so maybe this is a really stupid question, but what exactly is homestuck? i've no idea and i have asked multiple people and no one has given me an answer yet, but i hope you do answer.

Alright, I'll try to give the most comprehensive answer I can.

Homestuck is a semi-interactive webcomic that started back in 2009, written by Andrew Hussie. Completed in 2016, the webcomic as a whole sits at 8,123 pages (800k words). The format of the webcomic includes not only illustrated panels on each page, but hours of fully animated videos, multiple playable flash-games, a TON of amazing music (possibly composed by some familiar faces!), and interactive mechanics used within the browser itself to deliver some of the more "meta" elements of its plot.

Now, to give the most brief summary, the story of Homestuck is about a group of kids (John Egbert, Rose Lalonde, Jade Harley, and Dave Strider) who become friends over the internet and decide to play a game called SBURB, a reality-altering video game that brings about the end of the world. If SBURB is beaten, it would allow the players to become the creator/gods of a new world.

Along the way, the kids will interact with a slew of other characters, including a species of aliens called trolls. There's time travel, extensive and convoluted game mechanics, meta-narratives, alternate timelines, and all sorts of stuff that will make your brain hurt. It's complex and insane and wonderful, mind-bending and incredibly genre-defying. There's so much I'd want to say but you just can't summarize the immensity of Homestuck in a post like this.

If you are at all interested in reading Homestuck, the best way to do it is to use the Unofficial Homestuck Collection. With the death of Flash, the original website is mostly broken. This collection is the BEST way to experience it.

#skulduggery pleasant #HELLO. original post for the first time in a gajillion years. but anyway #i was re-reading books 2 and 3 and i was like. i forgot how .immature he sounds #he says “like” every other word and his vocabulary isnt really extensive #similar to me in some ways. and im a teenager #but also like. it didnt feel ..forced #his dialogue in 2 & 3 felt super natural like yeah he was melodramatic but it felt comfortable like #he was speaking from his heart..#but as they go on he starts using these 10 dollar words in strange places and his cadence #changed from “egotistical criminal” to .Vampire #and it feels less like something he would actually say and more like an author trying to make him sound #uppity by forcing these fancy speeches into his mouth #do u know what i mean..#i keep thinking he would not fucking say that. as i work my way back thru the series #killer supreme i MISS you girl..#scapegrace #vaurien scapegrace

i finally switched to firefox (yippee!!) and i transfered all of my tabs and. well. i have 129 tabs open. which feels simultaneously like rookie numbers and Too Damn Many

I hope more qsmp creators get some sort of subtitles for their streams past the qlobal translater. Whether it's something like Baghera's or the extension that Forever uses- or a combo of things like Badboyhalo. Especially the english creators. I think only Bad has the translator extension?

#qsmp #murky mumbles #love Bad's #he has base subtitles which are viewable on vods though you can't translate them #they are still super useful #he has the translator/sub extension which translates everything he says but is only available live #but you can choose which language it's in with of english/french/spanish/portuguese as options #and ofc the qlobal translator for when he's on qsmp #Baghera's is also great. very accurate #part of the video itself so even if the twitch vod gets deleted the subs are still there #but you can't choose the language it translates into #plus requires manual changing from the streamer #but It just translates things so well i love it #also rip gabi has the translater extension but i've never had it work for me on her channel #it's always either not working at all #stuck on one sentence #or around 10 minutes behind #like literally 10 minutes behind #Cellbit's work just fine and Forever's are 50/50 but dont have 10 minute delay when they DO appear for me #so I think it's something on Gabi's end

Anon I also hope you know that my first thought after I saw this ask had kinda ‘Introducing our bass player to things he’s never seen before’ vibes I guess especially for the galvan friend, who in the world of Whatudottu (and all the influences I have) headcanons is the stereotypically socially isolated intelligent species between them and cerebrocrustaceans lmao-

