Week two coming at you!

Day 8 – Sober – Rated M - Cas was gone and Dean found himself at the bottom of too many bottles. He knew that he couldn't get the love of his life back if he didn't have a clear head. He'd do whatever it took to get him back. Destiel Canon Divergence

Day 10 – Enchanted – Rated M – Dean buys an antique mirror at a flea market and gets more than he bargained for. Destiel AU

Day 11 – Drag – Rated M – Dean gets caught during a body dump. He is not a very good liar but Cas doesn't care. Two serial killers in the same area and Cas is just trying to protect his territory. Destiel AU Murder Boyfriends

Day 12 – Crossover – Rated T – Cas comes home one day and things are moved around. He checks his wards. They're all still in place. Over the next few days, things are moved, the TV randomly turns on, music plays out of nowhere, and the pie keeps getting removed from the fridge to the counter. Cas reinforces his warding. Then one day there is a man he doesn't know standing in the middle of his living room and he isn't quite corporal. Destiel AU

Day 4 Wicked – T – Cas practices darker magic and the gov't doesn't like it. They do more than necessary inspections on his facility. Dean is being punished and gets assigned to difficult cases. Destiel AU

Day 5 A Perfect Disaster – M – Stubborn Dean didn't evacuate when he was told to. Luckily Cas has a safe house nearby. Destiel AU

Day 6 Parody – T – Dean had moved away as soon as he could from his abusive father. It doesn't mean he doesn't still end up dealing with bigoted assholes. Destiel AU

Day 7 Fine Wine – M – Dean and Cas had gone to high school together and occasionally ran in the same circles. It'd been over 20 years since they'd seen each other. They reconnect at a work event. Destiel AU

15. really, what does she know?

"Congrats, you became the Transmigrated Villainess Turned Saintess," Athanase dryly said before chewing on his cake. They were sitting in the parlour of the Amethyst Palace, with an assortment of sweets on the table before them.

They were finally left unsupervised — thank heavens for that. He wasn't prepared to choke on his cake again if Autumn ever dropped bombs of information, and he especially didn't want to play a game of mental tennis.

Switching between topics while simultaneously keeping track of it all just gave him headaches.

"It's a very strange situation," Autumn sighed. "I transmigrated as a Villainess, ended up reuniting with my best friend, and became a Saintess all in a week. Y'know, I was kind of hoping for a Melissa Podebrat situation — Beware of the Villainess and all, where I could do as I pleased and live a nice life, maybe get a pretty werewolf boyfriend with beautiful blue hair. Oh! Maybe I could've been Leilin in Today the Villainess Has Fun Again, being able to do as I please because I'd be a Candmione with all the wealth imaginable!"

"Oh yeah?" he raised a brow. "I think Fiona in I Became the Wife of the Male Lead is also a good option if we get to choose. She's got OP magic, she's attractive, and she could arguably be one of the best found family stories if she didn't have PTSD getting in the way of her accepting that."

"Hmm, hmm," Autumn hummed in agreement, closing her eyes as she thought it over. "But y'know, I think I'd like that manhwa more if they had more scenes from when they were kids — teens? There was a five-year time skip, wasn't there? Gosh, I really wanted to see more wholesome Found Family stuff, and maybe have the romance develop faster."

"What, like how soon Artezia's marriage with Cedric was in The Villainess Lives Twice?"

"Exactly," she nodded. "Speaking of which..." she trailed off, frowning.

He wrinkled his nose in distaste.

Marriage.

It wasn't a topic that they could avoid forever, especially after everything that's happened.

Since his sister collapsed and was on her deathbed for practically two months, it's safe to assume that people might still be under the impression that Athanase would rise up to become the crown prince, if the nobles decided to play up on the rumours of the Crown Princess being a sickly child and all that, and that she might relapse, he was undoubtedly going to end up gaining a faction of his own.

Assuming that the misogynists haven't gathered together already.

And then there was the fact of status coming into play. Unlike Lucas, Athanasia's playmate, Verena is the daughter of a Count, and would be considered to be one of his marriage candidates by that fact alone. However, if she was adopted by her aunt, Madame and Marchioness Pompidou, her status would be on a more even playing field among his other marriage candidates. Some of the Dukes did have daughters, but they were all either too old and already engaged by now or were married, so the next best thing would be the daughters of the Marquesses.

And she was now the Saintess — which would make Verena unrivalled as a candidate. She would have the support of the commoners and several noble families by that title alone. The Milfords and Nightingales would both support her already because she was accepted by Claude himself, and although they're not Dukes and Duchesses, they do have some semblance of political power.

The issue is that Athanase doesn't want the throne, but he also doesn't want to be engaged to a complete stranger, either. He wasn't physically old enough to be taken seriously by the nobles, especially for writing a statement in order to get rid of his claim to the throne — he tried, but everyone told him that he would have a chance in the future when his sister decides to pass on the crown, so he'd have to wait until he was thirteen to be taken seriously, maybe.

