The Parish Church of Cachopo, also known as Church of Saint Stephen.
Technically, speaking, this church was built circa 1535. But, looking at it, you won't find any XVI Century architectural elements, since this temple was completely rebuilt circa 1950.
Can we still say this is the same church that was originally built by the people of Cachopo in 1535? Or is this just a mid-XX Century building that carries the historical memory of an old church from the XVI Century that existed in this very place?
This example is a good startng point from some reflexions about the historical heritage that I pretend to incorporate in my PhD thesis: aren 't all hostorical buldings just a memory of something that, actually, existed in that very place?

Lyrics:
She wears a long fur coat of mink
Even in the summertime
Everybody knows from the coy little wink
The girl's got a lot on her mind
She's got big thoughts, big dreams
And a big brown Mercedes sedan
What I think this girl
She really wants is to be in love with a man
She wants to lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants to lead the glamorous life
Without love it ain't much
She saw him standing in the section marked
"If you have to ask you can't afford it" lingerie
She threw him bread and said, "Make me scream
In the dark, " what could he say?
Boys with small talk and small minds
Really don't impress me in bed
She said, "I need a man's man, baby
Diamonds and furs
Love would only conquer my head "
She wants to lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants to lead the glamorous life
Without love it ain't much
They made haste in the brown sedan
They drove to 55 Secret Street
They made love and by the seventh wave
She knew she had a problem
She thought real love is real scary
Money only pays the rent
Love is forever, that's all your life
Love is Heaven-sent it's glamorous
Lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants to lead the glamorous life
Without love it ain't much, it ain't much
She wants to lead the glamorous life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants to lead the glamorous life
Without love it ain't much, it ain't much

On this Day: The Uniting of Canada
Public Domain Images from Wikipedia
Article by @warrenwoodhouse
On this day in 1867, by proclamation of Queen Victoria, marks the uniting of the provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into one nation under the name Dominion of Canada. In 1962, the country dropped the word Dominion from its name.
Starting as far back as 1763, under the Treaty of Paris, New France owned the colony of Canada. The Royal Proclamation of the 7th October 1763 saw Canada formally adopted into the British Empire, under the new name of Province of Quebec, which with the Constitutional Act of 1791, became known as the Canadas.
The name Canada originates from the native Huron-Iroquois word “kan:áta” meaning “settlement of the upper river valley”. In 1535, two Aboriginal youths told French explorer Jacques Cartier about the route to kan:áta, which they were actually referring to the village of Stadacona, the site of the present day City of Quebec.