Hehe, I’ll admit that while I have headcanons on the fly for galvans and cerebrocrustaceans to guess at how they’ll react interacting with a friend’s friend (ccs being more obvious and welcoming in the friend group, potentially galvans having jealousy issues or even just fascination someone can have more than one friend and ones with such differences), but I have no idea how tetramands and appoplexians would react lmao, at least not beyond your appoplexian friend being confounded by how nice your cerebrocrustacean friend is (potentially versus any bias they might’ve learnt) met with a mutual confusion when your cerebrocrustacean friend sees you and your appoplexian friend verbally and or physically roughhousing :P

#IM---#WHY IS HE GOING SIDE TO SIDE #BROTHER PLEASE WALK STRAIGHT #shouldve made this wwx or something #ok so i found an alternative route to get this shit in 10 minutes #whereas the other path took me a week and it still works less than this #so first take the vrm make a copy and turn the copy into a glb. just change the extension name. then import it to blender #then generate an fbx with or without textures nobody gives a shit just do it #get the animations on that and then import back the skeleton to blender #then on your static model you will want an animation track so literally go into pose mode pick a bone and then add a keyframe #then go ahead delete it. you just wanted a blank animation track #then rename the imported skellys and then push down the animations to make them actions #then add the actions to this model by going to the NLA and just. adding the actions.#thats how to get to this point. idk why hes swaying and how to fix that. im gonna go mess with that now #once this works i can fulfill my dream and i can start mocapping myself with a whip #ive been mocapped before ive never done it myself tho #ive always been a minor antagonist in every game ive been in #is there something about my face?#forgot to mention. this fixes the glb file geometry rendering export issue. now i can use glb again #which means i can put this shit on neocities #edit: I found the issue. #Mouse talks!#only four of us on today. 90 tasks from over the weekend. boss wanted reports at the usual time and would not grant an extension #so they were... drumroll... late #coworker L bless her heart opened a random email and started doing those instead of her assignments so she did three (3) tasks that #belonged to OTHER PEOPLE #I finished 9 tasks before lunch (daily average is 10) but that's not even half of what I'm assigned today so I don't think we're finishing #tldr. 😭😭

ive been trying to get my hands on one specific book for one of my uni assessments since all the other useful stuff has directly pointed to this one book but its not available online to the point where i can't even get the chapter titles however it is available in a different university's library so i have put through an interlibrary request but it can take up to 10 days to get it and i really would ideally like to have it tomorrow lol

#og #the physical copy can take 7-10 days but if i want a specific chapter i can get the electronic version within 2 #but since i cant get the chapter titles let alone know what each chapter is about then im a little stuck #maybe ill request a random chapter and just go with it lol #chapter title can just be the number and ill wing it #hate group assessments #i have a support plan that lets me get extensions when needed and i want to use it but since its a group assessment than normally i cant #T.T

It's always a little surreal for me when a parent commends me on being good or patient with their child cuz I'm quickly reminded that they have no idea the only group of people I'm truly comfortable around are kids

#like don't get me wrong. they are a handful and can be exhausting and frustrating at times.#but they are just so fun and genuine. I love talking to kids and seeing their brains work in real time to piece things together.#you forget just how much they don't know until you say something that seems obvious to you and they piece together #meaning through the only context clues they have. and ofc they're almost always wildly off track.#but it's a beautiful glimpse into a childish perspective #but anyways. I just feel like I'm so obvious bc I feel so awkward trying to connect with people my age #and that awkwardness clearly isn't there when I interact w kids bc... I mean. why would it be. I'm not trying to impress or relate to an 8yo #I also forget not everyone knows how many younger siblings I have.#I feel like a chef who studied extensively only the finest cuisine. and then I get commended on the finesse w which I pour a bowl of cereal #like ah. well yes I suppose it is very cool that I am somehow not losing my shit while teaching your 6yo how to play slappy hands and RPS #clearly you don't know abt the time I kept 7 of us alive for a month when I was 14 when my dad was in the icu and my mom stayed w him #and only came home around 11pm every night. I even did the grocery shopping for us. now that is something to commend.#the youngest at the time was 2. she slept w me in an armchair so I could keep an eye on her and I just. didn't sleep.#cuz I was terrified of somehow smothering her while unconscious.#try being 14 on no sleep raising 6 kids aged 12-2 from 6am-11pm w no adult supervision for a month.#turns out it makes you really good at slappy hands 10+ years later.