Unlike Toska, where his father had decided to approve of the engagement without the slightest hesitation, Athanase doesn't have the luxury of his father's decision this time, from what he could tell. His father never mentioned anything about an engagement, and his relationship with Athanasia was... well, it wasn't terrible, but they haven't had a proper conversation. In their one on one discussions, his father may have been bored listening to him talk, but his father was actively listening to him.

With Toska's storyline drastically changing, it was rather difficult to pinpoint where he stood in his father's eyes. Would his father ever consider using him just to get the nobles to shut up about the future of Obelia's next generation?

"The nobles have been hinting for an engagement to be made, right?" he eventually decided to ask.

"They have. Mother complains to father that everyone ought to have a chance to find their one and only, instead of pushing children towards each other. She finds it rather revolting that one of the Dukes was willing to call off his daughter's marriage for a chance of having his daughter marry into the imperial family. His Majesty has threatened the nobles with their lives for daring to insinuate that either of his children must have an engagement, but that doesn't stop their idle conversations outside of the palace."

Yikes.

There's a lot going on, but he didn't want to spare much time to unpack all of that. So he's gonna ignore that.

Countess Durk. It was quite strange for a noble to be so passionate about true love, anyway, but then again, his father wasn't the type of man who cared about personalities and valued work ethic. Still, it would've been out of character for someone so adamantly against the arranged marriage, to actually agree to it in the end.

"So if your mother believes in true love, how exactly did Verena end up in an engagement with Prince Athanasios?" he frowned, absentmindedly doodling the scene he vaguely recalls that Autumn had drawn in their previous life.

It was a drawing of Athanasios and Verena, meeting for the first time in a garden, with Athanasia at their side.

"Oh, that," Autumn pursed her lips. It was clear that she was uncomfortable with the question. "Was it obvious that Verena was developing a crush on you before I showed up?"

He pauses, recalling all of Verena's shy glances and smiles, the way her cheeks were pink after staring at him for longer than what was appropriate. It was a little obvious, but he figured she would grow out of it, or at least, he was actively ignoring her infatuation.

No wonder Autumn looked so uncomfortable.

"I'll take your silence as a confirmation," Autumn dryly noted before continuing on. "It wasn't entirely decided until I wrote the rewrite, but it was an idea I've thought about it in passing for years since the original Toska drafts. Verena genuinely fell head over heels for the Prince when they were children — in fact, in the rewrite, she became the twin's childhood playmate. Anyway, it's just that due to the obvious mistreatment towards the twins from the nobles, she believed that her words and actions were fine, especially because the Emperor never seemed to say anything about it."

She wrinkled her nose in distaste, and Athanase could easily see where Autumn was coming from — it was one thing to like a concept, but another thing entirely to live with it.

Sucks to be her.

"Eventually, the engagement discussions began, and Verena lost her parents shortly after — several months after she turned eight, in fact. That happens a little less than a year from now, but more than half a year, during the delegation to Arlanta for their hunting competition. Regardless, Madame Pompidou adopted Verena into the Pompidou Family to ensure that Verena would receive a noble status to make her just as appealing as the other marriage candidates, especially since she voiced her desire to marry the Prince. Of course, the Emperor didn't really care about the engagements, so he just randomly picked a girl, and Verena happened to win the lottery."

"A delegation to Arlanta?" he blinked, looking up at her with interest in his eyes.

"Have you read the novel written by the same author as The Lovely Princess?" Autumn asked. "Arlanta is an empire where everything takes place in that book."

"The Tale of Three Tragic Brothers," he nods. "It was terrible. Fantastic writing, as usual, but shitty plot."

It was another web novel — nothing as popular as their first story, The Lovely Princess, but it was a recommended read.

Cabel Ernst was the protagonist and the middle brother of the three Ernst Brothers. His story followed the typical path of the Hero's Journey (which, it was important for it to be noted, but it was done terribly). After the tragedy of losing his parents, Cabel had practically picked on his adoptive younger sister along with his brothers, as they all never got along with her and couldn't accept her as an Ernst until later in life. He enrolled in a boarding school and trained to become a knight who would be one of the many drafted to fight in an approaching war.

According to the backstory, relations between Arlanta and Obelia had gone down the drain during one of the past hunting competitions. Countess Durk, who regularly accompanied the delegation from Obelia, had perished from a stray bullet from an Arlantan nobleman alongside her husband. Accidents were normal, and the delegation was distraught at the loss of the countess and her husband, but a nobleman had made a snide comment regarding the late Countess for taking part in a man's sport, or something misogynist along those lines. Naturally, the delegation had been angered, some dumb things happened, and the delegation returned to Obelia fuming in anger.

