point system, they decide to help other people get into the Good Place. Since they no longer believe that they can get in, they are doing this with purely good intentions.

Eleanor, Chidi, Jason and Tahani are sitting together and having a picnic. They’re calm, relaxed, and they deserve it bc they made it to the Actual Good Place right?? And Tahani’s sister hasn’t quite made it yet, and Chidi’s waiting to see his grandma but they’re sitting together, and they’ve fixed The Good Place and Tahani’s tryin to put a flower crown on Jason again.

Suddenly, Michael, Janet and Shaun show up. Shaun is looking incredibly abashed and Michael has that worried wrinkle on his face that he gets when he’s stressed out. Everyone looks at them.

‘I need your help’ says Shaun.

Eleanor raises her eyebrow a bit, but like, she’s in the Good Place, so whatever.

‘I was uh, doing a little experiment- studying humans in their natural habitat for, uh, study reasons. Absolutely no other motive. And also I was babysitting The Button that Will Reset all humanity. And I lost it.’

Tahani blinks. Michael picks it up

‘We need some help getting it back. you four are much more . . . people-orientated than we are, and it’s a very testy situation. It’s just a quick excursion to earth, pick it up and we’ll be on our way.’

‘So, we’re just looking for the remote?’ asks Chidi.

‘Not exactly’ says Shaun ‘I hid the remote in a little worthless plastic trophy that I figured would match my desk decor. And then it disappeared.’

‘Alright then!’ says Tahani brightly, ‘Let’s go and grab it. I mean, how hard could it be to get a cheap piece of plastic off someone?’

Rosa Diaz stands at the front of the meeting room, resplendent in her crown and cloak. Everyone watches her eagerly. ‘This year’s heist treasure will be this trophy I stole of off Kevin’s desk!’

Everyone cheers.
