don’t know anyone else’s experience, but I have 4.5 years in the service industry now, and I find it really weird that in any restaurant i’ve worked, there was never a time where there were more male servers than female, but there was almost always more men in leader and manager positions and a real issue with bullying or sexual harassment from older male employees toward younger girls. and guests would be condescending or straight up creepy to the women, and take a male leader’s word more seriously than a woman with a higher position than him. I’ve been mansplained to and talked over in front of guests by guys I literally trained two months ago. at a workplace I’ve been at for more than two years lmfao. is this not insane.