Now, Claude as an Emperor may have had such an uncaring demeanour, but he was still a feared and respected ruler, albeit a bit of a tyrant towards the nobles.

He saw Arlanta's nobles as being disrespectful to Obelia, and in turn, disrespecting him.

"Well fuck," he blinked, looking at Autumn. "Dude, you made Verena the daughter of the same Countess Durk who died in the delegation that caused an almost-war between Arlanta and Obelia?"

Autumn averted her eyes, smiling awkwardly, "Maybe."

Well, the closest thing to bloodshed was when Cabel became a knight and was sent with his fellow peers to handle the bandits. Apparently, it was because Obelia was finally deciding to send a delegation in hopes of restoring relations with Arlanta. The delegation had the kingdom's beloved princess, Jennette, and her fiancé Ijekiel. Cabel falls in love with her, and when she meets Prince Dice and Eugene Ernst, the eldest of the three Ernst Brothers, they also fall in love with her, too.

"You look like His Majesty," Autumn stated, poking the bridge of his nose. "In fact, you're scowling right now, Athanase."

"I'm remembering Jennette's introduction in that damn book," he wrinkled his nose, scowling as he promptly takes a bite of his cake. "It felt kind of half-assed, don't you think?"

"Well, it's the same writer for The Lovely Princess, y'know? In fact, in one of the side stories, we end up finding out that the oldest of the Ernst Bros was actually in love with their adoptive younger sister, enough that he delayed in setting her up with people. The only thing I hated about it was that she could've been mistaken as his actual dead sister so easily."

"While I do agree with you on that, you're kinda biased here."

"What? No way!"

"Autumn, you deadass wrote Eugene x Dice fanfiction and Jennette Bashing fics."

She appeared to be almost touched by that statement, "You read my Eudice fanfics?"

"Yeah, and you had an alarming amount of smut fics for having written them when you were only 19, apparently."

At that, she looked horrified, "What?! But I only posted my smut fics on Tumblr before the NSFW ban update! I even made a separate blog for NSFW content and only used it for like... a month!"

"Yeah, well, tough. While you were careful in keeping the 18+ content away from minors, your Tumblr friends didn't care and reblogged it anyway, so that's how I found out it existed. I was surprised that I actually liked your ABO AU."

"Ahh!" Autumn screamed in frustration as she buried her face into the palm of her hands. "Shut up, shut up, shut up!"

"There, there," he flatly stated. "If it makes you feel better, you wrote some pretty damn good smut. Eugene x Dice surprisingly worked, and I never expected to ship it, but now I can't unsee the ship, so you should be happy about gaining a fellow fan."

Without an ounce of shame, as Athanase had always expected of Autumn, she peeked up at him between her fingers.

"In that case," she coughed, regaining her composure as she eyes him, "Do let me know if you notice anything, if you ever get the chance to meet Prince Dice."

"We're only older than him by two years — almost three, in your case," he dryly commented.

"I hope you remember that I did write eudice fluff, too," Autumn squinted at him. "I never got the chance to write a Childhood Friends, Eudice AU! Have some sympathy for me, will you?"

"After all the bottom Dice fics you wrote? Hell nah. I firmly believe that they both had top energy, and honestly? This is the hill I'm gonna die on."

"That's cause you're a bottom."

"And I'm proud of it! Honestly, though, ignoring the fact that Cabel was pretty much a noble's nightmare of a kid, he would definitely be my type if we were just a bit closer in age."

"Your type, huh?" Autumn looked at him with an almost calculating gaze. "Say, did His Majesty ever speak to you about anything in particular within the last few days?"

That was a sudden change in topic, wasn't it?

"Nothing peculiar," he slowly said, "He did ask me you were a good playmate, and then a couple of days later, he made you the Saintess."

"One last thing," she says, her eyes darting over to her pocket watch. "Before our time's up. What kind of person could you imagine being with?"

"Smart, good-looking, could probably kick my ass, someone that I could easily hang out with. Why all the random questions?"

"Hmm, remember that for the next time we meet, then."

"What the heck, Autumn? What do you mean?"

Autumn innocently smiled at him.

Autumn knew this was going to happen.

So, Athanase was officially disowning Autumn as his best friend and was now looking for candidates.

Honestly, Athanase partially wishes he was joking. Him and his sister were both currently in the garden of the Garnet Palace, with their father personally holding them in his arms as he enters to a crowd of nobles — both children and their parents, bowing and curtsying in response.

Right now, he could easily feel the stare of the crowd, the pressure of it all.

The children were all in a similar age range to him and Athanasia. Claude had only invited a select group of nobles — he could tell, since he saw Marquess Milford and Countess Durk in attendance, and Duke Alpheus was nowhere to be seen.

It was probably the group of nobles that would irritate his father the least.

This was not a scene in Toska from what he remembers.

But judging from the angelic smile that Autumn was smiling at him with, it was undoubtedly an event in the rewrite. A fact that Autumn had to have known. And since she was interested in learning what his type was, he realized just exactly what this party was about.

He would be gaining his own group of friends, just as Athanasia would gain her own as well. And on top of that, they were potential marriage candidates. His father wasn't going to force anything — Athanase understood that much when his father mentioned the idea of finding a new friend if Verena wasn't suitable. It was obvious that his father was actively putting their opinions into consideration.

Maybe it was because he said that even though he likes having Verena as a friend, she wasn't interested in swordsmanship.

He could see Countess Nightingale standing beside a girl with short black hair tied in two braids. There was a boy with black hair, too, who had Countess Nightingale's green eyes. That had to be Irene and Odysseus Nightingale, respectively.

Standing near them was Marquess Milford, standing beside two children who were undoubtedly his own son and daughter. A boy with dark blonde hair, much like the Marquess, and golden eyes. A girl with sunset eyes much like the Marquess, but with long, pale blonde hair tied in twin tails. Ferdinand and Charlotte Milford.

Athanase couldn't recognize the other children, but he at least noticed Autumn standing beside her mother, Countess Durk.

'I fucking hate you,' he flatly thought to her. 'You're worse than my sister, I hope you know that.'

Autumn blinked, smiling innocently as if she had no clue what was going on.

'I don't know what you're talking about, Prince Athanase.'

It’s getting really frustrating going through AO3 and seeing 10,000 irrelevant walls of tags that take up my ENTIRE desktop screen. There really needs to be like an etiquette guide for tagging, so I tried to make one.

Why People Use Tags:

- To search for a genre, character, pairing, plot device

- To decide if it’s safe for them to read (Age Ratings | Content Warnings)

- To easily block or filter searches

- To get a general idea of what the story involves.

Fandom - Mature + Graphic Violence - Person A/B, Person C/D, Person E/F, Person G/H, Person I/J - Main Character 1, Main Character 2, Main Character 3, Main Character 4, Main Character 5, Main Character 6 - Side Pairing 1/ 2, Side Pairing 1/ 2, Side Pairing 1/ 2 - Pirate!AU, Pirates, Piracy - Hurt/Comfort, Hurt, Comfort, Angst, Poor A suffers so much, slow burn, like glacial slow, just kiss already, mentions of torture, kidnapping, pining character C, protective character A, mermaids, sirens, sea monsters, violence, blood, gore, i’m so terrible to these characters, the pirate au no one asked for, minor character death, I suck at summaries, D is really great with a blade, guns, swords, i’m terrible at tagging, pining character B, etc, etc, etc...

Look how hard that is to read and get information from!

- A reader cannot quickly read through that to get the information they need.

- It often spoils half of the plot/character development. (We don’t need to know if A is a protective person, you as the author should be showing that to us through the story.)

- It makes it extremely difficult for the community within fandom that relies on Text-To-Speech readers to listen to fanfiction.

- It makes it extremely difficult for the community within fandom with dyslexia (or other disabilities that effect reading) to read through the tags.

Tags you DO need:

Main Pairing | Side Pairing(s) (Only if they have plot relevance).

Main Characters | Side Characters (Only if they have speaking lines, or are plot relevant.)

Genre/World Setting - Things like: Romance, Horror, Adventure, etc. XYZ!AU, 123!AU, Werewolf!Character A, etc.

Content Warnings - Use AO3/FF provided age ratings, and content warnings (e.g. Graphic Violence, etc), and provide your own where needed (e.g. Kidnapping, Homophobia, etc)

NSFW warnings - Keep It Relevant. You only need the basic tags. Not the full of description of everything involved. That’s what the fic is for.

Tags you DON’T need:

Characters Who Make No Plot Difference - You literally do not need to tag any characters or ships who are in the background, who cameo, or who make 0 difference to the plot. (i.e. you could remove them and it wouldn’t affect the story).

Overly Detailed NSFW - Listing every single detail of each sexual act is unnecessary. > E.g.: If you say BDSM everyone who’s ever read fanfiction generally knows what that involves. Use the summary or authors note to specify intentions.

Multiple Variations Of The SAME TAG - So you tagged it #Fluff? You don’t then need to add ‘super fluffy’, ‘so much fluff’, ‘really soft’. It’s Fluff. It doesn’t need further explanation.

Using the tags as a summary - The summary box exists for that reason. If you struggle at writing summaries, take example from what other authors have done in their summaries, or blurbs on books!

Conversations in the tags - This is self explanatory. It clutters the tag list. Hard to read.

Keep tags relevant to the story! Keep It Simple, Stupid. (K.I.S.S)
